I saved the receipt and my husband went to the store to return the sand. Creepy privacy policy. It's no wonder they have signs posted warning about their (anti)privacy practices. Facial recognition, tracking of what isles you enter, logging of what products you check out with, license plate readers, and more. Yikes. The staff are...fine. In some categories, they have a nice selection. However in many other categories, they have one single option. The prices are comparable to Home Depot, sometimes a little lower. I honestly believe the sales staff and management in the Bloomfield store hate customers. Ironic since our patronage pays their salaries. I called the store yesterday to check quantities before making the trip over. The phone rang more than 100 times before it was answered. I was told there was a "ton" of the tile I needed, though it was apparent the sales person never actually checked. Once there, amazingly there was not enough and their inventory count was way off. Other stores quite a distance away had the tile, but neither the salesperson nor the assistant manager would have the merchandise transferred or delivered to me. This is the dregs of customer service when you, the retailer, have made the error and wasted everybody's time. To put it simply, a terrible store that should just shut down. I went to Lowe 's to look for a specific towel rack for my parents bathroom. This store is huge. They have all kinds of tools, and items for every part of your home. When I had just purchased my home, I was here pretty much every day, with my dad or my boyfriend looking for something for my house. My screen door is from Lowe's, my living room paint color is from Lowe's, just to name a few. I came across a very friendly sales associate, Jamie who chatted with me for a while and told me they don't have that exact towel rack in store, but I could order it online. This isn't ideal, because I did come to the store to purchase it, but shipping only takes two days. While Lowe's isn't my favorite store, I like going here with someone knowledgeable about the product and their uses. The staff I've encountered has been very friendly and helpful. Came to this Lowe's to buy paint and it seems like nobody was working. When somebody finally did come over he knew nothing about the paint and had no idea what base I needed for the color I wanted. The only thing worse than Lowe's AI telephone service is the Bloomfield store's in-house customer service. It is obvious the sales people have no training. More than that, they don't care. A "salesperson" answered the phone without identifying himself, his department, or even the store. When I asked him if he wanted the item number for the product on which I wanted to check availability, HE HUNG UP. He should be fired. This review is a little after the fact. We purchased a suite of appliances in Nov of 2023, the appliances had to be ordered and the delivery was completed in the spring of 2024. We were in Fla until late spring of 2024, and had arranged access for the installation. when we arrived onsite every thing appeared satisfactory. However, when we started using the appliance several problems arose with two of the units; the dishwasher front panel was dinged and the refrigerator door had slipped in alignment and the icemaker did not work. Upon further inspection it was obvious the refrigerator had been dropped or damaged in transit. we contacted the store explaining the problem but they said their responsibility ended one install was completed. The local service co was able to repair the door and repairs to the ice maker are tenuous at this time. the moral is when they install you must pay complete attention to them! we'll know better next time. read more

I have preferred Lowes to Home Depot since its inception. Simply put this LOWES is the absolute worst store Ive ever been too . On Wed 1/22/23 I went in to purchase a refrigerator for my garage. After placing an online order for a refrigerator, I decided to cancel it and travel to my local Lowes to see it in person since they had one in stock. This is where the excitement began... for me to convey the story adequately, please allow me to narrate the ordeal between me and the du**a**s "Appliance Manager." Me: Hi ma'am, I canceled my online order for this fridge and came in to check it out. I like it, and I'd like to order it in-store. Appliance Manager: Well, in-store prices are different from online prices, and we don't honor our online prices. Me: OoooKkkkk???? So how much is the fridge with the current promotion posted all over the store stating $500 off? Appliance Manager: I can't tell you that until I check you out and you pay for the appliance? Me: That doesn't sound right??? Appliance Manager: You can also get $100 off if you apply for a Lowes credit card. Me: hmm... that sound like a steal. Are you sure you can stack coupons like that? Appliance Manager: I can't tell you until I check you out with the credit card. Me: Why would I have to apply for a credit card to know the price of my order. Let's walk up to the front of the store and see if their system works. Me: Ma'am, I'm seriously getting frustrated that you ran a hard credit inquiry on me, and the card isn't working. I just wanted the price I had online, and I'll be on my way. I can use my bank credit card at this point. Appliance Manager: The coupon only works if you use the Lowes Credit card. Me: But your system doesn't work, so how is that possible? Can't you just have a manager honor the price? Appliance Manager: Oh nooo... I've seen people get fired for that. Appliance Manager: I'm as frustrated as you are; let me talk to the manager. 30 minutes later... Appliance Manager: The fridge doesn't qualify for the promotion in-store. Sometimes online promotions don't apply in-store to certain brands. Instead of giving you $500 off, I can get you $300, and you can't get the $100 for applying for the card. Appliance Manager: The price of the fridge is now $2700 Me: (Clearly pissed at this point)... how is the fridge $2100 online, $2300 in the back of the store, and $2700 now? Appliance Manager: Well, you have to cash out for the discount to be applied. Me: Ok, just use my bank credit card and check me out. No lie, she hands me a receipt for $2700... Me: WTF... I can get you $300 off; that's the best I can do. Me: Sigh... you're not doing me a favor. I came into the store, and you didn't honor your online pricing; then you had me sign up for a credit card that I can't use to get a discount that you won't honor, and now the fridge is more expensive than when we started even with your $300 "discount." After two total hours, I left the store visibly upset. I called back to speak to the store manager, who seemed a bit condescending. She offered to sell me the fridge for the online price. This review is kinda tricky. I love the selection and style of most items in the store. Shelves are normally well stocked and asile are spotless. So why only 2 stars? Customer service in the front end is lacking. Most cashiers are quick to greet each other but hardly have any words for the customers. And I did say most, there are few exceptions to the rule, especially those who work in appliances or other departments are always helpful. This store also doesn't have any self checkout and normally only 1-2 cashiers working so lines can be long. Only reason I return on a regular basis is conviene of location. read more

Their slogan for on-line sales is " shop, click, pick up". Sadly, another word rhyming with "brew" or "truck" would have been better suited to precede 'up'. Here's the play-by-play. I ordered some samples on-line Monday morning. A few hours later, I received an e-mail telling me "Your Lowe's order is ready for pick up". Cool ! So I went here about 4:00, approached the Customer Service counter and said "I'm here to pick up my order". The rep went over to a caged in area where the on-line orders are presumably kept, she looked inside, and the order wasn't there. She called the appropriate department. I waited, She called the appropriate department again. I waited again. Three reps huddled together and whispered. I waited more. She said "I'm getting a manager". I waited. She said "the manager said she can't find the order, so she's putting a new order together. I took a stroll through the store and came back 20 minutes later. One clerk pointed at me and said to another clerk "that's the guy who's waiting". One asked me "are you waiting for the samples?" I said yes. She said nothing more to me. Waited longer. Someone said "the manager is coming with your order". Manager came out with my order, except some pieces were missing -turns out they weren't in stock. The website said they were in stock, just like the website said my order was ready for pick up four hours earlier. Manager apologized and zeroed out my bill. OK, so let's try to make some sense out of this abysmal debacle. It's hard to pinpoint the exact point of failure. Is it the on-line ordering process, where the website makes promises the store can't keep? Is it at the store level where the person who picked the order failed to complete the task? Was it the customer service desk who made me wait almost an hour to resolve this? Take your pick. I will commend the store manager who was genuinely apologetic and picked up the mess that her colleagues made for her. She was a bright spot in this dismal afternoon of systematic incompetence and wasted time. read more

The employees are not helpful and a little rude. We had an issue where the price advertised did not match the price that came up on register. First, they do not have cashiers, so after the helper called the department and employee came, we went and showed the price. He said oh it is this one. So we took that one back to register still wrong price. They did not change price to the one advertised! They would not find someone with authority to change price. However, Lowes tried to ship a replacement, which I cancelled that delivery. The Last Mile company confirmed item returned the item to Bloomfield, CT Lowes on July 30. After numerous phone calls to Corporate Customer Care and numerous calls and trips to Bloomfield Customer Service the Lowes charge remains on my Lowes Credit card. I truly regret doing business for appliances at Lowes. The worst customer service I have ever experience. I wasted several hours trying to fix their error. Just left the Lowes in Bloomfield, CT. There were two women employees working there, one who walked right at me as I was on my way to the exit, and one that was standing by the exit door. Both looked at me straight in the eye with no expression, if any it was not a welcoming look, then looked away . I am unsure why one of the women was standing by the out going door, she obviously did not have the personality to either greet customers or to say have a good day. Please tell your workers a smile and or pleasantry can go a long way. Possibly they are in the wrong field of work, and should not be working with the public. I was in the electrical aisle for an hour and a half picking out all the parts I needed for my project, not one inquiry from a passing staff member that whole time. I inquire at one point with a "Do you work in this department?" to which I get a "No" with no offer of helping find someone who does. The female cashier was really friendly, however. As another reviewer pointed out, checking out always seems to take a long time at this Lowes. Last time I was in Lawn & Garden it took forever to process a few people. We were buying porch and patio things. I spent waaaay too much - but in this case I actually felt good about it. The displays of furniture, umbrellas and fire-pits were well-organized, attractive, and full of really nice things that I'd like to have outside our humble abode. We were helped by a staffer, and also asked by a "team-leader," I guess a manager (his name was James), if we needed help. We didn't (I'm old and tend to appear disoriented to millennials). But it was nice that someone asked. At Lowes' competition, employees are painfully difficult to find (I'm convinced that they've perfected a way to hide from help-seekers like myself. Customer service sucks in this location, they take forever to answer the phone. When they do, they leave you on hold for long periods of time. The system they are using is not accurate. The store told me my product was in the store and was going to be delivered the next day. It was not delivered for another week and when it came it was broken. It took over 6weeks to get my new product. I paid for a delivery and the company that delivered my package left it outside in my complex (not a house). Lowes told me they were supposed to uncrate and bring it in, both deliveries they told me that it's their contract they don't bring items in nor will they uncrate my package. There is a huge disconnect with their delivery service and customer service. I was told I was going to get a call from the manager after placing an escalated ticket. Never did. It was a terrible experience and I don't recommend this location. They need some serious training in all areas from the management to the front desk. I am a big fan of this store for one reason. Diane. Diane is a gardening guru who belongs in the gardening department, not out in the parking lot with a radio waiting for a car to pull up. I saw her there on Saturday, smiling at me as usual, under a tent. Diane has helped me with my plant selections, tree choices and has checked me out numerous times over the years. She is the most pleasant person and knows the names of her customers. She works varied hours, has been part time forever, which is something that I do not get because she is not only talented, but intelligent as hell and a hard worker. I would like to see her interacting or interfacing with customers, not out in a chair- nothing personal, but that is ridiculous. Everyone is nice in gardening, but Diane is like our family here in our household- My hope is that is she will will be waiting on me inside on my next visit. read more

Anne Marie in cabinets is really great at designing a kitchen and getting it to you. She goes the extra mile and communication is fabulous. She follows it until your satisfied. Really impressed with the cabinet department . As with all Lowe's they are definitely not the small town hardware store with walk in customer service. Returns , customer service desk or just general assistance you will need awesome patience and understanding. This store is painfully lite on help. Horrible service in the appliance department. They use a 3rd party delivery company. The set up appointments and after waiting for them the entire day, they don't show up and don't even call you. It turns out that many times they don't even have the appliance they sold to you....but they don't even CALL you to tell you that!!!!! Then when you try to call the store you literally cannot get ahold of someone....nobody answers the phone. The 3rd party delivery service uses a call center in the Philllipines or wherever and you cannot get ahold of anyone who is accountable to the order. Basically it's tough luck for the customer. I STRONGLY advise against using Lowe's for your appliance needs!!! They used to be very diligent and responsive...what HAPPENED!!!! I'm guessing some financial suit person tried to get clever tweaking an excel spreadsheet found a way to save a few pennies with the Philippines call center and the customer-NO-service "delivery company" that doesn't even CALL you when they're not coming and don't even HAVE what they sold you! Some visits here are just a headscratcher. I've been in and out of Lowes consistently over the last year for a variety of house projects, and experiences are a mixed bag. Some days are fine - a quick in and out, and others - like today - are just plain frustrating. I went to the paint center for a paint sample, and one employee took the swatch info from me to mix it up. I came back ten minutes later and found out that he LEFT (went on break? walked off the job? left for the day? The other employee had no idea) so I had to give the paint info all over again. And wait, all over again. This entire ordeal took around 40 minutes. Annnnd, sadly, this isn't the first time something like this has happened. I simply asked an employee where to find a specialty screw, I understand not everyone is a specialist... but to be told to go to the manager while the employee was on the phone? I've always felt Lowe's in Bloomfield offered a better experience than their competitor in the same town. It's better lit so I don't feel like I'm stumbling around in dark aisles, employees seem generally happy and willing to help. I needed 4x4" wood fence poles to paint a Peace Pole and employee Matt (who knows what a Peace Pole is) was readily available, marking sure he pulled out the best posts for me. After I checked out another clerk asked if I needed help loading my car with these. It's nice to shop in a store where you don't feel you're hesistent to ask for help. Also the posts at Lowes were in better shape than the competitor, I always felt the competitor was more interested in catering to contractors than the general public, as a woman I feel Lowes is more approachable to shop in. read more
