Easy egress to my car and loaded in the shelving for the ride home. Super easy transaction for this senior citizen, and I look forward to using the service again soon read more

This is the worst Home Depot I have ever been to. Most workers were very unwilling to help out. The hardware section was in complete disarray, it wasn't possible to find things we were looking for. The one exception in our experience was CJ, who went out of her way to help us. We needed something that was on top of the rack and needed to be brought down with a forklift. CJ called a number of times for the forklift driver who was responsible for that area and he was nowhere to be found. Eventually CJ took it upon herself to get the forklift driver from another area and bring him over to help us. She went above and beyond and should be considered for management or executive training because she alone has an understanding of the need to provide customer service. read more

ZERO STARS! Home Depot has some MAJOR hiring issues. WHY? I have NEVER been so poorly treated - EVER! On October 15, 2024, I stopped into the Bristol, CT Home Depot to purchase water wicks for my humidifier. The unit takes HDC-12 pleated paper wicks, which I have purchased at HD many, many times. This means that I am also familiar with where they are located in the store. (Matter of fact, I spend so much money at the HD, I know the layout better than most employees - but that's another review.) Yes, things move around in a retail store from time to time, but when I looked at where the wicks SHOULD be, the shelves were empty. Looking up however, I not only noticed an exact model of humidifier tucked WAAAY up on the top shelf, wrapped in shipping wrap, but with it, a bunch of HDC-12 filters. I approached a "sales associate" and was told he'd get me "Someone from that department". So I waited. And waited and waited. Half an hour, give or take. Seriously? So up to the "Customer Service" desk I go. I was taken over to Chris, who mans the ProDesk because "They had no one in THAT department to help me". Keep in mind here, that I came to this HD armed with the CORRECT part number and amount of wicks the store claimed to have, according to their webpage. I did my homework. (Go ahead, punch in HDC-12 humidifier wicks and see.) Chris immediately copped an attitude and "Informed" me that if they weren't on the shelf, they didn't have them. AND, he said that "If I didn't know what they looked like then he couldn't help me." EXCUSE ME? His own workstation had a picture!!!! I must have been bothering him - standing there looking marvelous as he was - and doing nothing. It's not like he was interrupted, he was simply being asked to help a customer - a customer who knew EXACTLY what he needed, what the part number was and where they are normally stocked IN ALL HOME DEPOT STORES! But keep reading cuz it gets better... So I asked him to please come with me so I could show him where they were and that a forklift or similar would be needed - as they had them, but were on the top-most shelf, which is why I went to customer service in the first place. Nope. Chris took me to AIR FILTERS and rude as hell, pointed to the shelf and asked: "Do you see them here?" Well, it took every ounce of self-control not to just scream as this a-hole punk. Like I was some moron. (If he knew what I did for a living he would shit) So I then insisted that he follow me to the area in the store where I know they should be so I could point out to him what I needed help with. He followed, but was NOT pleased. When I pointed to where they were, I again explained that I needed someone to get them down, he literally and as animated as a cartoon character, threw his hands up in the air and said: "I give up!" And walked off huffing to himself. I wish I thought to record this conversation because he would be famous this morning on You Tube. In any case, I went back to "Customer Service" and this time found Dawn. Now I hope you keep reading because THIS is going to make you crap your self: Dawn took my HDC-12 number, punched it into her workstation and pulled up the EXACT page that I did at my house that morning and the same page that Chris from ProDesk pulled up! And here's the best part; She informed me that the page not only had a picture and believed quantity - BUT IT HAD THE SHELF NUMBER AND LOCATION in the store. I know, right? Chris, Chris, Chris. At the Bristol CT Pro Desk Chris. (I want to be sure everyone knows who you are. Especially HD management) She pointed to them right in front of her! She didn't have to take one step away from her register - she did it in about two minutes!! That's right, HD had moved them to the front of the store because humidifiers sell this time of year when the humidity drops - but Chris, OH CHRIS! Fabulous Chris didn't have a clue. The unit on the way up top shelf? Inventory. (Yes, Chris - they were inventory.) And, by the way Chris, it's your job to get that stuff down if a customer wants to spend his money in your store. It's called RETAIL and it's you job! Cudos and much appreciation to Dawn. If anyone from HD reads this - give that woman a fat raise!! 20 plus years with you too. Better keep her. Chris at ProDesk Bristol, on the other hand. Well HD, if he treats your contractors the way he treated me, he's a liability to your bottom line and I'd fire him. God knows how many people he's pissed off and sent to Lowes. And folks, just take a look at the reviews over there to the right... Not all four and five stars, right? Even Three? Which means that Jeff Bezos is just going to keep getting richer because our retail managers in this country seem to have lost their minds with who they hire. This is unacceptable and I beg everyone who reads this review to start speaking out wherever you shop if you are treated poorly or don't get the level of customer serve that, at a bare minimum, is courteous and helpful. Shopping there is frustrating at best if you go online to see if there's a part there and it says yes you have a 50-50 shot that it's actually there, and then if it's not there and you try and find help, it'll take you 20 minutes to track somebody down and then another 20 minutes for them to get somebody who can help you in the right area if it was any further away, I wouldn't bother with it at all read more

I've been in this HD dozens of times, yesterday was my most recent time. A buddy asked me to help him go and load 16 bags (50 lb bags, I might add) of a special concrete product into his car. When we found the right section of the store, we only saw 7 bags of what we wanted. Now this is where what happened next amazed me. We flagged down one of the workers, which in itself was a good sign, because sometimes trying to find someone in a store like this is like trying to find a parking spot in West Hartford. The guy was attentive and polite. He checked his tablet and said they had 100 more bags on site, and proceeded to walk down the aisles and searched all of the stacked products on the upper shelves. He found a pallet of the stuff about 50 feet away. He arranged for a forklift operator to grab the pallet and bring it to us, in fact the forklift drove right into the parking lot, right to my buddy's car and 2 HD guys off-loaded the 16 bags into the car. Without a doubt, this was the very best customer service I have ever seen in a HD store. Great job guys !! read more

Location: perfectly located in Bloomfield with a large parking lot and it's easy to navigate to. Prices: the prices are fair and they have a decent selection Employees: Ghetto, and unprofessional. They will look you in the face and not even ask to help you. When you do ask for help the catch an attitude and are snippy. No one is ever in the department they need to be in. I am so thankful for Home Depot's tool rental department. My husband and I are fixing up our new house before we move in and have stopped into Home Depot on average once a day for the past couple weeks. Over the weekend, we had a flooded basement incident (thanks, ancient washing machine!) and high tailed to HD to rent a water extractor (our little shop vac could only handle so much) and massive dehumidifier for our carpeted basement. The Bloomfield location was the only one in the area with the equipment we needed, so I'm especially glad it's just 5 minutes away. Rental was so reasonable - I think $28 a day for the extractor. I've had mostly good experiences here. Some of the floor employees are in fact clueless and dismissive but I have yet to encounter anyone rude. A majority of the employees I've encountered especially in the large appliances section are very very helpful and gave more customer service than I expected from a chain store. I've purchased a refrigerator and 2 ranges. I've never had any issue with returns or customer service. I have seen the front desk staff match the energy of some customers, but nothing out of the ordinary. I prefer this location over the Manchester and West Hartford one. read more

The customer service is horrible. I went in to buy more of a product I purchased last year. I wanted them to look up my order so I could order same product again. First guy told me he didn't work in that department. Was just sitting there. Then next guy told me he was off the clock. Then they got this woman who kept sighing and not being very helpful. She couldn't find my previous order. I described the product and she said I don't know. Not helpful at all. After she sighed the third time I got up, told her I am going to Lowe's, thank you, and have a nice day. The Lowe's service (around the corner) was marvelous. Someone came right up to help. I was in and out within 10 minutes. When next time crappy service stores like Home Depot wonder why they go out of business, you don't have to look far to find your answer. read more

Of all the HD stores I've been to, this is consistently the worst. Aside from always being a mess, today we asked 2 workers for assistance to help us find items (both items are shown as in stock online). Neither person was able to help, the first because HD's system is so messed up and the second bc he didn't know what we were talking about so he turned away without any attempt at helping me. This sort of thing happens more often than not. I don't plan to go back. I'm shopping at my local hardware and garden shops, getting what I need and having a much more enjoyable experience even if I have to spend a little more. read more

Disconnected and now calling back and just have machine telling me how important my phone call is and that customer service is assisting other customers. If you shop there, deal with Gordon, not Sarah. Gordon understands why people shop at HP while Sarah treats you like a crook. In addition, they are changing their return policies on some merchandise to 30 days (even if broken) from the standard 90 and not telling you about it at the register. I brought in a defective item that I happened to use two times in 40 days. They didn't want to take it back. Then, when I pushed, Sarah had me bring it to their tool rental area for testing--like it's my job to carry items around the store. Then I had to bring it back to her with the message that the item was indeed broken. Sarah still didn't believe me and called the tool rental employee for confirmation. They pressured me to take another one rather than getting a refund - I would have taken store credit at that point! I've spent tens of thousands at home depot over the years (5 grand at this one since last fall) and this made me wish I'd gone to Lowes. read more

Chris and Megiel were enormously helpful in designing my project and getting the right materials at the right size, but it was Victor who went WAY above and beyond to bring the whole thing together. If you are planning to do a renovation with Home Depot I beg you to reconsider. In June I started the process of designing a kitchen with Bloomfield Home Depot, I came to them with the exact models I wanted for appliances and asked them to design a kitchen around those appliances. The designer took a week or 2 and came up with a design we loved, we were so excited. She did mention the first fridge we picked out was a little bit to big and asked if we could downsize to a slightly smaller fridge. I said yes, we like the design and I said the only condition is I need to see the fridge. She showed it to me on the website as they didn't have it in stock and we agreed it would work for us. Little did we know that a month and a half later when the appliances were delivered the fridge didn't fit, and not even just a little to big a full 3 inches more in width than she had measured the design to fit along with a good 4 inches to deep and inch to high. Management refused to talk to me even though I kept asking the associated to have one call me over and over. I was nothing but kind but I kept being pawned off to people who couldn't help me other than making me settle on a smaller fridge. A MUCH smaller fridge, I literally have to go down to my basement to get orange juice and milk because I can't fit everything in the new fridge. After this they lost my range hood, found me one that was damaged, drilled the wrong holes for my island light and made it seem like my fault when I bought the light with the single pendent connection they asked me to, and took 2 additional months to finish my kitchen making my total reno time about 4 months. I pushed now for an additional 2 months to get a settlement for my loses and nothing, they apparently feel that they are not at fault and accommodated me and have pushed me to the side, held me off, or ignored my calls for months and I am seeking legal action at this point. I had to throw away hundreds of dollars of food that went bad in my deep freeze of 4 months, I didn't have a functional kitchen the entire time and had to do my dishes out of my bathtub for 4 freaking months. It is sad that I have not gotten one apology from a manager, its sad that they had shrugged off my problem as oh she just didn't get what she wanted and she's mad as if I don't have a legit case. I have never been treated so poorly by a company and had so many mistakes made on a renovation project. The value of my home is affected by this, no family of four can possible function with a fridge 8 cubic feet smaller than the one I initially picked out. I urge you not to support this store as they don't deserve to be in business with this poor customer service. read more
