Never going to order from their website again. Super slow delivery! When I called to ask why my order wasn't delivered in a timely fashion they didn't offer to find out or expedite it any any fashion. The older guy with white hair at the cashier's desk offered a snide comment to me about calling me when my item was ready. He was not friendly and couldn't be bothered (and there wasn't any one else waiting to be checked out!). Not going back there anytime soon! read more

Purchased a deluxe Weber grill a few years back from Hemlock. Took some da Mage in hurricane last week and dropped in to Hemlock for a part to repair. Shock zero help or interest in helping. Went on line found part needed and it coming direct to my house. Could of bought grill from Home Depot but took the leap to go local in case I needed support. Hemlock came up shot on help so I guess it make no difference where you buy. Service is a lost are I guess. Thank God for the internet. Trying to stay local just does not work. A rather large local-style hardware store. Always friendly and helpful here, I'd rather drop in here to grab things than the big box places. They also have a reward program so ask about that if you're in here a few times. read more

The guy with the white hair was so rude & disrespectful. I tried to speak to him. He kept speaking over me. I said my brother bought the wrong thing. He said" you should of got it yourself." This is the best hardware store for miles - - maybe in the state of CT - - where help is readily available but not overbearing. Quick in and quick out and when you're busy (as I am), that is so valuable. I would have expected, and would be happy to pay a little more but I didn't find things to be more expensive. These guys really know what they are doing! I have been here twice - once to get our Weber grille for my husband before Father's Day last year. Not only were they quick and knowledgable - they came and hooked it up the next day AND since we needed it connected to our gas - called up someone to come immediately so that my hubby came home to a brand new fully loaded hooked up grille!!! Both times I've been there, I'm immediately greeted with a huge friendly smile and attended to the minute I walk in the door! I had a piece of silver stuck to a glass bottle and needed to get it off. They knew just what stuff would get it loose! Not only are they incredibly knowledgeable - but they also gave me extra pointers on a couple of handy questions I asked. In my opinion the best hardware store I know of in Fairfield. Everything you need is there-even the nails and screws that Home Depot does not carry. Accessories for your Weber, American flags, paint, and the Scotts 4 step program all are here. The minute you walk in the door, a salesperson greets you and all you have to do is tell them what you want and BOOM they bring it to you in 2 seconds. Can't live without Hemlock. read more

Do NOT get keys made here! I want to like this place. I can there from my home and business. We own a multi-use building. I need keys made from time to time. On several occasions, the keys made here did NOT work. I hate to say it, but the keys at Home Depot are better. read more

What's great about this place is the owner. He knows a lot and comes up with great recommendations for useful fixes around the house. The prices are lower than competitors in the area and it is not a crowded place - there is room to move around without fear of knocking something over if you know what I mean. I go out of my way to schedule trips here rather than to other hardware stores. read more
