I went in and ordered a stackable dryer that n a Sunday morning. Gave them everything I was looking for and needed. Had delivery setup for the up coming Tuesday. They gave me a 7a-7p window for delivery. (Really who can stay home that long?) Then I finally get a call the day of giving me a delivery between 2-6pm. They show up at 2pm. Take our old dryer and drop the new one in the garage and say they can't install because they don't have the parts. I ordered everything the store said we needed for install and paid and then they show up and are not prepared. We called the store and spoke to multiple people and got bounced to delivery every-time, but delivery department kept putting us on hold and wouldn't send anyone back out to complete install. They were very rude and not helpful at all. Finally we end up with a person in the store that steps in and tried to get things squared away to get the install on Wednesday. Then Wednesday morning he calls and says that they can deliver the parts but can't install it and that we have to wait. Wait till when? Yeah I'm still waiting!!! I ordered flooring. Everything went well except one piece of trim they couldn't seem to get. I made several calls, talked to different people, got different answers as to why they didn't have the piece. I was promised they would check into. Didn't call me back. I purchased a new toilet from Lowes. Big mistake. After a team of plumbers from a local, established plumbing company attempted for about an hour and a half to install the toilet, it continued to leak. They concluded that the toilet was affected by a manufacturing defect. Lowes would not consider a return. Their suggestion was that I contact the manufacturer. That is, they refused to stand by a product that they sold. I have been a frequent shopper at Lowes, for many years. Never again. I am so tickled, I am putting two pieces in the Zeeland Pumpkin Fest art walk this year. So...this morning I went to the paint department at Lowe's here in Holland. I gave the well dressed and polite young man my order. I need a gallon of elephant gray, and testers of pumpkin orange, bright green and bright purple. He said okay, that will be about 8 minutes, so I left my husband to wait and went to look at plants. Came back, everything was done, service at this country was great. Walked back to the plant area, checked the selection again on the way out. Not today. A young man by the name of Khoi checked us out, again great service, I think we got our product at a good price, everyone we talked to was welcoming and kind. I purchased a GE fridge at Lowe's along with a kit that was "everything you need to connect the ice maker" and included installation. When the delivery crew arrived they said that there was a policy that prevented them from hooking up the fridge because it didn't have the correct connection in the back. This was the first that I heard of this. I had to quickly find a handyman on a Saturday afternoon who could come and connect the fridge, while my food sat on my counter thawing. When he looked at the "kit" there was no hardware to connect it, just a hose. He had to go to Menards and purchase the necessary hardware. Though the crew that were delivering the fridge were kind, courteous and professional, they were prevented from actually doing the job by the random company policy that is only revealed to you when it is too late to do anything about it. If I hadn't found a handyman I would have had to return the fridge and start all over again. As it is, I'm out of pocket for another installation charge. With all the refrigerators that Lowe's sells you'd think they'd be aware of policies like this and could make you aware of them at the time of purchase. read more

I ordered blinds online and thought they were a "standard " size. Box came with "custom cut" on the side and were the wrong color. Refund policy online said return to local store. At the Holland, MI store customer service desk, a sign was hanging stating no custom cut blinds could be return. Insane return policy! Had a shockingly bad experience at the Lowe's in Holland, MI. Shortly after Black Friday, we bought my parents a microwave oven. When they opened it on Christmas we discovered the turntable base was broken. Thinking it should be easy to remedy we stopped by this Lowe's to exchange. They took back the return, but told us that to exchange would be $100 due to today's price because the appliance had been purchased at a different Lowe's. This is insane! I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF A NATIONAL CHAIN NOT HONORING EXCHANGES FROM ANOTHER OF THEIR STORES!! When in exasperation we just wanted to take back the original damaged appliance we had brought back they said they could only sell it back to us at today's increased price!!! This is utterly crazy. After calling a manager they were finally able to let us take back our own appliance, but the manager was absolutely indifferent to the whole situation. We just looked up Lowe's official return policy which says you have 90 days to exchange or return items at ANY Lowe's store. This store is not even honoring corporate policy! I bought a Craftsman 60 gallon air compressor from Lowe's and the motor went out in a month. They gave me a hard time switching it out because they couldn't find my purchase even though I had bought it with my Lowe's Credit Card. After 2 hours of searching, they swapped it out with an 80 gallon craftsman air compressor and I paid the difference because they didn't have any more 60 gallon compressors. After installing the new compressor, the control module went out 2 months later! I called the warranty and it is a third party that I had to wait on hold for an hour, and they need the receipt of purchase. I lost my receipt so I went back to Lowe's to get my receipt. They said they need the exact date of purchase in order to provide a receipt even though I bout it with my Lowe's credit card. If you are a business, DONT PURCHASE CRAFTSMAN FROM LOWES. It'll be at least a month before you are back in business. And if you do purchase from Lowe's KEEP EVERY RECEIPT because you won't be able to do anything without it. I rested assured that I would be able to quick fix any issues simply because I assumed that they were able to access my credit card purchases; I was mistaken. FAILURE TO DELIVER A PRODUCT ORDERED ON BACKORDER & ONLY OFFERED REFUND AFTER WE PRESSED On August 3 we purchased an upright 21.3 cu ft GE freezer that was on sale from this Lowes store in Holland, MI. The freezer was on backorder and so the sales agent who sold us the unit, set up delivery for late September. We called a couple of days before the delivery date to confirm, and were told the item was showing as discontinued, and the agent said he would contact another rep who had a contact at GE to find out more information. We never heard back. I emailed the agent again November 15. He responded that he never heard back from GE and the item is no longer available and offered a smaller 17 cu ft Whirlpool freezer at "the same price we paid" for the GE or a refund. I am disappointed that when we purchased and paid for the product, one of the incoming units from GE was not reserved to fulfill our order. I'm also highly disappointed by the customer service. Lowes never reached out to us to tell us the delivery would not be taking place. Lowes never followed on our inquiry to tell us the order could not be fulfilled at all. And Lowes remedy for the problem and poor customer service is mediocre at best. Lowes has failed to live up to its promises -all the while holding our $838.46. We have other options for the same products in our area. I had always thought Lowes to be a notch above competitors. I guess I need to rethink. read more

We went to Lowes on a Saturday morning at 10:30am to look and probably buy an exterior door and 2 windows. We waited a few minutes in the windows and door area. My husband walked to the flooring department to ask for some help. We were told that they had no one working in that dept for the day. We then asked to have a manager help us and were told there was not a manager there either, no one could help us. We had questions and a special order. I contracted Lowe's to install a new roof and completely remove all the old (two layers) roofing material down to the decking and replace some rotten joists over my front porch. I was quoted roughly $12,600 and was able to finance it for 24 mo interest free on my new Lowe's Credit Card. After a few days passed I received a call that the price is now $15,273. I was told they misquoted and that the roof is larger than they had originally thought. Even though they had been out to measure. I sucked it up and wrote a check for the additional $3,273. After telling Lowe's that they could not start on Mother'd Day weekend, I get a call from the installers saying "hey we will be out there May 11th" (the Friday before Mother's Day) to which I replied, um... NO YOU'RE NOT! I then got a call the following day from the installers saying the installer's could start May 25th. Not realizing it was the Memorial day weekend, I agreed to it. The team showed up at around 10:30am on Friday of Memorial Day weekend. They said this was "an easy job" and that they "would be in and out in two days, TOPS!" Great, guest won't arrive until Saturday afternoon! Now, as everybody knows, Lowe's does not use their own labor, they contract this out other construction companies in the region. In this case they hired Chapton Construction LLC. However, a company and crew of eight people showed up from a company called Allied Roofing. I mentioned to them that they are getting a "late start" to which they replied "oh, that's because we all come from one hour north of Grand Rapids Mi. (insert eye roll) After working till only 4:30pm the team left the property and left behind one of the workers old dilapidated truck in my driveway rendering the drive useless to me. The next day, Saturday, they showed up around 10:30am-11:00am and worked until 5pm. Three of the eight man crew spent the majority if the day under the broken down truck trying to repair some drive train bearings. They did not even come close to finishing 1/2 the job in the two days. I was told by the "foreman" that they would not be back because they have other jobs to do and that Chapton would be sending another crew. I was mad but it was a Holiday weekend, I had guests arriving and did not have time to be angry. Also, did I mention that this broken down truck was full of empty beer cases and cans? Filled to the brim! I also forgot to mention that they didn't have the material they needed to fix some rotten decking and joists so I had to go to the lumber yard in my OWN CAR and paid out of my own pocket for the material and DROVE IT ACROSS town with my hatch open because they did not have a working truck! A $155 additional payment and no reimbursement or apology! Then, I took a look at the back yard where they had rolled out the rubber roofing material to measure and cut. They had left the remainder of the roll on my lawn all day and FRIED my lawn to the point it was a big brown spot in my otherwise beautiful yard. My partner came home and walked the property and pointed out the fact that all the shingles appear to be "running down-hill" in other words they installed all the shingle cooked (not level). I was angry but knew they needed to finish...perhaps this is something the next crew can repair/address. When Chapton Construction showed up on Sunday to see where the last crew had left off, I was told "we are having issues with that crew, which is weird, because they are our 'best crew' and that the foreman had a death in the family, but a new crew would be coming." No mention as to what day that would be. The crew showed up Tuesday around 10am (bankers hours not construction hours). This time in a van that said "Chapton Constructions LLC". They only had three individuals. The new foreman quickly got to work. I complained to him about the two issues we had so far and he said "It should be the other crew that comes back to fix the problem." Are you kidding me! He then started complaining about how Lowe's doesn't pay them for 30 days and that they make way less on Lowe's jobs. He later tells me that "We don't normally do roofs". Not something you want to hear from guys working on your roof. On Wednesday, the new team's second day, they tore off the whole back side, we were anticipating a storm and I had mentioned to them that "hey guys it's going to rain at 3:30pm". No problem they told me! I went to work for a few hours and came back at 4pm and they laughed and said "where is that rain?" Well, at 4:30pm the sky opened up and it literally RAINED IN MY HOUSE! I have video of a soaked three season room that is all stained logs (I have a log home) I also have video of it RAINING in my kitchen & garage. I had to remove all my kitchen cabinet contents, toss a bunch of perishables etc. Okay, so this was an error I wasn't loosing my mind, I just wanted them to finish. Nov. 2022 I ordered the LG Tower washer and dryer and it was delivered and installed by a couple of courteous men. 20 minutes later I walked into my tiny laundry room to find a puddle coming from under my freezer situated tightly next to the tower. I thought I would call the to men back that had delivered to maybe keep "corporate" out of it and give them a chance to fix but they accused the freezer of being the problem and said it was on me. So at 70 years old, I dragged a step ladder in there and laid over the top of my upright freezer and could see water running down the wall from the hookups. Meanwhile water was accumulating on the basement floor below, going through the new flooring I had had installed the week before. It took half the day to hook up with someone at Lowe's equipped to handle my problem and they said they would have someone call to set up an appt So I just lost half my post here on Yelp. Not going to retype now. So after requesting they not send the same guys back, that's exactly what they did. My son was able to tighten the hoses for me. No thanks to Lowes. Lowe's is a little further drive for me as I live on south side of Holland. I've mostly have shopped at the other home hardware store for many years. Since some recent not so nice experiences at this store and having spent much money there through the years I've chosen to take my business to Lowe's. I appreciate the kindness and helpfulness we've experienced since the very first time shopping there and the extra drive has been and will continue to be well worth it. We were at Lowe's today and saw 5 people without masks on. I asked and the manager said they can not require anyone to wear a mask. Leaving I noticed it was not posted that masks were required. We will not ever go to Lowe's again. They do not value the health of their customers nor do they care if they have a store full of spreaders. Ok Lowes, we ordered rubberized mulch for our front yard. We PAID you to deliver the mulch to our house. We PAID you for the mulch. This was over a month ago, actually closer to 6 weeks ago. We have called & called. Your response has been, " yea we owe you mulch and it will be delivered soon. " After being on hold 15 minutes and finally being able to speak with someone, we were told that it they would have to get it from another store. WHAT THE HELL? We ordered six bags of mulch. For the amount of money it cost to deliver we could have driven there twice and brought them home. We purchased other items that day and had no room. We figured it would save another trip. Lowe's was excellent in the process of ordering, delivering, and installing windows, sliders, and screen doors. Their price was awesome and they came on time to do the job. However, they never finished installing two screen doors. They would not slide on the tracks and didn't work to say the last. Over a two week period I tried to get them to complete the work they were paid to deliver. Sadly, after 16 phone calls, I gave up on them fixing their errors. If you pay Lowe's to do the job make sure you document each part with photographs and paperwork. Even then, they will often not finish the job. read more

I do not know the name of the company that Lowe's subcontracts for their flooring projects, but they are awful. I had them install carpet and vinyl flooring in my house and they did not at all do what they said they would do. Places where they said they would use one piece of carpet, i.e. stairway and hallway, they used at least two, resulting in visible seams in the floor that should not be there. They neglected to tack the carpet down in the corners in multiple locations, and now the carpet comes up when I vacuum it. I also had them expand the tiled area of my kitchen, and there is a very pronounced lump of clay where they tried to level out the floor between what used to be carpet and what had always been vinyl. Worst of all, when I called to get someone to come out and redo the flooring, they were outright rude and mean to me. "You can't tell me how to do my job," is one response that really got my blood boiling. Do not use these guys, regardless of who they contract for their flooring. There is such a convoluted bureaucracy between Lowe's, the guy the contract for the project, the people he uses to install it, and the people who actually do the work, that it is impossible to get anyone to accept responsibility for their poor work. read more

Lowes was in charge of my condo residing and window replacement. The WORST experience ever, What was suppose to take 39 days lasted 90. The employee involved Teressa was the most inexperienced person. She lied to us numerous times. We had to spend over 1,000 dollars of our own money that we were told we would get paid back. Still haven't . All of our new windows came in either wrong color, wrong size or function. She was never here to check on status. Maybe once a week. If you're looking for assistance of any kind beyond ringing up the cash register, run, don't walk, away from this horror show of a store. We just purchased a new home a few months ago and are doing some remodeling. Lacking a Home Depot less than 40 miles away, Lowe's in Holland seemed like a natural choice for a lot of items. It is, after all, a big box home improvement center. Theoretically a lot of options for a lot of the kinds of things you go to a home improvement store for. But this place ought to get an award for incompetence, lack of communication, disinterest, and just generally jerking customers around. My first clue involved a bathroom vanity. The home we're working on is a vacation/weekend home and we don't live here full time, so when I went to Lowe's to purchase a bathroom vanity, I was pretty clear about delivery dates. This was mid-June. We purchased a vanity and plumbing fixtures and set a delivery date on the following Friday (they don't do weekends). I took a day off work and came up a day early from Chicago to be at the home to receive it. I waited all day and when it never came I called to find out what had happened. After being passed from person to person, I finally got somebody who told me they'd rescheduled the delivery for the 4th of July. Yes, the store that doesn't deliver on weekends wanted to make the delivery on the the national holiday (a day I didn't plan to be there) and didn't even see fit to inform me that they'd unilaterally decided to reschedule it. A more recent experience involved carpet. We are planning to carpet a basement that has an awful tile floor on it at present. We went to Lowe's and looked at samples, and told the sales person about the tile and the need to put a smoothing compound on it to install a carpet over it. (This is apparently normal. I hadn't known that but I've now spoken to enough carpet installers to know it is common and works well.) She said, no problem, just let the installer know when he comes out to measure. We made an appointment for the installer to come out (which he did, on time, in a rare display of competence). I asked about the cost of doing the smoothing and he said he'd include it in the estimate. He measured and left. We waited about a week, and were beginning to wonder if we were ever going to hear about the estimate when we got a call from him in the car late on a Friday evening. He gave us the estimate, and it sounded pretty reasonable. He asked if we'd picked out the carpet we wanted. I said we had (in the interim we'd ordered and paid for samples on lowes.com) but that since we were driving, I didn't have the information. He said no problem, just go into the store, they'll have the estimate and we can set up the install. Next day I drove to the store (15 miles in pouring rain) because I wanted to get this carpet project moving. Arrived and waited for a sales person who found the estimate and informed me that 1) the estimate didn't include either the carpeting or the smoothing compound, and 2) it didn't bloody matter because "for warranty reasons" they couldn't install carpeting over the tile at all. They could only help if we found someone to tear out the tile first (a horrible, very expensive and completely unnecessary task). Now if Lowe's doesn't want to carpet over tile, that's their prerogative. But if that's the case, why didn't the sales person or the estimator (both of whom I discussed it with) know that? And why did the guy who called with the estimate send me to the store instead of just telling me they couldn't do the job on the phone? Their refusal "for warranty reasons" was right there on the estimate. But instead of telling me that, he gave me a BS price to lure me back into their store. I've also been working on a granite counter top install simultaneously with the carpet. The sales person who was working on that appears to only speak to whoever's screaming at her at the moment and to forget promises made the minute she finishes a conversation. She broke promises to get estimates to me several times until I finally got one after I reached a manager and complained. Moreover she's been unresponsive since then as I've tried to get the granite moving. Neither phone calls nor emails (I have her email address) get returned. I had an appointment set up (back to the store) tomorrow to try to get that moving, but the carpet was the last straw. Three strikes and you're out. I cancelled it. I will find someone else. I'm not honestly sure these stories can fully convey the "I don't know and I don't care" attitude I've experienced at every step in trying to be a customer of this place, but I have had it. I will never set foot in Lowe's again. 40 miles to Home Depot isn't that far and the time it takes to drive it is nothing compared to the time you'll waste trying to get Lowe's to do what they say they'll do. read more

My husband, 2 year old son and I went in to the Lowes in Holland, Michigan to price out windows. There was not a soul in the store other than employees and a few customers. We went to the window department and the "customer service" representative was helping another customer so we waited. When he was done with the other customer he came over and asked us how he could help. We explained that we were replacing our windows and just needed a quote. He looked over and say my son playing in the race car shopping cart, not making a scene or causing any problems and said that he couldn't do our quote right then because my son was bouncing around the cart and it was going to take him a long time, especially with how many phone calls and things that he gets. Seriously, we had like 5 windows we needed prices on and he had NO customers and there were almost no customers in the store. He told me he would do the quote and email me. I called and spoke to the manager, and instead of being told that he would address it, he made an excuse for the guy. I will NEVER be back to a Lowes again. They just lost a several thousand dollar sale all because they guy was annoyed by my 2 year old son who wasn't bothering anyone. I recently went to this location to use the warranty on some of my Craftsman tools. All of the service reps purposefully hid from me(I could see every single worker conveniently walking away at a brisk pace). I wandered around on the Craftsman section for over 10 minutes and nobody came. I wasn't the only one trying to find a rep. I finally went to the service counter where I was rudely told to go to Sears instead. That Sears is almost an hour away from my house and over and hour from the store. The service rep wouldn't listen to me and made it quite clear she had no interest in helping me. She treated me like a child and insulted my intelligence. I left, to go to my vehicle parked all the way across from the store. As I was leaving another employee said "Have a nice day!" I replied with just as much enthusiasm. As I was leaving, she says "Um, I was being sarcastic." I whipped around and I could instantly tell she was talking to herself about me because she froze like a dear in the headlights. In short, don't go to this store unless you know exactly want you, and don't expect to get any help besides the cash register. I will NEVER go to this Lowe's again. Lowe's itself is a good place which I why I didn't give it one star, but the location deserves less than one star. If I was just rating on my experiences alone they'd get a 4 star review. The reason I'm knocking it down two stars is because my sister is in the process of having Lowe's install some fencing in her back yard and it's turning out to be a disaster between multiple delays that shouldn't have happened and also the very rude manner they've handled her complaints. It's a shame because some of their employees are really great to deal with but they obviously have some issues with work that they either do or subcontract out to other companies. My sister will be writing a review of her own on this company so I'll leave it to her to tell the specifics, but between her experience and the other review on here telling of his problems with a subcontractor I can't see myself ever hiring them to come to my home and do any work. I'd trust them to help me find supplies for a project I was working on I just wouldn't be able to trust them with doing the project itself based on the their history with my sister and the other reviewer here on Yelp. read more

I'm new to Holland and have found the Lowe's here disappointing. They always seem to be low or out of stock on many items. The cashiers are rude, there's always a long line during peak times due to only one or two registers open, and they do not provide equipment rentals. Disappointed. read more

Had a vinyl fence installed and clean up and haul away was included in the contract. That never happened and no one there will address the issue. Don't use them!!! They totally trashed our landscaping and left a real mess. read more

WORST.Experience.EVER!!!! Bought a refrigerator, took 2 weeks to get delivered after it arrived in store. After 21/2 weeks refrigerator compressor began making loud noise and running 24/7. Recorded noise, went to store, and.....NOTHING! No offer to replace refrigerator, and had to argue to get an "emergency" pick-up 10 days later. 2 phone calls to corporate, and suddenly the manager responsible for appliances could arrange a pick-up the next day. That's great, except she failed to put me on the truck route. Waited home from 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. Appliance manager says, "Oops, I'm sorry. They will pick up tomorrow between 8 and 12." They showed up at 1 p.m. Wasted my entire weekend waiting for pick-up! Other store manager offers monetary compensation; 1 1/2 weeks later I had not received it, called store manager who had made the promise. Got "the check is in the mail" message--appliance manager took care of it. 5 days later, nothing. Took call to district manager, then received a gift card. Do you think I want to spend any more money at the store? I will never buy anything from this Lowe's again! read more

The customer service here is outstanding!! We use to go to Mernards but wow what a difference. Sincerely a customer for life
