Lowes does not stand behind their products! Recently purchased a chainsaw from Lowe's and frustrated is an understatement! Purchased a Husqvarna saw that will not start. After many attempts, we decided to return the item. Because the saw was out of the box and we attempted to start the saw, the item is not returnable because Lowes cannot re-sell the item After speaking with Lowes Executive Team, the only option is to go through an Authorized Dealer to fix a brand new saw that has never been used. When you purchase an item, the expectation is that the item will work and you take it out of the box. Unfortunately, we made the assumption that the saw would work and now the item is not returnable because we assumed incorrectly. Lowe's Home Improvement Garden Center in Eatontown, NJ. I attempted to purchase a plant that did not have a price tag. A Garden Center employee advised me that the end-cap plants were clearance items and that pricing information would be available at checkout. When I reached the register, The cashier informed me that I would need to locate a Garden Center employee for pricing or find another plant with a visible tag. I explained that I had already done so and, frustrated by the conflicting instructions, decided I no longer wanted the item. Rather than simply ending the transaction, The Cashier began loudly lecturing me in front of multiple customers about the responsibilities of cashiers versus plant specialists... I called him an idiot out of frustration and I should not have. The situation escalated further when another cashier chose to add inflammatory comments instead of opting to de-escalate. I then brought the matter to Assistant Store Manager, who handled the situation professionally and quickly diffused the incident. However, even while walking away from the conversation, Craig continued calling me a liar in front of customers and employees. Regardless of any misunderstanding regarding store procedures/pricing, there was no justification for the public and unprofessional manner in which this situation was handled. I encourage management to review the surveillance footage to better understand how a routine transaction escalated into an unnecessary confrontation and loss of a customer. read more

This has been an absolutely awful experience!!!! We were delivered a broken washer on Monday. Both times they have brought a new one here to replace we are told they are not allowed to do installation. They said if they do they will be fired and their children will be homeless. ( yes they actually said that) now today they come again and said they can't replace the washer because I have a railing. I told them I can take it off very quickly. It only has 3 screws. We were told they don't have time for all that and refused to give me my replacement washer or take the old one. I told them I will figure out how to hook it up myself I just am not strong enough to swap them out. They said no. I kindly explained that my mom is going through chemotherapy and this is causing too much stress. They laughed!!!!! I paid for delivery. I paid for an appliance that actually works. At this point I can't even get anyone to give me my money back. It just makes no sense. They unhooked the non working machine and then proof just changed their minds. I highly recommend not using Lowe's for any delivery or installation. They were rude and just cruel!!!!!! We are still begging for this to be made right. read more

After several of weeks I've been to several Lowe's in Monmouth County and surrounding areas. All employees I have delt with were amazing, don't have 1 complaint. Redoing a home after just buying it is not an easy task. I would love to thank every employee that I have crossed paths with for their kindness and patience. I am really frustrated with Lowe's and Samsung, they need Better Customer Service, better communications with the vendor or the manufacturer, stop passing the buck and own up to their deficiencies. My first and last time walking into a Lowe's this morning. Walked in with my dad and daughter(3) and my daughter started acting out and running out of the store. Obviously I'm gonna drop everything, chase her, catch her and bring her right to the car because we don't act that way. Well, a manager and worker started to chase me out of the store like I was doing something wrong, because obviously corralling my toddler is some form of abuse in their eyes. It's already embarrassing enough as a parent when your kid acts out in public, but to make me feel like I am some type of monster or criminal is a whole different level that is just uncalled for. My dad spoke up and asked them what they were doing and they just walked away and another associate said, "they were just making sure everything was alright." Look, I get my kid was acting out. So just let me handle it and remove her without making it into something else entirely. Like what am I gonna do... kidnap my own kid??? read more

Ashley, one of the managers, provided me with some of the best customer service I've ever had. She empathetically listened to my month's long battle with Hisense. Because the AC unit stopped working properly one year after purchase, returns are made to the manufacturer. Each time you provide Hisense with what they request, they inform you of something else that needs to be sent in. They never gave me a list and provided me with the documents needed in any of my 5 phone calls or 5 emails. After I gave them everything they requested, they then wanted me to cut the cord to the unit and send them a picture. I was not doing that as the fan still worked. I needed at least that if I was to be without an AC unit in 90 degree heat for a week with my elderly mother. At this point I was exhausted with the situation. I knew Lowes did not take returns on this but I had no where else to turn. I told my story to the first person who picked up at customer service. She was kind and understanding. She then put Ashley, the manager, on. Ashley took ownership of the situation and solved my issue immediately. It is the type of character you would expect from a business owner who understands the thirty thousand foot view of a situation. When I arrived the next day to exchange my unit, Kim, an associate, said with a smile you must be Marie. Everyone was friendly while they got Ashley. I wanted to hug her. To sum it up. Ashley deserves recognition for her leadership. It's further evidenced by the staff she manages. read more

When they say they do everything, including installation; DO NOT BELIEVE THEM. Horrible customer service. Did not deliver when scheduled, called store, they knew nothing about it. I have had the BathVanity I ordered sitting in my living room for 4 days now. Could not get an answer from Lowe's at all as they my installs not their job, contracted out. Mind you we have paid $465 for the install and parts already.someone finally called us to set the install up, they gave us a date of August 30th. The alternative to Home Depot. I don't know if it's a good one but because Lowes is closer to my house I will go there first, especially on a rainy day. If you look at some of the other reviews I can understand their vibes. I got that same feeling: where is the staff when you need them? Friendliness goes a long way. Lacking in both departments. Maureen the checkout girl was very pleasant. Management should look a little closer into their hiring procedures if they want to maintain their business. I can envision a mini mall in this structure with about 10 independent vendors, nothing of the chain variety. It would be a great thing for the borough. Although I like Lowe's more than Home Depot I purchase pella windows custom made to replace the old bay windows the original was cancelled no knows why and they had to reenter the order, needless to say it took months before they actually were installed When the were installed one of the glass panels had a small crack so the ordered the replacement panel after more than one month they came back to install the replacement panel and yes you guest it they installed a panel that was the wrong size which would not close this is winter they wanted to leave the new wrong size that would not close I made them put the old cracked window back until the replacement correct size came in over one month later the finally completed the job I have gone to Lowe's store on several occasions they gave me the telephone number of pella after several calls and months later they wanted to charge me $250.00 to come to my home to to fixed the lock downs that just fell out of the window as far as Lowe's is concerned I spoke with Mike who does the estimate and assigned the work to an outside vendor, he did nothing to fix the problem Pella on I don't know the second or third call was going to send me a you tube video on how to fix this which I never received Whatever happened to quality of workmanship or the warranty I don't normally write these type of reviews good or bad but i will say I will not have Lowe's install anything again and if you are reading this you shouldn't either read more

Lowes is just a horribly run company, we bought a very expensive GE profile refrigerator, on the day they were to deliver it. The delivery crew refused to take it out of the box to get it through the door. Everybody knows it Hass to come out of the box and fit through a 36 inch door? So they took it back. Then they gave me a discount and had it sent again, well, this time when they took it out of the box, there was a giant dent in the front of it. Now this is twice we've taken off work to wait for this refrigerator, then they refused any more compensation. So full refund it is after two failed delivery attempts. I Purchased a sliding glass door for my balcony in January 2019. In March 2020 my downstairs neighbor reported water damage to her ceiling directly below that door. Despite multiple efforts to contact Lowe's and get them to correct this I was informed they only guarantee their installation for one year. It was extremely difficult to get anybody on the phone whatsoever. I now have someone looking at it and it is extremely clear that it was installed very badly with no waterproofing done whatsoever. Not only were the drainage holes placed directly above the space that leads directly into the wall downstairs but there was also no waterproofing materials placed behind The flashing causing a perfect drainage system for all rain to go directly into the wall to the downstairs unit. The best of Lowe's is ruined by the worst of Lowe's Eatontown. Great service when I went in to buy a grill. Staff was truly helpful and guided me to order the grill online due to the heavy crowd on a weekend. Less than great was when I came to pick up my grill and the two guys working the pick up had to find a third guy to bring the grill outside. Then when I opened my tailgate they all looked at each other like deer in the headlights. I had to ask if they could help load it into my truck. It's the help you get these days, pay part time and low wages. read more

My mother-in-law ordered a Weber Propane Grill on line. Lowe's delivered a natural gas grill. She spent from 9am to 2pm calling the store. She was put on hold a number of times and even treated very rudely by someone named Tyler. I took the phone from her when I saw her face and he was rude to me too. He insisted she had to come into the store for a refund. I asked to to speak to a manager and we were hung up on. She called back and with another worker (Justin or Jason perhaps) when she asked for a manager we were hung up on again. I called corporate customer service at 2pm and spoke with a lovely woman named Amber. Unfortunately, it seemed the company prevented her from solving our problem. At first she too said my mother-in-law must go to the store for the refund. I explained that even if she wasn't nearly 70 in the middle of a pandemic, she should not be inconvenienced any more than she already has been. Lowe's was willing to take the money on-line it should be able to refund us in the same manner. She spoke with her manager and acquiesced. BUT was unable to do it herself. Apparently we have to wait for the store to call us within 24 hours to give us the refund and schedule a pick up time. We'll see what happens (still waiting for that call back 4 days later). FYI we had purchased lots of food to grill for a party and were unable to do so. When we realized the Store's mistake, we had hoped for a quick exchange the next day (day of the party) but that didn't happen. Because of the store's incompetence, we were forced to spend hundreds of dollar on catering and freeze the food we purchased. Now we just want the refund.... read more

I know this Lowe's has 2 stars but I've had nothing but positive friendly service here. We recently purchased a washer and dryer, and this was one of the first times ever in a giant box store an associate was helpful (actually 2 associates). They were honest, helpful and friendly the entire time. They even told us when we move to come back and use the 10% coupon they send in the mail, which we did, saved me $135 bucks! We came back and bought a lawnmower, coming from the city I know squat about lawnmowers, the associate in this department was also very helpful and didn't try to sell me a $1000 lawnmower for a quarter acre lot. He got me what I needed and we joked about how I was clueless to this kinda stuff, he didn't take advantage of that. The paint department was great too, he told us about the paint without chemicals as we were picking out paint for our baby's room. Maybe it's because the Lowes and HD in Jersey City/North Bergen are hell on earth and the service is non existent but this one was top notch! read more

Worst experience and worst customer service I've experienced. Placed an order online ahead of time for store pickup the next day for an item that showed 12 in stock. I already overpaid for this item by $150 compared to amazon but I needed it next day and amazon couldn't do it. The morning im supposed to pick up my order I call ahead of time to find out they do not have the item and can't find it. Nobody bothered to call me to tell me this I had to call them and find out after being on hold for 30 minutes. We bought a new refrigerator, wall oven, cook top, washer & dryer and dishwasher from this store. The store is understaffed in appliances and can never get anyone on the phone for help. When I do stop by the store to speak to someone about damage to a delivered item. The sales associate says they will look into it but, I never hear back from them. I would recommend a smaller store or even Best Buy before i'd recommend Lowes. Don't try to call, endless loop of menus and redirects. I purchased a large order on-line. First off the web site default to what it wants. It doubled my order on the most expensive item. it was delivered early. When I finally had a chance to break down the pallet, I found that on the item they claimed the doubled, they actually shorted me 7 sheets of T1-11 plywood at $36.58 per sheet this is costly. When I trued to call the store I was given the old run-around. I was told I had to speak to the delivery guy Rich. he has not returned my calls, was told there was not manager on site. I was told I could not file a complaint to challenge the credit card etc... My big bit of advice to not buy on line do not use there charge card the alleged 5% savings is not worth the prices. Always use chase or mastercard a credit line that will help you resolve issue. They are masters at ripping people off. Avoid this store at all costs. read more

The worst customer service of anywhere. I drove over 20 miles to have purchase a lock that could be keyed to my key (after being informed this service could be done). Had to wait on the person to get off break - then to be informed that he was not able to do the door knob - only the dead bolt. Then was informed by a couple of very rude employees that I should have called to make sure they could do it (which I did). They tell me they have something in stock at another store. I drove all the way there and they couldn't find it. I just think they should make sure the product is there before they make you drive all the way there.. Futhermore the pricing is better at home depot.
