On my way to a work trip I realized I forgot some important items that would aide in my duties. I needed these so that I could start my duties at the beginning of the week and finish my duties at the end of the week. In all honesty, I only realized I was missing these items as I got nearer to my destination. This Lowe's was the first thing I saw and decided it was my best option. Pulling into the parking lot was a bit confusing since this sits on a busy intersection corner, but I was able to figure it out enough to find a parking spot. Once inside it was a bit of confusion as well. I knew what I needed, but each item was in a different area where I though it would be. I had to do some searching, but in the end I was able to find what I need with no assistance from any of the staff. Self checkout at the front made for a quick exit and I did not need a bag. It was a decent visit, even if it was not the easiest visit. Getting back on the road from here, not the easiest either, but not something you can avoid. read more

We recently over into a new house and purchased a garage door opener from Lowes Lowe's we paid for the installation service through Lowes called Handy Technologies. Obviously Lowes did a poor job of vetting them. They rescheduled twice and today they clearly cancelled out in us saying they don't have a pro in our area to do the installation. They said they would refund the $$$ but that doesn't do any good if I don't get the thing installed. I al putting out the word - buyer BEWARE. We have positive experiences with Lowes in California, where we moved from. We won't be attempting to use their handyman service again. read more

I spent a great deal of time and multiple visits to Lowes in Lewes. All for getting our summer house prepared for the summer rentals. I was impressed by the consistent excellent customer service. Dee was my savior when purchasing some lawn chairs as she and her team assisted me in getting them to and then into my SUV. I decreed a 3 star because of the lack of response to my request for assistance whilst replacing five 20+ year old smoke alarms. On the positive side (which I always prefer to do), Lowe's are set up pretty much the same among numerous locations across many states. The garden section in the Lewes Lowes had a far greater selection than does the one nearest my Gettysburg address ( I use that whenever I can) I heard and saw many birds flitting around and wondered 1. how they got inside, 2 how and whether there would get out, 3 whether they'd defecate on my balding head. Getting back to my smoke detector saga: the alarms in our Rehoboth condo are hard-wired, however our antediluvian units were discolored and unattractive in appearance, thus replacements were in order. I struggled to find a modern replacement for the elderly units, one of which I brought in. After struggling for about 15 minutes I asked an associate who was guarding the checkout aisles if he would kindly summon the cavalry for me. He unleashed his walkie talkie device from his utility belt and announced that a customer in aisle 7 was in need of help. I waited patiently and continued to try to figure things out all by myself, suffering in silence. After about 15 minutes the aisle guard must have picked up on my distressed visage and asked the obvious "Nobody's come yet?" to which I nodded in the affirmative, eyes dropping from my failure. He continued to guard the aisle for another 5 minutes, and then disappeared, never to be seen again. I had no assistance in aisle 7 despite what seemed to me to be an abundance of sales associates, seni-hurriedly going to presumably help other befuddled customers I ended up purchasing 5 new units with the hope that they'll function as useful replacements. If not, I'll need to exchange them and my saga will be continued below. read more

Terrible customer service at Lowe's in Lewes, Delaware. I tried to return an item I purchased online with a gift card, and they gave me store credit instead of putting it back on a gift card. Since the item I wanted was only available online, I asked for the store credit to be transferred to a gift card, and they refused. I called corporate, and they told me I should be able to receive the value in cash. When I returned to the store, they still refused. The staff was unpleasant and unfriendly throughout the whole experience. Just a horrible experience overall. read more

We purchased a Frigidaire Gallery refrigerator from Lowe's (in Ocean City) the end of July 2024. Two days after purchase, the refrigerator stopped working. We contacted Lowe's and they told us that we are not entitled to return the item after 48 hours and that they do not have an "in house" repair service. They gave the telephone number of a third party repair company called At Your Service. It took "At Your Service" close to 3 months to finally repair our refrigerator. For three months we had to refrigerate our food in a large Coleman Cooler. Lowe's offered us zero assistance and zero compensation for our inconvenience. They are, in my opinion, a very sleazy company as is evidenced by their terribly low satisfaction rating. Buy at your own risk. read more

I went into store and after standing at service desk for several minutes, the woman working there finally asked me what I wanted. I told her, showed.her the order number and the credit xard my partner used and she refused to give it to me. Asked for store manager who fave me the order but the woman at the desk was rude and I told her I was going to complain to corporate abd she and the rest of the people working there just laughed in my face. Ordered a garage door opener from Lowe's. They said they would install. I set up an appointment and waited all day. No show and no call. Rescheduled for the next week. No show and no call. Cancelled the order and found my own installer who actually showed up. Ordered a dishwasher on sale with installation. The sales person entered a wrong digit on the model number and the wrong dishwasher was sent. I refused it and they re-ordered the right model. Waited another two weeks, no call for installation. I called the installer who said they have the dishwasher but have not yet put me on their installation schedule. I must now wait another week hoping they will show up. In the future I will be replacing my stove and refrigerator and will definitely not even consider purchasing them from Lowe's. Worst Lowe's I've ever dealt with. read more

It's one thing after another, and I'm done with them. No carts or flats available. Overflowing trash cans. Dirty merchandise thr0oughout the store. Dozens of baskets of return merchandise blocking access to merchandise for sale. Wilting and dead plants that obviously haven't seen water in days. Entire sections so out of order and untended that they looked like a riot had occurred. Then today: "Sorry, we can only cut Levelor blinds, not Allen and Roth." I've tried to cut the Sussex County store a break because I know it's hard to hire staff here, but so much of what I see wrong is just uncaring, unaware management. A feather dustere and a daily store walk would solve most of these issues. Shopping at Lowes is an unpeasant experience and the reason we shop increasingly online. I spend upwards of $10,000 a year on home and garden merchandise. I won't be returning. read more

We needed wire cut. An associate was called twice and no one came. After over 30 minutes of waiting and a line forming we asked if we could just cut it ourselves so we could get what we needed and go. They said an associate needed to cut for us... ok then send someone this is ridiculous. Their customers service is terrible. Cutting wire requires zero skill. Lewes Lowes Rocks! I had a bad experience with the Millsboro Lowes last month. (See my slightly salty review for details) I wanted to buy a dishwasher over the phone to have installed in our Coastal Cottage in Ocean View, DE and though Millsboro was closer, the Lewes store .....wait for it. Answered the phone! I want to give you money, please take my money, I want to buy a dishwasher - just answer your phone! Well, Lewes Lowes came through! I bought the KitchenAid dishwasher (the only one that has controls on the front) and it was installed by All American Electric out of Greenwood, DE. They did a super job and everything went smoothly and I even saved $200 bucks through the 4th of July sale! Lewes Lowes also cheerfully refunded me for 2 peripheral items that were not needed, after all, in the install. Thanks, Lewes Lowes, you beat your Millsboro sister store in customer service and by mostly, answering your phone! read more

Worse customer service ever!!!! No one ever answers the phone and the manager on duty is always busy!!! I have been put on hold for hours and NO one ever answers the phone. Worse decision I have ever made was to try to buy shades for my home! When you go into the store and to the home decor department, no one is ever there and when you call they never answer the phone. When someone else answers the phone you are put on hold and then no one answers the phone. If I could give it 0 stars I would. We shop various locations for this store weekly. We live between 3 all with in the same amount of drive time. We decided to hit the location in Lewes today despite our previous visits. I'll only focus on this horrible visit. As a Lowe's card holder when ever we use our store credit card we save 5%. On big purchases that makes an incredible difference. Anyway, we stopped in to buy carpet for the guest bedroom we are redoing. After standing in the aisle for carpet for roughly 10 min ( this was after hitting the call associate button) no one came. We finally tracked a girl down who was incredibly rude and had her name tag turned. She walked over to the flooring desk. So we asked if she could tell us if they had a particular carpet in stock. Her reply "I can tell you, but it doesn't matter if we have it in stock, I can't cut it" we were dumbfounded... she then after seeing the look of disgust on my face said further "our machine is broken" No sorry for the inconvenience, no offer to help resolve the problem. No offer to get someone that could answer the questions. This happened with our pergo flooring also. This was months ago but...the associate was very very rude and we drove the 1/4 mile further and bought flooring at Home Depot. Worst Lowes I have ever shopped in. I had a heat gun go out, I tried to call to make sure I could return it, but I kept getting put on hold, for over 20 minutes and eventually just hung up on. So I took my chances and drove down to the store. Customer Service lady (Tina) was very nice, but when she need an manager approval it took them forever to get to customer service to help, I understand they may be busy at times but when they call for a manager and you can see him continually stopping and joking with employees on his casual stroll to customer service it's extremely frustrating. There was supposed to be several of the heat guns in stock, but none were on the shelf. I tried to find someone to help but was told no one was working in the paint department where the heat guns were stocked, went back to customer service to see if they could get someone, and they called for the manager again. I went back to paint to wait, after about half an hour I saw the same manager standing at the far side of the store laughing and joking again, finally just left and went to Ace Hardware - got what I needed and was headed home in less than 10 minutes. Ridiculous I wasted an entire morning replacing a tool on warranty. read more

Latest update in what seems to be a never-ending circle of frustration with the Lowes store in Lewes, DE. After a second botched delivery of our garage freezer, we went back to the store and asked for a refund. The customer service person gave us a receipt that showed a refund, but as of 2 weeks later, it has NOT posted to our credit card. We then went down to the nearby Home Depot store to order the same refrigerator. The price was slightly lower and the delivery went off without a single hitch. Moral of the story........buy your appliance from ANYONE except Lowes. read more

My family has shopped at this Lowe's for several years. It's had it's up and downs as all businesses do, but we've never been disappointed in their products or service, as some other reviewers have been. However, it appears there are homeless people living on the property. We asked an employee if this was, in fact, the case. The answer was yes and they've been there for months! This place by far is the WORST Home improvement store I've ever patronized! I bought a LG refrigerator and a GE stove. The refrigerator/freezer didn't come with an ice machine so you have to order and pay for one separately which I did. It was supposed to arrive on June 5th and here it is June 29th and nothing. I called for the last 3 days and their "customer service " (joke) answers and hangs up then it rings again and someone picks up and hangs up. We spent $2k on a new washer and dryer. Paid $170 for installation. The appliances were delivered on 1/16/2023, 2 weeks after they were ordered. THEN we were told that the delivery company could not hook up the dryer. Now we have to wait 2 more weeks for that. I will never shop at Lowes again and I would not recommend it to anyone. read more

I came over to cancel an order, and you would've thought I was ruining the persons day. She was outright actually rude. After several months, a tube of a special order color of caulk finally came in ($7). Went to pick it up and it took 25 minutes to locate it. When the cashier in pick up could not charge the order on the credit used on line to order because it had expired, she did not know how to proceed-- just paced around. No one knew how to ring up the order-- I could not pay in cash or new credit card. No one could find a manager to help them. I watched over 20 persons be assisted while I stood there waiting for someone /anyone to take the bull by the horns and get a manager to help them. 1 hour later Trudy was able to get help. Home Depot is next door. That's where I will go from now on. read more

Signing that states on their water heaters: 'Same day delivery on water heaters' .... 'Call before noon'.....signing is completely erroneous! Representatives state you will get a call in 30 minutes that never happens. After 3 hours I called again, and representative states you will get a call this afternoon, but delivery will not be until tomorrow....call never comes. The blame is always on the companies they 'farm' out the business to. We spent over $2,000 for flooring last year, over $1,000 in appliances and were planning to get an estimate for a quartz or granite countertop this year. Terrible experience purchasing a washer dryer. I don't recommend buying anything at this Lowes that's not in stock. Wait, even if they tell you it's in stock it might not be. So I don't recommend buying anything you can't walk out of the store with. Once you make the purchase, no one is in charge, no one takes responsibility for problems and no one apologizes for anything. One hand doesn't know what the other is doing. The first time my washer dryer was scheduled for delivery I called and actually reached a human who confirmed they would arrive as scheduled. I drove six hours round trip to be at the house only to have them cancel. I will say that at least someone at Lowes Lewes called to let me know. But at the time of delivery was too late!!! It can be nearly impossible to reach them on the phone in any department - appliances, delivery, you name it, they aren't necessarily answering. The phone rang so long on multiple occasions that it disconnected me. I called so often that I memorized the different department numbers. Who needs that? The second time my delivery was scheduled, they cancelled again after confirming the day before. The delivery service Lowes uses will call you to confirm BUT they are not part of the store. They actually have no idea if the merchandise will be there to deliver. They just know you're on their delivery list. If they arrive at the store and there's no merchandise, then tough for you! The people in the store say they can't say what's in stock because maybe it will come in on a truck that night or the next morning. The third scheduled delivery date I called the night before and made the woman who answered look to make sure the W/D was already there. At this point I didn't believe a word any of them said but yes, finally it got delivered. Covid is messing up the availability of appliances but there is no excuse for jerking around a customer like this or for taking their money six weeks before you deliver. Ridiculous. So much wasted time and it was completely unnecessary. This was hands down the worst retail experience I've had in years. Go elsewhere! read more

I bought a shower door from Lowes. It was promised 8/16/20 After several additional weeks with no information I tracked down the manufacturer. Overnight they conducted an investigation and this is their response. Hello Steve, The carrier R&L went to deliver this to the Lowes store and the store refused this shipment on 8/18/2020. The store did this because they wanted to unload a truck that came after them first. This was shipped back to us and we sent a credit to the store. If you want to order this again, you would need to do this through a dealer such as Lowes, Home Depot, Ferguson, Amazon, Wayfair which are a few that sell our product. Please let us know if you have any other questions. I hope everyone will consider this when shopping for any major purchase from Lowe's Plantation Road, Lewes DE . We had a similar problem with a second refrigerator purchase several months ago, when the item did not show up the day of scheduled home delivery. Now we know why. We cancelled that order and purchased from local merchant Millman's Appliances for the same price. It was delivered when promised and installed quickly, safely and efficiently. read more

Tried talking to Deborah Grub who put it all together and she told me that she would reorder, which she did, but they will not come out to install!! I got frustrated. How am I to install myself she told me" with a screw driver " really 17,000 later!! Then I spoke with John Bazzurro, Deborahs manager. He told me he would get back to me twice (never did) I called him and he told me I berated him and that was just not true and his excuse for passing the buck! Terrible service when buying washer and dryer, arranging for delivery and on day of delivery. Call the store and see how long it takes for someone to pick up the phone. That will give you an idea of what their responsiveness to customers is like. I called multiple times and got put on hold. When someone did answer, they did not help me, they transferred me to another extension and then the call got cut off. This happened 2 times yesterday and 3 times today. The delivery service was supposed to deliver between 8 and 12. They came at 4. They were supposed to call me 30 minutes before coming. They did not call me at all. I called the delivery service XPO about 20 times and never got a live person on the line. The only good thing is the delivery guys were nice and did a good job. I will never buy from this Lowe's again- I will pay more somewhere else. read more

Unfortunately, given the Covid-19 situation, Local appliance stores cannot open their doors for customers to "see" appliances in person. I was one of those customers who elected to go to a Lowes to see what I wanted and fell into reasoning that it would just be "easier" to make my purchase there and then. As usual, big box stores are NOT about customer service after the sale. My refrigerators was suppose to be delivered today. The delivery company, contracted by Lowe's called and told us the refrigerator would be left "at the front door" and that the old one, which I paid to have removed, would "not be picked up as there personnel are not going into homes". While I understand the concern, no one at Lowes said anything about this! I called the store and was told I would have to do whatever the delivery company told me to do and when I asked to speak to a manager, the employee transferred me and I remained on hold only to be told the manager wasn't available, "he was probably busy on another call". At this point I elected to go into the store and spoke to a an employee who got the "manager" on the phone who screamed at the employee so loudly I could hear him from more than 10 feet away. He said the same thing, that I would have to deal with the delivery company as the store has "no control over their procedures". Really... I purchased the appliance though Lowes, not from a delivery company! There was absolutely NO customer service! No attempt to help, no attempt to mediate the situation. Suffice it to say, I immediately cancelled my order and called Henlopen Appliance, not even knowing if they had, or could get the appliance we chose. After explaining the situation to Amy, the owner, I purchased the same refrigerator, for $50.00 less, with no charge for delivery and no charge to remove my old appliance. Further, since they make their own deliveries, she assured me the new refrigerator would be installed, water line and all and the old one would be removed same day. Further, she indicated that they would make every attempt to deliver the same day the appliance arrives at there location! Speaking directly with the owner makes one appreciate the fact that small businesses still exist and despite the competition from biz box stores like Lowes, they can be competitive and provide far greater customer service. Thank you Amy and thank you Henlopen Appliance. During these difficult times, we all need to support local businesses or we may be left at the mercy of uncaring big box stores. I ordered a $3000+ refrigerator and we agreed to a delivery date. I waited for it to arrive and then got a text that they were at my house and I did not answer the door. They said they would wait 15 minutes. I immediately went outside and no one was there... Nor had anyone ever knocked according to my door cam. Went to Lowes (because no on answers the phone) and scheduled for Friday. No one came, went to Lowe's again rescheduled for the next day and they did not come again. Email to me confirmed order. 3 days later I arrive to discover they only had one, and it was damaged. This really means they have ZERO! I wonder why no one checked my order to verify and stage for my pick up. Caution to customers, no guarantee when ordering online. This could really wreck a construction schedule.
