I moved into a new house recently that has two air handlers and knew that the previous owners had a dog and construction done on the house, so I knew I should have the air ducts cleaned. I shopped around for companies that had a good rating and that were a good value. Lowe's Cleaning Services fit the bill. Their technician Milan called ahead of his arrival and showed up on time. He was a good communicator and told me what the process was for cleaning the ducts. I told him what I knew about my system and he went to work cleaning the system. He found construction debris, construction dust and dog hair throughout my system. Eek! Three and a half hours later, my house's HVAC ducts are much cleaner and the system is much more efficient. Called because my brand new dryer was not drying. I left a message and they called back very quickly and they came out the next day! Mick was our technician and he was fantastic! Our vents were run kinda strange through the house so he had quite a job to get everything taken care. He ended up finding out the culprit of my dryer issue was a birds nest in the vent! He recommended us putting a type of screen over the vent so it wouldn't happen again. Mick had the part with him so he installed it right then and there and my dryer is now working great! Would definitely recommend for any "emergencies" or for a yearly cleaning! read more

Our dryer vents clearly hadn't been cleaned in many years.  The dryer was slow, and the clothes came out with lint.  Lowe's sent a service person who fiddled with the pipes and finally said he couldn't do the job.  After his efforts, the vent was completely blocked and the dryer automatically turned off after a minute or two.  The office was unhelpful; they told me to contact the service person who should come out again and fix it for free.  He reluctantly agreed to come, but was sure it wouldn't work, and so were we.  We contacted Air Vent Wizard, who had originally been recommended and were persuaded to call off Lowe's.  Mike, from AVW, came promptly, explained exactly what the problems were, showed us the vents completely blocked with lint, gave us very persuasive advice about what to have him do and what else he could do that he didn't recommend, and replaced all the venting, in one visit.  The dryer now not only works, but works much better than it ever has in the year we have lived here.  Others appear to have had better luck with Lowe's, but for us it's thumbs way down. read more
