The Urology Dept. has no full time doctor; the same with Cardiology and the eye center is a disaster; a lack of doctors in the entire facility make the place a running away from hospital. Many a Veteran opts for outside care once seen inside the VA , Mountain Home where transfers to outside providers is commonplace. I worked here for awhile and am pretty confident in the following ratings: -Staff are five stars. -Current director is negative stars (2022). -Facilities vary. -Campus is amazing but parking has been an issue for years. Mountain Home excels at several things, including audiology, mental health, pharmacy, geriatrics, and training health care students.

I was checking in for an…read moreappointment at the heart hospital in the Johnson city medical center on 10/13/2025 for a tilt table stress test. when I arrived the front desk receptionist was friendly and used her cell phone to communicate with me. She told the ladies at registration I did not speak English. The white lady would not assist me because I did not speak English and talked on the phone while I waited. After assisting a patient an African American lady named Michelle assisted me with my registration. She was polite and patient. It saddens me that the hospital would allow such treatment of their patients. That type of treatment towards patients or anyone else should not be allowed. My experience was very heartbreaking.

So I had read a few reviews before I first came here, so you can understand why I was a little…read morenervous at first. I spent two months in a coma and then 2 months in the hospital recouping so my experience is maybe a little different. I have a service animal and so when I first came in I was a little nervous but the people behind the counter made me feel more than welcome. They did have a little sign that asked you to stand back until it was your turn, but there are some people who still had a problem with that? Once I was introduced to Dr Mandy and her assistant Aura I knew I was in good caring hands. When it comes to medical care I've often found that most people seem to forget that there are other people that are suffering also and so they expect treatment like they were the only person in the world. That is the only reason this facility could possibly be rated 2.6 Stars? Maybe it's because some people just like to complain? They take my insurance, they take my dog, and they take my worry away!!

I brought my kids here for swim lessons. It seemed like all of the instructors were young, but I…read morethink they did a good job and my kids made noticeable progress in a short time. My only frustration was that we didn't seem to get the full amount of time that we paid for since the instructors sometimes would start late, finish early or even take a phone call or send a text during the lesson time.
