We were at similar business a little over 4 miles away that was completely disorganized and dirty, things needed for trim etc were no good bc of how dirty. Prices were competitive, the quality was much better with some good choices! We will be back, they had clean display and some quality tiles to choose from. I bought a bathroom vanity once I had it installed. The top drawer was not closing smoothly. It was bumping into the bottom of the sink. I called customer service to see if they could help me with this. The best they could do is 10% discount return to me, which does not help me because I have to look for a carpenter to fix drawer. If I send it back the money I invested for plumbers work is lost and I will have to repay a plumber to install a replacement. not happy. read more

Though the grill wasn't on the floor for display, I approached two employees and they did their due diligence to search in the back to see if they could locate the item. First attempt they only found a slightly damaged assembled grill which I wasn't interested in. However, as I was almost about to leave the store after browsing for non related products, they approached me and said they found another grill, new in the box. I was trying to purchase a paint roller stick and 2 propane tanks This is the closest Home Improvement store to my house so I'm there often. I'm to the point that I Rather drive an xtra 1 mile to the Home Depot. 30 minutes standing around at the paint booth for help and no one around, I asked 3 employees and all 3 said that is not my department, so I gave up and just wanted to get 2 propane tanks and the lady told me to pay for the tanks and go to the other side of the building and try to find the manager so he/she can open the cage where the tanks are. If no stars was an option, that would be the rating. I ordered a new fridge (to come with an ice maker), the first week of January. From there, everything was down hill. My fridge arrived that week after the order was placed (on a weekday). When the order arrived, it was brought in, and I informed the gentlemen that an ice maker was missing, to which I was told there was no ice maker with this machine...this information was inaccurate since, the fridge model itself comes with an ice maker. So I had to call the store, which due to lack of response led to me having to drive to the store to speak to a manager to get this resolved. After this I was told my ice maker would be delivered and installed that Saturday. The men showed up that Saturday and "installed" the ice maker (if only it was that simple). The next morning water had leaked and frozen all in the freezer due to improper installation of the ice maker. After again having to spend hrs getting a hold of Lowes they agreed to deliver a new fridge and ice maker. This delivery was suppose to occur on the upcoming Saturday, but instead they showed up during the week (luckily someone was home), but once again, the fridge arrived with no ice maker. So again, we had to call Lowe's and go through the horrendous process of getting a hold of someone to deliver the ice maker. They agreed to the Saturday (when the fridge originally should have arrived).... After waiting around all Saturday I come to find out they delivered to the wrong location. So we are now on the fifth attempt to get an ice maker. We once again schedule a weekend (as, like most, I work all week). Come delivery, the men again come in, unpack the ice maker and after damaging the freezer, they told me it's not the right ice maker and left. FIVE MINUTES LATER ANOTHER SET OF MEN FROM LOWES SHOW UP. I tell them they just left saying it's the wrong ice maker. Ultimately, these men installed the ice maker ... after being upset that I was concerned that it was the wrong model, and being brushed off .... I don't know if the ice maker even works... but I do know this company and store do not communicate with each other, have terrible customer service, and just utterly do not care. Even though the store is being re-organized he knew exactly where to find the product on the highest rack of the store. Uby told me he would be back with a electric ladder then he brought the box down himself and helped me put it onto a cart. I normally don't like to give bad reviews because only one or two employees are bad but in my case with this store at this location, this is the second time I come I received a poor service, maybe it was a bit busier. But today it was a very slow time and normally I try to help myself in this type of stores, but I needed help because unfortunately they did not have the item that I needed available off the shelf, so you will actually have to get a ticket and then ask for an associate to help you. I did approach an associate today but I don't believe he wanted to do it and after I asked the second question he practically was annoyed and he didn't seem eager to go not even the extra mile I'm not asking for extra effort I'm just asking for whatever you have to put in a job that you're getting paid for that's all! In my recent experience with Lowe's, I've found that they don't care about the customers when you are returning an item you purchase at their stores if you don't have a receipt having a receipt you need to make sure you keep your receipts if not they know the product belongs to then and they won't give you not even a store credit. This Lowe's location in Hialeah is pretty standard and I mean that in a good way. It's clean, organized, and customer service is always pretty good. It's not too hard to find a Lowe's associate that can help. And to me, that's the difference between Lowe's and Home Depot. It's already hard enough to find what I'm looking for in such a huge store and I don't have a lot of time to spend. At Home Depot, good luck tracking someone down and getting the right answer to your question. I recently walked out of a Home Depot out of frustration because of lack of assistance. So I left and went straight to Lowe's where the associates are available to assist and are fairly detailed with their suggestions. I recently came to purchase baseboards as I learned about the different types that are sold. I found a great price here at Lowe's and bought all of my baseboards and spent less than anticipated. However, I recently came again to buy basic cool white light bulbs non-dimmable 4000k. Lowe's didn't have this :[ but they had soft white and daylight bulbs as well as a wide variety of dimmable (more expensive) bulbs. Apparently, more customers purchase dimmable bulbs because there were way too many of these. read more

Would you believe this is the first time I step inside a Lowe's? Usually I just go to Home Depot, but this was one of those that my friend wanted to go to Lowe's to compare prices. Something about prices being better there, but meh - to be honest, I didn't see much, if any, of a difference. Where I did see a difference was in customer service. The staff we spoke to seemed even more apathetic than what could possibly be considered as normal. I have no idea if this has to do with the day or the people themselves. We went on a Friday night about a couple of hours before closing time and the entire experience can be described as blah. Staff seemed blasé and questions were answered with "I think..." as if they themselves weren't certain as to where to find certain tools. We did talk to one employee who knew when and where stuff would arrive, but that isn't enough to make me change my impression of the place. To top it off, when we did go and pay, the card machine kept taking forever. Technology - sigh; can't live with it and can't live without it. Not their fault as they're not computer wizards, but it is a pain all the same. Also, this location unlike others closes an hour early at 9 PM, so yes, consider me not a fan. Parking is always easy here you always find available parking nearby especially the entrance and exit of the store. Went in to get two items within the store, unfortunately I was only able to get one out of the two. Seems like any hardware store they no longer carry small tankless water heater. To get one of these small tankless water heaters you'll have to order it on their website and have it delivered. Much of the items here are pretty pricey luckily I had a gift card and was able to purchase the other item that they did had. During the checkout it took me less than 5 minutes which I was very happy. read more

Over time this Lowes has changed for the worse. My most recent experience was a frustrating attempt to do something that should have been a joy... buying a Christmas tree. Most specifically, they close the tree tent at random and unposted times. Monday we went at 6:30 and it was closed. When we asked what the hours were we were told by a manager that the tent follows store hours normally, but had closed early to intake a shipment. The manager (Sal) offered to set a tree aside for us since I knew we'd be later the next day, and said to ask for Chris. So although we were later Tuesday, we believed what we were told, but again they closed just as we arrived at 7:30. They were still helping customers, but shut the door ax we arrived. They were very rude to us, and when we said that a manager had told us a tree was set aside we were literally yelled at and told that they don't care, they're closed. Chris apparently was gone, so we spoke with another manager and rudely were told they close at 7, and we should know that because it's posted on the garden center. He made no offer to check into the set aside tree. On our departure we checked and could not find any posted tree tent hours and the attendant at the garden center also stated that trees are sold until the store closes. A third manager then claimed he overheard my conversation with Sal Monday and he insisted Sal told me the tree sales ended at 7, which was definitely not what Sal told me. This manager, Carlos, was outright calling me a liar. My wife and I walked away very frustrated. One of the worst customer service experiences I've had. read more

I came to this Lowe's to buy a 243 piece mechanic's tool set that I saw online for $99.00 and a replacement water filter for my refrigerator. The Lowe's app said that there were 5 of the mechanics toolset in stock at this Lowe's but when I asked the hardware associate he said that they didnt have any in the store even though they just finished doing a store wide inventory count. My time in the refrigerator section didnt go any better either, I saw an associate there and they called someone called Eyan who had me waiting for over 30 minutes before I gave up and left. The worst customer service in the United States. I ordered a refrigerator online and had to wait for a month to receive it. When the logistics company, XPO Logistics (awful customer service), finally delivered the item, the refrigerator was damaged. So, they asked if I still wanted it. I said Yes because my old refrigerator wasn't working anymore. They brought it upstairs and looked at my old refrigerator and said they could not haul it away unless I uninstall it prior. Well, I have no idea how to uninstall a refrigerator, so I had to call a handy man to come and uninstall it. Now, the new refrigerator is in the entry way of my apartment and the old refrigerator is uninstalled, sitting in the middle of my kitchen making the kitchen inaccessible. Lowes said XPO Logistics would be out on Tuesday, no one ever called or showed. When I called Lowes they told me that my delivery was fulfilled on 5/31. I told them this was incorrect. They rescheduled the haul away for the following day. The next day, XPO called and said they were 20 minutes out. An hour later I get a phone call telling me the drivers were here but they couldn't find parking so they left. When I told them to send their drivers back they said the only way to reschedule was to call Lowes. A vicious cycle working with Lowes and XPO, I decided to break it. I went out of my way and out of my pocket and hired a different haul away company. College H.U.N.K.S Haul Away Service. I was able to schedule a haul away service within two hours of calling. I guess if you decide to buy an appliance, choose the self pick-up option to avoid all of the above. read more

Personally, I prefer Lowe's to Home Depot. Unfortunately there aren't as many Lowes' stores in the Miami/Lauderdale area as there are Home Depot locations, so most of the time I'm stuck with the big orange box store. Recently I needed to get a new spout/diverter for my bath tub. I went to Home Depot to buy a replacement, and found that they were only willing to sell complete bath/shower plumbing sets for $100 or more that contained the faucet, shower head and spout. I didn't need all of that, just the spout. I went to the websites of both Home Depot and Lowe's, and while they both had what I needed on their sites, only Lowe's would ship my item to their store for free so I could pick it up there. Home Depot wanted to charge me an ass load of shipping and handling charges to ship it to my house. I checked other stores and websites, and in the end, Lowes also had this item for about $10 cheaper than I could get it anywhere else. SOLD! My only real issue I had with this purchase was that I ordered this item on 12/4/10, yet my slip said the estimated pickup date wouldn't be until 1/1/11. That's nearly a month to wait for a simple $20 part. When I went to pick it up, the woman at the customer service desk had to make an announcement over the PA system 3 times before she finally got a manager to make a more forceful announcement to get someone to go back to the stock room to get this item for me. Also, according to the box, it was delivered to the store back on 12/21. So it was here in Miami and ready to be picked up on 12/21, but no one bothered to contact me either by phone or e-mail to let me know it had come in earlier than the estimated delivery date of 1/1. Other than that, I've always been happy with Lowe's. Their pricing is always spot on, checkout lines are short, the selection is good, and unlike Home Depot, I've never seen them run out of stock, at least on the items I've wanted to buy. read more

Been asking around for connections but they happened to all be in Broward. So, I do a quick search on Home Depot and Lowe's site. Now here is where I get particular. I do not want any dyes, cypress, rubber or herbicide. That knocks out almost everything of both stores. (Shame really) How can it be so hard to get melaleuca or Australian pine? I find some "plantation grown Floridian Eucalyptus" which I take as a euphemism for Melaleuca for 3.33 a bag. Heck that was better then the fake red cypress (ugh!!!! the horror) at $12 for 3 bags. Had the friendly online chat, placed the order and headed over to the store. Now here is the moment were I feel like a genius. I have just bought what I want, without standing in line and no "no speakie, no help" attitude. Wow!! This is Awesome!! I go to the Hialeah Lowe's. Go park in the pick up area. Ask for some assistance (ohh this is going to be awesome!) and ..... wait for it.... get passed to 3 different people that have no idea what on line ordering is. The one who did know said to go to Customer Service desk. For those of you who may have never stepped into a Lowe's of HD, that would be ALLLL the way over to the entrance. Okie dokie.... Aaaaannnnddddd, I get in line with the 5 abuelos each with mega carts of returns. (1st sign that this was definite not going to turn out as I planned) Finally get to the desk (images of Beetlejuice in my head) and my cart of mulch is pointed to me......with a large pool of water under the cart. :( As I get ready to sign the invoice... the bells are going off in my head. Really? Dump the crap product on the person ordering on line. Yeah..No! I head off to the garden section, ask for assistance (never came), asked for the Manager (never came) went over to the mulch pile... dry as a bone. Now I am really pissed, almost unreasonably so. There is a whole lot of mantra going on in my head not to say what is close to coming out of my mouth. I go back to the consumer service desk. The 5 have now been replaced by 10. A Lowe's employee happened to walk by, I ask "what does it take to get a manager" He is the first person to act and respond as if he cares. (This was the turning point from horrible to acceptable, never underestimate the power of one person caring) Everything suddenly pivots and "people" are now coming out of the wood works. I move the truck, they bring the mulch, we agree to just load the dry one and replace the wet ones. Within 3 bags, Sharon makes the call. "This batch is bad, let me get the forklift" Whewww Thank you!! I don't care if it's a bit damp, but when the bag is holding a 1/2 gallon of water, not so much. To conclude....Jacque and Sharon and another gentleman, who's name I missed, overcame a majority of their co workers apathy. Good for them. Lowe's is lucky to have them. read more

BUT IF YOU DO DARE HERE ARE SOME TIPS: 1.Don't rely on what show's in stock online-call confirm and get document everything. 2.They may and most likely will change the pick up store location if it's more convenient for them. (I have no problem with this as long as they due the work of calling in person and making sure the item is physically available.) 3. If someone calls you day prior to delivery after 4o'clock you won't get your item til whenever "their" next open date is. 4. If you call Customer Service to either follow up or make a formal complaint, prepare to be on the phone with customer service for between 1-2 hours each time you call since that's how they communicate with store staff and managers. (there should be a back office system) SYNOPSIS: Their system is archaic and needs a major overhaul. The communication between customer service rep's and stores is obsolete-they have to call like a customer would call into the store and are kept on hold eternally as well. There is inaccurate information on quantities therefore causing placed orders vs "actual availability" error almost instantly. By the time they realize it, it's too late to correct and satisfy the consumer. HR may not have the resources to improve on quality of the staff they hire to follow thru on these huge errors, but if I was an investor in this company I'd certainly want to seriously look into this constructive criticism. They could have had me as a permanent customer! read more

This is the closest Lowe's to where we live. We drive 20-25 minutes to shop here rather than going to a Home Depot less than two miles from our house. Today, we had a very frustrating experience with curbside pickup and, subsequently, customer service. Upon arrival, we checked in on the app as instructed. When, after 15 minutes, we had heard nothing, we called, only to be greeted by a very disinterested rep in the pickup department. After being placed on hold for ten minutes, one of us went inside to speak with customer service. It became clear that nothing was in progress of being delivered. Another 15 minutes, the item finally appeared, but there was no apology for the wait. In fact, no one said, "Thank you for shopping Lowe's." Time to rethink our loyalty! read more

We love Lowes in Tampa, but I am pretty disappointed with the Hialeah store. We purchased two refrigerators for our tenants. The first refrigerator was not delivered the next day as promised. When I went to the store to check on why the delivery did not take place. Well, the lady in the appliance department set up the delivery for the month of December. We are now in October. That was mistake number one. Now a different lady set delivery for the next day. Everything was fine and it was delivered. We purchased the second refrigerator. However, she said she has to check on inventory with each appliance ordered and has to go back to the stock room. No accuracy set on their computer with inventory.30 minutes later she shows up! Now delivery number 2 has taken place and the refrigerator does not work. Today Sunday I have called five times and I have been on hold multiple times and have been promised that the manager will call me back prior to closing. Of course I never got a phone call. I can't run a business with a store that does not have inventory in control. Accuracy is important in this business. Returning calls is imperative and time is of essence. Get your act together because up North your stores are run with pride. I grew up in Hialeah and this is not a representation of what Hialeah is known for. read more
