I tend to like Lowe's better than home depot when it comes to home decoration. But the Milford store is not as nicely decorated as the Norwalk store. I usually have luck finding staff to assist me with finding items which is a plus because I don't always need the steps for exercise. I mostly go here for mulch in the spring. The staff packs it into my car for me which is a great help. I find that it make sense to check an item online before venturing out to make sure that they have it and that it is a better price than competitors. read more

Just tried to call several stores in the area to check on their stock of road salt supplies. I called three other stores including the bargain store, Ocean State Job Lots. All three stores had an option to speak with a service representative. Lowe's was the only one that I called that had an AI-only response option and the response was very poor. It specifically mentioned that it could report on in-stock items. Then when I asked about salt, it said that it was unable to find the information. There was also no option to speak to a representative that could provide that information. After many poor experience, I can safely say that Lowes customer service is literally the worst out of all the big box stores. Very disappointing to see them go all in on AI. They need to get their act together or they will be going out of business soon. read more

Lowe's and Kitchenaide were recommended to us by our plumber when we asked him about dishwashers. Our experience was disappointing in the extreme, from having to wait just shy of a half hour to talk to a sales associate to learning that there were no Kitchenaide dishwashers in the basic color (black) we needed. What's more, we couldn't even order one from Lowe's. WOW! We never got to value because there was poor service and limited selection. What a shame. read more

Service is always terrible here. Went in today to buy a few things and look at carpet and possibly set up a measurement...etc. At 10:30 am there was no one in the carpet department. There was someone moving tile around in the area and he told me that there was no one there and didn't think someone was coming until 1pm!Went to Home Depot and spent my money. We decided to replace our front door to our home. so, I called Lowes and spoke with Robert in the door department he tell me we need to come in and pick out our door first, and then they would call us to schedule appt, to come out and measure our front door, I questioned that process. I thought it was backward, but you have to trust the people these stores hire that they know their Job, I lived off of Whalley Ave in New Haven Ct, for our 10 years did not know there was a Lowes in Milford Ct. So that speaks volume. So, we were curious to know where in Milford but we could have went to Derby Lowes / Wallingford Lowes or the new Lowes in New Haven, No How stupid of us we went to Lowes in Milford Ct. we went on a June 17th Wednesday night not one person in the whole store that was able to help us purchase a door Wow!!! we spoke with a manager name Lino he was ok so we thought he took care of by taking our information he said someone would reach out within 48 hours to setup an appointment time By Saturday the 20th and no feedback I tried to give them another chance, I called the store and spoke with Manager Melissa she tried to help but she was just put in the middle of a mess!!! Never again. Ordered a cook top that was delayed multiple times, finally get it over a month later and it was broken. First they started to give me the runaround because they have an ridiculous policy that they never disclosed when I made the purchase that they have a 48hr return policy. Hello there are electricians and plumbers that need to do work before we even know if it works properly. Who ever came up with this policy should be working in a fast food drive thru. Then when they did refund me they screwed me out of the delivery fee so I got stuck paying for delivery on damaged merchandise they sold me. I am done with Lowes. This Lowe's is quite different from the others I have been to in the area. The shelves were well stocked, and the store is fairly organized. As is currently the trend with many retail operations, it was difficult to find assistance. The staff in the front of the store was helpful during checkout. It would've been nice to also have assistance available in the back of the store as well. read more

Poor customer service here. Went to buy a new back pack blower which was up on a high shelf. Asked an employee to pull one down and as he got a fork lift, he stopped to help every customer besides us and made us wait 15 minutes until he finally came and got the unit. Had a manager come over and all he did was ask if we got it. The only registers open were the self-serve and only three were working. Store is VERY dirty inside and out. Just purchased a wheelbarrow and had to be unlocked (I totally understand). The employee "Will"was paged three times no-show. After about 20 minutes I headed to customer service and I walked by the grills (outside) only to see an employee sitting on the ground - on his phone - hiding among the grills. I asked him if he had the keys to the wheelbarrels he said no, just the grills. I proceed to customer service and found someone to get the "wheelbarrow keys".. Turns out the kid "hiding" in the grills did have the keys!! I couldn't believe it. He was hiding among the grills, ignoring the 3 speaker pages, on his cell phone. Wasting my time. This Lowe's Home Improvement offered me the LOWEST value of home improvement I've received. I called the night before I came in to ask if their glass cutter was working and they said yes. The next morning, I get here and can't find anyone who will to help me. Employees are sparse and unwilling. When I was finally able to hunt someone down, they bring me to the glass cutter and show me a scribbled note on tape that says the glass cutter has been broken since 1/7. I couldn't even take the glass on my own because it's behind the blocked off bench. read more

I ordered 27 drawer pulls online for delivery. When the order arrived, 26 were the correct items - one was not. When I called customer service to ask that I get a corrected pull sent out, I was told that I needed to return the wrong one to a Lowes physical store before they could correct the order. As I couldn't believe what I was hearing, I asked to speak to the customer service rep's supervisor. I was told the supervisor would tell me the same thing and refused to connect me. The nearest Lowes is an hour round trip. The items we purchased cost 3.98 a piece. Lowes shipping/order fulfillment screwed up the order. For the first time in five years I decided not to use the Internet to buy a water filter...what a mistake I needed a filter fast and thought 'brick and mortar' I called Lowe's & process to get to a person was over four minutes I gave the person the info, they out me on home. . 19 minutes later I arrived (still without an answer) found the filter DIRECTLY BEHIND the associate at the counter. I was checking out when they picked up the phone to say they could NOT find the filter. I explained it was behind them, it took me 30 seconds to locate it, and 60 to buy it. It took them 20 to tell me they did not have it. My reward for this bad service? Paying 100% more for the SAME filter I bought on Line. The best part of this is that when I walked through the door I saw 6 sales associates speaking with one another, none were helping me. read more

Horrible customer service! I ordered a washing machine on a Tuesday and scheduled delivery on Wednesday. I received the confirmation email and text that the delivery was set for 11am - 3pm. Stayed home all day Wednesday waiting on a delivery that never showed up and never received any kind of an updated. Spent almost 2 hours the next day (Thursday) trying to chase down anyone that could be of assistance. Was finally able to get a hold of someone named Michael (refused to give me his last name) in shipping who said they screwed up my order and would not be able to deliver it now until Sunday. I have a young child and cant go an entire week without being able to do laundry! I confirmed that they made a mistake with the labeling of my order which caused it to not leave their warehouse and now the best they can offer me is to deliver it 4 days late?!? I asked the gentlemen repeatedly for his last name and his exact response was, "its just Michael, you don't need to know my last name". He then said well that is all I can do and the call ended. Unfortunately I wasted 30 minutes talking to numerous Lowe's people only because they did not have the minimal knowledge required for helping me with my online order to be picked up at the store by one of our employees. It is unacceptable to waste a customer's time with poor service and minimal customer service knowledge. Improvements for dealing with customers over the phone are badly needed... not only does nobody pick up when you select the operator option, but when you do pick a department, they are more concerned with finding out why you called THEIR department instead of helping resolve simple issues. Go to Home Depot instead, at least you can list a pickup person for your orders on their site without wasting up to an hour talking to people who hate their customers like Lowe's does. read more

I walked in this store at 8:00 p.m. to get replacement window roller shades for my Moms bedroom. I found the department and waited a little over 10 minutes. I then walked back up to the front of the store and asked the lady that was minding the self service registers to page someone for me. I went back over and waited another 11 to 12 minutes. Then a black guy was walking by and I asked him if he could cut the shades for me...he said he'd send someone over. That was another 10 minutes. Now I was aggravated. A young girl was walking by and I asked her if she could cut shades for me. She said no and the person that did it left at 6:00. I told her I was waiting over 20 minutes and said I'm sorry and I don't know what to tell you. Doesn't Lowes cross train people on different things in their stores? If not that's ridiculous cause your losing money. And to not have someone minding the shade cutter machine after 6 is ridiculous to...cause that store doesn't close til 10. Having bought a house this year with my amazing girlfriend I find myself at lowes more than any other store. We spent thousands of dollars here and I give them 3 stars because they mess up deliveries, give you broken items, they are pricier than home depot. Had so many issues with them. The employees dont care as much as other stores and the company eventhough they mess up does nothing to compensate you but only offer apologies. Bad management, terrible corporate employees. I purchased foam brushes here that are great. Compared to Home Depot (sorry home depot) but these brushes are better. I found from experience these do not soak up the polyurethane like a sponge. Anyone who has polyurethaned knows that excess polyurethane is a nightmare. The more you brush to level out the polyurethane creates brush streaks in what has already started to dry even if using a self leveling polyurethane. read more

Two major annoyances on a recent trip: 1) Saw two employees in the garden center have a 25 minute conversation while customers were forced to ask the lone cashier for help finding stuff. In general, a lot of employees standing around but not one offered a greeting or "can I help you with something?". 2) For some bizarre reason, didn't have the same assortment of smoke detectors as the Derby store; apparently don't carry a certain brand at all here which they had a bunch of in Derby.
