I have them 5 stars and I was shocked to see they have an overall 2 star rating on Yelp. This was the "BEST" experience of any big box home improvement store I have ever been to. I came in for a $20 product for cleaning and shining wood floors. I was immediately greeted by the back end floor manger Kris and an employee Sylvia. They were the picture of customer service. Friendly, polite, professional and spent about 30 minutes, not giving up on what I was looking for (see attached video) even going on a high lo to retrieve this product. The store is big, bright, well lit, well stocked, great selection, prices and has well trained employees who know their stock. They work very well as a team. I will definitely go back to this Lowe's and I will definitely go back again. read more

This is the most inept bunch of people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I tried to order some doors. We finally got it all squared away, but when it came time to pay, the invoice had no itemization as to product type, color, sku, taxes and all the other details you would expect to be on your invoice before you pay close to $3,000 for purchase and installation. Besides that, there was additional material on the order that no one told me was necessary. Since there was no breakdown of the items and services I was purchasing, I decided to cancel. I would have liked to give this location 5 stars but I cannot. I placed an online order and chose to pickup in store. The order was ready for pickup in about 30 minutes. That was good. When I arrived, I checked in on line then headed inside. I was not happy to find out that I had to wait in line behind 3 other people who were returning items to pick up my order. 20 minutes is an unacceptable wait time for an order that was ready and the store was empty. read more

Service: asked 5 people for assistance, saw 2 people when I walked in, 1 looked in my direction the other looked the other way, I asked for what I was looking for 1 looked at the other, I was sent to an aisle that did not have what I needed, saw 2 more workers and again asked, 1 looked for the information on her device only to find they didn't have it but they did when I looked independently, 1 person who was with her adamantly stated they did have the item which he never checked and agajn they did after deciding to leave 1 person asked me if I needed help at this time I had no energy. After going to my car to confirm the aisle I went back the aisle was there the section was not, I showed this information to a 5th worker who stated it should be there but never checked with me or assisted me in finding my item in any way. I'm surprised to see so many negative reviews. For gardening needs this is where you want to be. The outdoor garden center is absolutely massive. Any and every type of plant / tree / herb you could imagine. Plants of all different colors, shapes and sizes. It could take hours just to decide what you'd like to purchase. I have many outdoor plants from this location and they've all held up great. Prices are fair -- I live in Jersey City and some of the local garden centers here can be really overpriced. Their planter selection is small, so a pro-tip would be to head to the Home Goods up the road after for better selection and prices. The rest of the store is fine -- clean, spacious and lots of staff wandering around to answer questions. I've been in a few times over a weekend and usually there is never much of a wait. When I placed my order, their website said they had 350 pieces of the product I needed. I scheduled the delivery and the night before delivery they said it was out of stock for a week. I really appreciate this Lowes! We've been doing work on our Staten Island home and have had to visit the Bayonne Lowes and the Staten Is (forest Ave) location. After visiting both locations quite frequently-Bayonne is top tier. I never have a problem receiving help. You see workers available and working. This Lowe's location in Bayonne is great. This is a very big store. Lots of space in each aisle, and I never feel crowded when walking around in here. They have everything you can think of, that you will need for your house, apartment, car, or whatever you plan on fixing up. Ordered a stacked, gas Washer/dryer. Delivery driver showed up and said, "You ordered the wrong one." No, they brought the wrong one -- the electric version (yes, we checked our receipt). Took off without any explanation and then marked the item as "delivered." Couldn't get the Lowes store on the phone for 25 minutes to find out what even happened. They outsource to a "fullfillment" company who I called and they offered no help or explanation. Guy said, "Why are you calling me?" Communication was also TERRIBLE - no advance notice -- all the texts showed up at the same time ("delivery arriving soon"/"delivery is here"/"item delivered" all sent at the same time!). Finally got through to Lowes via chat online. No offer to replace -- just "you'll have to reschedule." No thanks, I'll take a refund. They said it will take 72 hours for them even to VERIFY that I didn't receive the item. Took the day off work for this and I still don't have a working washer/dryer. And they have my $1600. Nightmare! Have used Lowes for years, and heard their service went downhill -- kind of an understatement. Will never purchase from them again. This place is your typical home-improvement store. Unfortunately the couple times I've been there the people working here to help you out which it home improvement store you think that they would be ready for this type of task. One time I had a question about lightbulbs and the people looked at me like I was an idiot. Wouldn't even show me where to find the correct light bulb in the aisle just pointed me in the right direction mind you the store was not crowded and this was before Covid. I have been back since Covid and their plant and nursery selection is very sparse and they have a lot of people standing around but not many doing much of anything. Although there was no line unlike Home Depot which had huge lines I think I would rather go there for a better customer service. read more

First time customer to this branch and picked up some light bulbs and replacement locks. Only one checkout lane open and so I decided to use the self-checkout. I suppose it is early in a Saturday morning and no one manning the customer service station. Scanned the items except 2 which needed employee intervention. I had to stop someone twice so they can enter their credentials. Finally all the items were scanned and point of sale can proceed. Swiped the card, digital signature, the POS did not respond. Kept asking for my signature over and over. Had to stop another employee who proceeded to call another who had the number for technical support. I had to check out using the regular way and ended up having to sign digitally 2 times and 1 on the receipt. It took over 30 minutes on an early Saturday morning to check out 5 items. I was told I was not charged the first time yet there are 2 processing payments on my credit card status. The bottom line: an awful experience for the most basic procedure. read more

Fantastic experiences at this location! I've come here a bunch of times over the years and they always have what I need and the employees have always been extremely helpful. From helping us choose flooring, ordering samples, help with bigger and smaller purchases, finding items, being knowledgable about products and their use to just being all around friendly, helpful people! Had an awful experience with my refrigerator delivery last August. The 1st fridge was defective. Had issues with exchanging for another one. The sales people and the delivery people weren't on the same page, resulting in the customer being misinformed. It was a very frustrating and unpleasant experience. I had a much easier time with Sears previously. Other experiences at Lowe's were OK, and I still prefer Lowe's over Home Depot. read more

8/2/2020 Lowes Bayonne, NJ I order a fridge that was supposed to be delivered last week. XPO the delivery service for Lowes stood me up twice and changed the delivery time the day of delivery 3 times and when I called they finally told me it was cancelled by a Lowes manager that day.. this also happened the first time it was supposed to be delivered even though I got confirmation several times that day already! Called Lowes, and the Customer service rep confirmed that the fridge is on the truck for delivery and when I explained what XPO said, she told me I will get it today.. I told her I can't just sit around and wait for hours.. AGAIN and if she can call their delivery service to confirm, she first told me no, then told me it's not her problem.. she's not Shipping.. said BYE.. and just threw me back in the queue.. called back several times just to keep getting put on hold and finally I gave up.. obviously still haven't received the fridge even though they actually already took payment ahead of delivery! I am now trying cancelling the order! Lowes Bayonne has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with and their delivery service is 10x worse! This is the worst lowes I've ever been in . I thought I went back in time to Rickles in jersey City ... not only the people that there are clueless just as expected. For 8$ per hour but the store is poorly stocked items are damaged and missing parts on the shelf. Incredible that a store this new can be in such poor shape. We had purchased A GE Range from Lowes which was defective in that the oven door would not stay in the 45degree fully open position, but kept springing up to nearly fully closed. Because of this, the only way to remove a pan was to put one knee on the door while holding the pan with both hands, or get someone else to hold the door open while the pan was removed. As the hinges did not appear to be adjustable we called Lowes service dept and booked aservice call. At that time we were informed that if the issue was not covered by warranty we would have to pay for the service call. I responded that surely you must know whether a door that did not stay open was covered or not? The person responded that it would be up to the service person to decide that, but I would have to agree to pay for the call if it was not covered. I reluctantly agreed only because without a service call we could not use the oven safely. An appointment was then scheduled. The repair man proclaimed that it was beyond repair as the chassis itself was twisted, which was probably caused by having being dropped and advised us to request an exchange. I then phoned customer service at the Lowes store and explained the situation and asked for an exchange, after having had the range for only a week. After providing them with the requested details regarding invoice #, date of prurchase etc, etc. I was informed that I would have to physically visit the store with the stove and make a return and would recieve a refund. I told them that I did not want a refund and that I wanted them to deliver a new one and at the same time pick up the defective one. They again repeated their policy. At that point I asked to speak with the store manager at which point I was put on hold after which their policy was once again repeated. I pointed out that as it was originally delivered by Lowes and having been confirmed unrepairable it should be exchanged for a new one at their expence. I also mentioned that I did not have a suitable vehicle in order to return it to the store and as I am pushing 80 did not want to attempt to load it on my own even if I did rent a truck. If I were to contract with a moving outfit to make the return how long would it be before we would receive a replacement, and would I be required to arrange for pick up? All I got was a response that "I have already spoken to my manager, and that is the best we can do for you". read more

One girl in customer service was very polite and helpful to her potential. She came over to the paint center to try and help me. She couldn't put in the right codes to get the matching color. This Lowes sucks! I ordered a door on 7/2/2015 and ETA is 8/6/2015. From the beginning of the process I was worried about delays and specifically told the person at Lowes who placed the order. He assured me oh it only takes about 3 weeks, should be earlier than ETA. Lowes will call you when the door is in. Ok, 3 weeks pass and I'm anxious to get my door for my new office. I call Lowes and remind me the ETA is 8/6. Then I call a few days later and then once again a few days later after that. All Lowes kept telling me was the estimated time of arrival 8/6. I call on 8/5 late afternoon and 8/6 morning. Finally, I'm like if it's not here, can you check if it actually shipped from vendor? Finally, they call the vendor and the door is delayed due to wrong part and new ETA is 8/21! So frustrating! Very unprofessional and shows complete lack of training to Lowes customer service. Grossly unprofessional idiots who don't know what they are doing is standard employee at both the local store and at the corporate level. PLEASE for your own sake never use Lowes to havev anything installed in your home. If there is a way to wrong Lowes will find it. There installers are either pompous butt wipes or untrained and unskilled people who will mess up both the job and your home. On average takes 3 months or more for any installation to be finalized.I know this from experience. I've had lights, apliances, fans, roman shades and doors installed through Lowes through the years. Each and EVERY time they F-ed up the project.My dishwaher was installed 2 weeks after the date given and at an angle.....yep its not set straight under the counter. This has created issues requiring a repairman to come out to my home a number of times.My kitchen fan was instaled crooked! It made such a loud noise my neighbors complained. Lowes sent the same crappie company out again to "fix" it. The ass wipes did nothing at all to remedy the situation. Their customers do all the leg work as you will to if you are as stupid as me and use Lowes. The manufacturer had to send me a replacement fan as the original one was rendered useless. My roman shade fiasco is the worst situation so far. It started in Oct. of 2015 and did not end til I put a stop to it in April of 2016! That installation was so incredibly AWFUL and the installer such a jerk that after 4 visits to my home and after destroying my plaster work around my windows and after ruining one of the 4 perfectly good custom made shades the manufacturer had to send a replacement. Of course the installer could or would not get his act together to re-install it or pick it up even at the store which by the way was an extra fee I PAID for.I ended up finishing the job myself. I had to do it as one of the men sent to me was so stupid he actually used my power drill and inseted a screwdriver also belonging to me into the drill.The screwdriver was used in in lieu of a drill bit because the installer didn't have any drill bits. This caused the problem with a screwdriver broke and went flying through the air nearly hitting my eyes. The installer was using my own drill because he didn't have a working one with him. This is the type of idiots you're going to be getting when you use them for any sort of installed work.Even something simple like a installation of an employment will go wrong because the people that they have delivering the appliances are complete morons. For example I recently had a stove installed. The installers got lost and I had to contact there customer service phone number a number of times to give him directions to come back to my house because they said I was not home when it fast I was waiting at home all day. I have to say that at least in this situation the stove is working. My current disaster involves the installation of a kitchen door. They are first installer said that they would be able to do the job but later refuse. Now in a normal situation this store would contact me to tell me that this job cannot be done that wasn't the situation with this store. I had to go to them and you will have to go to them to each and every time something goes wrong. Nobody reaches out to you unless you start screaming and yelling at them like you're a lunatic. So my suggestion is that's what you need to do threaten them threaten them threaten them threaten them and threaten them some more. That's the only way you going to get anything resolved with them.They then arranged another installer to come out to take measurements this installer seemed to be able to do the job however nobody from their installed sales division ever contacted me. I've had to visit the store countless times, I've had to go into the store and question them over and over again as to when this job is going to be completed. I've had to email Lowe's at the corporate level to no avail. I've had to message them through the app to no avail. I've had to call their installed sales Division and I've gotten nowhere at all whatsoever. I've also called a regular toll free customer service line and gotten nowhere. The latest update on this is that the installer has not received the paperwork from the store but of course you know the installed sales division is too incompetent to actually orchestrate this installation you the customer have to do it you the customer have to do everything with them to get a job completed you're doing all the work honestly I see no reason to even pay them a cent since you're doing all the work. You would think a loyal customer would be treated better than a bum on the street but that's not the case here. As a customer everything has to be put onto your shoulders to be done in order to finalize the work. Don't expect any cooperation whatsoever. Yes they're very polite and nice at the store level but highly incompetent as the company is as a whole. read more

Horrible experience. I ordered flooring for a walk in closet. I was quoted a rough estimate on $200 - $300 dollars I ordered it in August 22, 2017. October 1, 2017 still no flooring. So, I called ( 3rd time). The new estimate was $700.00. $65.00 to move a dresser. $75.00 to dispose of carpet ( which I would take up). $300.00 for installation. This place is crazy. I would never ever shop here again. The worst experience I ever had with flooring. AVOID at ALL costs. read more

Lowe's is great. Lowe's has a ton of things for your home. Staff knowledge is always hit or miss. They have an almost no questions asked return policy on their tools. The best part is if you mess up on getting tools that may not work, they have an awesome, liberal policy returns. I have returned tools that didn't do the job, and even boxes!
