I truly want to thank and commend appliance sales representative David Lee on 1/4/25 for such a wonderful buying experience. My family has been in need of a new electric dryer since late summer early fall and have been taking the wet loads to the laundry mat to dry them, so long overdue to make this purchase. David was knowledgeable, attentive to our need and budget, he was not pushy and hurried let us take our time in what we wanted. David Lee arranged for the delivery the following day which we have received the Whirlpool dryer and are thrilled with it, and also the delivery men they called to let me know they were on the way to our home, it did not take them no time to disconnect the old dryer and install the new one and took the old dryer away. Worst customer service EVER. The Mechanicsville manager is rude & a liar. I bought 2 large appliances & a week later they were advertised for a lower price. When I went to the store for the price guarantee THAT IS ON THE LOWES WEBSITE he said they don't do that anymore. When I showed it to him on their website he got mad & said they stopped doing that and if I had a problem with that to call corporate. Don't order anything for delivery by Lowes. They are going to send you the worst crap they have on their shelves. I just received a pallet of 20 bags of cypress mulch -- every last one covered in some oily/grainy substance that comes off on your hands and clothes. Of the bags of river rock I ordered, 20% were busted and only partially filled. When I called the store to complain and asked them to come get this dripping/oily/busted crap out of my driveway and refund my money, the customer service rep gave me a load of attitude that it must have happened during delivery. The pallets were WRAPPED in plastic and the bags had foot prints across the top, for God's sake. I'm never shopping there again after spending thousands this calendar year alone. I've had good luck with in store purchases but their online orders need some help. Ordered a tool, only 1 small item, at 6:39 am. 9 of them in stock. Supposed to be ready for pick up in 3 hours. Had someone try to pick it up around 1 o'clock and it was not available here it is almost 3 o'clock and it's still not available. Sounds like a small issue, but if you offer a service, at least be close to what you say you can will do. I'd rather shop local. But how can I continue to do this when Amazon can have it to my doorstep within 24 hours? They'll need to step it up if they want to keep people's business. Do not count on this store if you are trying to run a business. They definitely need a change in management, training or either this is the best their recruitment can find for employees in the area. read more

Back in April I paid for $6,000 worth of interior doors. It's now June and do I have all my doors? No. After calling me and telling my doors are in, they gave two of them to another customer. No one answers the phone so I went there to straighten it out. Thought I was good but nope. The installers showed up on May 31sr and were missing five doors. Also installed the wrong door on one of the closets. Again, I called them but no one answers the phone. Someone called me and said that I never paid for two of the doors. So at that time I paid for the doors on my Lowe's card over the phone. I've been in twice because again, no one answers the phone. They had to order the two doors. That's what's holding everything up at this point. Why didn't they order the two doors on April 21 when they knew they gave mine to someone else? So I'm waiting for those two doors. My other four doors are in the store but after this fiasco, do I trust them not to give them to another customer? They already have their money so I guess they don't care if they drag it out for six months. I'm tired of spending time during my work day to straighten this out. Normal poor customer service at Mechanicsville Virginia Lowe's. We stopped in yesterday evening for some 4x4x6 pressure treated wood. The web site showed many in stock. They were in stock, bit located on high racks (needing a fork lift to access). We asked for help twice, and were told that there were no workers in lumber, do the manager would assist us. But, we would have to wait 20+ minutes for him to finish eating. We left and purchased from Home Depot with no issues. read more

Don't order from the Mechanicsville VA location. I ordered an oven on Black Friday for delivery in December. I called the day before to confirm the delivery, and everything was good. On the day of delivery the oven never came, and I called customer service. They hung up on me the first time and when I called back they let the phone ring for over 10 minutes. Once I got a hold of them they told me that the delivery was delayed 3 months, which I was never notified of. The customer service *manager* got an attitude when I asked why it was delayed, and gave no answer except that it's not her fault. Ultimately I cancelled the order, lost the Black Friday savings, and will go without an oven until I can find a replacement. The manager offered no remedy and was happy to cancel the order to end the phone call. I really couldn't say more about the poor service, attitude, and unwillingness to help in any way. read more

A very big "Thank you" to Derrick and his team at Lowe's in Mechanicsville for their help with my son's Eagle Scout project. Part of the requirement for the Scout is that they fundraise or solicit donations to cover the cost of the materials. We originally went to Home Depot, who said they were happy to help but then ghosted us for three weeks. We went to Lowe's and they acted immediately, giving us a discount up front, and then even a little extra at checkout. Andre at the register was a big help getting in and quickly, and Lee and Alan in the lumber area were on the ball getting our materials cut down for transport. These guys have my loyalty from now on. I was surprised to see the reviews so low, but definitely understandable if the store isn't meeting your needs. My experience with Lowe's each time I've gone has been fairly positive. I normally can find what I am looking for or I'll ask. The store is kept neat, prices are fair, and the location is ideal. It's always nice to be greeted when you enter a store and I will say they lack that or at least today they did. Lowes has some serious issues with staffing. It seems that you have to search the store for someone to help! I think they really need to cross-train the employees so that they have some experience in multitude departments. The installation team for Lowe's used to be in house at the store. But now, you have to call Lowe's regarding installation with a number that is out of state! Simply ridiculous. And if you get a new person then you are out of luck! I've been to this store many, many and the service has been fine. But, I recently purchased a dishwasher (9/4) and it has been a scheduling nightmare for the installation! Everyone is "nice" when I visit the store to inquire, there have been promises to "work it out", "make a call", and even installers lying about the scheduled date. Bought 3 major appliances. WAs lied to twice about promised delivery dates.of washer and dryer. Waited patiently almost two weeks after my cash purchase for the third appliance ( dishwasher) to be installed. On day of installation I had to call to check why they weren't at my home an hour after appointment. Was lied to again. They stated that someone called and canceled the install. If I could give negative stars I would. Ordered a new washer that was in stock on a Tuesday 7-10-18. They advised they could not deliver until the following Monday 7-16-18, didn't really understand why since it was in stock but ok I could deal with that. They stated they would call Sunday in the afternoon to set up a delivery time, ok sounded great. Sunday afternoon came and went. We called Lowe's, spoke to a manager, and were told they would call in the morning, oh and they had the incorrect address so that was corrected at the time of the call. I took off work Monday to make sure I could be there for delivery. Guess who we never heard from? Again WE made contact with Lowe's, spoke to a manager, who stated we could expect delivery from 1600-1900. Wasted a whole day but ok I would finally be able to wash sometime Monday night. Yet again guess who never called? Again we made contact with Lowe's, spoke to a manager, who advised it was a problem with a delivery company. He explained they have a lot of problems with the delivery company and even he had to pick up his own refrigerator. Ummmm last time I checked if someone or some agency is not performing their job correctly, you get rid of them! We then were advised the washer would be delivered Tuesday 7-17-18 in the morning prior to 1000. At this point in the saga you can guess who we DID NOT hear from. We called just prior to 1030 and again were advised it was a problem with delivery company. Again I advised them I didn't really care and didn't understand why it was so difficult for them to return phone calls. We then advised the manager to either knock 50% off of the washer price or cancel the order. He says ok let me call you back. Imagine my surprise when a delivery truck rolls up to my residence to deliver my washer. Must be 50% off since we never heard back from him and instructed him to cancel the order otherwise. Yet again we call and ask to speak to a manager but low and behold he's not available currently and is in a meeting. We explained to the person who answered they were losing a sale and to cancel the order if the manager could not be bothered to even speak. I sincerely hope his meeting was either a termination meeting or about how to properly care for customers. Had the company just been honest and didn't try to blame others there may have been a way to salvage this whole thing. If you can't deliver on a certain day, just say so. If you cant or don't want to call a customer back, don't say you will. Don't blame outside agencies for your failures! *Please note I did not take out any of my frustrations on the delivery guys, they were awesome, and totally understood where we were coming from. I went in with measurements for an over the range microwave hood and explained in detail the tile above the range that may be an issue.... Chris assured me in 2 different days that it would work... so I buy it and pay to have an outlet put in because there isn't one. Well, my electrician says it can't go there because if the tile and I now have a $250+ outlet I don't need and no microwave. I call to complain and another gentleman in the appliance department was so co concerned about making sure i didn't blame him that customer service went right out the window. Kept saying he didn't know what I wanted them to do. Finally asked to have one of their installers come and look at it.... he said fine they would call to schedule what time worked for them. That was Wednesday.... I have not heard anything..... Home Depot is looking better and better. I have an outlet I don't need and a microwave that I don't know can or cannot be installed. I purchased two appliances from Lowes. One was a dishwasher that I purchased installation on one. I requested the two deliveries be coordinated and was told that was not a problem. Since then i have been trying to get them delivered, even separately, for a week. The store tells me now that i have made the purchase that they have no control over delivery. When i complain to delivery they send me to the store manager. It's a vicious circle with no one taking accountability for the Lowe's experience. i have no desire to purchase there again and i need more appliances. Worst service ever! We used the garden center cashier to checkout and she held up our transaction for a manager's approval. She left us standing there and went to open a new register to ring customers while she waited. After several minutes we asked her to call again for a manager, and again several minutes later. After more than ten minutes I walked into the store to find the manager milling about asking customers if she could help them while several of her clerks also milled about in the same immediate area of the check out. I told her we had been waiting for her for more than 10 minutes so we could complete our transaction. She said she knew and was going that way. I followed her out and she approved our transaction. When my husband asked the clerk if he had indeed gotten the discount he had been waiting for the clerk said it should show up on the receipt and to go ahead and approve the transaction. My husband asked her to verify the discount first. She gave some off handed don't really care answers to his question about the itemized list basically saying he had to wait for the receipt to see what he was signing for. Needless to say by this point we had had about enough and my husband told her that the service was better at Home Depot. Some other garden center employee, identified as RICK, who had been doing his best to ignore every thing finally decided the come over and get lippy with us. Saying that they did not allow us to see the itemized purchases until we got a print out and that was how they did business and to stop giving his employee a hard time. What he didn't know was that the cashier had already shown my husband the computer screen so he could verify and Rick's smart-alecky behavior was uncalled for. As we were leaving Rick shouted in front of all the customers that he hoped we didn't get run over in the parking lot. Nice, real professional behavior from Rick, the cashier and the slow as molasses Manager. Sorry Lowes you have seen the last of my business! read more
