The movers arrived right on time on the day of the move, and the cost actually ended up being significantly lower than the original quote.

(Another North American mover) got us a great estimate on the move costs. Covered all the contingencies so we knew going in what our 'high side' costs might be. Items were picked up on time and then the dispatcher for North American called to confirm delivery date. Then the driver called the day before also. Day of delivery, A-Turner crew assigned to help unload the truck and bring in the house showed up a few minutes ahead of the truck. Once the driver showed up, they helped get the truck door lined up with the sidewalk and get everything set up to unload They did a walk through of the house to know where we wanted most of the items to go. They put down protective coverings on the floor and got to work. They were quick, professional and flexible. Gladly placing bigger items where we wanted them. Overall a really great experience!

From there all items were picked up by A Turner moving in Gainsville Fla, and transported to my new home in Ocala Florida. Two men in a Penskie rental truck arrived at 5pm to make my delivery. The boxes and furniture items looked like they were thrown into the back of the truck, with nothing lashed down. The men were dragging my antique furniture items on the ground until I told them to stop. My grandmothers antique school top desk was on its side with a large chunk of the wood broken off and missing. I am missing an antique side table, and every piece of other furniture had damage. The boxes were not only crushed, but wet. I had to throw away much of the clothing and bedding due to mold issues. I'm missing a wooden American Flag that my son made for me as a father's day gift. It was wrapped in cardboard boxes to keep safe. I'm also missing several other items. I ended up with someone else's antique wedding dress, which I'm sure someone wants. Boxes that were marked fragile were upside down with heavier boxes on top of them, crushed, broken glass everywhere. Not knowing what was missing or broken (as it took me a week to open and inspect everything, 105 boxes) I signed the paperwork to get rid of the two delivery people that looked as if they never moved anyone prior. Now I guess I'm out of luck in any attempt to regain my missing things. If anyone is missing an antique wedding dress, I have it still in the original box. I'm not sure how everything got wet like it did, but don't ever use this company for anything, just the worst experience of my life, especially after losing my wife....

A Poor Choice to trust with your move…read more Amplified failed in almost every measure on my move, From Estimating the size, to over promising and under delivering. This is a small company without deep pockets.  They present the illusion of being a bigger company with one brother Pat in Gainsville, FL and the other, "General Manager" Charles in New Jersey. Truth is they do not use their own equipment on long out of state moves, meaning if something goes wrong, you aren't getting any money back (they have to rent from a 3rd party) The most important piece of a move is closing on the real estate sale.  My sale was scheduled for a Friday (moved in the last week to Monday)) - Amplified arrived late on the Wednesday.  By 10:30am the Driver notified me that the truck was too small.  I immediately contacted Charles (who was servicing another customer in CT) - when did Charles get back to me?  - he never did.     I called Charles at 7PM (I had to drive to Florida to be there for the arrival of the truck)  Charles said" He knew this was a possibility we will go to plan B!"  Plan B was to move the remaining goods to storage and use a Common Carrier for the remainder (which means I get to pay an additional $4,000 over quoted price).  I called Patrick the following Morning - Patrick got back to me on Tuesday  6 days later-(He was partying in Vegas ) Charles had told me that if we get rid of a few items - we should be "ok" - So I paid amplified prior to my move date $1000 to move large items to friends/buyers - The Amplified truck broke down and was stuck in my driveway for 3 hours delaying each delivery -   on the final move the amplified truck door broke - so my goods were left unsecured. As for quality of service, the Amplified Movers destroyed an Antique Table loading into the truck from my driveway (they made it about 20 feet before breaking)- Amplified has made no effort to compensate me for the damage - Additional damage was caused by the tape that the movers used - destroying painted surfaces etc. Amplified had promised that (for a fee) they would box items and really provide a concierge service - After first underestimating the load size and being unavailable for the moving day.  Charles (or amplified staff) arrived on Friday to pick up remaining items BUT the didn't bring any moving supplies with them so they would have to return on Saturday -   I spoke with Charles Saturday Morning he said they would be there Saturday Afternoon.  By 1pm Saturday I spoke with my realtor, who had recommended Amplified, and it was clear Charles would not be coming until Sunday -  Charles waited until after 5pm Saturday to notify me (the paying Customer) that the would complete the move on Sunday   Charles cried "This is a One day Move that has now taken 3 days"  He did not catch the irony that it was HIS job to make sure the job was done properly and he failed miserably -   I did not deal with Charles after this - he had done enough damage, there is nothing in his background to suggest he is any type of expert in Moving or Storage. My closing was on Monday and during the final walkthrough on Sunday morning Amplified had still not completed emptying the garage Amplified eventually arranged for a Common Carrier to pick up the remainder of my property and I paid the fee (you really have no options) Naturally, Amplified did not load all of my items -(I noticed days after the Common Carrier had dumped everything into my Garage.) It took Amplified days to even return my email - and more days to confirm they had located my property, the good news "The wouldn't charge me"  gee thanks guys. True to form, Amplified never contacted me to let me know when the truck would be arriving, when Juan the driver arrived unannounced on a Sunday Morning he told me he asked for my number but the office would no/did not give him my number -  I was still missing items but Amplified managed to include someone other customers goods in the final move. Amplified did not care about me, they did not care about my closing date, their equipment broke down, they damaged my property and they took me for approximately $14,000 Do not make the same mistake - there are better options for long haul moves than this company

When it came time for my move, the three guys showed up on time and did an excellent job managing to fit all of our stuff into their truck. At the new house, they did a decent job unloading the truck and bringing our stuff into the house. Nothing was damaged. The only thing that prevented me from giving five stars was the estimate and billing methodology. The estimate had an hour of travel time on it, but my new place is only between 5 and 10 minutes from my old place. I assumed that this would factor into the final price, but there is a minimum of $500(ish), which covers two hours of labor and an hour of travel time, regardless of actual travel time. Service was great... Just a little bit of weirdness with billing.

It was just incredibly stressful and I could not wait for them to be gone. I'm older. I used to be able to do things on my own and I can't anymore. Letting people into your home and handling your personal things is stressful in itself. I felt the leader was disrespectful and made fun of me being older. I'm not sure why that's ok in today's society but it seems so. He made constant noises and when he called for me to ask a question it was in a high pitched weird voice, sort of imitating a cat. I did at one point tell him I was not sure if I should be offended by his high pitched woman voice imitation- trying to give him notice to stop. He did not. It did seem as his two helpers were made a little uncomfortable by it also. They moved my stuff, thought it was made more stressful than it needed to be, and I probably won't use them again. The person I spoke to on the phone was polite - too bad he didn't do the move.
