When purchasing online, read the small print! Bought a $221 microwave and paid $229 extra for installation! I did not see the charge. When I called the Lowe's in Catskill, was told the installation was done by another company but didn't know which one. How could they not know who was doing work for them? The management at the catskill lowes is a joke! I don't know how some of the employees deal with it. I have witnessed a women with a strong accent who I'm pretty sure is a manager say something along the lines of "Jesus Christ cant you people do anything" at her employees in front of customers just because they called her for help. I've also witnessed her yell at them from across the store over little things that are beyond their control when they are very clearly doing their best considering they always seem short staffed. maybe she should realize they could use some help instead of being belittled and made to feel like crap. If I were them I'd quit. its very obviously a toxic environment and no one deserves that kind of treatment from someone they're supposed to look up to!!!! read more

We are currently half way through a complete rehab of a large farmhouse about 30 minutes outside Catskill. We have spent approximately 15-20k at Lowes over the last 3 years (Kitchen cabinets, floors, windows, siding, etc) . Living a distance from the store, we will sometimes pick up additional supplies while at the store so as to avoid driving all the way home and discovering that we needed something else. Occasionally, I will gather unused items and return them to the store. Today, I attempted to return about $100 worth of unopened items. I had no receipts but all the items displayed on the register as Lowes items. The store refused to issue any refund or store credit stating that they were purchased beyond their eligible return date. They stated that they had absolutely zero discretion as to whether to accept the items. While on the same trip, I returned several items to the nearby Home Depot, also without receipts. They had no issues, issuing a full refund. There is no reason that I would ever purchase any items at Lowes again knowing that they have no discretion over their strict return policies. Home Depot is the better choice. read more

One bad experience doesn't mean that there cant be good ones. Purchased a washer yesterday 10/27/2019 was told it would be delivered today 10/28/2019 between 10 am and 2 pm . Got a call around 920 am that the driver was 20 minutes away. They were here in 10, installation was quick easy and professional, as well as the people that delivered the dryer. Lowes has stepped their game up and is doing much better. Would reccomend to others in the future read more

Placed an online order with this store Oct 2020. Few hours later I got an email saying that one of the items wasn't in stock. I called the store to have them swap in a replacement. They hung up on me three times. I finally spoke to someone who transferred me to someone else, who transferred me again, waited on hold for 15 minutes,then transferred again, then told they would call me back. I never received a call back. The customer service here is unfathomably bad. read more

Came to the store on a Sunday night for a return not realizing they close at 8. I got there at 10 after. They said they were closed but a woman stepped outside and said it looked like we had driven far (which we had) so she let us in to make the return and exchange it for another. What lovely staff. I am originally from Long Island and I don't know any other store that would let me in after they were closed just to help someone out. Thank you to this staff. read more

I have been to other Lowes locations and this one is my go-to since I live close by. Staff here are friendly (they often don't have expert information) and it usually is simple to get some help and load up quickly during certain hours. The only thing I wonder is why the roof leaks. My partner and I came in on what seemed like a pretty slow day and received great customer service from the folks here. They had a much better selection of kitchen appliances at better prices than the Home Depot. We ended up purchasing a fridge after our sales person looked at many different options with us. When we wanted to take it home with us that day, someone loaded it in our car for us and, when it didn't quite fit, he very kindly walked me to the ratchet strap aisle. We got it home in one piece and are really enjoying our purchase. read more

On October 18 2018 I bought an LG gas range from Lowe's at a price of about $1,000 there were problems from the start. First Lowe's installer at a cost of nearly $250 showed up with no material to perform said installation. When I bought the stove I was told by a rather testy salesman that all the parts were included with the price of installation,and that I didn't need to carry anything with me. Well when the installer was unable to complete the job and my old stove was already disconnected and the parts needed for installation were necessary because the old ones couldn't be reused, We were left with no stove for a week because he couldn't just go up the street to the hardware store and get the parts he should have been given by Lowe's. The earliest he could come back was a later. Then Lowe's tried tell my wife that we would have to return to the store and pay $270 for the parts they should given us in the first place. When I went back to the store and informed the appliance manager that instead he could have the stove back he realised it's not $270 but $28 for a three foot flexible gas line and an adapter. Once again I was told I didn't have to take it with me, the installer would pick them up when he returned to the store. Well does anyone think that's what happened? You'd be wrong. When he showed up he had parts but not the right parts. This time at least I was able to convince him to go to the local hardware store,when he came back he at least had parts. In an hour or so the stove was hooked up and now one burner is not working properly at all. Now the malfunctioning burner is not Lowe's fault or the installers it's entirely LG's, at least we have a mostly working range a couple days before Thanksgiving. Then shortly after the installer left we started smelling gas. When I called Lowe's they told me the installer wasn't a Lowe's employee and wouldn't be back in our area for several days. Now I had to call the gas company and tell them I had a leak they sent someone a couple hours later. But I still had no stove. I understand Lowe's is not responsible for the stove not working, they didn't build it, but doesn't anyone stand behind what they sell. If a stone mason sold me a stone wall, when it falls down is he going to tell me he didn't make the stones so his responsibility is done. I will be looking for alternatives to Lowe's in the future. I already know HD isn't any better. read more

I am losing faith more and more in my local Lowes stores. This past week I called in regards to a riding I was interested in purchasing . I called early in the morning (Hudson NY store) about my inquiry. I was informed the mower was in stock and I could come and pick it up. When I arrived an hour before closing time in the evening, I was told they had made a mistake and the mower wasn't assembled yet and I would have to return the following day. I was desperate for the mower because I needed it the that night. Therefore it was an easy guaranteed sale. The lack of concern or care I received was terrible. I decided to take a trip to the store a few miles away that closed an hour later and see if they could earn my business there. When I arrived I found a comparable mower in the returned section at a discounted price and decided to make the purchase. Unfortunately I didn't have my Lowes card on me and needed the associate to look it up. After OVER an hour of both ME and the associate contacting credit services they managed to figure out how to get my card info. now here is the kicker after all this it took me 4 hours to buy a simple mower. The mower I purchased was listed as $1699 original price. It was marked down to $1529. I was given an additional $50 off for my wait. The insulting part is I find out the next day the mower was on sale for $1599 anyway ... and that's for a NEW mower. I saved $120.00 in return for rudeness, incompetence. My mower was used, missing parts, tape glue everywhere, scratches and no manuals. With all the nonsense I would at least expect the same savings off the sale price that I received off the original price. I drive home thinking I got a good deal only to discover I was ripped off! read more

These people are incompetent. We placed an in-person order with the Oneonta Lowe's for a range, dishwasher, refrigerator and washer-dryer to be delivered in Margaretville on Oct. 6. Several days before the delivery date, we received a call from Lowe's confirming the delivery. We arranged our schedule so that we came up from NYC to receive the delivery in Margaretville. Just to be on the safe side, that morning my wife called Lowe's to confirm the delivery. It was only then that we were told -- for the first time -- that the delivery had been cancelled, for no apparent reason. We were told that the delivery was to be fulfilled by the Catskill store. Trying to get any information through Lowe's customer service was a fiasco. My advice: don't buy from Lowe's if you require delivery. Try Home Depot or a local appliance dealer. Any savings in price can't be worth the inconvenience and aggravation of dealing with Lowe's. read more

I called the plumbing department at the CATSKILL LOWES to see if they had a shower wall was looking to purchase. My local store had everything but the one part. They informed me they have it and would hold it for me behind the plumbing desk. I offered to pay for the shower over the phone since i was driving an hour to pick it up. They told me there was no need and it would be there waiting for me. This phone call was at noon. I got to the store at about 7:30-8 that evening to find that "SCOTT" had given permission to sell it to someone else. I spoke to the manager "JAMES" and explained how i just borrowed a truck and drove an hour one way to pick it up. He told me that they had no more and the best he could do was offer a small discount on a different shower which was not what i was looking for. I asked for them to just have a store that has it in stock send it to my local LOWES store. He told me he would and could not. This wasted my entire night. I had to borrow a truck and drive hours because "SCOTT" gave the okay to sell it to someone else. I ended up traveling again the next day to buy it at a store elsewhere. I am very disappointed with the service i got at this LOWES and i will never return. read more
