We have spent an extraordinary amount of money in both of these stores. We rarely need to make returns, but we just had a recent instance of having to return 5 bags of polymeric sand because we decided to have the job done by a contractor. I saved the receipt and my husband went to the store to return the sand. It was a VERY UNPLEASANT experience to learn that there is a 90 day window on returns (with receipt) and NO EXCEPTIONS ARE GRANTED FOR A RESELLABLE ITEM such as polymeric sand! Let's see where to begin,The store was advertising painters tape for $4.72 normally $6..48 not an online purchase,but as a store item putchase,showed in stock what aisle I get there and of course the price with the item says the regular price of 6.48 so Itake it to the counter with a Screenshot of their price and I ask the girl could you scan this and she says yes it's 6.48 and I show her my screenshot and she says, that's for online purchase I said no it is not it is for in store and she of course has to go through the page she really doesn't know what she's looking, then says I'll have to get a manager who never came So one of the other employees kind of waved their hand and said ah give it to him for that price like she was doing me a favor, between walking to the checkout and walking out the door that took 8 minutes. This store is only 2 miles from my house and it's pretty much been off the limits through the years I'd much rather drive to the suburbs where it's safe this is a very dangerous store, then leaving the store to get back to Aramingo Avenue by Wheatsheaf lane I had some homeless bum banging on my passenger window. Purchased an LG LTCS10020W fridge at Lowe's they also sold us the LK65L ice maker separately to go with it. After 2 very frustration hours trying to install we finally came to the conclusion that it was not compatible. The part that really aggravates me is after reading reviews on the ice maker on line other people were having the same issues. LG received a 1 star review from us for their fraud product that they keep peddling to the unsuspecting public Lowes also get 1 star review because we're not the only customer who has run into this issue and they keep peddling this same product as if it's compatible. Plus we called the store and asked for the manager left my number for a return call. A day later and no call back. Great customer service...guess not!! read more

Purchased multiple items online and my order was sent to Lowe's Aramingo. I received a phone call from a woman stating that one time was unavailable and asked if I wanted to cancel. I said I didn't want to cancel the whole order but asked questions to try and rectify the situation. The woman put me on hold in the middle of me speaking and then hung up on me. I called the store twice and no one answered. Decided to call Lowe's Customer Service. Rep pulled up my order and then 5 min later, the rep says my order was cancelled. The woman who called me cancelled my order without my consent. Customer service called Aramingo to see if they would be helpful and solve my issue but they would not. I asked the rep if she could call the South Philly location and she was wonderful enough to do so. Thank goodness customer service solved my problem and fulfilled my order at the Columbus Blvd location. I will not purchase from this location again! I ordered online and paid the delivery fees in full. When the delivery driver arrived, I asked that the pallets be dropped behind the home in the drive way as there was nowhere in the front to place, the driver stated that she couldn't and started to unload in front of my house. I asked multiple times that she please take them to the rear and she said no. At this point, the driver was stacking the pallets in the front yard area where part of the pallets' weight was being sustained partially by my retaining wall. when she went to place the 6th pallet the whole retaining wall collapsed. After damaging my wall, she then managed to able to put the last one to the back which was what I requested from the beginning. Therefore, the reason why she did not place the pellets in the backyard was because she did not want to. The driver then got very hostile and upset and started yelling at me. She was being really unprofessional and discriminating towards asians in her harsh words. Now I figuring out matters with Lowes who hired this company to deliver and they're saying they are not responsible for that and blaming the third party who I don't even know them. As far as Home improvement centers go this one seems to be right on pace. The prices are average and the staff is somewhat helpful, meaning that some are helpful and some are absolutely clueless. It's easy to navigate and they are always well stocked. I have never been in there and didn't get what I came for. The floor is kept pretty clean and the aisles are well organized. The gardening center is just as clean and organized. The plants are well taken care of and everyone out there is professional and helpful. There are plenty of other Lowes in the city but if you are close to this one you wouldn't be wasting your time stopping here. read more

NIGHTMARE KITCHEN INSTALLATION STORY AHEAD! ONLY HIRE LOWES IF YOU CAN LIVE WITHOUT A KITCHEN FOR 8+ MONTHS! The cabinets we ordered came unexpectedly early which meant we had to live with 15 large cabinet boxes and a 64" pantry in our tiny row home for almost 2 months before we could schedule the install. Nightmare continues...they hang the top cabinets which are beat to hell , 26 digs, scrapes, and even a failed inspection sticker on one. Keep in mind we are paying 5k for this and they send out one person, for 4' cabinets, the day before Thanksgiving. Long story short, the measured wrong and now the bases won't fit. For the next 3 weeks, I spend 2 hours of every day trying to get answers but its all finger pointing and "someone will call you back". You deal with 4 different companies when you hire lowes, keep that in mind. So now, I have to take more time off work to schedule the installer to come take down the cabinets, live with them in my house for God knows how long, schedule the manufacturing to come pick them up, wait 3 months for new cabinets to come in, schedule the manufacturer drop off, and then schedule the installer again. THIS HAS BEEN AN EVEN WORSE NIGHTMARE THAN I COULD HAVE EVER IMAGINED. IT WILL BE OVER 8 MONTHS BEFORE I CAN EVEN THINK ABOUT HAVING A SINK AGAIN. If you think paying up for Lowes is worth it, be prepared to wash dishes in a basement sink for the next 8 months. read more

This location has the worst delivery dept. ever. I was given a window of 9-11 for a Washer Dryer return and they never came. I called the store several times and waited on hold for an hour. The customer service reps only can say that they could contact the dept. but could not offer any other help. Horrible place to shop read more

Garbage. Garbage. Garbage. I had a fence replaced by Lowe's and it cost me almost $4000. This fence came with a lifetime guarantee. 2 months after instillation, it started to fall apart. I asked to have it fixed. I asked for a refund. The subcontractor finally came out to look at it and over a week after that, Lowe's (never having come out to see the work that was done) offered a $900 compensation. I don't go to many hardware stores, so I can't rate them as excellent and and give them a bad review either. No complaints regarding the checkout counter. They were fast and I wasn't waiting forever. I did have to wait a little bit for someone to come by to get something off a higher shelf. The ladder thing was right there, so I could have climbed it myself, but I didn't want to get any employees or myself into any trouble by using it. I tend to go here more than their competitor bc I feel it has a nicer selection of items, but they do lack some items as well. When looking for screws or items small like that, I find a larger selection elsewhere, but I normally can find what I need. Sometimes I do feel as if the aisles could be a lil more organized and labeled better though. I have gone through the entire store looking for something, only to find out it was located in an aisle I would totally not see it in on a norm. read more

Their self-checkouts were not working so had to wait in line. Then the clearance item that I wanted to purchase rang up at the regular price. They were going to go and check the price but weren't even sure where I found the item. There were people behind me in line, so as not to inconvenience them, I just left. The cashiers and manager were rude, like they were doing me some kind of favor by finding out the correct price on the shelf. This has happened to me at Lowe's a couple of times. Once I ordered an item online and I went to pick it up and was broken. I purchased a washer and dryer from them that I thought would be installed when they delivered it, but I was not told to purchase a separate gas hose, so had to make another trip to their store. I have had numerous issues at Lowe's which compels me to warn other customers to shop elsewhere. read more

I typically like Lowe's when I need to go to that sort of big-box, but this Lowe's is terrible! At one point in the barbecue section I could not find the charcoal. I noticed a group of teenagers goofing around, and upon further inspection realized they were all employees of the store. One of the employees darted away as soon as he saw me walk up, and the rest of them avoided looking at me until I had said excuse me a few times. I asked where I could find charcoal for grilling, and got blank looks. "You know, charcoal for barbecuing, grilling outside. I think its around here with the grills, but I can't seem to find it." I was pointed out into the gardening area. At that point my husband came over with a bag of charcoal he had found towards the back of the grilling section. The salesperson's response "OOOhhhhh, charcoal! For grilling! Yeah, that's back over there." Thanks buddy. Next I had to buy some wire cutters to snip some chicken wire, and overwhelmed with the selection I asked a different sales person for help. Again a blank look. He said he was going to go ask someone who had worked there longer. And up walks an old lady who looks like she has worked there for 50 years. I asked her which snips would be the best for cutting chicken wire. She responded "Dearie, you know you have to be careful with chicken wire. I once had a neighbor who put up a chicken wire fence, and wouldn't you know her dog chewed a hole right through it. She spent $1,000 at the vet , and it didn't even keep that damn dog from digging up my garden." She walked away shaking her head and tsk-tsking, and she had never even asked was I was using the chicken wire for. The only positive part of this experience is that they have self-checkout, so I was spared having to talk to anyone else who worked there. I filed a complaint with Lowe's Corporate regarding a refrigerator I purchased. From the beginning of this endeavor, there were a series of incompetence and errors that led to a horrific shopping experience unlike any I have ever experienced, without exaggeration. I never filed a complaint, or wrote a review, but this experience was so bad that I was compelled to do so. May 9th - The order was place over the phone by Lowe's, who sent it to the Maple Shade Lowe's (Store #163). My email for the order was listed incorrectly as a random email address. I received a call from the Maple Shade Lowe's and they stated that the item that was listed in the inventory had since been sold that morning, so they offered to have a new one ordered (which would take a week). Instead, I had the order sent to be fulfilled via the Philadelphia - Aramingo Ave Lowe's (Store #2732), where they had 2 in stock, since this was a Mother's Day gift, and I needed the fridge to replace a broken one at my mother's house, and I needed the fridge delivered on a Saturday (since someone needed to be home). Soon after, I receive an email from Philadelphia Lowe's saying my order was ready for pickup (even though it was a delivery order); I continued to receive reminders to pick up my order over subsequent days. May 10th - I called Lowe's customer service to have them correct the email address on file and to change all of the phone numbers from my work number to my cell phone so I would not miss any calls. I am told the change is made. The manager also confirms that the delivery is good for Saturday, May 12th. May 12th - The fridge is not delivered. My sister took off of work to be home for the delivery. They had not called or showed, so she called the equally incompetent delivery service XPO and was told that "the delivery was deleted this morning at 9AM by the Lowe's manager". I then receive an email from Lowe's saying "Thank you for picking up your order". I contacted the Philadelphia Lowe's, who stated that the order was deleted due to an error with their billing, and that it wasn't on the truck for delivery today. They agree to reschedule the delivery for May 13 (MOTHER'S DAY) between 12:30PM and 2:30PM. May 13th - Called Lowe's to confirm delivery is going out, and am NOW told that the fridge being provided has a dent in it, so they will provide an additional discount (in addition to the one given for the missed delivery date on Saturday) if we choose to keep the fridge, or send out another unit later in the week to replace it (which did not work with our schedule because nobody would be home). I receive a voicemail from XPO driver AT MY WORK PHONE NUMBER ON A SATURDAY saying they are at the delivery address but can only wait 15 minutes. I received no phone call that the drivers were on the way, either at work, or on my cell. My mom and sisters do not receive a knock at the door, and my sister does not receive a call on her cell phone. XPO later states that they did not have the correct delivery address on file, even though the automated voicemails listed the correct delivery address. (I also receive another email reminder that my order is ready FOR PICK UP!?!?) I speak with XPO and Lowe's at various times to try to figure out what happened; they reschedule the delivery for Monday, May 14th. I receive an automated message from XPO that night at my work number and sister's cell phone saying the delivery will be on May 14 between 9AM and 11AM. This time is insufficient for my mom and sisters as they will not be home until noon, so they call back to request the 12PM to 3PM window. XPO agrees to deliver between 12PM and 3PM May 14th - My mom calls XPO to confirm delivery time of 12PM to 3PM at 8AM; she is told it's listed as 11PM to 1PM, and that they still have the wrong phone number on file. XPO called an hour later to inform that the drivers are unable to arrive between 12PM to 3PM. I canceled the order, and reordered the item from Home Depot. Unlike the only (at the time I am writing this) reviewer I have had good experiences with this place. I have found the staff always to be helpful and friendly. I bought one of those outdoor raised firepits a while ago and the employee who helped me even brought it out to my car! As a homeowning gal I try my hand at fixing things myself (well minor things anyway) before seeking outside help. No matter how silly I feel asking a question, they are answered with patience. I needed a new hot water heater recently - the staff helped me choose one and coordinated with an installer. The new water heater was installed and the old onewas removed by the end of the day. Their garden center is great - although I do prefer Greensgrow, Lowes has a better planter selection and fills the gaps that GG leaves because they are smaller. Even their cleaning supplies are well stocked and well priced. I think that Lowes, over Home Depot, is aimed at the typical homeowner. In my opinion HD is greared more toward contractors and professionals. Sofor me and my needs, Lowes has always been a good fit. Prices are competitive. Staff is helpful. They have always had what I needed. As I write this I am plotting a list of things I need there and I know they will have it (air conditioner filter, baby proofing supplies, a hanging planter and some marigolds) read more

I can't convey to the reader the level of incompetence at this store. I do not like to normally chastise people in retail to this degree, but the management at this store are complete idiots to say the least. I placed an on line order for two shovels and bug spray. The one shovel was not in stock even though the website said several were available. The item was cancelled, unbeknownst to me until I got to the store. No phone call. When I arrived at the store to pick up the items I stood at the pick up window. No one was there. I had to call for someone to help me. They had one person working both the return counter and the pick up booth. Two separate counters, one person to work them both. That makes sense. Twenty five minutes later I find out that my order was never ready, even though I received an email to come and pick it up. No apology, no thanks, and like I said, management are total idiots. How you do not properly staff your store is beyond my comprehension. How is it fair that this woman should do double the work because her manager is an idiot. Hopefully someone's head will roll for this level of service, or lack there of. read more

Purchased a fence to privatize my backyard they were quick to pick up the payment which had to be paid in full nearly $2G paid in full by the 15th of June then was set up for installation for June 29th & 30th took off work then was told they confused me with Carmichael who had the same first name ok then said installation would be the 5th and 6 in return I took off again no one showed up on 5th after calling the store so much the installer called said he was doing work for ms Davis again same first name as me. This is a pattern not once did they offer me anything for my inconveniences or loss of pay fence still not in. The price isn't even that great to put up with the lies and lack of commitment to do the job that is paid in full. Go somewhere else if you need installation. read more

I don't live near this Lowe's but the customer service was excellent and I would come back. I didn't give it a 5 star due to my 4 trips back to the store to return and exchange the gazebo parts. Lowe's customer service sucks!!! I bought a dryer that turned out to be too large to get in the basement. The delivery guy was nice enough, told me I could go back to the store & get another. He told me the correct size. I went to 2 stores because the first Lowe's doesn't sell gas dryers so I had to go to the store where I originally purchased it (Plymouth Meeting, PA) The guy that helped me (wasn't wearing a mask, only a face shield) said he couldn't do anything until the dryer was back in the store physically & he didn't have a clue when that would happen & couldn't find out when that would happen either. How can they track it to the minute going out, but no clue when it would be back in the store! I will be requesting a full refund when the dryer is back in the store & bottom line (if you're still reading this), BEWARE of buying any big ticket items from Lowe's! Just had my last experience with Lowe's. Was supposed to have cabinets delivered on Saturday 7/13 got a window of 8am-8pm day of ordering. Day before got a window of 1-6pm. Then the day of cabinets can't be delivered because they are damaged & the 1 other they have is damaged as well. Spent lots of money there on different home improvement projects after being disappointed by Home Depot & their delivery BS. I usually go out of my way to go to the Aramingo store even though I do not live nearby. ( I often combined it with a trip to Byrne's Tavern for lunch which is convenient). I'm there so often that i know many employees by name. There is a young woman in the hardware ? section named Dorothy who is unbelievable. Shannon in customer service is great. Rob in the plumbing department knows everything. And the pro desk where I often go for consultation is awesome and staffed by Rob and Joe who go out of their way to help me with often complicated situations. They are patient and knowledgeable. There is also a young man named Robin who is very helpful when cutting wood or selecting products or delivering heavy items to my car. My only complaint is the parking lot. It is like the Wild Wild West. Contractors park everywhere. I even had one nut case back right up to my car so he could stand on my bumper to load his truck. Shopping carts and hand trucks are all over the place. They ought to send the parking authority to that place. Overall the staff makes this store worth this trip to the parking lot rodeo.
