What a show! Alachua store seems to focus on sales more than customer service. They screwed up with an exchange, which mistakes happen, but I called this morning to double check and they said it was confirmed and now just passing the buck into the delivery company they outsource to. And no one has called me back. And the delivery team sat in my house for 30 minutes complaining and botching about Lowe's. I spent 5k in appliances and this is the attention I get? The first time I went there, I tried to get enough straight lumber to do a project. It was like trying to find hen's teeth. They refuse to open a new bundle of wood in order for me to obtain nice, straight wood. I had a 16' deck I wanted to build, and I could not get enough 2x6's that were straight and defect free for the visible areas. For the price I would have paid, I expected good lumber for the visible areas. I could deal with the defects for the parts that wouldn't be seen. So I left the wood there and went elsewhere where I knew I could get enough staight wood for the visible areas. The second time I went the for another project, I wanted to purchase 300' of 3/4" PVC. This was during COVID. The sales associate wanted to mock me for "hoarding" pipe. I said something to one of the managers and he didn't care. Again, I just left the pipe there and went elsewhere. At a company I used to work for, we had three pallets of solar salt delivered. There were a few ripped bags. Lowe's policy is to write on the back what was wrong, the company I worked for, there policy was to write it on the front of the bill. The driver cussed me out for not following Lowe's policy. I do not work for Lowe's, but at the time UF Facilities Services. Whose policy do you think I will follow? My manager called the manager at Lowe's who just didn't care. I wanted to purchase a DeWalt grinder, found a better price on Amazon. Went to Lowe's to try to get a price match on the same exact item. They refused, saying they don't compete with Amazon. Today, I received a set of panels that I purchased at this location. The panels were delivered at my home. After the delivery driver left, I immediately noticed that the panels were wet and damaged. I headed toward this location since that's where I purchased the panels. I was very upset that nobody from the Lowe's location verified or checked these items were ok to be delivered. I spoke with a one representative from the location named Lisa. I must say I received the worst customer service ever from her. Not only she was not understanding of this issue but overall she tried to argue with me by making it seem it was my fault for not verifying with the delivery driver when I barely even have any interaction with the delivery guy. To add insult to injury, she was going to charged me for the delivery of the exchange when Lowe's was at fault for their mistake for sending something that was damaged. I asked for a supervisor, no supervisor came over to assist. All I was told by Lisa was that she sent an email to the delivery team. Now I have trash on my drive way with no date on when the replacement will come. Overall this location is the worst place to do business with specially with people like Lisa. It's so much work to shop here. Why do I do it? Sometimes it's the only game in town when you need something quickly and you live in a small town. They have more options than the tiny Ace Hardware. I order online and go to the store. I stand in line with 1 person being attended to. It looks like she will be there a while. I wasn't wrong. There's (count ''em) five employees in various stages of doing nothing (including one who decided he wanted to go chat with his buddy outside and almost walked into me (ummm social distancing?)). Another was chatting with his friend on the phone about weekend bbq and other social activities. Another employee arrived with no mask and walked behind the counter. Twenty two minutes and I finally give up. This is one small sample of the kind of treatment I get about 90% of the time. There was a young lady today who was great and there's one guy at the service counter who is always friendly and helpful. Otherwise, dealing with Lowe's is a customer service pot luck. Most of the items I look for or would otherwise buy are higher at Lowe's than HD or Walmart or Amazon. On the occasion there's a sale, i May try to buy at Lowe's. Even then if you order online it's pot luck if they will send the items. They also make a lot of mistakes. Promotional items? Good luck getting those honored. I had a coupon once and the cashier wouldn't accept it. I'm fact, I got the 3rd degree about where I got it. Ummm...Lowe's sent me coupons after I moved and changed addresses. Thanks for the inquisition. I'm bored with this so I'll stop here. Not a fan, could you tell? Only game in town so we are here again. COVID world and despite the law, zero mask enforcement. Ok. When you need something from the hardware store Lowes is a ok place to get it. You might need to know exactly what you need before going in though. If you're looking for help you might get a little frustrated. I spent about 15 minutes looking for help before I found someone who immediately told me " this is not my department - I don't know anything about hardware". I had to ask him. Isn't this a hardware store. How can you not know "anything"about hardware. I cut the dude some slack because I think I scare him by asking a question. My 5 minute pop into Lowes turned into 45 minutes and some time on my phone googling the answer to my question. I see now the error in my ways. I should have just looked it up before going to Lowes and saved some frustration on the part of the staff. I will say I left hardware and moved into lawn and garden where a guy named Danny helped me out. They didn't have what I needed, but he knew in 2 seconds he didn't and told me where to get it. This location has really friendly employees. Last summer we purchased a kitchen suite & I was so researched on what I wanted that I almost sold the salesman on the suite I purchased. However, he was very knowledgeable & reminded me of some features on the dishwasher I'd not considered. A couple weeks later when the fridge door quit closing properly, we came into the store to discuss replacement. A different salesperson wasn't so helpful, but when a manager happened by, he cheerfully made everything right immediately. In addition, their garden center has plenty of currently blooming plants. A couple days before Christmas, I went by to see about poinsettias Anne the only left were on clearance. The lil things were so pitiful looking, but I was desperate. The cashier was helpful in telling me how to revive them & keep them alive until next year. I'm not sure that will happen but she made me feel confident it was possible. read more

Upon return the service we received was that of snarky comments and nothing to fix the issue or address our concerns. I understand a faulty item but 2 in one purchase? And no support from staff? I wish there was a zero star I could pick. This store has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Do youself a favor and save yourself the trouble, go to Homedepot. We recently purchased a large package of appliances. We were rescheduled more than once for the same problem and every time they acted like it was new problem. We took off two different days from work every time they rescheduled. Ive talked to an assistant manager by the name of Jamia. I thought she was going to be helpful but just continued to blame the problem on everything she could instead of them taking responsibility for the situation. After several phone calls there is still no resolution. Im so baffeled about how poorly this is being handle. Lowes use to be my go to store since we're a family of contractors. They will not get any business from me any longer. Lets see how long it takes them to refund us? I very much regret this large purchase. I hope a manager that actualy takes pride in what they do tries to fix whatever the problem really is within the store. One of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. They use XPO for delivery. XPO does not read or write English. Do not buy from Lowes, Alachua, FL if you want something delivered as in large appliances. Customer service at both Lowes and XPO are no habla english, nor can they read or write English. After sitting on the phone with both Lowes and XPO for over 2 hours, no solution to the refrigerator I bought 2 days ago that was supposed to be delivered between 3:30 and 7:30, being placed on hold, phone disconnected, XPO called the wrong phone number, tried to deliver at the wrong time. Now, folks, we're going to hear some stories. One about BAD customer service and one about GOOD customer service! I decided that having a sorta-working washer/dryer set wasn't half as cool as having a washer/dryer set that worked when I wanted it to, so I did my homework and decided on a new set that fits our needs and wallets. I noted in my research that none of the stores in Gainesville, Alachua, or Ocala had both units in stock that day. The website proudly offers to have a unit moved between stores within a 75-mile radius for its customers. Sounds awesome, let's rock. After visiting the store and speaking to a young man named Ray* in appliances, I was told what I already knew--the store didn't have the washer in stock. They did have multiple dryers, and Ray assured me that the washer would come in shortly, they would be shipped out immediately thereafter and installed after, and I could live happily ever after. After a week and some questions from my husband, I went back to the store. This time I was told by Ray without an ounce of irony that they had the washer but no dryer. I suppose it was about then that my facial expression must have gone from general doormat to "Where's my blowtorch and accelerant?" because he quickly offered to have another store ship the dryer over asap. Fine, all's well. The next day I called again. Ray had taken the day off, probably to avoid the wrath of my pointy-toed heels. Instead, I got to speak to a gentleman named Titus.** Titus told me that the dryer wasn't in, he didn't know when it was coming, and he didn't want to order it for me because Ray was already "helping me." (I use the term loosely.) And just when Titus was about to completely touch his tonsils with his foot, he suggested that I return to the store that afternoon and speak with the manager. The manager was a godsend. She listened to my story, looked just as befuddled as I felt, immediately went to the back of the store and returned about seven minutes later with news that actually made sense. Unfortunately, the dryer that they were holding for me had been sent away on another delivery truck in error. However, the washer was there and other stores in Gainesville still had the dryer. She made an emergency order and told me to expect a call around 7 a.m. We got the call, all right--the truck driver had some sob story about "being behind schedule and did we have to have the machines today? Could we wait until Saturday morning?" (No.) So the pretty washer/dryer set are sitting in the laundry room waiting to take on a load of clothes. And I'm feeling rather happy with myself for once again not going to jail over a dopey guy. :) I'm not sure that I'd deal with this particular Lowe's again for any sort of major purchase, but having someone actually take a problem like mine seriously enough to resolve it the next day deserves 3 stars. *Not his real name. I love the painting department they have been nothing but a ton of help. When we went to home depot we had to make sure we got way more paint then we needed they seem to be unable to match paint. The paint they supply the paint samples for. But Lowe's you don't have to worry about that at all. It matches every time!! Cashiers are nice and helpful. I am a little worried about the wood department. They seem to not know where anything is. I would choose Lowe's over Home Depot any day. read more

1 star because you can't score 0. Purchased 5 Portfolio led landscaping lights with 5 year warranty that all burned out within 2 years. The bulbs are not replaceable. Warranty info says return to store for warranty claim. I did. Asst Store Manager Brenda refuses to address, even after acknowledging that warranty info states to return to store. Portfolio has no telephone or mailing info. Brenda says that I must work through Portfolio. After much discussion Brenda provided a telephone number for Portfolio - wrong number. I believe that Lowes should stand up for customer in situation where Lowes vendor fail. Alachua Lowes / Brenda offered no assistance- essentially telling me to "pound sand." I would avoid this location like the plague. We have had 4 different issues with them two never got resolved and one I'm working on and getting the run around. I don't know about other locations but we won't return here. The first issue which didn't get resolved was with a Window a/c unit we bought and bought a warranty for. The unit would litterly freeze over with ice and stop blowing cold air. I would have to put a rag down and melt the ice with a hair dryer. They could never find my warranty because I didn't get the paperwork from them and refused to sign up for a credit card with them. The second issue is my husband went into to get a copy of a key made and he waited 15 minutes with no one stopping to see if he needed help,or was helped. There where several employees standing around laughing with each other. Several times my husband attempted to get help and was ignored. He went to customer service and asked for a manager and again nothing,he got into the car and called the store and got a manager quickly that way. The manager proceeds to tell him I'm not sure why you had that issue my staff is to notch (yeah right) Issue three:We bought a tree for Christmas and followed the associate's directions about putting it in water for two days and decorating it on the 3rd or 4th day. By day three the tree was dead (with brown spots & not taking in water). I call back and ask for a manager and get connected to Jake who was a piece of work. He wouldn't let me get a word in and was full of excuses. Finally got a new tree in time for Christmas after dealing with a different manager on duty. This last issue is still in the process of being delt with so I will update this after. read more

Just bought a new washing machine and this Lowe's store was very fast and efficient. They honored another stores prices and the transaction went great. Zach and Robert were super. Lowe's in Alachua, Fl is clean,well organized and staffed with kind,knowledgeable people,like Georgia and Brooks.Georgia helped me in Customer Service-she actually took the time to walk me to the place in the store where the item I wanted was located,loaded the item onto a cart and made sure that helpful staff,like Brooks,could then load the item(s) for me in my car.It was raining and not the greatest weather.Brooks never complained,and kept a steady,cheerful attitude.He has assisted me too in the past on other visits to Lowe's,and remains diligent and upbeat.I value this store and its' staff,and shopping is a joy there!!!! read more

i purchaed a maytag washer dryer set from lowes paid extra for the warranty the washer stopped working i called lowes to find out it was out of warranty by 2 weeks paid a repairman to come take a look at it the transmiision was bad in it and was going to cost more to fix than it was worth i looked this model up only to find this was a problem with this machine model i called maytag only to find out they would not do anything abount it and told me it was lowes problem i conntacted lowes again to be told they would not do anything as well a washer should last longer than 3 years before you have to junk it not real happy with the way lowes and maytag service read more

I like the store. It's clean and organized. The employees are nice and very helpful. The prices are great too. The only problem I've had is using my military discount. You have to wait for a manager to come and approve it. It seems the manager is always out to lunch, in the parking lot, in the bathroom or maybe busy with a customer. It means you have to wait, and so does everyone else behind you in line. This area of customer service needs to be addressed. read more

When I can get help, it's usually decent. Finding someone in most departments can be a chore. It's like Lowes and Home Depot are just chronically understaffed. Nobody has been rude, it's just hard to find somebody to help sometimes. So many people have absolute customer service horror stories these days. Lowes' just broke that trend. I have a really old riding mower and it decided that it did not want the blades to work. I am unemployed and don't have the extra money to spend on another mower. I was in Lowe's to get a couple of other things and while I was there I decided to see if anyone in the mower department could help me. I honestly didn't have high hopes. Two people came over to help and listened to the story, got on their little walkie talkie thing and shortly thereafter a gentleman named "Mike" came walking up. I told him the story. Next thing you know we are both crouched down by the side of another riding mower and he is pointing out exactly what I need to look for and giving suggestions on how to remedy it. He was pleasant, attentive and understood my dilemma. I doubt I will ever shop at the competitor again. What a breath of fresh air. Thank you Mike, the two who called you over and Lowe's for hiring these people. read more

Lowe's should be Slowes. We ordered some linoleum (HD doesn't have) and they charged my CC after checking stock. We send our carpenter to pick it up and they could not find it. So they sent us to another store 30 miles away and we spent 5 hours total trying to pick-up an order purchased the day before. So, don't believe the salesman if they say it is IN STOCK-you have to see it in person. This never happened to us at HDepot so you decide-both stores have different materials so you might have to see theit inventory. In Clermont, FL the 2 stores are a bock apart so it's not a problem.But we have heard a lot more complaints like this about Lowe's. read more

After several trips here, and delivery of appliances, I am at Luke warm. Some people are super friendly and knowledgeable, while others are really just warm bodies. Guy in tile with pony tail, fantastic. Lisa in kitchens terrific. Old tall guy who made my keys really great. So why Luke warm? Delivered appliances were damaged. Returning the completely broken and unusable micro that had a fork lift puncture in bottom, treated like I was scamming. Really. I've spent nearly $6000 there is 3 months. Treat me better than that. Check out people are snippy. Sorry you hate your job. I don't like mine either but I have to go every day to pay for my trips to Lowes. The great people are brought down by the bad attitude people who clearly do not want to be there. This store is like a mix of good dedicated people and yocals who hate you on site.
