The vibe of 70's hits pumping over the speakers immediately put me at ease, because they were the same songs I listened to back in the "tattoo studio" of my youth. How would I describe the pain? As the artist drew the outline, it was like burning sensations I had felt before, manageable, yet without the scent of singed hair. My masculinity levels surged. Howeverrrrrrrr... the color fill was a new experience altogether. In what can only be explained as a podiatrist performing ankle surgery without administering sedative, the look of steely determination on my face melted into a bewildered grimmace, as if I had sneaked a peek into the Ark of the Covenant while the Nazi's weren't paying attention. My testosterone levels, as well as my estrogen, plummeted. And through it all, my rock, my adventure, my wife, was right by my side, hand on my shoulder.
