We purchased a new roof through Lowe's from their location in Kanawha City WV. It has been an absolutely horrible experience, once they take your $10k they stop all communication and don't care what happens from that point on. If I were to do it over I would support a local small business that actually cares and respects their customers. Ironically all of their marketing materials have the slogan "we'll be with you all the way" is total BS. So gain do NOT contract and purchase through Lowe's any services that you actually want completed. Delivery didn't show up on the day we were told sat here waiting for 12 hrs installation date no one showed up, when we called and asked they said we weren't on the schedule.... It's a total mess! I try to be an anti-Karen, but I had a very negative experience this Lowe's yesterday. It just really rubbed me the wrong way. I stopped in to get a few small tomato plants and saw a big sign for 2 for $10 Miracle Gro Brilliant Blooms Petunias. Well, petunias are my 100% favorite flower to put in my gardens. I couldn't believe the deal because these were rather large bloom hanging baskets. But underneath were just some vegetables and no other petunias were in sight. I grabbed a set of speckled petunias and a set of yellow petunias. I double-checked their tags and they were in fact Miracle Gro Brilliant Blooms. Just to be on the safe side, I took a picture of the sign. I went to the cashier. I told her that I wasn't for sure if this could be a pricing error or mistake. I know the prices of flowers pretty well and I couldn't believe these would be marked down so low. I showed her a picture of the sign and the image of the row of these hanging baskets. She proceeded to tell me that Lowe's was having an extremely good sale right now and they were definitely marked down. Then, she grabbed a sales paper and verified that these Miracle Gro Brilliant Blooms were in fact 2 for $10. I was tickled to death and couldn't believe my luck. I told her I'd take them in a heartbeat. When she rang them up, she said they were ringing up wrong. So, she went to the second cashier. He told her to override it. So, she tried to override it and it required a manager to come authorize. So, she conversed with the second cashier and he asked me to take him to the sign. I took him over to the sign. I showed him the whole row of petunias. He said they were definitely mislabeled and took the sign down. He said someone must have seen that these were Miracle Gro Brilliant Bloom petunias and just put the sign up, not paying attention to the size of the baskets. However, he said that I should be able to get them at this price because it wasn't my fault the sign was wrong. So, I was like "Cool, as long as I can get these puppies at $10, I will be one happy girl. This will make my day. I'm pretty easy to please." So, he tells the other cashier to to ahead and ring me up. I'm so happy at this point. I LOVE petunias and I honestly just came in for tomato plants. I also apologized to her for this whole time-consuming experience because I didn't anticipate for it to take this long and for employees to have to walk with me to verify signs and this and that. So, she said she just needed to call the manager to have her override the price. I'm standing there, hearing this whole conversation by the way. The manager refused to come do it. She didn't even bother to come over to the home and garden section period. It was just a flat out no and that she didn't have time. She said it didn't matter what the sign said. The girl gets off the phone and apologizes, saying the manager is in a "mood," that she gets into these "moods" sometimes, and that other managers would have done it for us. I'm not mad at either cashier. They both went out of their way to accommodate. But I thought this was incredibly rude of the manager. I thought it was extremely poor customer service of her to not even inquire about this issue or make an effort to come to the department. Especially since so much time had been involved in this. It's probably going to be a while before I even go to this Lowe's location again because this manager really ticked me off with her lousy attitude, not only towards the situation, but also towards the cashiers themselves. She shouldn't have acted crappy to a cashier who was just trying to do her job. There's good people out there in the world who actually try to be decent human beings and show kindness, so don't treat them like garbage. read more

I had the item number and he refused to look it up said he had to transfer me because he wouldn't know the availability. I've been in this Lowe's at least 10 times in the last 3 months by myself and no one has ever asked me if I needed help with anything. I went in once with my husband and an employee approached us quickly and asked if we needed help. That situation makes me feel like this Lowe's location is full of sexist employees (or just lousy management) who assume a woman walking around a home improvement store alone will need way too much help for them to bother. Unfortunately this Lowe's is in a convenient spot and I don't always have time to go to Home Depot. If Home Depot was next door to this Lowe's I'd go there. . I placed an order at Lowes in Kanawha City WV on 9/25/15 for 973.95. My card was billed for the 973.95 and then my order was cancelled. My card was then charged for 785.87 and then again for 792.13. So, at this point I have $2551.95 billed to my debit card for a #973.95 order. A few moments later I see a credit for the 973.95 on my account, so where is the I get on their website to chat with customer service and tell them of the problem and am told they were out of some items and they had to cancel the order and resubmit it and the charges would fall off once I pick the order ok. Okay, so I get the email that my items are ready for pickup, so I head to the store which is an hour away to pick up. When I arrive the super rude lady types on her computer for around a half hour before making a phone call. During this time, the young man takes my items out and starts loading them in my trailer. I notice I am missing 5 sheets of roofing and 55 furring strips. I tell the lady I am going to go and see what else is missing. When I return, she proceeds to tell me I have never paid for the order and I cannot leave with it. Wait, what, I have actually paid for it 3 TIMES. I ask for a manager and "Ben" come up and I explain the problem to him which he is very uninterested. Now the lady at the front tells Ben that she has told me I cannot leave with the items (that I have paid for 3 times) but I still needed to talk to a manager. So, after all this talk and trying to explain the issue this guy goes to my trailer and starts removing the wood and materials to bring them back in the store. I have never had an experience like this at any business and am shocked at the unprofessionalism and the way I was treated like I was trying to steal or pull a fast one. So, I left Lowes without what I purchased, and they have still billed me $1518.00. I will be calling the corporate office to get my money back if it does not show up in my account after the weekend. read more

Decided I wanted to do faux shiplap in my bathroom but I didn't have the proper saw to cut the wood. I decided I would have Lowes cut the sheets of plywood for me to ensure there was no waste and perfect lines. I arrived in the morning and they were not busy. A guy named Shawn was called for the job. Well, Shawn WAS NOT happy about having to cut this wood. I tried to speak to him and he wouldn't even make eye contact let alone speak. Very rude, and needs a lesson on customer service. I get that it isn't a fun request, but if you don't want to work at hardware store, find something where people are not involved. Giving at least two stars because ultimately, the plywood was cut correctly. I give him that much. read more

I went in to buy a gas grill. Not one person asked if I needed assistance tho several employees passed me by and when I tried to make eye contact, they averted their eyes. I finally caught up to one who seemed like he didn't want to stop what he was doing. Once the purchasing process began, he "thawed out" a little and was actually helpful. The delivery guy called the day before delivery and said I was in the system for a morning delivery (I was never asked at time of purchase what time frame would be preferred). I said no one would be home until a certain time and after checking, he said that would be fine. The day of delivery, I got a call saying it would be delivered earlier than discussed. If I didn't have a secure place for him to leave it, I wouldn't have felt comfortable with it just being left. I used the grill right away (bought a full tank at Lowe's). i have tried for two days to get someone at lowes store #0675 kanawha city west virginia to answer the phone. even the store manager would not answer so i could ask a question. i have paid for someone to come (and yet to respond to my home) and get exact measurement for my kitchen. i was thinking of redoing my entire kitchen from floor to cabinets and appliances. if this is the customer service i can expect then maybe i'll get a refund and go elsewhere. please don't try to blame it on covid-19 when your store has been booming,it's just poor service. read more

My wife and I bought a GE gas range last March from Lowes. We had to change it to LPG and had a professional outfit do the change over. The parts were supplied with the range. The range has not worked right since this was done. Lowes/GE has sent out repair people 6 times that can't get the range fixed ( a burner on the right side blows out when you try to light it and the other burner on the same side does not have the BTUs that it should have, the other burners on the left side work fine.) I have had to stay home from work each time someone is sent. The last 2 times I was told A&E, the repair people, were coming to fix it, once again, I was called by A&E and told they would be there soon and no one showed up! I had even given directions to one guy who did not show.I have been on the phone with Lowes for a total of over 6 hrs. with no fix in site. My advice to you is do not buy any thing from Lowes or GE that may not work ... They do NOT stand by their products and I think that the only recourse I now have after 3 months of this is to take them to small claims court. You have been warned. The day after I posted this Lowe's called and said that they/GE would replace the range. Coincidence, me thinks not! Yesterday I got an E-Mail saying that I was not getting the replacement range, these people have no idea what is going on!!!! read more

We purchased a Whirlpool Washer and Dryer on February 28, 2015. At the time we purchased the appliances we purchased a 3 year extended warranty. On October the washer broke down (won't empty out the water and spin the clothes and the lid locks and won't unlock). On October 19, 2015 we called the Lowe's number on the receipt. We talked to a very nice lady who set up an appointment for a repairman to come on October 22nd. On October 20th we came home to a message on the answering machine from the repair company cancelling the repair appointment and asked us to call them. My husband called them and the man said he wanted to know the details of what the issue was so he could order parts and bring them with them and he would be out on October 26th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the parts and fix the washer. My husband stayed home and waited on the 26th and nobody showed up at the scheduled time or called for directions. He called the number and a lady put him on hold and left him there and never came back on the phone. He waited a little longer and called back and got a man who said the repair guy was sick and on his way to the hospital. He later called back and said he had the wrong guy and someone would be out. A repairman finally showed up and looked at the washer and said he didn't know how to fix it. He said he would go back to the shop and figure out if he had parts or needed to order some more parts. He said he would call back. We never heard back from him. We called the Lowe's number on the receipt on October 27th to see if they knew what was going on. The man on the phone was very rude and disrespectful. He said the parts would be ordered and he didn't know how long it would take or when they would be able to come back out. I asked if we could get our money back since the washer wasn't even 8 months old. He said that was impossible. So where we stand right now is no washer for 11 days, no repairs in sight and the warranty and extended warranty we purchased is worthless. I even emailed Lowe's and receieved a response that said there was nothing we could do and they didn't know when our problem would be solved. PLEASE do not purchase appliances at Lowe's. These are our first time and we even had a refrigerator and dishwasher picked out to buy. Go to Sears or somewhere that has reliable products, reliable repairmen and pleasant sales staff.
