Great selection, friendly staff. Always helpful. This is my favorite Lowe's Foods location to shop.

The chicken itself was excellent. It was incredibly juicy, perfectly fried, and had a great crispy coating. My only issue was that the breading felt like it was missing a little something, maybe more seasoning, pepper, or some extra flavor. Growing up with places like Gus's Fried Chicken in Memphis and Nashville hot chicken, I think I naturally expect a little more punch from the chicken itself. The sauce they serve is more of a barbecue style sauce, and while it worked, I personally didn't love it enough for it to carry all the flavor. The sides were a mixed bag. The collard greens were really good and definitely one of the highlights. The coleslaw, though, was way too pepper heavy for my taste. Also, the piece of bread that comes with the meal was honestly not worth the calories. I'd rather see them either upgrade the bread or skip it altogether. One unexpected highlight was the pebble ice from the drink machine. Small detail, but it was awesome and definitely appreciated. Overall, I'd come back and try some different sides because the chicken itself is worth returning for. With a little more seasoning or some different sauce options, I could see this being a 5 star spot.

I literally read the name of my selection off the menu board several times, and at least twice pointed out to them what I wanted on the menu board directly behind them, yet twice the guy insisted they had no such selection. Only after he confirmed with his fellow employees what I wanted would he accept my order. Jerk. What I picked: jumbo tender and barbecue plate (wish I'd taken a photo of the menu board). The order was slow to arrive, though I found out that's because the tenders were being freshly made. And the plate contained an impressive amount of food when it arrived. The barbecue wasn't bad, the chicken was indeed hot, and the slaw and potato salads were nice additions. I didn't care much for the hush puppies as they didn't seem very flavorful and were too dry. One of the other staff members was kind enough to fill my drink cup several times as I worked my way through the plate. That evening, and during the following morning, my stomach did not handle the meal well at all. I hadn't noticed any off-putting flavors in the food, but clearly something did not sit well with my digestive tract. So between the early issues with the service and the frequent bathroom visits I made in the hours following my trip to Smithfield's, I'm afraid I've gotta suggest that you look elsewhere if you are in search of a good experience in the Aberdeen/Southern Pines area. If you decide to take a chance here, I hope your fortunes are better than mine were!

Let me just say that I do not like the wings of any place except this place. While most…read morerestaurants give you the reheated version of a deep fried wing fried in lawn mower oil, this place offers delicious, top quality, fresh wings every time! They were perfectly cooked, fresh and delicious and the order was perfect. It is kind of hard to think that a Korean franchise is beating one of the most American dishes at our own game, but that is the reality. Service was courteous and on time. Their website seems to need some work as I had so issues to place the order while on MS Edge and had to switch to Google Chrome. No biggie, just worth mentioning. They are not cheap, but if food is good and fresh, I prefer to pay for quality.

Well...it ain't your mama's chicken…read more It is Korean style fried chicken, prepared in many different ways, to include just nakedly fried and served without any flavorings or sauces. Next time I will give that Golden Original chicken a try. There are some plates and rice dishes, but the focus is on the chickens. You chose wings or chicken, meaning wings and boneless chicken pieces. I generally do not like sweet and honey coated meats, so had to ask the counter guy what was what. Also, Koreans do like spicy hot foods and can, like the Thais, blow your taste buds to pieces, so go slow to go fast spice-wise. I had a two flame (out of a high of five flames) serving of wings and it was, to me, mild. Best to call in and pick-up. I had to sit for 20 minutes to get my walk-in order, as the kitchen cooks up one batch at a time. Pricey. My 8 wing order was $16 with $1.60 tax = $17.60.
