I just don't see how a large corporation like lowes can get away with not answering the phone... like ever! I went to Lowes because Home Depot was was wasting my time. I had most of the delivery on time no problem, but they didn't deliver it all and I couldn't get anyone on the phone to figure out where the rest was. Clearly, all home improvement box house locations are not the same. This particular Lowe's has very poor employee morale. Seems they hire people here with lower-than-normal drive. One may blame the hiring practices and expertise of the store's HR Manager and the approving Assistant Managers of each department. This location is understaffed because their sales are so "Lowe" . Finding expert service or a caring employee here feels like I am a dog chasing my tail. Employee/Management indifference has gone viral at this store. I chatted with the Store Manager the first year they were open. There were few customers in the store, especially for a Saturday afternoon. He said he blamed low sales to the lack of other stores yet to be built in shopping location (at that time). Now it seems he has little excuses. The shopping complex has exploded with new stores. In my travels around the country Lowe's averages about seven per cent higher in price (in general) than their competition (for same or similar items). I'm not saying they don't have occasional loss-leaders or special sales that one would want to jump on. However, some prices are ridiculously high and can exploit the ignorance of a shopper. For example, I just bought mums next door at "Market Basket" for $3.99. The identical size plant and pot was about $14 at this Lowe's. Adjacent customer to me at Market Basket said she was really given a hard time to get Lowe's to price-match the mums she just regretfully bought there, so she returned them. So much for their price-match guarantee? This seems to be at the whim of an Assistant Manager instead of a company guarantee. Attention Store Employees and Managers: Old retail saying: "Bad taste in mouth last longer than sweetness". I have talked to local high caliber trade construction workers and experts-in-their field that were turned down for a job they applied for there. All said there was some quirky bias or hidden agenda of the approving Assistant Manager for the Department they interviewed for. Perhaps they just want employees that will work for peanuts at this location. My Dad used to say, "You pay peanuts, You get monkeys". Like Father, Like Son: My retail management and small business ownership experience is that one $15-an-hour employee with drive will produce far more than two $7.50-an-hour employees. So the hiring practices seem to keep this Lowe's location from offering excellent customer service. This has resulted in a "hiding" and indifferent staff that seems to always be on some kind of break especially whenever you require knowledgeable assistance in a department. Feels more like a Walmart than a Lowe's. Shame on Management. If you like Lowe's, I recommend visiting the Lowe's in Westborough, MA until this one ever get's their act together. read more

I have been shopping here for about 4 years now, almost especially because of their garden department, but this place is a savior. After dealing with home depot all these years in Marlborough, MA, these guys saved the day. Its even better now that Market Basket is next door! The guys in the garden center couldn't be any more knowledgeable. They have great people working all over the store! Its always clean, customer focus seems to be at the for front with red vests everywhere always looking to help you out. The people in Lumber seem nice and ready to help you with your lumber loading. I just recently visited this lowe's since I am new to the area. I went to the paint section and a wonderful young man named Cam helped me. He helped me find the perfect paint colors and walked me through everything I needed. He walked me through the store helping me shelving blinds and any other items I needed. I am so glad he helped me since I am single and overwhelmed with putting together my new place. He is a wonder customer associate. Few weeks ago, bought 4 x 27 pound bags of Holly-Tone evergreen fertilizer at Costco in Danvers, Mass, for $13/bag or $52. Last week, while at Home Depot in Salem, NH, the Holy-Tone was $17/bag, of $68/4--wow! Rip-off. But wait, Few days ago I was in Lowes, Salem, NH. Holy-Tone 27 lb was $23/bag!! $92/4, almost double the Costco price. I've had experience over the years of Lowes overpricing---may explain why they're closing stores. read more

On May 21st, 2020, I purchased a brand new Kitchenaid dishwasher over the phone from the Hudson, MA store. It was supposed to be delivered the following week. There was an issue with the delivery where the dishwasher supposedly got lost and Lowe's could not find it. I reached out the executive relations team and they were able to work with the store to find the dishwasher. On June 27, 2020 at 12:42pm eastern time, Jeff Ratliff called me to apologize for the delay and offered me a goodwill gesture for this inconvenience. He didn't say whether it would be a gift card or something else, however, he told me to follow-up with him after the dishwasher was delivered and confirmed to be working. Offering credit made sense since it had been over 1 month since the order was supposed to be delivered. He also told me in the phone call to buy Lowe's stock which I thought was very odd. I followed up with Jeff and he claims he never offered me anything. This is very unprofessional. read more

Either understaffed or staff does not know how to prioritize. Waited twenty minutes at the paint desk seeking assistance for a product that was located at the top shelf due to having none of that product stocked at customer level. Then was told it would be another twenty minutes, as the current employee at the paint desk was not the one who could get it down for me. However, the nice young man who arrived seems to work in every department and do everything for the store from cutting lumber to retrieving higher shelf items. Jared, KEEP ON KEEPING ON! never buy from lowes I purchased a new six hundred dollar freezer that came to my house with so many scratches and dents in it they should be ashamed of themselves. when I called and complained they said they would take fifteen percent off the price. I needed a freezer because mine was full and it was dying. I cannot afford to send it back, what happened to the days when you bought a freezer and it was delivered in a box and unpacked in front of your door. this thing came in right from the truck with no covering at all and was totally filthy on top. what a disgrace this store is, never again! read more

My company's lead inspector bought $1,000 worth of tools for the new employees and part of the purchase included 3 Bosch drills. Well it turns out one of the drills was an impact driver (same price and similar packaging and in the same spot on the shelf). So he gave me the receipt and asked me to exchange it for the drill. Again, same price, even exchange. So I brought it to the Hudson location (the big purchase was made in Lowell) and went to the return counter. They told me to go get the one I wanted for the exchange. So when I returned, the employee named James assisted me with the exchange. I handed him the receipt and he punched a bunch of keys in and returned the first item but then asked for my ID and said I wasn't on the list for my company to get the drill in exchange for the impact driver. He brought another employee named Jason over and the two of them struggled with the register and told me I couldn't get the drill unless I wanted to pay for it out of my pocket. I told them I was here for a simple exchange for a same price item WITH the receipt and he said the money was already refunded for the wrong purchase but I wasn't allowed to purchase this item on the account because my name wasn't on it. I told him to forget it and I'd take the impact back and he said I couldn't do that either because the money for it was already returned. I told him to void the transaction and Jason said he couldn't. I have no idea how they could screw up a simple exchange but they did. Lowe's need to properly train their employees on how to work the register if they are going to have them work it. Not recommending Lowe's to anyone for sure. Home Depot here I come. read more

Bought a riding lawn mower. They said it will be delivered next Tuesday. Monday I get call, they cannot make Tuesday and have to do Wednesday. And, Tuesday they again call and say we can deliver Monday only. The reason was - the guy who assembles cannot do until Monday. Is this normal? read more

On august 4 2018 i bought a whirlpool dryer and we were told that delivery was going to be between 3 and 5 pm on august 5 2018. I have waited until 5pm and the delivery service they use did not contact me or show up at the time Lowes scheduled us. I decided to call the number they called me last night to schedule a time and was told at 5 30pm that they were running late and driver did not show up. I was given a new time of delivery of 6 and 8pm....so i waited and at 750 pm today i get a call from a driver or helper from a truck that a new time would be 9 to 11pm on sunday august 5. I decided to call lowes and demanded to talk to the manager named chuck and explain that i have wasted 5 hours of my life waiting for a delivery service that never showed up and telling me that there was a problem of a no show of a driver which i replied i pay good money for a dryer, delivery service and removal and i deserve a little bit of respect as a costumer or at least a phone call. Is this how Lowes works? is this the kind of service we get as hudson MA residents? this makes home depot look good, at least they call. Very unsatisfied customer right here in the same town you ask every year for permission to operate. read more

Nightmare. Never will order an appliance through Lowes again. Been without hot water for 9 days! Ordered a water heater on Labor Day after our old one broke over the weekend Signed a contract to have it installed and was told we'd get a call within 1 or 2 days On third day called store and was told they'd call back because they needed to look up our paperwork After waiting an hour called store back They had lost our paperwork and couldn't find an available contractor! They were very apologetic but said there was nothing they could do Canceled installation agreement and found contractor on our own Talked to delivery department on Friday and they promised to deliver on Sunday Sunday came and no water heater Called store and they said they put it through as a pickup! Now they say they'll deliver Monday Keeping fingers crossed Contractor will be here Tuesday morning. If heater doesn't arrive tomorrow will cancel order too! read more

Horrible experience!! Went into this Lowes after I bought my house thinking I would get a reasonable quote to redo my dated kitchen and 1st floor flooring. Nope!! after getting a 70K plus quote for cabinets, kitchen island, half bath, and 700 sq feet of hardwood floors sanded and stained, and 550 sq feet of tile removed and replaced with wood flooring, I said that it was too much. Normally i would move on but sense the home improvement specialist introduced me to the general contractor that they use i hit him up for a quote on just doing 750 sq feet of the floors. to make a long story short the general contractor gave his price to the lowes home improvement specialist so that she could relay the price through lowes since that was how we met in the first place and he didn't want to ruin his business with them. So i expected a little mark up from what other contractors quoted me for the same job but wasn't expecting the number she gave me!! the girl from Lowes gave me a quote of $8000.00 to sand and stain 700 sq feet of 2 3/4 wood floors and rip up 150 sq feet of tile and replace it with wood flooring to match. The price from the general contractor to the lowes specialist was $6000.00 still more than other contractors. Lowes was charging $2000.00 just to be a middle man. What rubbed me the wrong way was that the Lowes specialist is forbidding the general contractor to work with me independently despite the fact that I told her NO because of their price point in general. Bottom line Lowes marked up the quote by almost half of what the contractor was going to charge me and when I said NO they told the contractor that he couldn't work with me at all. As a military member BTW, I will be telling every Military community far and wide not to use Lowes EVER due to your poor business practices. Home Depot here we come. read more

Horrible...Ordered carpet through these guys in Mid November. They showed up in Mid December to finally install and brought the complete wrong color (while taking a vacation day to stay home for the install). Come to find out they put our carpet in someone else's house. Then it took them another month to re-order and install our carpet with no compensation or discount (after being told by the manager that we would be compensated). I will never use them again after this mess. read more

I had Lowe's come measure a room for new carpeting, a few days after the measure i received a call to go select the carpet, when I got to the flooring department Neil didn't seem too happy to see another customer. I asked Neil for the sq footage of the room and told him I'd select the carpet quickly. I turned my back to look at the different stain master options, and Neil disappeared! I pushed the assistance button and someone came, but it was someone from another department, that couldn't help me much. Come to find out, Neil went to lunch and wouldn't be back for an hour. Seriously? I had just spoken to him 2 seconds ago and he left me there...Thanks for the great customer service Lowes....NOT. I want my measure $35.00 fee back and I'll be finding someone else for all of my flooring needs. read more

I bought a new Samsung dishwasher less than a year ago. It broke down early January & TODAY they are finally trying to fix it. They were so uncooperative on the phone. They refused to believe I bought the dishwasher there! I supplied proof. That's almost 3 months to do a repair. A lot of dishwashing in meantime. I will never buy another major appliance from this store. It required me actually driving to store and speaking with the manager! Not that it did any good. First tech they sent out arrived at my house at 6:30 at night, after I was told to wait at home all day! Missed entire day of work & he DIDNT fix it! How frustrating!!! read more

We purchased a dryer from Lowe's last week. The delivery process of this dryer has been an absolute nightmare. First, Lowe's delivery people notified us they were coming to deliver it only15 before they arrived (they were supposed to call the day before with a 2 hour window), luckily we had taken the morning off. When they arrived that only had the plug and the vent and NO DRYER! Crazy, no one knew what was going on. I called the store and was told it would be on the truck the very next morning and would be at my house between 7:30 and 9. Again, NO DRYER. It has been a constant battle to get this dryer and I still do not have it. I am totally disgusted and would NEVER buy as much as a light bulb again from Lowe's. The aggravation and rudeness of some of the staff was incredibly aggravating. Although, there were two staff that would courteous and tried their best to help, unfortunately it was much later in the game after the damage was done. read more

COMPLETE waste of time- Don't bother they are not interested in customer service at all.I arrived at the Hudson store by 6:00 pm Monday to shop for floor tiles for 2 bathrooms I am renovating. I made it a point NOT to go on a weekend when the store would be slammed so I could obtain teh assistance I needed selecting tiles.This wasnt easy on a school nighty as I had to make arrangements for kids. I browsed the dept. for 25 minutes along with about 4 other customers/families and there was NO ONE staffing at all. I saw a few people just leave. The store was not very busy MOnday night overall, but the back of the store was Empty of any staff while the front had their hands in their pockets. I looked for a person to help me and found a man in a different dept who called for someone to assist me 3x at least. When no one came after another 10+ minutes I started calling the store from my cell phone. I got connected and tried to get to C/S but they hung up. After ONE HOUR alone and unattended I stopped at the service desk leaving the store and asked for the store manager, Jackie. I told Jackie that I felt totally de valued as a customer and offended that I had to beg for someone to help me for over an hour when somepone was paged and called and I had called; I explained to her that I came when the store would be less busy so I could get the help I needed for my project spec, and that the lack of service was outrageous. She offered a variety of excuses and half apologies for it all: someone called in sick, maybe the phones werent working etc and to make an appt for me to come back. WHY would I waste my time again! Why would I spend my time and money in a store that doesnt take customer service seriously? I am still annoyed that I went to time and effort to get there, 30 minutes from my home, and wasted the evening instead of moving my project forward. just about 2 and 1/2 years ago my wife and I bought a brand new wash & dryer machine from Lowe's....making a long story short, our unit needs repair, my wife and I have been in touch with lowe's for the last two weeks and the first two appointments were " no call no show" after trying several times my wife finally grabbed hold of someone which had no idea of what was going on... bottom line is, I have missed a days work for two weeks in a row as well as my wife and we still haven't had our machine fixed. extremely frustrating experience. my wife and I are very disappointed with the employees we came in contact with. they did absolutely " nothing" to assist us. I wanted to give this place negative stars, but you have to give something if you want your review to be taken seriously. I was in the process of moving into the area and wanted all new appliances. I spoke with Mike in the appliance department and was assured that at least one of the three items I ordered was immediately available so I should expect it soon. I shelled out just about $5000 for all my appliances and nearly a MONTH later I have NONE of them. Mike lied about what was in stock because apparently my refrigerator was a "special order" and was never in stock. Which I think is a load of bull and that they gave my order to someone else. I was called repeatedly by both the store and the delivery company (which, by the way, neither knows how to properly communicate with the other AND neither has access to the other's system) assuring me to expect deliveries that NEVER came. On days and times that people who work regular hours would NEVER be able to accommodate. If I had known it was going to be this much of a pain in the butt I would have shelled out the extra money and ordered it from Best Buy. read more

The service in this store Lowes in Hudson, MA it's the worse ever to go to. We usually go to this store for things for the house and we bought a house and they advised us to change the roof. So we looked around to the best price and who was more "reliable". Little did we know Lowe's WOULD BE THE LEAST RELIABLE. They basically sold us a VERY NICE PICTURE of what was going to be a DREAM ROOF. Basically it was going to be made out of GOLD so we fell for it. When they paint you that kind of picture you fall for it and being a first time homeowner we didn't know. That's why I want everyone to know that if you need a new roof DO NOT FOR ANY REASON GO TO THIS Lowe's because the people there have poor customer service. When they are trying to sell you the product it's all glitz and glamorous but in reality it's not what they say it's gonna my to be. They say if there is any problem call us we will help you in anyway possible and at anytime that's bull shit. But when we needed help solving a problem they were no where to be found. We called them numerous times nothing they answered when they wanted to answer. Now we have the roof leaking because of their poor service and they are saying the guarantee it's over so they "suggested we contact our insurance to fix the problem". When indeed it's their poor service that got us numerous leaks and what not happening in our roof. So they wash their hands with this problem meanwhile we are stuck with a leaky roof from the bad storm we had earlier this week. And not to mention if we call the insurance guess whose insurance will raise for no freaking reason? Our insurance will raise while it's not our fault nor our insurance fault and not even the storms fault it's all Lowes fault for not doing their job correctly in the first place. So again I tell everyone look for anywhere else to fix your roof or anything else you need that needs this type of service go to anywhere else BUT LOWES they really stink in customer service. They need more training on how to help customers because how they do business it's terrible. And their corporate offices they stink as well, they are the ones who suggesting we call our insurance.
