Seems like always a decent place for service and good workers there. But they have a serious chemical odor right now in the paint department. I am a painter and know that some kind of serious solvent was spilled there and it still smells horribly. H-O-R-R-B-L-Y! Come on you lazy people and incompetent management. My mom and I went to buy paint for my bedroom. I get to the paint section and ask one of the ladies working if she can help me look up the color I wanted. She looks it up and finds it, while taking a personal call. My mom and I turn our backs to find which paint and finish we want. The woman helping us leaves while once again taking a personal phone call. I stood around waiting for her to return for about 10 minutes. Finally, I just asked another worker to help me mix the paint. While she was assisting me, several customers came over to ask for her help with other things, indicating to me that there were not enough staff members around to assist them. The girl that ultimately helped me was very nice but clearly their service is lacking. read more

STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS! If you're looking for any customer service, or any helpful employees, this place is NOT for you. I ordered a laundry Center on 7/4/16. As of today, then unit is still not installed. There have been 3 attempts, costing me a total of $483.37 in lost wages, $42.75 in laundromat fees, $40 in delivery fees, and that doesn't include the cost of the laundry center($1379.00). So total cost for a $1400 laundry center, will end up being $1966.12, and that is if they still honor the 18 months 0% financing from the holiday offer, which I doubt considering how they've handled my issues from the beginning. Bonnie(claimed to be a customer service manager), was not only unhelpful, but down right rude. Terry(as Bonnie put it, "her boss"), apologized, and then lied to me about trying to rectify the mistake on the 3rd attempt, saying that she was on the phone with the shipping courier that they use(found out from the shipping carrier that only an email was sent late in the evening), and that she is willing to "meet them halfway", which was not true. She then left the store and "passed the buck" to Ray, the customer service manager, who I will say did compensate me for the 2nd failed attempt. The shipping company, of which I will review after I'm done with this post, sent over an incomplete order(both parties are claiming that the other is responsible for the mistake), and when I asked them to wait for me to go down the block to get the supplies needed, threatened to take the laundry center back to the store. The gentleman that threatened to take the unit back, was bold enough to threaten me, but too cowardly to give me his name. Seriously, the saga is still ongoing 37 Days later! ZERO STARS AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS HELL ON EARTH!!! read more

This review is primarily for the kitchen department, and specifically for the wonderful kitchen designer, Melissa, who deserves a raise. She helped me in 2009 when I wanted to redo my kitchen. Fast forward to September 2011, when I came back and got very serious and committed. (I had a 10x10' kitchen that I couldn't take anymore: A kitchen with barely any installed cabinetry and countertop, a portable dishwasher, stained & chipped laminate, oven next to the wall, no space-saving microwave, and a fridge that was a mistake purchase for such a small room.) We drew up a plan and I knew where I wanted everything. She helped me and gave me extremely honest opinions and input about what was really necessary. Thankfully this is a newer store and it had the latest cabinetry. No old stuffy cabinets & old kitchens here! She led me to a wonderful cabinetry company called Shenandoah, with a limited lifetime warranty. They have almost all the features of Kraftmaid without the high, premium price. Don't get me wrong, Shenandoah will still set you back. I had pages and pages of written questions in person and I must have called this lady 15 times. She not only answered all my questions, she got back to me in a timely matter with pertinent info as if she was my own personal assistant. That's customer service! She's honest and gave me all the insider info I could have asked for. And she led me to the right decisions in choosing an independent contractor, down to tiny decisions like choosing a garbage disposal. She is truly a gem! After ordering, she was there every step of the way. She was there when there was a question on trimming a panel from the installer and she was there when I had a claim for the cabinet company to send a few new parts and cabinet pieces. The cabinetry was by far the most expensive part of the remodel and somehow, it was the easiest decision once I found the right store and the right designer! A few months later, we bought the most beautiful, realistic, artificial Christmas tree in their Christmas department. It was a pleasurable experience. Sometimes you end up paying a little more at Lowe's than Home Depot, but it's an infinitely better experience. A well organized, well lit, customer friendly store. I will be shopping at Menards and Lowe's in the future. Thanks to the kitchen department and Melissa, I have a beautiful new & functional maple kitchen that I will enjoy for a very long time. NOT even two years old and the track for closing the one french door is broken....I have 3 adults in the house none of which would cause this to happen. ALSO, unexplained leak that keeps happening on a weekly basis. Oh but I have extended warranty...problem solved....NOT....not so fast. The tech could not figure out either probem...UNIQUE Repair...JOKE!! and waste of time. His answer to the problem was a shrug on the water on the floor because it has to be leaking at the time of service...and this is an intermittent problem....comes and goes when it feels like and for the door ...just pay 565.00 for a new one..That is not happening but what will happen is 1. no more Lowes 2. I'm a big fan of Lowe's its kind of like Menards and Home Depot in one Hybrid store. It's big inside, and they have a lot of merchandise like Homedepot, but its also nice, bright, and organized like Menards is. This location is near me, so I've been in here a few times. We were just at Lowe's. I wanted to purchase a runner priced at $20 and change according to the sign and 8 folding chairs that had a sign offering a bulk discount price of $9.98 per chair if you purchased 8. We went to the front to checkout where we were met with only 2 self- serve checkout lanes open with1 cashier available to help on the self-checkout. I guess Lowe's went the way of Walmart on Harlem Ave - they expect their customers to do the work of cashiers so they don't need to hire too many employees. After ringing everything in, we noticed the runner came up priced $3 more than the sign on the box and no multi-chair purchase discount was given on the chairs. The cashier didn't even offer to have the price checked to fix the prices. We told her to just cancel the transaction if they were charging more than what was listed on the shelf. I have always had good times with Lowes. They almost always have what I'm looking for except spray paint (city law prohibits them). Anytime I have had to return anything it has been hassle free. The only reason why I'm giving it 4 stars is because the evening shift at times is filled with young people who don't know there job. So best bet is to go during the day or afternoon. read more

Placed a large order for home delivery and then it took 5 days to deliver which was fine, but they called me the day of delivery and said one item was not in stock and they couldn't deliver. They didn't offer a solution. Customer care was useless. Zero stars would have been more appropriate! I have had the worst experience with sales reps, customer service (phone operators) and multiple managers. Who are irresponsible and don't have the decency to call back when they say they will (mike, derrick, ray- GM). I"m can't understand why I was told 2 days in a roll that my delivery was coming in the morning (8-10) and did not show up till 445 on the second day. My client the homeowner took off of work 2 full days, when she believed it was only going to be a half day and I had 2 guys waiting there, literally just staring at each other, waiting to receive the material. I made management aware of the situation and after being promised that they would call back and didn't. I called the store back numerous times and each time, all of the managers and necessary point of contacts were in a "meeting" at different times of day. And then finally they left for the day. I'm yet to find anyone competent enough to help with my situation. And even after the matter I'am still contacting them with no success as they did not deliver $500 of merchandise that I was charged, and they also didn't notify me, of course. My sub contractor found out. And the store managers response was, "yeah, we probably didn't have enough". Well I figured that much. Why was I charged for the material if you know you didn't have "enough" Or at least why wasn't I notified that when the delivery was being processed, and they realized that they where short. You would think after so many mishaps that they would be accommodating or apologetic. But guess what, they really can care less. Unbelievable. As a GC, and repeat customer who has spent much time and money in your stores I believe this is unacceptable. This store is giving Lowe's a bad name. read more

Vinyl Fence Installation 05/2016- Neighbor and I placed order with Lowe's for both properties. Day 1 (07/15/2016)- Installation was supposed to begin, but when they came out for the neighbor instead, they said they didn't know anything about me. Day 3- Started installation. I pointed out the 6 panels were NOT on my property although MANY property stakes jutted along the property line and plat survey provided. Redid them the next day. Day 9- After installing them on two gates, they realize the gate latches are accessible only from one side. Must order new latches and undrilled uprights. They forgot to glue down fence caps. Day 32- Installed the one unaffected gate and glued fence caps. Day 48- Lone new guy does a good job getting the new gates as they should be. He forgets to glue down the gate caps. Day 56- Lowe's called asking how things went. I was reassured the installers would be contacted about the caps. Day 65- Gate caps still loose. You be the judge. read more

Definitely don't come here to get your kitchen done. You'll wait nearly 2 hours to get an employee to help you put together an order. And then when you're ready to pay for your order of thousands of dollars, you'll wait another hour for them to figure out how their registers work. During the process, they'll talk up how their stock cabinets take at most 7 days to arrive, and so you will start tearing out your old kitchen in preparation. 2 week will go by without an update. Try calling them, only to be told countless times "give us an hour while we go check in back". It WILL take going to the store and waiting for an answer to get enough pressure on them to ACTUALLY go and look! The delivery will show up outside of the delivery window. And they will be short a cabinet, and later try to tell you they delivered that missing cabinet. Getting your kitchen done here easily turns into a nightmare! They apparently don't have anyone checking in deliveries, managing their stockroom. They don't have computers that can tell them where orders are (it's strange, their website can tell you what's in stock at the store, down to the aisle and bay location, why can't they do the same for their $$$$ orders that they do for their $2 lightbulbs?). Don't waste your time here. read more

Not only was it delivered the next day during the promised time-frame but for the same price brought upstairs to our second floor apartment. He went above and beyond in an attempt to correct a mistake that was made on our part (my friend and I). There was a misunderstanding regarding a purchase. My experience with this Lowe's is beyond disappointing. I purchased a washer and dryer to be delivered on a Sunday. 6 minutes before the scheduled delivery time, I received a call that my appliances somehow were placed on the wrong truck and there was no way that they would be delivered that day. Frustrated, I had them schedule delivery for the following morning. Fast forward to the next day.... the delivery window has come and gone and no sign of Lowe's. I call to find out what is going on, and discover that the manager that "fixed" my delivery the day before never put it through the system. The new manager I spoke with assured me that she would get them on a truck to be delivered that afternoon. NOPE, WRONG AGAIN. There is apparently no one who can deliver these items (I live 2 miles from the store by the way) so now we are on to our 4TH scheduled delivery for tomorrow morning. If they actually show up during the delivery window, I may just faint with surprise. In the meantime, I have cancelled work appointment and re-arranged my schedule more times than I care to count for appliances that still aren't sitting in my laundry room. You can bet that when I go to purchase any more home improvement items or appliances, Lowe's won't even be a consideration.... read more

I wish I could give this Lowes lower than 1 star my experience here was the worst I would NEVER recommend anyone to shop here. I purchased a floor model refrigerator for a good price exactly what I was looking for, free delivery and haul away and It would be delivered Monday I purchased on Saturday night. Too good to be true I got a call Sunday saying my item was damaged when taking it off the floor but they found me a new one from another store I just had to wait until Wednesday for delivery. Tuesday night came I received another call saying that the second fridge was damaged too and I can come in and get a refund. Finally Thursday after the manager had another associate call me to offer a different fridge for the same price I received a new fridge but a completely different one the one I wanted wasn't available anymore and was not the same as what I wanted but I needed a fridge. After calling another day and speaking to the appliance manager I was told that my fridge was not damaged it was over sold so obviously I was being lied to all along. I was told Management would return my call two different times and still to this day I have not received a call. This store clearly has poor management and very poor customer service skills. read more

I made a purchase 1513 for the store at 83rd and Sough Holland Chicago that had rats in the box. I have pictures and the receipt that I took it back within hours after purchasing it. The store managers have given me a hard time. I have also contacted the corporate office and spoke to manager Patrick. Im a senior and I have never seen anything like this in all of my life. I was given 3 sonic things to plug into they wall, and they agreed to give me a onetime treatment that Terminex will not guarantee. I sent them a letter with pictures today. My next step will be to file a law suite for my damages. I just think that public should know what they may get when purchasing a box from Lowe's store. I will really given a hard time before I got anything from them store. I'm living here with rats or mice I really don't know which. In December of last year we had a rep from lowes come down and give us a quote for a front deck, they finial got started in January took three weeks to do a three day job. It looked like it was done by Larry and Curly. So I complained to the people who were suppose to help me. Finally in April the person who was suppose to be in charge came down with Moe, and they both agree that it looks like that they wood replace it. At this time they told me that they would come and get the leftover material that had ben in my garage for two months. I decided to take an inventory, plus I set off to the side the stuff the had been use and what I considered scrape, and told them that if I couldnt get credit for it that I wanted to keep it . We couldn't be here when they came, so imagine my feelings when we get to find every thing gone including all the scrape. the when we got the bill not only did they not give us credit for any of the scrape,they tried to cheat us out of 4 bags of cement. Now it late June and the only call we have had was from a truck diver saying he would be down on Sat. to bring our new material. You guessed it he never showed up. I am making it a point to show all my friends,stangres , and family what kind of quality they can get, and telling them about the wonderful customer service they can expect from Lowes.
