Used Mower Delivered as New, False Promises, Contradictory Stories, and Corporate Stalling -- Worst Lowe's Experience Ever I purchased a Craftsman Z5200 zero‑turn mower from Lowe's Oswego (NY) and paid for delivery. What I received was used, dirty, and clearly not new. I have timestamped photos showing the condition of the mower and the blade. When I contacted the store, a Lowe's supervisor assured me I would receive a brand‑new replacement mower. She even stated, "I personally witnessed them assembling one out of the box." Based on that promise, I agreed to the exchange. On the day the exchange was supposed to happen, the Assistant Store Manager called me and said the exact opposite -- that the only mower they had was the outside floor model, not a new one. This directly contradicted what the supervisor told me. Then the store manager, Bobby, called and gave me a completely different story. He claimed the mower I had received was "new" and that zero‑turn mowers are shipped in open metal containers, which supposedly explained the dirt, rust, and wear. This is simply not true. When I asked for his last name, he refused to provide it, which is highly unprofessional and a major red flag. I scheduled a pickup to return the mower and a refund of my $3600 I paid for it. I stayed home for the entire pickup window. No one showed up. No one called. No one emailed. When I contacted the store afterward, they told me the pickup was "cancelled." I did NOT cancel anything. They could not explain who cancelled it or why. I then contacted Lowe's Corporate Care. I received an email saying "delivery scheduled" -- even though this was supposed to be a pickup. Every time I called corporate, I was told the same scripted line: "Someone will reach out within 24 hours." I was contacted the next evening and told a pickup would be scheduled for Monday to come retrieve the used mower yet kept receiving emails stating my delivery would be monday, then received another email stating "delivery" would be delayed until Wednesday, August 5th. THERE IS NO DELIVERY. Clearly, they do not know what they are doing at this store. Finally, after speaking with corporate again and making it clear that if I did not receive a call today, I would escalate this to the Attorney General's office, a pickup crew suddenly appeared SAME DAY at 1:04 PM. They were contracted drivers, not Lowe's employees, and even they took photos of the mower -- including the blade -- confirming the used condition. This entire experience involved: A used mower delivered as new A supervisor falsely claiming a new mower was assembled "out of the box" An Assistant store manager (unidentified) contradicting that and offering only a floor model A store manager lying about shipping conditions The store manager refusing to give his last name A pickup falsely marked as "cancelled" Corporate sending "delivery" emails instead of pickup confirmations Repeated scripted delays No action until legal escalation was mentioned I will never purchase large equipment from Lowe's again. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. Now, i wait for my refund to determine whether or not this gets escalated to the Attorney General's office. *** UPDATE Monday, August 3rd- Received refund receipt** When I finally received my refund, the paperwork listed ERIC SAWYER as the store manager -- not "Bobby," the name I was repeatedly given by staff. This is important because whoever "Bobby" was, he called me with a completely fabricated explanation claiming that zero‑turn mowers are shipped "in open metal containers across the country," and that rusted blades and weather damage are "normal." That story was false, contradicted by another employee the day before, and clearly designed to shut down my complaint rather than resolve it. The fact that I was told the manager was "Bobby," yet my refund receipt shows Eric Sawyer as the actual store manager, raises serious concerns about transparency and accountability. Between the misinformation, the contradictions, and the refusal to provide last names, the entire process felt deceptive and dismissive. I am updating this review to reflect the actual manager responsible according to the official documentation: ERIC SAWYER. The misleading information I received throughout this ordeal -- including the false shipping story and the misrepresentation of who was in charge -- is exactly why customers need to be aware of the business practices at this location. read more

Do not deal with Lowes Oswego for carpet installation. My parents had an appointment last week for installation, they never showed and never called. We called them and they said they would call them by the end of the day, no phone call. Called the next day to schedule installation the following week between 1-5pm, never showed. We purchased a GE Clothes Washer Model#GTW335ASN2WW in April 2023. The machine began malfunctioning two months later. I called the "repair tech" who came out, declared he knew what the problem was, ordered the part and said call us when the part is delivered, I'll come back and install it." It arrived, I called, he returned, installed a part that had nothing to do with the original problem of spontaneously starting, or the lid locking half-way thru a cycle... BtW unplugging it and plugging it back in doesn't "fix the problem." So a few weeks went by and the problem continued. the check GE sent covered all trips to the Laundro-mat, but didn't fix the problem... . I call both GE and Lowes. Lowes Mgr trainee whose name rhymes with Wad got aggressive and interrupted me while I was offering a solution to address their defective machine problem. Highly unprofessional to say the least... At one point rhymes with Wad said, " You had your chance to buy the Extended Warranty but you didn't so, 'Sorry' there's nothing I can do." I asked him to stop interrupting me which he did, and I finally suggested they deliver a different machine, and pick up the defective one since the new $800. machine began malfunctioning within two months of purchase and now stopped working completely. When smoke came out of the back of the control panel, I unplugged it again to prevent a fire in our home. GE, I later learned stands for Gross Excrement. Lowes stands for subpar ~ but maybe a fence for the Chinese gov't that apparently sells defective merchandise that ruins peoples homes by leaking water, smoking and creating black mold when the machines lid locks with water inside and there's no way to open it, and yeah, unplugging re-plugging doesn't work. So to facilitate an independent resolution I'm going to carefully return the defective GE washer Model# GTW 335ASN2WW; Serial# DV950902G to Lowes in Oswego. You can bet they'll return it to the manufacturer GE, a Haier Corp. Division and get reimbursed then keep the money which could be a crime if Lowes' illegally profits under the NY State Civil Code, and fails to refund the entire $800. cost of the defective machine that Lowes knew was defective. I'll never shop at lowes again, and I'll buy my new washer from a local independent store with people who know what customer service means. read more

We purchased all new Kitchen Aid appliances for our kitchen here. 3 out of 4 needed repairs within the first year and our dishwasher (that is still being sold here) can't be repaired for two reasons 1. No parts available 2. No repair service in our area The fact that they still sell such a poor quality, and now disposable product to the unknowingly gullible public should be a crime and is nothing short of morally reprehensible. They seem to be fine for day to day products. I shop there often and they generally have what I need or can help. This review is specifically for their projects. In July of last year I began the process of ordering a fence. It was and still is a very simple order, as I have a small, square back yard. I put in the official order shortly after (early Aug 2019) with a timeframe 3-4 weeks for completion. It's now June 2020 and the project is still not finished. The salesman that I have been working with (Steve Peters) has been blowing me off for months, and the store is yet to help. I understand now that Coronavirus has thrown a wrench into things, but that started in March. Why wasn't it completed in the 6 months prior? Steve is yet to take responsibility for any of his mistakes, some of which include repeatedly messing up paperwork, not keeping us informed of things he needs from us, and mistakes in ordering. For instance, he ordered the complete wrong panels and had those sent to our house without checking the order. We had to stop installation half way and wait for the correct ones to be reordered, which ended up taking months. He also ordered three completely different styles of gates for the fence, which makes absolutely no sense to me. The gates did not come with latches, which both the installers and I reminded him of, but he still neglected to order them. He's also lied multiple times in regards to these orders. I will call him and he'll say that he has put in the order and to expect the products within 2-3 weeks, then check in 2-3 weeks later to have him tell me he just put in the order yesterday. This hasn't happened once, it has happened over and over again. When I call him on it he acts like he's done nothing wrong. Now, all of this would be one thing if he simply said he messed up. Instead,he has blamed everyone from the contractors, to suppliers, to installers, to me, to his own store's management team. He has tried to make others look bad in order to make himself look good, but instead he looks pathetic. I feel bad for those he works with, because he's been talking crap about all of you and you don't deserve it. The install teams don't want to work with him anymore, and I've spoken to others that are very dissatisfied with his work. I normally wouldn't leave a review like this, but it has been 11 months now with no resolution and no end in sight, and they still have my money. I don't want anyone else to have to deal with this, so I hope this persuades you to look elsewhere. He is apparently in charge of sales for multiple stores now, so it's best to avoid if you're in or near Oswego. read more

Cory's Flooring Terrible worker that immediately gave me attitude demanding to turn up my heat and took FOREVER. Not only was he (Cory, owner of Cory's Flooring through Lowe's) very snippy, but he also took an excessive amount of cigarette breaks and was smoking around the brand-new, expensive carpets. I was not impressed at all and would strongly advise others to steer clear of his business. read more

Ordered Levelor blinds in July and went through pure, frustrating hell trying to get the correct blinds delivered and installed through December. Asked to speak to manager multiple times but, of course, never available and never reached out once. Home Depot may be a much longer drive, but totally worth it. read more
