I am a frequent Lowes shopper that has complained on numerous occasions about zero sense of urgency or desire to aid customers among its staff. The store manager treats every complaint as a one-off and refuses to address systemic issues. They have placed at the online pickup desk a lady that due to medical issues doesn't want to help customers lift heavy objects they have ordered. On more than a few visits, I have observed female employees at the service desk holding random chats while waiting for other employees to pull orders instead of doing it themselves to get the customer in and out quickly. read more

Helpful and available staff. Extensive selection. I stopped in the other night after work to grab one item and I was greeted at the door with a smile and a welcome, which is a nice touch for what can be an intimidatingly large store. I interacted with three different associates during my time at Lowe's, and all were friendly and helpful. I feel like sometimes it can be hard to flag people down in a store like this, but it was very easy that night. (Granted, it was not a weekend!) I got what I came for and was in and out in a matter of ten minutes - impressive! I definitely plan on returning as this location is conveniently on my commute home from work. If I could give Lowe's 0 stars I would. Worst company ever next to Comcast. I ordered Trex decking on 6/6/20. Delivery was set for the 27th which was a bit far away, but I ordered it anyway. It was not delivered. When I called they said sorry, we will deliver on the 29th. Nope. I received 2 calls from their delivery company extending my window until 8pm on the 29th but they never showed. After 45 minutes on hold with Lowe's they told me my order was not scheduled to be delivered because they had not received 4 of my 29 pieces. When were they going to tell me that? Incompetent idiots. Will never purchase anything from Lowes again. Purchase a washing machine online from one Lowes CT location, 5 minutes later receive a call saying they don't have the model, offer me no further assistance. Okay, no problem, find the same washer model at a different location Lowes, purchase online (states they have 2 in stock), 5 minutes later receive a call that they don't have any in stock. Alright, this makes little sense, inventory should be updated online fairly instantaneously if purchased on the floor. Once again, the person I speak with offers little to no assistance. I find this same model at a 3rd Lowes Store in CT, once again there are 2 in stock, place the online order. Receive a call the next morning that they are "damaged" or whatever nonsense. Can someone explain to me what is going on? And as usual, little to no customer service assistance. Dishwasher went dead on Christmas day. We called Lowes, clicked on the Bosch option. Bosch told us that we have to call Lowes, not them. Why put an option for Bosch, if they won't assist? So, called back, got a scheduled date for a repair company to come out. The repair company called us, saying they don't service our area (They are 15 miles away). You would think they would notify Lowes? So, we call back Lowes several times. No new schedule, other saying we have to wait. Guess what, not waiting. We will NEVER buy another appliance from Lowes. As it stands, tomorrow is 5 days from the initial call. that means, they have to replace the dishwasher for free. This review is specific to the rental Bissell carpet cleaner. Easy to rent, the employee was nice (if not very knowledgeable about the product) and the machine did a great job. There's also a manufacturer coupon online you can use. I subtracted a star because even though the employee told me both machines had just been cleaned, one of them was filled with wet black sand from a prior user. I recommend opening up the tanks before taking the machine to confirm that it's clean. read more

I tried to return 2 items. One I had the receipt for and they wouldn't accept it because it was over 90 days. So, I asked for a store credit and they still would not take it back and they still have the product in stock! I hadn't returned it prior because it was tile and the job took longer than expected. I think this was unreasonable - I wasn't asking for cash. I just wanted to return the item, in the original un-opened package. The 2nd item was 2 faucets that were bought and now that the bathroom is almost complete, I need a 4" center not 8". Since we moved I could not find the receipt and did not know how it was paid for so they would not do an EXCHANGE. All I wanted to do was to switch the faucets for the same brand but the correct ones. They would not do this and they would not take the incorrect ones back. I understand not giving cash back but they were not losing money - I was switching for possibly a more expensive faucet. I asked for the manager and he would not accept it either. I think this policy is ridiculous. So I guess you have to be POSITIVE that you made the correct purchase or make sure you have what you need because it is impossible to work with these people. I guess I go across the street to HOME DEPOT. They did not have the brand i purchased but I may have to find another comparable brand. They absolutely treated me like I had STOLEN the items and was trying to get cash back - NOT THE CASE! Jenn Drury assistant store manager has a "0" customer service rating as far as I am concerned. I had purchased a bag of grout and due to the pandemic my contractor was just getting around to our tiling job. Pulled out the very poorly marked bag of grout (color is not obvious from the bag or the markings) I had pre-ordered to realize that Lowes has given me the wrong color at the locker pickup. I called ahead to make sure I could exchange it for the gray grout that I actually ordered and they said since it was way past the return period they could only give me a store credit. I went the same evening to pick up the correct color and Jenn Drury refused to complete the exchange because I did not know the name of the person I spoke to. Had my receipt even know they said I didn't need it. Online they show show they had 25lb bags of both colors in stock at her location. Complete waste of time and my money...will not be shopping there again. Too bad because I preferred Lowes before she came along. read more

My fiancé and I use this Lowe's because it's closest but it is awful and we will take the extra time to drive to the next town over. We've finally had enough. Every time we go for help no one is available or are unable to answer our questions. We went today and waited over 20 minutes after asking for help, having help for us paged 5 times, and just waited at the customer service desk while no one apologized or attempted to go find someone by foot. The majority of the people who work here have a lazy, crappy attitude and terrible customer service skills. I typically don't frequent this location (after one too many experiences with associates who literally said "I don't know" and offered NO FURTHER HELP when asked a specific question), but had to go there today to pick up an online order. The customer service desk was a hot mess, and I was treated with the same crappy attitude I always am when I go in. Judging from other reviews here, my experience isn't atypical. Management, wake up. I shop here quite often and sometimes sales staff are nowhere to be found. However, today was exceptional. I was shopping for a specific Valspar metallic spray paint which I found online. A friendly sales person asked if she could help, I showed her the pic on my phone and she went to the spot where it should have been...there were none. She looked up the item number on the computer and retrieved the monstrous ladder. She checked all the boxes on the top overstock shelves and the boxes underneath the displays. Then together we checked all the shelves in case they were misplaced. She even took me to another spot in the store where discounted paints were just in case they were there. It was possible the four cans of spray paint that were supposed to be in stock were purchased earlier. Finally, she suggested I call the store midweek to check the stock level before driving back to the store. I thanked her several times for going to such great lengths to help me find my item. This place is a joke. My second and final terrible experience with this den of idiocy. Going against my Best judgment and previous personal experience at the store I purchased a Whirlpool dishwasher that was on sale. I was in the store about 10 minutes before I decided which dishwasher I wanted, the sales person that I dealt with was incredibly slow, untrained, and needed to run to the manager for every simple question I asked about the dishwasher or about the service of it being installed. It took another hour and a half just to finalize the transaction. He was attempting to charge me a $35 consultation fee so an installer could come and look at the unit we have in our house now to see if the new unit would actually go in the same place. After a manager or another idiot came over and was correcting the first idiot he was able to just set up delivery and installation without a previous consult and I didn't have to come back to the store to purchase the dishwasher. I tried explaining to them I wanted to buy it today so I could take advantage of the sale price I didn't want to have to come back in a week after they had a consult, what's the first guy was trying to have me do which makes no sense whatsoever. Simple removal and haul away of an old dishwasher and installation of a new one electric and plumbing, not something that should be difficult for an appliance store. But the store really loves to make things difficult on themselves and on the customers. After the lengthy transaction process (it took the one guy three times in about 25 minutes to just log into his account) we were able to purchase the dishwasher with the protection plan, because I knew we would need the protection plan because these people are idiots and take advantage of the sale price and the veterans discount, Also purchasing the proper hardware for install which is an electrical cord and a water installation kit. We were informed that the installer would call us within 48 hours and that he would bring everything he needed to install the unit. The installers dispatcher called and made an appointment Tuesday evening then Wednesday morning I get a call from Lowe's saying installer would not bring the dishwasher because it was damaged and Lowes was blaming the vendor. I find it hard to believe they only had one model in that model was damaged where it couldn't be installed. I had even asked the idiot sales rep to check to make sure that they had one in the back so I could be purchased ASAP and he replied that they had one in the back ready to go. Saying will take another 7 to 10 days just to get the unit to the store and then another week or so to get it installed at the house. What a nightmare. Unfortunately nothing is worked out so far and I'll probably be yelping again to deal with the further idiocy with dealing with it being mailed on time and installation and proper installation and it's the right unit and it's working properly and all the other things that go along with the new $500 appliance. Do not buy an appliance that needs to be installed from the store, the time and energy wasted on their human error and idiocy is not worth going to another store and having it done correctly with halfway decent service. I will never spend another dime at any Lowe's ever again. read more

Went to this Lowes to buy a few screws and some hardware for a simple project. I got here first thing in the morning and waited for over 20 minutes for help from an employee. When I hunted one down and asked for help he simply told me he is not a hardware specialist and that he will try to find someone for me. Another 10 minutes and I ask the customer service desk to call someone. Finally, when someone came they were a little rude and actually did not know how to help me. So then I was asked to wait again. I came in Lowe's after work one day hoping to get in and out FAST. All I needed was one key made - not too complicated. When I entered the store, the key making station is about 15-20 steps from the front door at a maximum, so I had a pretty easy time finding it. However, there was no one working the counter and no one in sight! No problem, since I was right in front of the customer service desk as well. I turned around and headed to Customer Service where there were THREE associates just hanging around chatting. They saw me, but did NOT acknowledge me in any way. Grrrrrrrrr!!!!!! I was just about to start seeing red and letting my displeasure be known when a guy came out of one of the isles and asked me if I needed any help. Thank goodness! This guy was friendly and helpful and had a smile on his face. He was able to help me with copying my key and had me on my way pretty quickly. Beyond my experience with this one guy, the rest of the people there were pretty much useless. So, thanks key guy for making my experience a little bit better than it would have otherwise been! read more

I never thought I would order windows from Lowes but.... I was pleasantly surprised!!!!! I purchase from Lowes a new bay window and replaced 3 windows. Mark Newton representative (contractor) from Lowes was very professional and amazing!!!! He arrived at my home and patiently presented several options of Bay windows that would meet my needs and efficiency. He walked me through the process and explained step by step all the work required to install my new windows. After the installation process was completed successfully by Edward Bakula (also did an amazing job) I had additional work done on my home where one of the new windows was damaged. I immediately called Mark Newton - Again- going above and beyond the call of duty he ordered a new window and also came by to replace my window. I am very impressed and pleased with the services provided by Lowes!!! Thank you!!! read more

on 12/30/17 at 13:00 hrs i attempted to contact the department that carries roll shades, two times i called the dayville ct store without anyone answering in said department. after the third call, i spoke with joanne(the only joanne) from the front end, who apparently takes calls from the public. i explained that i have been transferred to an empty extension two times and wish this not happen again. she stated if i was being rude she would end this call, i attempted to explain that i don't want to be transferred to an empty extension again. at this time she disconnected the call. i then called back two more times, one of which i was disconnected and then had the pleasure to speak with megan who is a manager and explained this entire situation. i was never transferred to or asked if i wanted to speak with a manager by joanne. i feel she is rude and ask that she be removed from that position. i manage buildings and contract, i not only don't have the time for this email, but certainly don't have the time for rude and unwilling employees to take up my time and the people who rely on me to get things done. this entire situation was only escalated by joanne and i must say she is the only one that was rude and abrasive. i was told her shift ended at 13:00 hrs said date and really don't this this was the case, i was also told the store had nobody on shift i could speak with other than manager megan. i wait your reply and ask the store remove joanne from the front customer service center. thank you in advance. read more

Terrible store, was there on the 9 th of Dec. no one in flooring, pushed the need service button 3 times, waited at least 20 minutes, finally called the corporate office. The nice young lady from paint finally came over. She helped out and was good. Where was the store manager? If he heard that notice going off he should have put his coffee and cookie down and gone over there. Now I order 34 boxes of flooring. A very nice young man helped me, said it was in stock in the warehouse they had 100 boxes I need 34, no problem the warehouse is less than 60 miles away should be here on the 14th of Dec. today the 17th and it's not here, contractor coming no flooring! Talked to a nice manager will have someone contact me in morning. I'll wait to see if I get my material. I was a contractor for 30 years and all I can say is WOW on how this store is operated. I went into a store to shop and the store had no fliers to see what was on sale, I ask to see a flyer but none were avaible at the door area so i asked CS if i could browse the store copy at the desk, but they had none which i could not believe, they told me the were thrown out, nobody at the customer service desk could help find one. I asked for a manager which they also could not get. I then ask to show me the flyer online but they told me there computer does not show them the flyer on the internet, i told them "I don't believe you". Six people could not or would not help me see the flyer, what a usless customer service. In fustration i walked around and a electrical salesperson asked if he could help me, so i told him "Yes, since Customer service was useless can you give me access to the internet so i can look at the flyers" within 30 seconds i was looking at the flyer via internet using the electrical dept terminal.
