They don't always hve what I need when looking for obscure parts I can find at specialty hardware store, Ace or True Value. But for the regular stuff the prices are fair and the staff here always seem to be on the ball, hustling but not racing, they have time to help and they all seem happy to do so. Often many of them don't know anything about the how-to of things. Don't bother asking something like if this carrier bolt stronger than that one, which gague wire is right for a specifi project, or why a screw has a steeper twist and rotation. They don't seem to know. But they do want to help and they do know what they do have on hand most of the time. Occasionally we will come across someone who is passionate about the department they work in. I would give them four stars however they often mis the mark on services. Like having tiles installed, siding, or an applaince. The contractors are all subcontractors and not Lowe's employees. Sometimes this ties thier hands form doing a better job beacues they have to confomr to Lowe's rules. Other times the store struggles to get the dates right or offer services they don't even sell and you don't learn about it until no one shows up for a job and you have to chase them down. Purchased over $30,000 in kitchen cabinets and the person that designed them took a personal leave. No one was left to solve problems with design and order. Like the glass doors that came in without glass and then we found out our style of cabinets didn't even have glass doors that size, and that is just one example of many. Other people at Lowe's reluctantly took time out of their busy day to deal with the issues once we forced it. Not blaming the person that started the process, although they made mistakes and omitted information. I'm blaming the company for not having a system to follow through with my purchase. read more

So I went to my Lowe's in Springdale and bought a refrigerator for a duplex of mine. After paying for it and scheduling a delivery for it the guy says it's coming from this Lowe's location. It was supposed to be delivered Sunday of course my place was the last stop. Well I get a email saying they were unable to deliver my fridge so they pushed me back until Tuesday. So when I called back to see why I've been pushed back another 2 days all I got was they didn't know why it wasn't delivered on the date I asked for. I don't understand the logistics on bringing my appliance from 45 miles away when I had bought it from my local store. Just doesn't make since. So the next time I need any appliances I'll make sure that it's not coming from this store. read more

This is a review of the delivery service from Joplin, MO. There was no good faith effort to deliver, just a note quietly taped to my front door while I was 20 feet from the door. I didn't see them since my back was to the door but no one in my house heard them knock. The refund for the product was issued but was short the amount of the supposed delivery attempt and the charge to haul off the old refrigerator which definitely didn't happen either. Last Friday they were supposed to deliver a refirigerator I purchased in Springfield, MO. The associate in Springfield told me to expect a call on Thursday with a window of time for the delivery on Friday. That didn't happen. I called the delivery number on Friday morning and was informed the truck was making it's 2nd delivery of the day and that I was 9th so it would be a couple of hours before my delivery. I had been home all morning and I continued to stay home after receiving that message. About 4 hours later I received a message from DSI Logistics saying my Lowe's delivery was "currently delayed" and telling me the arrival would be between 2:00 and 6:00. I realized the weather hadn't been good so that may have slowed them, so I settled down in my livingroom to work at my computer which is about 20 feet from the front door in the same room. My dog also was settled by me and my husband was 2 rooms away in his office. I was not playing any music and the TV wasn't on. About 4:30 I received a call from the person who was going to install the refrigerator (not associated with Lowe's). I told them Lowe's hadn't arrived and I opened my door to see if they were in sight. There, taped to my front door, was a white slip of paper from Lowe's saying they were sorry they missed me. Hah! Since I was sitting in a quiet room right near the door to which they taped that message it's clear they didn't try. If they had tried my dog would have gone to check it out and I would have heard it. I know it was Friday afternoon and they had an hour drive back to Joplin and probably had a miserable day but they could have just called to let me know they needed to get back and, even though I'd been home all day waiting and preparing for them by putting my food in coolers on my deck where it was about freezing, I would have neen sympathetic. There was no good faith effort to deliver the refrigerator. When I called the delivery service number all I could get from the representatives was they could reschedule the delivery. I worked hard that day to be ready and I would have settled to reschedule the next day if it hadn't been for the lack of contact and pretending they tried to deliver the refrigerator. I have been a loyal customer of Lowe's since they opened some 25+ years ago. Today was the first time I didn't have my receipt for a $12 light fixture that had not been opened. You could even tell it had not been opened. The young man behind the counter said I could not return it. It had been purchased with store credit and yet they wouldn't even offer that to me. I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars a year at this Joplin store for nearly three decades. THOUSANDS!!! Lawn tractor's, week eaters, appliances, Jacuzzi Hot tubs, pools, countless tools and patio furniture. Literally thousands per year. I never go to the other 5 local stores. Today that changed. All over $12. I don't get mad, I just don't come back! So now I will seek out the other home stores. I'm SURE they will enjoy my money because I spend a lot of it. read more

Well, the poor guys did a delivery of a very large and heavy appliance. They had to carry everything by hand. No dolly or rolling cart. They said that Lowes no longer allows the delivery guys to use any hand trucks for their delivery guys in order to avoid denting the merchandise. ABSOLUTELY irresponsible and disrespectful company that does not value its customers or their time Missed their delivery/installation window of 12-4pm. No contact from them about anything and when i try to contact them all they'll tell me is that it was put on a truck this morning and they can provide no other information about when they might be coming to my house or if they'll even make it today. Seemed to have no interest in trying to help figure things out. Extremely unhelpful and customer service has a poor, lazy attitude Edit: several hours later and it's clearly not coming today but never was there any contact to attempt to communicate this with me. Just a silent no show. Calling the store they're only able to say that their deliveries are managed by a third party and they have absolutely no way whatsoever of contacting them or getting any information on it at all. Maybe someday hopefully I'll get my refrigerator delivered. Apparently not today. I do not recommend Lowes if you're getting a large appliance. They're not coordinated enough to pull it off. Edit 2: tracker just updated and apparently since they aren't responsible enough to deliver it between 12p and 4p on Friday they pushed it back to TUESDAY anywhere between 8a and 8p, during which i won't even be available for the delivery. I wasn't consulted or even notified of the reschedule, nor are they apparently going to give me any say because they blocked out the reschedule delivery button. Shoulda gone to Home Depot. read more

We needed a new hot water heater. We always shop LOWES in Carthage but they didn't have what we needed so my husband called Lowes in Joplin on Rangeline. He was quoted a price with 79$ delivery fee which was fine. We were told they couldn't take payment over the phone that we would have to come in. He was told that the paperwork was there everything was ready all we had to do is pay for it. I went in in the evening right before closing they had no paperwork at customer service. I was told the hot water heaters were in the back to go back there and ask them so I did the gentleman that helped me told me that at Shift change they may have deleted it so the next shift didn't get credit for the sale. Which makes no sense. He showed me the Hot water heaters. I told him what my husband was quoted plus the 79$ delivery fee. He told me that's impossible there is a 1000$ delivery fee. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! He said it would run me around 1700$. This guy lost them a sale. I was so upset. We went to Home Depot and was able to pay over the phone with 79$ delivery fee there were no issues. The next afternoon. A guy from Lowes called to see if we were still on for delivery. My husband told him what happened and we already had one. I believe the employee that I talk to worked in the appliance dept. he acted like we didn't know what we were talking about and there was no way they would deliver it for 79$. This place is a hit and miss with staff. Sometimes you will get someone super helpful and others you will get someone completely clueless and other times you will get the ones who try to avoid all the customers all together. We have been here a lot the past few weeks because we are remodeling our bathroom and I've noticed some items are not where they're supposed to be! If you look on their website it will give you an aisle number then a bay number which usually is easy to follow but sometimes they will have the item in stock but it's about 8 aisles down from where it's supposed to be. Just annoying more than anything. If you know what you're doing and what you need then this place is nice to find what you need but if you have no idea and are expecting staff to help you then either go somewhere else or hope that the go-to guy is working! read more

We have purchased several items from Lowes and been satisfied. Sales associates are usually attentive. There has been one instance when I could not find someone to help. The lawn mower we purchased worked well as did the weed eater. The grill we purchased was not as high quality as we expected. In addition the replacement parts were difficult to find. Asked for a Veteran's discount and was informed that I had to be registered on their website to receive it, even tho Home Depot gives them with only proof of your service. They want you to register so they can flood your inbox with emails and send notices by phone. And I don't need another password to remember. I just think this is a sad situation. We've had considerable issues. We bought a washer and dryer, and when we requested a repair be made, in accordance with the warranty, the store "lost" all record of our purchase. The Springfield store finally helped us (although we purchased the W/D in Joplin). We tried once more, and bought 2 refrigerators, a wine chiller, and a dish washer. The salesman was rude, but we ignored it. The installers appeared without our second refrigerator! They claimed that, although we "bought" one, the store sold it before it could be delivered. Apparently, this is an issue. Don't purchase appliances here. read more
