Overall, this is a good Lowe's and I had no issues here and was able to get in and out in a relatively short amount of time. I've been shopping at this Lowe's for about a year now, having purchased a house in Deland. As with new "old house" purchases, there is a lot of work I'm doin. I would usually go to Home Depot because I am also a Home Depot stockholder however Lowe's is close to my house. As a result I have spent over $12,000 in the last 12 months getting my washer my dryer and also renovating my bathroom, changing my ceiling fans, buying paint, and all that goes with that type of Renovation It's been very expensive and for the most part I've been happy (Mostly thanks to Anthony in appliances) Today I went to return an item because I bought an extra one just in case the guy needed it. It only cost about $10-$15 each. When I went to the return registered to return it and gave them my credit card which they traced to my purchase I was told that they couldn't return it because it was over 90 days. It was also totally intact in the original packaging and they are still selling it. I can't really think of a good reason why they would not have returned something and giving me credit when they still sell it except That their customer service is getting poor. Admittedly, I haven't returned a lot of things here and I guess that's good for them but this type of customer service is bad. I asked to see a manager and a guy, Christian said he was in charge of the front desk. I'm not sure if that means he's a manager or they were just sending anyone out because they weren't going to give me credit. He didn't have "manager" on his name tag. There's not much I can do if they're not going to give me credit on the spot, but what I can do is never go to Lowe's. I had already been in talks with their kitchen renovation people to do a full renovation in my kitchen. I guess you know I will not be using them for that. It's not enough that all the prices all over are so expensive and elevated almost 100% more than it was five years ago today but now them refusing to take a perfectly good item back that I purchased from them when they still sell it because it was a little over 90 days is terrible. What else is this country gonna be messed up in and when are the consumers going to be considered never wrong again? Not today at least not at Lowe's. They've seen me for the last time. read more

I've been a faithful customer for over 20 years. I have spent probably close to $40,000 and supporting their business. They have gone downhill so fast. I ordered an appliance supposed to be same day. I was allowed to put in delivery instructions on the online app it was paid for. Who knew that they use DoorDash because they don't even wanna hire or pay their own Worker They let the wrong DoorDash person pick it up and my microwave is gone You don't think I got a refund yet do you? Heaven help you get any who works at Lowe's to be of any assistance. It took me five minutes of various menus to talk to an associated who informed me that they do not install anything but special order kitchen cabinets and they do not have the name of anyone who does that type of installation. As far as in store the sales girl was very nice that's where anything good stops I bought a brand new washer and dryer that cost nearly 4,000 dollars around nov 15.2025 In December they brought the wrong ones so they had to reorder on January 6 2026 I finally got my washer and dryer this also went bad the installers were on my porch I told them if they needed me to call or knock they did neither they just walked into my house without announcing themselves twice also the install was done incorrectly the washer is not level the door swings open hard as the bubble on the level is all the way to the right the dryer is level but the door will not open and it is giving instructions in Spanish also I asked them not to close the covers on the outlets but they did anyway they also left trash on my carport so I called to let them know they told me they would be here Wednesday between 5-6 pm I was told this was the earliest it could be done on the day they were supposed to come I had a phone call at around 10:30 am saying they would be there at 1:00 pm I said no you won't. I won't be there my appointment is for between 5-6 the first person I spoke with at corporate could hardly speak English and basically called me a liar she said that there was no way the person I spoke with could give me a time but she did! the last person told me since I did not let them come at 1pm like they wanted I would have to call the third party installer to reschedule I told her that she needed to do it I bought the washer and dryer at Lowe's, not from a third party that I have never spoken too I told her they need to get here by tomorrow or maybe I needed to speak to a lawyer she said she Will and I ended the call saying I will bring my business to home depot I have been a good customer since they built Lowe's in DeLand service in this Country has gone way down they need to train their associates on how to talk with people their associates make mistakes and they take it out on the customer Lowe's it's not the Customers fault that your associates don't know what their doing just like when I explained a project I needed to do and when the guy got here he advised me they could not do the job but your associat said they could Teach your associates Lowe's or lose even more customers read more

We ordered a smoker and rib racks, was notified by email that they were ready for pick up. When I got to the store, only the racks were in the pickup area. Jon, the manager was walking by while I discussed the smoker with an associate and Jon jumped in to help. He went out back to check the truck that had just arrived and radioed up to the front that the smoker was on the truck and he'd bring it up right away. Very shortly the smoker was loaded into my truck and off we went. Jon was so nice and helpful, went above and beyond. Thank you, Jon, for excellent customer service. read more

I visited the store in DeLand to purchase a lamp shade for a hard to buy for lamp. I found one that looked good, but it was displayed up to high for my reach to examine. I asked one of the cashiers for help, and she sent a call for someone to come to the lamp shade area ..... thirty minutes later still no one. There were at least a dozen Lowes employees walking by, and I asked a few for help and they said they would get someone that works in the area. Anyway, ended up climbing up the display and getting the lamp shade myself ... and then had to go through self check out. Poor customer service. read more

do not ever have Lowes install anything, have a clause in your contract that you have no recourse if something goes wrong, my case I bought a counter top and was to told I had to sign an agreement that all existing counters had to be torn out and removed and sink and plumbing off, all drawers cleaned out before install, which I did, night before install the called and said they broke my counter and it would be 2 weeks before they can fabricate a new one, so I went 2 weeks without a kitchen, no counter water sink dishwasher nothing, would not give me any credit for this huge blunder, said I would have had to go 6 months without a kitchen before they would credit me even a dime. learned my lesson, they are just too big to care. read more

Since there really aren't any old fashion lumber yards on every corner anymore the big box stores win the business I don't prefer Lowes over Home Depot or Home Depot over Lowes both have a niche business model so it's almost a matter of who's closest. I've found professionals, semi-professionals and people who don't have a clue but all in all I never need much help and usually provide a little training when I see the BS light turned on by the newbies who haven't found a hiding place yet. I walked into this store at 6:00am the day they first opened. Since that time about 13-14 years ago, I have trusted the staff and no exactly what to expect. John Miller, the store manager, is the best. He solves problems and give no excuses. There is always going to be an employee here or there that gets hired then turns into something other than what was displayed in the interview. We have all come across that so perfection is a goal, not a realistic expectation. I've watched the staff grow. Some have left, been promoted, some have moved on to other jobs etc. but the continuity is still evident. That's a credit to the entire staff. Deland Lowes is as solid as they get! read more

I purchased a new Washer on 11/22/2022. Promised delivery date was 11/28/2022 between 4 and 9PM per a robo call on 11/27/2022 at 5pm. It did not deliver. Today 11/29/2022 I waited on the phone to no avail for two hours and was never picked up. Went to the store and was told due to order cancellations My order was now going to Dec 3. No one called or attempted contact me. I also became a cancellation and had them refund my money . No more great Lowe's delivery trucks not enough help Only one person working the appliances department today. I was only allowed to take a picture of the refund and did not get a reciept I did get a print out of the cancellation.. If you can't carry it out don't buy there! They would not allow us to return an item even with the receipt in hand because it was one day past the return date. The item clearly broke in half at a place where it should have never broke and it should have lasted years. The item was shiny and new except for the huge crack that was clearly a defect. No one was wearing masks and they seemed quite angry. It's not worth the negativity and non customer support. Home Depot or Amazon would have had much better customer support and we will continue to go in their direction. read more

I'm not a big fan of home improvement stores as I'm honestly not very handy, but my local Lowe's is pretty great. Their return policy is simple. They're usually in stock with whatever I need and their employees are always helpful. The store itself is clean and organized. Which is helpful because I'm never 100% sure of what I'm looking for. i bought a refrigerator from lowes and purchased a 5 year warranty. the fridge worked fine for 2 years and one day i opened it and the lights flashed in a 1, 2 , 3, 4, sequence and the fridge turned off. at first they (Lowes) were very responsive and it was pretty quick and painless to schedule a repair. then after that it all changed. repair people cancelled and said it would be weeks before they could get out. then trying to call the warranty department you sit endlessly on hold with the same message playing over and over telling you they have high call volume and please continue to hold. after over an hour on hold and no other information but the same repeated message over and over. i decided to hang up. it has now been 5 weeks and my fridge has still not been repaired and i have not received reimbursement for the food i lost. read more

I prefer Lowes to Home Depot but likely because I always seem to be closer to a Lowes. This one is great when I am helping with a project in Deland for my kids. My son and his wife have a new place and when you need something hardware wise this is the place to go. I know the layout of Lowes and they seem to mimic them every ware. I like that. Occasionally I have to get something for my daughter out here as well for her dorm and I would rather come here for things than Wal-Mart any day. read more

After purchasing two custom door from Lowe's and having a bad experience in their installation by the Lowe's installer, the pantry bi-fold door was scraping and never closed properly. We felt we did not want to get the installer back in our home because we lost confidence in his ability as he did not install the door properly. My husband convinced me to call the Installation Manager, Bridget Harrison in the DeLand, FL store to see if there was anything possible that can be done to rectify the problem. We received a call back from Ms Harrison and she made an appointment at our convenience to detect the problem. Not only did she come to observe she came to fix the problem. Our door now works perfectly for the very first time since the original installation. Ms Harrison is a great example of what customer service should be. She is a genuine problem solver; someone who has the skills and knowledge to resolve a problem and is a true credit to your organization. She tackled the problem relentlessly until she got it right. You are very lucky to have an employee like her and because of her we gained more confidence in Lowe's. My husband and I have twice visited this Lowes to purchase garden items and today we lugged 40 very heavy large bricks onto a dolly and then had to load them in our truck. Each time we've been to the garden center we have been approached by a guy called Chris who has a ponytail. He's given us every excuse under the sun that he cannot help us each time we have been to the garden center. Please get this guy some help or retrain him as he's lazy and doesn't appear to like working outside in the heat. We were waiting for over 20 minutes for him to help us and after helping another lady, he took off and was nowhere to be found. I thinks it's pretty sad that people in their 60s have to resort to lifting heavy bricks by themselves out in the heat, additionally my husband has a bad back and heart. I hope for Lowe's sake they don't get hit with a law suit if any of us older people hurt ourselves in the garden center. I'm pretty upset by the way we are treated there and doubt that we will return to this Lowe's in Deland. Please get this guy some help or find someone else that gives a damned about people. read more

I gave only 4 stars because Marvin seemed to be a little preoccupied on the phone when I first arrived. He fairly quickly ended his call when he realized I was intently watching and listening. After that he was very friendly and helpful. I decided to add another item to my delivery and he managed it very well. I came into the store to ask about the flooring installation that I had arranged - there was no one at the flooring desk to help me. I tried ringing the bell but it was broken. I tracked down an employee who paged a manager - after twenty more minutes, it was clear that no manager was coming. Once I finally found the manager, he said that the flooring guy was on his dinner break and would not be back for another twenty to thirty minutes - they do not schedule anyone to cover lunch or dinner breaks. He was completely unconcerned that there were three customers waiting and told me that he didn't know anything about flooring (and so why are you a manager?). Further into the project, I realized that the people that they use to install flooring (Keller Interiors) are terrible to work with - they couldn't even manage to measure the dimensions of the rooms to be tiled correctly and tried to overcharge me for labor. They are a terrible company with terrible reviews. I am buying the tile from Lowe's because I can't get this style from anyone else - and will find someone else to install it. I will be making all future purchases from Home Depot. read more

The latest trip to this store, me and my wife (we are in our 60's) were trying to load 10 sheets of plywood from rack onto a cart. If you want the worst customer service you will ever receive then this is the store for you. I bought cabinets and was told they would be delivered in three weeks. It took them six months and then they arrived broken! It took another three months to get another set. The whole time I just wanted my money back so I could go to a real store and buy them. I was told sorry they were special order so no money back even though they took over nine months total to get my cabinets! Next I bought an air conditioner and it broke in a couple of month's. I went back to Lowe's and they said it was a manufacturer problem not there problem. The manufacturer said it was not repairable and Lowes would handle it. They jerked me around for months and then refused to replace the AC. Wait it gets better. I bought a refrigerator around the same time and six months later it broke. I went to Lowes and guess what. They said its not there problem. It's a manufacturer problem. Again the manufacturer can't fix it and says Lowes should just replace it. I went in and the manager actually laughed at me. Again they screwed me over and I'm stuck with a broken refrigerator too. Lowes does not back up anything they sell. Go anywhere but Lowes. They are the worst company on earth!
