I won't be too specific as I understand that my experience is contextual but if I were a parent I would be aware of the following The Lack of tangible progress and documentation; what the sold as curriculum is NOT what we saw. Insufficient engagement and educational activities; observed periods were often filled with unstructured time and excessive nap durations. Financial inconsistencies and unexpected fees, notably with summer program charges that were not clearly explained or justified. - PARENTS, PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS LIKE "WHY IS MY PART TIME STUDENT PAYING THE SAME AMOUNT FOR SUMMER ACTIVITIES AS THE FULL TIME STUDENT IF THEY ARE NOT ATTENDING ALL ACTIVITIES THAT THE FEES ARE PAYING FOR. Payment and late payment procedures are inconsistent and the front office staff aggressively bully. Lack of responsiveness and support from administrative staff, resulting in unresolved inquiries and dissatisfaction with service reliability. RETHINK.

They had journals; the teacher would have a sentence written on the board before class begins daily and the students would copy it, using the finger space method to space out the words. This place does not use worksheets at nor are they practicing writing their names or anything else. They are not practicing holding pencils or writing ANYTHING!!! In three weeks of attendance, she brought home ONE picture she had drawn- ONE!!!. Granted, she missed a couple days during her time enrolled here, I refuse to believe they were actually doing any kind of schoolwork on those days my child happened to not be there. I thought I'd be able to rely on this school, however it is hardly a school; it's a kiddy jail with a pre k teacher that doesn't have patience and screaming is the only way she can try to keep control of the classroom. I may lose patience with my little one at home from time to time, however I will not PAY someone else to do it on a daily basis. I confronted the teacher about this on my daughter's second day, repeating to her what my daughter had told me. She admitted " Yes, I do scream, I do get loud with them, but I always apologize though." Excuse me!!! WHYYY are you screaming at 4 & 5 year olds!?!?! Mind blowing!!! I am in agreement with the other reviews that stated they had the feel that this place strictly about business. I would not be surprised if they are offering discounts for positive reviews, because ain't NO WAY!!!

Nearly two years ago, while researching daycares, I discovered Hope Day School. Initially, I had a…read morelist of several schools, which I narrowed down based on proximity, public reviews, and reported incidents. From the outset, something about the photos shared online and philosophies on Hope's website resonated with me. After touring many schools, Hope felt warm and inviting. The Executive Director and Assistant Director took the time to get to know our family and share their holistic approach and comprehensive curriculum, which includes nature, art, spirituality, nutrition, and open-ended play. Observing families dropping off their children gave me comfort as a first-time mom. My husband and I left with a strong, positive feeling. We applied to a few schools and ultimately chose Hope. It was the practical choice due to cost, availability, and location, but more importantly, it felt right.   A year later, our daughter still lights up when she arrives in the morning and eagerly reaches out to her teachers. She explores, learns, and socializes, and it's been a joy to watch her grow alongside the same group of children. The teachers are attentive and truly get to know each child individually. The chef prepares excellent meals, and I love seeing my daughter try a variety of healthy vegetables.   We have also enjoyed getting to know the other parents better. Another parent described the experience perfectly: "They always find a way to make things magical for the kids."

I used to work for The Community School of the Park Cities, and I witnessed three Lead Teachers…read moremistreating the babies & toddlers every day. They leaned all their weight against the babies when washing their faces in the sink (which can injure their organs), lifted them by one arm (which can dislocate their shoulder), grabbed them aggressively, shoved food in their mouths aggressively, made them stay in their cribs for several hours, yelled at them for wanting to get up or for crying, swaddled them when that's against the law in daycare, and spent a lot of time texting & talking on their phones instead of watching the babies. The Lead Teacher in the Toddler Room was very impatient & squeezed their shoulders when they didn't obey, instead of using redirection. I explained these things to the director, but she said, "It's going to be a lot of work to replace those teachers." I later asked her what she was going to do about the incidents & she said her lawyer told her not to talk to me about it, so I reported the incidents to Child Care Licensing. They visited the school, but weren't able to do anything because I didn't have pictures or videos. I asked the director to install cameras, but she said no. Something must be done to bring awareness to the parents. Those lead teachers are still there & the director doesn't want to make the effort to replace them.

The website says they have won awards for being good with kids who have special needs - they were not good with my son, who was just diagnosed with ADHD. The parent manual says they work with parents if kids have trouble in the classroom. They did not work with us, although the director did tell me that they worked with another child for a year until he went to kindergarten and ended up bringing a knife to kindergarten. It seemed like they favor kids who have been there for a long time or whose parents they know, I'm not sure. They did not appear willing to work with our son's therapist to develop a plan for our son, either. The director told us, "sticker charts don't work." I also didn't feel like they did much "teaching." My son did not do one worksheet during his time here. I did not see any educational work coming home. The children in his class seemed to bully a lot for such young kids. They called our son a cry baby and made fun of him for calling his mom "mama." The teacher is very experienced, but she appeared to be worn out or overwhelmed. The facilities are inviting but seem crowded and less than pristine. On the positive side, I will say that my son had fun with a lot of the activities they did, such as the summer luau. The director is pretty good at communicating with parents, even though I felt that she was either biased or dishonest in her communications with me. Bottom line? If your child is a fairly easy kid, and you aren't too focused on your child getting the best educational environment you can find, this school might work for you. If your kid is hyper or challenging like mine, this might not be your first choice.

Another dad, getting into his car, recognized my feelings and reassured me with a smile and "Don't worry. Pretty soon it will feel like family!" He was right. The Octopus Garden has become all three of my children's home-away-from-home. They feel safe. They are loved. They learn. They have good friends. It's a preschool where manners and kindness are taught along with the ABCs and 123s. It is a very special place, a place that is governed by Love. Now when I drop my kids off at The Octopus Garden, they run in happy! They are greeted with smiles and hugs and everyone is eager to begin the day. Each week they are introduced to new concepts, books, activities and are fed healthy meals. The dedicated teachers at The Octopus Garden have become our true allies in parenting. They are our friends and they do indeed feel like our family. My husband and I are comforted with the knowledge that our kids are being provided with the same care and kindness that we provide in our home. We feel so blessed to have The Octopus Garden as our preschool!

My daughter has been going to Little Tyke in Crowley since she was 18 months old…read more This was our first daycare ever, I was very impressed with how much the staff truly cares and loves each child. Our lovely director Mrs. Vanessa knows each child by name. My daughter has some health issues and the staff has always taken such good care of her, any of my questions or concerns have been met and handled with sincerity. Little tyke has become our extended family. My daughter has thrived since she first started coming here. She went from being completely withdrawn and non verbal to social and incredibly articulate. She is also bilingual and starting to read at only 2. I'm very blessed to have a daycare that my daughter not only is safe in but is learning at an all exceptional level. Mrs. Vanessa has made some wonderful changes and makes a constant effort to get to know the other children as well as the families. She is by far a blessing and I am thrilled to have someone I trust this much with my daughter.

Im so happy to be the first to write a review for them honestly, im honored. They exceeded my husband's and i expectations. More importantly my daughters. They welcomed us with open arms. Tho most of them dont know me well nor me them, im happy to get to know them, as well as they us. my daughter has been making excellent grades and has nothing but wonderful things to say about each and every teacher/staff. She jumps out of bed every morning loving being apart of eastridge. I hope to continue to think so highly of this school. Wonderful job!!!
