I got a little jammer done here by Russel on my arm & it looks awesome. The amount of shading and detail he took the time to put into my atom bomb in spite of it's palm-size speaks volumes about his work and what he's really capable of. Thomas talked with a friend during my tattoo instead of paying attention, the line work was bad, did not match the stencil at all, went back to try and fix it and helped the body of the snake by messed up the head. If you go here don't get your tattoo by him edit: Matt the owner reached out and offered help and and was extremely kind. If you were to go here I would recommend him! I have 5 tattoos total and Chris did 2 of them. I have nothing but rave reviews for this shop, every time someone sees my son's footprint on my foot they feel compelled to compliment me on it and ask who did it. The shop is clean, well lit and not at all sketchy or anything else bad you hear about places. I love that I can usually pop in and discuss my next idea with an artist 99% of the time without needing an appointment or even a sketch. Chris is an amazing artist and it's incredible seeing how he can just pull exactly what you are referring to out of thin air. It is a cash only business but there is a little dollar store with an atm nearby and most people will tell you the cost upfront so you know how much to bring. I have a huge rib piece I got here, and I'm extremely happy with the results. It's a gorgeous tattoo, I get complimented on it all the time, and it's holding up well over time. The place is VERY clean, the artists are AMAZING and friendly, and it's obvious they're all educated artists and passionate about what they do. I'd recommend this place to anyone, and I'll continue to come here for all the rest of the tattoos I get. :) I also got my belly button pierced here. It was the third time I've had it done, the first two times I got it done at other places and the piercing rejected pretty quickly. Low Tide is my personal favorite shop, all of the artists have many years of experience in tattooing, and they all have their own style. You won't find much flash at all, they prefer to do custom work, so that the tattoo is truly yours and one of a kind. The atmosphere is great, bright and clean with a day at the beach feeling. The artwork on the walls is from the artists themselves and other artists in the area. Every artist has their own private room, which means no one will be staring at you while you are getting tattooed. You can make an appointment, but it isn't necessary. Also, since the urge to get tattooed strikes at any time, they are open 7 days a week, with Sunday being appointment only. read more

Clean shop, and fairly welcoming. I went to get my septum pierced, and informed the piercer he would be working with some scar tissue. Piercing experience was good, however the piercing is a little crooked, but that might be due in part to the fact I had scar tissue in my nose...They don't have a wide selection of jewelry, since they are mainly a tattoo shop, but you can bring your own jewelry if you want. Only other complaint is I'm not sure if it was the jewelery, or if my skin had an allergic reaction to the metal, but after a week I had to replace the retainer with an acrylic piercing because it was getting severely sore and painful. I'm not sure if I would come back here for a piercing, but I wouldn't mind coming back to see how they do with tattoos :) read more

Hated this place and my tattoo. Walked in with an appointment set and I didn't get my tattoo started till like 2 hours after because he didn't have his shit together. I also came with a picture and the guy wanted to totally change my tattoo and I asked him to redraw it about 4 times and he kept wanting to do it the way he liked instead. He charged me way to much for a smaller tat and he told me he was charging extra because of the placement which is dumb. I left and cried after seeing his work and the horrible shading. I hate it and now have to hop around and find someone who can try to fix this big black bulky mess. Would not recommend to anyone and definitely never ever going back there. My new tattoo home. Went to get my 8th tattoo done here. Chris Meade did an AMAZING job! I couldn't be more pleased. The receptionist, Maria, was pretty helpful. Originally I called and she advised me to come in and take a look at the artists' work to decide who I wanted. Then I had to set a consultation appointment when I chose Chris and put down a deposit. He was really cool and I showed him what I wanted. The day of the tattoo, I was generally impressed with everything. The place is clean and comfortable. Chris did a phenomenal job and he was actually very friendly and made a painful 3 hours go by much better. I cannot wait to go back and get more work done by him. The other artists looked very talented too. What a hidden gem. You wouldn't think such an amazing tattoo spot is in Jessup behind a small shopping center! read more

When you decide to get a tattoo you should do your homework about the artist to make sure your going to get a well done tattoo. All the artists at this shop put out great tattoos. My artist is Chris Meade. I got a margarita glass pin up from him last year which I'll share. A couple days ago I put down my deposit for my next piece of permanent art work that I completely trust will come out great and I will be sharing that as well. Can't go wrong here. read more

Went here to get my nose pierced after reading other Yelp reviews. They were very professional and clean. The process was quick and they offered helpful information about healing and offered support for any issues. The selection of nose rings is pretty good. I got a cute small pink rhinestone. I have have recommended the place and my friend just got her nose done recently. $40 for the piercing and ring is pretty good!! read more

I know a ton of people that have gotten work done at low tide so naturally when I was ready for my half sleeve I came here. Let me first say this is the cleanest shop I've ever stepped in. They also have the nicest artist in Maryland. Looking through the portfolio's you'll quickly see they are also the most talented artist in the state. Chris Carter does the most fantastic black and grey and the artist that did my half sleeve (Matt "WhitetrashMatt" Zimmerman) is an absolute monster. Totally original piece he drew up for me that came out amazing. His line work is crisp his shading is smooth and his attention to detail is incredible. I have about 50 hours of tattoo work by 12 different artists on my arms, not all of it very good, and my tastes have changed so I contacted Chris at low tide about blacking out my right arm. In two different 9 hour sessions he has turned my arm pitch black basically wrist to shoulder.. pays attention to detail and carefully lined the negative space on my shoulder..the shop is very clean and the rooms are private. The price is absolutely unbeatable in this area, the 9 hour sessions cost me 700$ apiece. And like I said the black is pitch black, very solid fill...I have seen some of his portrait work and it is good too. read more
