Everything there is grossly overpriced! They're eager to make the sale and get your money until there's a problem which ultimately will happen. Over a piddly key they cut for me that wouldn't work they refused to give me a refund even though it was their mistake. Although I've done a good deal of business with them over the years they showed me they have no regard nor respect for their customers. Manager was extremely rude and disrespectful to me from the moment I walked in the door. Better off going to Lowe's, Home Depot or another online delivery service which eventually will force them to shutter up shop for good. read more

This was a nice store, and had what I needed. The service was excellent, as there were many employees to help me with what I was looking for. The selection was decent, and had what I needed, although had to buy a slightly more expensive piece as the cheaper one had to be ordered. I haven't personally purchased anything from here, but we did stop by about two weeks ago. We heard down the street that there was a professional photographer set up in the back of the store near the washers/dryers and refrigerators with a backdrop and the Easter Bunny taking and print on the spot photos for FREE! We weren't really sure if what we heard was true, but we stopped by to check it out. Low and behold, in the back of the store we found the spot and it was a great experience. We left with a free potholder to keep out newly printed photo in. It was nice to see a place like this doing a free event for the community. I work at one of the schools down the street and will totally be back if I ever need anything of the sort. read more

I ordered something online for contact free pickup. When I got to the store they said they couldn't find the item. I waited for a while then they called me in my car to say they didn't have the item and would have to order it. I would get it next week. When I got home I received an email saying the order was cancelled. I had to call them and re-order it, and would be notified when it came in. There is currently nothing on their site saying I had an order in. I hope they will reinstate it when the item comes in. I had a $5 rewards card to use with the order. My local store is closer than this one but the card was only good here. I don't know why they sent it to me from the Guilford store, which I'd never been in, instead of the Clinton store near me I frequent. Will have spent more money on gas than I would save with the reward card. read more

I purchased an expensive dishwasher. Sales people never told me that the brand( Bosch), in an effort to be efficient, did not come with a heating/dying element. What a terrible job it does at an expensive price. I am ripping it out to get dry dishes. I have bought many items here before an am very disappointed in them. read more

I ordered a new grill from Page and what an experience. The service was professional, competent and well informed. The grill was assembled for me by the folks at Page and delivered to my home in less than two weeks. The communication was excellent from purchase to delivery. This summer we had to get rid of a (leaky!) old air conditioner. We trusted Page Hardware for the replacement, because every time we go there they have what we need and good advice. The Page Hardware building is riddled with historic flourishes that I would like to learn more about, as evidenced in the appliances section in front front of the store. The Page Hardware guy emerged from behind double-hinged bank vault doors with our new unit. It has been working great and was affordable to buy. I bought a dryer from Page Hardware because they were supposed to be known for good customer service. Has not worked since the day we got it. Have had 5 service calls from GE for same problem in less than a year. Page wanted nothing to do with the problems we were having and just sent us to GE repair. When asked to speak with owner, we were told he doesn't take these kinds of calls. Finally went to CEO of GE Appliances to get resolution. Page was rude, disinterested, and unhelpful. I have this thing about small businesses. I believe in them. I believe in the mom & pop stores and restaurants that bring a family warmth to their products and services. I especially adore the attention to detail and the exceptional customer service that is often found at small businesses. I found that service here at Page Hardware and Appliance Co. Though I have yet to visit the store in person, I have interacted with the staff on a few occasions via telephone and email. I ordered some gorgeous mason jars online, which I found through Jacin from Lovely Little Details, and was so happy with my purchase! They packed them so well each jar was perfect. I ordered a few more and though there was some confusion, everything was all good!!! The staff here are so friendly and helpful! Page's is a wonderful hardware store that is a throwback to simpler times. More like a general store without groceries. Wooden floors, well stocked shelves, bins for buying just the amount of nails you need, and lots of help. There is a wide selection of high quality pots and pans, knives, cooking utensils, pot holders and kitchen aprons, and hard to find items like cast iron tea kettles and gravy separators most of there items are high quality, but they also offer made in China items that are more affordable if something needs fixing in your home, you will very likely find what you need at Page's They also sell excellent high end kitchen appliances My only quibble is that the help, once knowledgeable older people, have been replaced by enthusiastic but less informed youngsters, who sometimes, frankly, are clueless When I'm in Guilford I always stop at Page's read more

Stopped by to find two new lawn chairs. Good selection and a super friendly staff. They helped me load my car and exercised very safe practices like hand sanitizing before entering the store, all employees had masks and/or gloves on, one-way entrance and exit paths were clearly marked and protocols were followed correctly. We were doing a huge remodel to our home and shopped for appliances. I do not enjoy shopping at big box stores nor does my husband but our purchases were extravagant so we thought we would shop before we visited Page's in Guilford. We were not disappointed after our second visit to this wonderful, historic establishment. I always love going into that store since it reminds me of many years ago. And what also brings me back is the incredible service you receive at this store. Our initial visit left me in doubt but we returned to Page's and met with a wonderful and knowledgeable gentleman named Jim Blair. Jim listened to everything we had to say and immediately went into action explaining the different appliances, price points and specific advantages of each. He was terrific and there was no doubt at all we had found the best person and the best business to work with during this time. Our appliances were ordered and delivered on time as promised! No hesitation with delivery at all. Every place else (including a local appliance store) gave us such a lot of discouraging information we were willing to put off our remodel until things changed with the "supply change." One of the wonderful things about Guilford is Page. Whatever you need for your small home improvement project, they have it. Need an odd size screw, or a wingnut to replace the one that fell under the deck when you were fixing something? They have it, 20 cents. It's a fascinating business model, when you think about it -- spend 10 minutes of employee time at $10 an hour or so to find me the exact right size 20 cent fastener. I *really* wanted to write a glowing review but I was really put off by the delivery process and then by the way the sales person handled my feedback when I called the next day to let Page's know about some bumps we experienced. Our delivery of three kitchen appliances was scheduled very precisely because of my husband's work schedule. The time we agreed upon was confirmed via phone call the evening before. Day of delivery we received a "we'll be there in 5 minutes" call from the delivery truck. This is three hours before our scheduled delivery and none of the food is out of the old fridge, our dogs haven't gone to grandmas yet as planned to have them out before the delivery time. As you can imagine chaos ensued with my husband having to ditch his scheduled meeting calls because they were delivering NOW (no option was given to come back at our agreed upon time). The dishwasher contractor arrived exactly on time so that appointment made at the time of our sale was honored. When I called the next day to the appliance dept. just to let them know about what went on I spoke to J. He didn't seem to think that what happened was a problem and that we "shouldn't have let them in" and "life happens". Basically a lukewarm sorry and he was done with me. Well we shopped with Pages in the first place to shop local and get presumed great customer service. Don't get me wrong: our appliances are here as expected, the price was fair, buying the appliances was not a problem but the delivery of the appliances and post-delivery feedback experience left much to be desired. So if timing is important to you for a delivery be sure to consider this. read more

We could not be happier with the new KitchenAid refrigerator we bought from Page. After a lot of research, we went to Page to check out the local business as an option. Joe, in appliances, was both knowledgeable and professional. It was obvious he wanted to answer questions and was not just pushing for a sale. After more price checking, we returned to Page and got a price that was slightly lower than the big box store. The delivery was remarkable. If there is such a thing as "white glove service", we got it. The workers had to remove an exterior door on the house as well as doors on the old refrigerator the removed and the new one they installed. They took time, were careful about every detail and took enough time to do the job right. We could not be happier and will tell everyone to check out Page. read more

I absolutely adore Page Hardware from their stainless steel appliances to their stainless steel cleaner (Weitzman to be exact). This store is simply wonderful and filled with wonderful and informative employees. They will also price match whenever possible. I have bought several appliances here for my home and feel very lucky to have purchased them from Page Hardware. I liked them even better when they did their service in-house. Will never make another purchase from page..After spending thousands upon thousands, purchasing every appliance in my home, I purchased a refrigerator which was a lemon, and died at fourteen months, two months out of warranty.. I lost three hundred dollars of food in the freezer and refugerator. Which as a senior , I cannot afford to do.. I called page, and they said there was nothing they could do, as they have no idea if an appliance was defective...Imagine that kind of reply.. I would never recommend them. Years ago they were fine, but no more. They don't care about their customers. I would recommend Shore Tv or Home Depot, as both guarantee their appliances and if they cannot repair them, they will replace.. Page Is horrible, so buyer beware..if you purchase a bad appliance you are stuck and out the money. I will report them to consumer affairs.. I am not the first one that has gotten ripped off by them..they do not stand behind their appliances. Another friend of mine also had this same experience. My family and I have been disgusted with Page's Hardware and how they treated a family member of ours recently....especially since we've been loyal customers for years now. This family member went into the store to purchase a couple small items needed for a remodeling project at the house... then 2 days later, a POLICE OFFICER is at our home on a SATURDAY MORNING to "inform (family member) that they are investigating allegations of theft from their store"! Thing is though, the receipts had been saved for every purchase in store! Needless to say.... the GPD never came back after hearing the other side of the story (not Page's Hardware). Everything in that store is grossly overpriced anyways.... and we definitely won't be bringing them ANY MORE money after the humiliating stunt they pulled... and no acknowledgement of apology. I had the best experience today at Page Hardware. I have three teenagers, and literally do laundry around the clock. I needed my wash machine replaced, and within hours Pages had one delivered!!! I'm not much for reviews but after my last visit to Page Hardware & Appliance, it would be insulting to not leave one I recently went into Page's looking for an electrical burner that you could just plug into the outlet, and received the best customer service from any store I've ever gotten. The item I was looking for normally retails for around $20-30 dollars, so it wasn't like I was looking to spend enough for them go above and beyond like the did. When I went in the store I was helped by an associate to try to find the burner but they unfortunately out of stock. The associate went above and beyond to partner with the manager on duty to see if they had any left in there warehouse. In a normal situation in any other store they would tell you that if you check in a few days they should have a restock, but at Page's, they sent someone to drive down to their warehouse to find the burner I was looking for so I could have it that day. I just want to point out as well that I didn't care if I got it that day or if I had to wait, I was in no rush. But for a store to do something like that, and on an item that I only would be paying $20-$30 dollars for, really shows how much they value their customers. Big shout out to Page's for the help, they're staff is what other customer service stores should be striving for. read more
