Not my ideal use of a Saturday afternoon, but moderately convenient. I still feel, even with all the markings, and in the-app explanations of where things are, it's always tough to find things here. "It says 42, and I'm underneath an aisle sign for 42." "Oh, no, see, that means it's down on the far northwest wall across the store, latitude 42!" or some nonsense. I just expect it now when I go in. But, it's easy in and out. They have a mobile app and way to have people bring things out to the car, which we've utilized when doing a quick trip with the kids. It is what it is, and while there can sometimes be good deals or convenience, it lacks the more natural, easy-going nature of a local hardware store when you're in the middle of a project. read more

My goodness.... to start in Jan returned a dishwasher as it didn't fit out plumbing. Paid in cash, was given part back in cash part mailed as a gift card. I use the gift card in June to buy an immersion blender. It's broken after 5 days I return it in person hand the gift card over. Lady says we have to put it on a new gift card. Ok sure.... 2 days later I go online to re order an immersion blender. This card is only valid in store mind you they DONT sell these blenders in store. I call and explain the issue. The fix.... just use your money buy a new one return it in store and buy it back with the I store gift card???? What!? No! What a waste of time and money that is for me. I requested a manager and was told they're sooooo busy because the district manager is here... I said ok then I'll speak to the DM. She hung up on me. read more

I ordered a 4.5-cu ft Mini Fridge with Freezer (silver and black) for the office, and honestly, it's been great so far. It's super quiet, looks nice, and has way more space than I expected. The freezer part works great. The only downside is that it tends to freeze up a bit in the back, and then the water melts and drains down. Not a huge deal, just something to keep an eye on. Overall, it keeps everything cold and does exactly what I need it to. I recommend and will buy again. read more

I retired as a contractor. Shopped this location since it opened. 90% of my business was done with this location. i won't go into detail as to the delivery problems over the years. Many times I quit going, but a customer would want me to shop with them. Twice since my retirement I have ordered delivery from them, at my better judgement, both with the same issues. Friday last I placed an order for delivery on Tuesday (today), window of 8-8.... I got more than necessary annoying text to confirm my delivery. DONE. Late last night I happen to be looking through my emails....im told my delivery has been moved to Thursday. no phone call. No text...just moved...ENOUGH! I'm not one to usually post, but these people are out of hand. What has happened to customer service? I will be canceling my order. It won't matter to them. They couldn't care less. I don't normally leave reviews for stores but with all of the home projects I've had in the last three years, we basically live here. We typically make evening runs here 6-8pm timeframe. The customer service associates that work during this time are always amazing. They always take the time to answer questions and understand what kind of project we are working on/what parts we need. Between picking out paint colors, to hardware for doors, to plumbing.. they really know what they're doing! The only negative experience I've had is when we waited 2 months to get a microwave and they gave us one we didn't order. We found out once we got home and had to take it back. They wouldn't exchange it because they said they didn't carry the microwave we ordered and couldn't fulfill the order, so they just refunded it. It was so weird because we ordered it on their website and I don't understand why they wouldn't fulfill the order! read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. I've never been so mad. Husband bought two $100 Gift cards for me to give as gifts. Gave the first one to my client and poor guy had to text me to say that it didn't have any $ loaded on it. ‍ that had to suck for him with a cart full of stuff. Went to get the card from him and trade it for a 100 bill. Took both cards and the receipt back to the store to sort it out. 45 minutes later with 6 employees working on it and 30 minutes on the phone with their customer service line they declared that they "couldn't help me". WTH? So now they have $200 of my dollars and I have 2 empty gift cards. I lost my cool at the store when they said there was nothing they could do and the gal on the help line said it has to be handled at the store. NEVER AGAIN. Just don't go here. read more

Called at 10 till close and asked for them to look up a receipt (after calling a different store and having them do the same) and they said they "couldn't" do that after another store already had done it for us and it took less than a minute. We then pointed this out and the lady supposedly named Susan (doubtful that was actually her name but she had a heavy smokers voice) just said "please hold" and went and looked it up by our phone number, said she couldn't look it up by our name. Then said we had never bought anything at that store even though we have been there on numerous occasions. Meanwhile all we are trying to do is get a receipt for our freezer that went out and has cost us thousands of dollars. What happened to having good customer service? read more

Big home improvement stores have never been noted for great customer service, but Lowe's in Roeland Park is borderline dysfunctional. Aisles are often messy and difficult to navigate due to unorganized merchandise on pallets or otherwise taking up floorspace. Finding an associate who knows anything at all is a crapshoot. And when you call for information or to discuss an order, you can fully expect to spend ten minutes in on-hold purgatory before your call mysteriously hangs up. When you do get a manager who will speak with you and promise to keep in touch on an order (I had to go to the store after several dropped phone calls), this manager will become a missing person. I know these are tough times for employers, but there has to be bad management at play here. Other Lowe's stores in the vicinity are better organized and better stocked. This is the closest home improvement store to my house, but I will go elsewhere from now on. read more

Literally the worst experience ever. I ordered, online. 2 tool bags and some work apparel. (Hat, gloves, and safety glasses) After ordering it say that my things would be ready for pick up in two hours. It also said that the store had over 20 of this items in stock. It has now been 2 days and many trips back and forth to my local Lowe's and after all this wasted time, money and gas. The manager says to me that they have a problem finding the items and that I will have to cancel my order. This is so incredibly inconvenient. I have missed out on work and money because of this. Immediately walking in the door, we were greeted by an third party HVAC salesman who would not give up. Not only was he not practicing social distancing of 6 ft, he was spitting his sales pitch right at the main entrance which creates a bottle neck of customers. With a pandemic going on, and the entire store doing their best to practice social distancing, this was absolutely inappropriate. This is my go-to store for tools and projects, but I'll happily go a bit further to Home Depot if it means I won't be hounded at the door when I walk in, as well as risking my safety. read more

I placed an order online for more than $5,000 worth of kitchen remodeling supplies, which might be chump change to Lowe's but certainly isn't to me. The total was more than my bank would authorize without permission from me, so once I got it, Lowe's was supposed to debit the account THAT DAY. Did they? No, they waited a few days and the transaction got declined again. So what did they do? They CANCELED THE ORDER without even trying to contact me. I spent innumerable occasions on the phone at the store and on the 800 line, neither of which ever get answered by human beings and both of which involve interminable hold times and annoying recorded messages about how IMPORTANT your call is to them. Then their logistics people only brought me HALF of the order, although they charged me for all of it, of course. More time on the phone. Trying to split the order in half so it would go through my bank without permission. Trying to get the half they hadn't brought delivered with what was left. This involved GOING TO THE STORE IN PERSON to re-order the canceled items. Then they failed to show up three days in a row. Fortunately I'm working from home, but that doesn't make a difference to me. I'm sitting here right now, having received a text from logistics telling me they were one minute away ... twenty minutes ago ... and just before receiving the text I saw the truck DRIVE PAST MY HOUSE. Apparently reading street addresses isn't on the list of required vocational skills for their drivers. I'm on hold with the logistics call center, which is neither a toll free number NOR answered by a human being, with insipid piano music and intermittent assurances of how IMPORTANT my call is to them, even though they've left me on hold for more than ten minutes. Suffice it to say that once this order is finally delivered, Lowe's will never see another dime from me, ever, even on things I can carry out of their store myself. They obviously don't care enough about their customers to be worth bothering with. EDITED TO ADD that I ended up canceling the rest of the order because the delivery company LIED and said I wasn't home when they came by. Since they LIED last week about the first group of products they didn't deliver, I'm not surprised. Menards will complete my project supplies. read more

Great service! I went in to get a piece of wood cut up into specific sizes. They were so great, I would suggest tipping the guys as cutting can be time consuming. The staff is knowledgeable of their stock and willing to assist. I was very comfortable while visiting and asking for help as Lowe's is not a normal store I visit. read more

In general I have always found most Lowe's to be a friendly helpful place to shop and a few years ago this one used to be. The past year there are never any registers open the half of the self checkout machines have been broken for months. It is dirty. I paid for blinds to be installed in my house...5 sets. On the first go around, only one came in correctly. One was missing the battery pack, 2 did not have the lining, and the 4th wasn't even the correct type for the window! They were reordered and I was promised delivery on 3 different days. They never showed. Finally I got them 2 months later. One doesn't fit so I can't open it. The other 2 that were supposed to have linings were cut to short so although the light doesn't come through them, it does come around them. I will NEVER use them again! read more

I guess I should have read the reviews before going here. I usually like Lowe's better than Home Depot so when I recently purchased a house near this location I was thrilled. But my first visit ended on a horrible and embarrassing note. While trying to checkout, I realized I'd left my wallet in my car. So after the cashier rang me up, I apologized and said I'd be right back...that I had to run out to the car for my wallet. There was no one behind me waiting. In fact, there was no one else in any checkout line besides me. So I run out to my car...which was right in front of the door because practically no one was there..., grab my wallet, then have to run back through the store because of course you can't go back in the same door. I was gone, tops, 60 seconds. I get back to the place I was checking out and there's someone new there canceling all of my items. So I said, out of breath from running, "I think those are mine." And she said, as snotty as snotty can get, "Well, we had no idea where you went or if you were coming back." Apparently, saying quite firmly and clearly that you are running to your car for your wallet and will be RIGHT BACK in a minute is not adequate notice that you'll be returning. After several exasperated sighs and proving that I was completely making her job suck by having to make me swipe my credit card, I finally got checked out. Won't be back. Worst customer service ever. I'll be taking my business to the Home Depot down the road. read more

I seem to come here a lot less than Home Depot, but I really don't know why. They're about as close to home as Home Depot, just in another direction. The store is pretty well laid out and doesn't tend to be as crazy busy as the Home Depot we go to, so that's a positive. One negative, and this was from a few years back, is that I attempted to order some cabinetry and a new sink from them when I did a partial bathroom remodel and somehow they totally buggered it all up significantly delaying the completion of the project. I think I'm going to try to remember to check out this Lowe's a bit more often since I'm really no fan of our nearby Home Depot. Who knows? We may start to develop a more harmonious relationship. read more

I rate this Lowes at a solid three stars. Perhaps three and a half. It met but did not exceed expectations. The aisles are well organized and well stocked. The store is perhaps a bit understaffed for its size, but once one finds an employee, the staff is courteous and helpful. The purchase value of merchandise is good. Of course, I have not attempted to order a door from Lowes (see the other two reviews), but I will return to Lowes again and recommend it without reservations. read more

Typical Lowe's. Haven't had any bad experiences here...just meh...they're atittude is like a lot of other Lowe's. If someone is around, they'll usually help with a semi-half-hearted attempt...other times, it's like being in a desert, lucky to find someone or if you do, they're like a mirage, espy you and disappear into thin air...or so it would seem. On this particular occasion, I was looking for a specific item. Decided I'd find it quicker looking by myself and was just about to leave and voilà! I see an employee and start to go over to him. I ask him about the item and he immediately responds and starts to lead me down an aisle and even consults with another employee before leading me to the item. I am grateful for that service. Allowed me to get out of the store quicker than I expected. So, I will be back as the opportunities present themselves. read more

Huh. I really thought I had reviewed this Lowes, but apparently not. Regardless of having spent quite a bit of time here, and making multiple purchases, I have to say that 2 stars is really the best I can give them. Most of the time the service is painfully slow and/or not helpful, and I end up leaving annoyed and having to make another trip, usually to Home Depot. The items that we have purchased here have been good, so there's that. But, for example, yesterday we were in, looking for a 60 inch grill cover. Pretty straightforward. I asked the guy in the outdoors section if they had 60 inch grill covers, and his reply was "I have some 68 inch ones right over here". Yeah. Well, thank you for your "help", but that doesn't provide me with the item that I need or requested. And that experience is pretty much like most of the ones I have at this Lowes. I'm sure we'll be back - being homeowners, we always need something for the house, and this is the nearest Lowes...but that doesn't mean I'll enjoy my next visit in. read more

Our goal was to get a specific carpet installed which this Lowe's location in Roeland Park had. The first gal that helped did a very great job of showing us the products and giving a fairly quick timeline. She suggested to us to order larger samples to pick a color. Ordered on a Saturday received 2 mondays later. She did not put the order in till I called back to check the status on them. We picked a color and ordered the carpet. It came 1 day after the date told to us which is not bad. We then had to pay. I called in to discus payment options and the customer service gal could not find the 2 guys who were working that morning. I was in hold for 20 mins while she pages both of them. I didn't want to make the 20 min drive because I had to pick up a 2 years old and a 8 Mo th pregnant wife into the car to talk about paying. After another 10 mins on hold and her not being able to get a hold of them she went back there and said she couldn't even find them and it wasn't because they were helping a customer. So we went in... the 2 young boys were waiting there for a customer. I mentioned we tried calling in he said he had misplace the phone that pages him while he was on break. This was within the first hour they were open. So we sorted out the payment of 4900 for 4 bedrooms, stairs, and a hallway. Our first time so price seemed fine. Took a week to schedule the install which was another week away. They came to install the carpet and we followed the instruction no bedding on the beds, no clothes or small items on the floor, no hanging clothes and they would move the large unloveable items. They got here and my 8 month pregnant wife was here. They told her they were not to move anything because it wasn't included. The supervisor was on the phone for the first 40 mins trying to figure out who was moving the 3 beds 2 dressers. We just moved in and knew this was gonna happen so we didn't put anything I. The rooms yet. Finally they moved the items and started to install the carpet. Unfortunately the job is still not done because Lowe's measured incorrectly so the only room that was not carpeted is my wife's and i's. It's been over a week and they tell us there is no eta on when they will fix the mistake. It sucks walking on a carpet pad only when every other room looks so nice. There is no known time when this job will be done and no one would get back to us about it till yesterday. She said it just got shipped a week after. You would think they would make this go faster. I'm writing to let everyone know the process of getting carpet at Lowe's Roeland Park. After this job we are canceling the hardwoods we were also getting from them. read more

I generally like the Lowe's, that is close to me, in Roeland Park Kansas. Their selection is generally pretty good and they are generally well stocked considering how poorly product is moving due to the corona virus situation. My beef with them is the difficulty in finding an employee when I have a question. They are and have always been way understaffed. When customer service has to call 3 times to get a customer some assistance and the customer has to wait a half hour to 45 minutes it's unacceptable. read more

I ordered a washer and dryer for delivery and installation. They incorrectly set up delivery for the wrong time of day when no one was home the first time, even though I had clearly mentioned the time of day I would be home when it was ordered. To get delivery rescheduled was a nightmare and I waited on the phone for almost an hour to talk to someone who could actually help. When they finally came to deliver it, the delivery guy said we would have to take the door hinges and stair railing off in order to have enough clearance on both sides. This was excessive as it already fit without doing that. We literally took all of that off and he still would not deliver it because "if it gets scratched (he) will have to pay for it." This is totally ridiculous! We literally ripped door hinges out for them because they said they would install it if we did and still they did not! They offered to leave it outside. I had them take it back and got a full refund. I'll take my business elsewhere and will not be shopping here again. read more

Pretty standard as Lowe's go, although I will say the women at the customer service desk and the gentleman in flooring get 4 stars. They were very helpful. That said, some departments take a bit to get help. Even when I put an embellished deer in headlights look, some employees will continue walking without asking if I need help. Maybe my look is too embellished and they think I'm unstable. Anyway, they have the goods here just like any other big box store. I show up at 6am when the doors open, there is a woman facing the doors on the computer.. doesn't greet me nothing. I look around trying to find the paint which why I came in. I stumble on the appliances looking at ovens which I also need. One worker comes in and I tell he was in a hurry to clock, yells out " you are here early" and waves and clocks in. I say " but just looking". I should have waited for him to come out and help because when I did find the paint section, there were 6 workers standing around talking and one worker was helping a woman with her paint . He looked me, never acknowledge me, and kept talking to her. " not a hang on sec," or " i'll be right with you" or " hey let me get someone to help" . Nope. I kept looking paint samples and looked around, not one of them came over to help. I decided to leave and didn't want to go to Home Depot but would since I would get some acknowledgement or response from someone. Before I left, I remembered Lowe's had a sale on Air Fryers until the end of this month. I finally hunt down a worker who didn't walk away or try to hide when yelling for assistance. He didn't know where this item was and had to look it up on his phone. I asked him about coffee makers. He said they didn't have those either. He explained Air Fryers were only around during the holidays and wouldn't have any in store. Okay. Why would Lowe's post that knowing not to have it? I leave and the girl is still sitting at computer facing the door and surprise she tells a man entering the store " hello". Wow. I didn't get that when I walked. You think that a person is there at 6am that person would want to buy and get waited on by workers who want to work. I guess. I won't be back. read more
