We rented a truck from this store to only deliver a tv from Walmart to home and to take a few things to a storage unit before returning the truck. We had the truck for less than two hours and only drove a total of 8 miles. When we returned the truck and Tiffany charged us for a tank of gas saying that we ran it out and when we asked her how we ran out the gas while only going 8 miles she said there was nothing she could do. So what started out as renting for $19 wound up being _$52 and a very rude customer service person. I would highly recommend that this place NOT be used for this service as they are idiots that cannot count and lie to your face. Their solution to "fixing" the problem was to refund $2.50. Yrs you read that right $2.50. Lowe's hardware you guys can stick that "refund" wherever you want to because we will never use you or recommend you again. read more

Here we go again. I never learn my lesson going to Lowe's. I'm always hopeful I'll have a better experience the next time around....but it's always a letdown. I found a battery for my Kobalt lawnmower and the sign next to it indicated it was on sale for $30 off. Sure enough, I got out to the car and the receipt showed full price. Returning to the customer service desk I was told they must have forgotten to take down the sign. "It's no longer on sale." And no apology. When I was in retail in my younger days, we were told to always honor our list prices, even if they were our mistakes. This makes the 4th time I've gone and had an awful experience. Do not use this store at any location for home services - find a reputable local contractor. If you can help it do not use to purchase appliances no matter what deal you think you're getting. Lowe's uses outside contractors for home repair services and delivery and then they don't take responsibility for their failed actions or the inability to install the appliances if and when they are delivered. The reputation of this store has plummeted in my opinion. You would be better off ordering from Amazon. This store is the epitome of societal disfunction. By allowing these large corporations to take over our communities and our honor we have lost common decency. If they could, I am sure their store front employees would be replaced with outsourcing or AI. read more

The review is a compliment to the "Customer Care Service" and the employees representing that service. My wife and I recently (Sept. 5th-10th, 2024) purchased a new Samsung Washer and Dryer from Lowe's in Leland, NC. We could not have been more pleased with the assistance that we received from Robin in the appliance department. She listens, she is courteous and is a wealth of information. She represents Lowe's as if it were her own store. She truly empathized with our concern and did what was needed to address that concern. Our washer and dryer was delivered and we had a problem with the dryer door was out of alignment. She offered a service tech but also told us that we could swap the dryer out for new replacement. We chose the replacement. Lowe's delivery/pick-up/installation employees arrived the next day to pick up the damaged dryer. Donte', the lead employee, looked at the door and asked if I mind if he try to align the door (this way, if he fixed it, we would not have to wait an additional day for the replacement dryer.) Going into the 5th month waiting for completion of a cabinets. Countertop and sink prodject due to incorrect measurements by Lowes and their subcontractor. All we get is lipservice from Lowes and the contractor for why this small prodject is taking so long. We started this in July, here is is going into December and we had to scrap Thanksgiving with family at our home due to no countertop or sink. We wash dishes in the bathroom or at the neighbors. Very disappointed in wasting an hour of my time, but not too surprised. Purchased a Frigidaire refrigerator and attempted to purchase two Pella storm doors and door handles. Doug in appliances was super helpful with the refrigerator. The person in doors was nowhere to be found. The Pella doors were marked down with six stickers of varying prices above the slot where the doors were standing. I loaded up the two that I wanted, 1 black and 1 white and proceeded to checkout. The black door rings up correctly the white door's price didn't match what I thought to be the sticker price. I go back to the door department, again, no one to help and I took pictures of the stickers. The gentleman at the self check (only option available) adjusted the pricing but needed a managers approval. Here comes Luke, it was obvious he was an hour from closing. We go back down to the door department and he informs me that I selected a door that didn't match the price of the slot that it was in, even though I was unable to find assistance on both visits to the department. The adjustment from what I thought the price was and what Luke informed me that the price was equaled $103.00. So I opted not only to not purchase either of the two doors, or handles, I also canceled the refrigerator order. I learned the doors were discounted due to them being discontinued. Luke lost a $2,600 sale over $103.00 and a product that Lowe's is trying to move out of their store. If you're needed a refrigerator, hope that Doug is there and for doors, know what you need in advance because Kayla isn't able to help. read more

I realize I waited too late to pick up a generator so I wasn't expecting much when I went to Lowe's. I walked to the generator section and was met with no fewer than four staff members, all ready to help. Ya'll, they had generators loaded on carts and ready to go. Why is buying appliances so complicated? I purchased a washer/dryer online from this store for my niece. I live in FL. I put her name and ph# on the ticket. Delivery scheduled with her the same day by the store for the next day. Next day comes around and the phone calls start. 1st call sorry but we don't have the washer in stock. It will be next week. Ok fine we are ok with that. Then both her's and my phone starts ringing over and over again. We have a truck on it's way. What's on it we ask? We don't know but can you be home between these times? WTF? Fast forward to this week. Phones blowing up again. Different stores different delivery times. My phone her phone keep ringing. Ridiculous. I call corporate CS. Nothing we can do would you like to talk to the store manager? No wonder this company is shuddering so many stores. Horrible customer service! HORRIBLE! read more

Bad experience from the lackadaisical crew and manager Shak. Crew stands at the front of the store, talking and on their phones. When you ask about an item they look it up on their phone, never offering to show you or help you otherwise. I was interestingly at Home Depot the same day and got an amazing customer service experience. HD employee stopped me as I entered the store "can I help you?" and then walked me to the screen section and talked me through a screen replacement DIY project step by step. At Lowes I was told they were "out of ceiling tiles, not coming until next week." I walked myself to the aisle of interest and found many boxed and unboxed tiles. Having only needed a few, I attempted to buy 4 unboxed tiles (which had a price of 56 cents per sq ft.). I was then told by the crew that I could not buy these individually, and needed to by a $48 case which I did not need. I then spoke (kindly) to the manager Shak. He stood about 15 ft away from me, never coming over to me but talking loudly in my direction (bad form). My case was "you have an open box and I want to buy 4 tiles which have a price." He told me "no" and "what we do with the open box is not your concern." At that point I paid the $205 for my other items and then left the store. I won't be back when a clear cut superior choice sits across the street. Shak and the Lowes crew need to work on their customer service if they want their share of the Monkey Junction market. read more

just now I went to the store looking for electrical fuses. I am standing within 2 feet of the shelving, when a man walks slowly right in front of me, without acknowledging me. Then he bumps into me. He says excuse me. I told him I didn't think so, as there proper thing to do would have been to go around me or ask me to get by. I ask does he work at Lowes, and he says "Yes, my name is Steve if you want to report me". I have been a customer of Lowe's for decades. I'm doing a renovation project in downtown Wilmington. I sent two of the people hired to buy materials for me, with the understanding that I would pay via the phone with my credit card. The Lowe's employee refused to accept ID from the employees and told me that if I wanted to pay with my credit card I needed to show my ID (I'm in Raleigh), and then hung up. The thing is, Lowe's has my personal information because I'm a customer that has been there and have even contracted Lowe's services in the past. This simply amounted to a petty power trip and discrimination on the side of the employee. I also tried to phone the store to complain but nobody cared to answer the phone for over 10 min. On 1/29/2023 we purchased a refrigerator, washer and dryer from the "Monkey Junction " Lowe's. Delivery was scheduled for 2/22/2023. The evening before the items were to be delivered we received a phone call from Lowe's in Southport. The woman calling (I won't use names) told us our washer would not be delivered as they didn't have one in stock. I questioned why the Southport store was call as we purchased the items from the Monkey Junction store and was told the items were coming from the Southport facility. We asked when we could expect the wash machine and was transferred to another woman who said she would check and call us back. (still waiting for that call). The refrigerator and dryer arrived on the 22nd. The refrigerator was damaged and had to be sent back. I then called the Monkey Junction store and asked for a manager. I got one who was helpful saying she would get the information on our washer and when we could expect a replacement fridge. The fridge came three days later and we were told the washer would arrive on 3/1/23 and would be coming out of the Southport store. On the evening of the 28th of February we hadn't heard anything so I called the Southport store and got a woman who told us it would now be delivered on 3/15/2023. When I questioned this she basically told me it had been set up for delivery and sold from under us. I called the Monkey Junction store trying to get the manager who helped me previously but she was gone and I was given to another manager who took the information and said he would call me back. (still waiting for that call) This morning went to Lowe's and canceled the washer and got a refund. Went down the street to Island Appliance ( where I should have gone in the first place) our washer- at a better price- is being delivered Monday. Lowe's used to be a great place to shop. I'm not sure I will shop there anymore even if I have to pay a little more somewhere else. read more

I ordered a washer and dryer from Lowe's on July 4. The delivery people showed up on July 8, loaded our old washer and dryer onto their truck, then realized that they didn't have the correct washer and dryer to install. They apparently delivered it to someone else. So they took off with our old washer and dryer. We called Lowe's and were told that it was a 30 minute to 1 hour wait on hold. The order ended up being cancelled and re-ordered, and a new delivery scheduled for July 13, so we had to take another day off work and wait all day again. This time, they had the washer and dryer, and installed it, but one of the pedestals was defective, so they did not install either pedestal. One of the delivery people brought in the non-defective pedestal, dripping wet from the rain, and asked me where he should put it. I said, in the laundry room. He left in in the foyer saying that the next crew was being paid to take it to the laundry room and install it! The third delivery (of the remaining pedestal) and installation was set for Thursday, July 20. We took off work for a third time to wait for the second pedestal and to have both pedestals installed. The delivery crew dropped off the second pedestal, but said they didn't have time to install it, and that Elvis would be by later to install both of them. We spent an hour on the phone with our local store trying to track down Elvis and our installation. Elvis and his crew finally arrived later in the evening to install the pedestals. read more

I have had such great experiences shopping at this Monkey Junction Lowe's location. I bought a house in Monkey Junction in August 2016, so, needless to say, I had to make many trips over to this store. The staff have always been helpful and friendly. I had brought my Samsung washer and dryer with me from California, purchased at a Lowe's there, but my dryer was having some issues. The staff at Lowe's, especially the assistant manager, Nancy Wigley, were so outstanding, they blew my mind. I went through at least three different brands of washer and dryer before settling on this GE set. (The Samsung washer had actually been fine, but the manager was amenable to my replacing the set in order to have a matching pair.) It was embarrassing having to express discontentment with either a washer dryer that had just been delivered, but Nancy welcomed my feedback--even if it was negative-- and wanted me to be happy with my set. I felt like I could be honest with Nancy. I tried an LG set, but wasn't happy; then Lowe's delivered a Maytag set, but I wasn't happy; and finally this GE set, which is the best of the lot. I was never treated with anything but respect and warmth. I realized I could easily have been considered and treated like "a problem customer", but Nancy was always willing to take the time to help me and make sure I was happy. With this kind of customer service, I can't imagine how anyone can rate this Lowe's with any stars less than five. read more

Tried to have mulch and topsoil delivered- they missed the first delivery date- when they finally showed up, the delivery was incomplete and no one there could tell me why. I spend way too much time on the phone trying to straighten it out, but to no avail. I was put on hold numerous times and transferred to one moron after another. First of all, I hate complaining and I rarely do it. However, this is the second time I've had issues with this store. I went in for the second time this week to get some galvanized steel pipe, but I needed it cut. The first time I waited for 10-15 minutes after they paced someone and no one came, I couldn't wait more so I left. Today I went in and was told the guy in plumbing was on lunch, so come back in 30 minutes because the guy covering for plumbing can't use the cutting machine. I came back in 35 and he was still on lunch. A few minutes later he comes out and tells me he also can't use the cutting machine. I told him I would do it myself and he just walked away. I grabbed a hacksaw and cut the pipes by hand in the aisle. The customer service here is awful, and it's the last time I step foot in this store. read more

October 3 - Monkey Junction Lowe's in Wilmington NC. Bought two refrigerators (Frigidaire 18-Cubic ft $450.00 and Samsung RS25j500 $949.00 plus 5 years extended service plans and ice maker for Frigidaire). Delivery for smaller refrigerator set for October 8. Refrigerator delivered but wrong icemaker sent. Delivery people said they would have someone contact me that day. No one did. I called on Monday to set up delivery. Let the Lowe's employee that delivery would have to be after 4:30 since I work long hours as a public school teacher at an alternative school. I received a call on Tuesday, Oct 10 saying my icemaker would be delivered in about 30 min - at 9:30 am. I explained the situation and told the delivery person I needed it to be delivered after 4:30. Delivery was set up for Thursday, Oct, 12 after 4:30. Thursday, Oct 12 - no one showed up. Received a call around 630 pm from delivery person who said he would like to deliver/install it on Friday evening because he was tired and had already worked 60+ hours. I agreed, although thought it was highly unusual. Friday evening approached, and no phone call from delivery/installer. Call manager of store (Mike), explained situation and he said he would have someone deliver it by noon on Sat. Oct 14. I explained that I needed it as I had a renter moving in that evening, and needed to paint and clean, etc., and have refrigerator plus icemaker installed so that I could get the apartment ready for the tenant. No call from anyone on Saturday morning, so I called store and asked to speak to manager. Jonna (manager) was at lunch and I was told she would call me within the hour. I had to call her back when that didn't happen. Again, explained situation when I spoke to her. She said she would contact delivery/installers and have them contact me. Never happened. They finally showed up around 5 pm. They were told I needed delivery after 4:30 pm. I ONLY NEEDED THAT DURING THE WEEK, and had arranged this delivery for some time before noon, as it was the weekend. During initial delivery of this refrigerator, one delivery guy broke the handles on the refrigerator and didn't bother to fix it. I also told them not to haul it away because I was giving it to a friend. I had to repair the broken handle myself. This is not acceptable. The delivery/installers said they would have the $15 haul away charge taken off. Didn't happen. As if this weren't bad enough, I received a call regarding my Samsung refrigerator TWO DAYS before delivery (set for Oct. 21 originally, but changed to Oct. 28 because I was out of town Oct 21) and said it wouldn't be delivered until at least November 14. Needless to say, I was livid. I spoke to manager named Mike MIlling and let him know that this was unacceptable. He agreed and said he would work on it and get back to me. My refrigerator was finally delivered on Nov 5th. Once again, when delivery/installers took my old refrigerator down the steps, they broke my stair railing and didn't even bother to tell me. They just left the broken piece on my porch and left. I called Mike Milling again and was told to get an estimate and bring it into the store. So now, it was up to me to spend my time finding a repair person, getting an estimate from them, and going into the store. I did this and was refunded for the repair estimate. I left a message with a manager (Theresa?) who said she would give my message to Mike Milling because he was off that day and he told me to speak with him when everything was done. He said that he would personally be handling all of the issues I had been experiencing since October 3. I never heard from him. I called two more times and left messages for Mike Milling to discuss what happened and to see what he suggested. I have never heard from him again. I cannot believe Lowe's treats their loyal customers this way. It's unacceptable and unbelievable. I am hoping someone at a higher level than store manager contacts me to discuss this situation since no one at the store level seems to have any idea how to handle customer support. read more

My mother ( 86 years young) buys a new refrigerator last week Delivery promised, via phone confirmation, between noon and 3:30p yesterday 4 days after purchase. Ok limping by. Then yesterday the old gave up the ghost. Still OK as only need to wait until mid-afternoon. They did not show up on time. OK she was at the back of the truck and quite possibly last delivery. Still no biggie. Now, the biggie! After a rough day for me I stop by to pick up some stuff from her upright freezer and to see the "new" frig. What do I see? I mother in tears, no refrigerator, food all over the counters and coolers. Lowes stated she had copper pipes and she needs a plumber so sorry bye-bye. Wait? What? They made her buy a water hook up kit and should have been able to do something. Well, after talking nicely, for me this was hard if you know me at all when I get fired up, to the manager John about the situation. He said company policy. I asked company policy to leave an 86 year old woman without the refrigerator you could have plugged in and let usdeal with a plumber. Apparently paying almost $2000 for a side by side frig is all they wanted and the customer be damned. So far no response back from said manager to make this right. No delivery expected. S College Rd Lowes in Wilmington may get a nickle and dime purchase from me, but nothing expensive where I have to rely on them. read more

I worked for this company as a seasonal employee and did my best work when working customers loved me and repeatedly came back to see me for things in my short time working there I had already built a small customer base and was still growing as an employee. The reason I didn't get to stay was due to my tardiness due to not having my own vehicle in which they knew. I enjoyed my job and other co workers, I even helped address a major company violation within this store because nobody else wanted to speak up not even a manager who knew about the problem. Not only was my season shortened but it was due to poor communication within the store and lack of compassion from the leadership team ....complete disappointment to see how one of my favorite stores really worked behind the scenes. There are a few great employees there but the managers and lacking supervisors and complete lack of staffing in the first place and all is not great. read more

Had a Black and Decker Trimmer that lasted 5 month and plastic pieces broke letting string out and weed cover. $70 dollar trimmer just wanted to exchange. Both service and the manager both refused to exchange it telling me to go thur Black and Decker!! I have an Advantage Lowes credit card where I have purchased numerous large appliances and exc. and I will be canceling it if I get no feed back on this rude and unprofessional way you treat good customers on broke items without shoving a extended warrant down our throats every time we buy an item! This Hass to be the most unorganized place I have ever seen in my life and no one seems to care. About three weeks ago I went there to order a whole new garage door the guy had a hard time looking it up then when he came up with a price then he pointed over and said then you have to buy the motor he said you're better off going to a garage door company. I called Home Depot it was not only a done deal but 50% cheaper. Three weeks go by my hot water heater breaks when you Google Lowe's you type in what you want the guy called me from corporate told him I wanted a 50 gallon he gave me the price then he told me to call my local Lowe's he was corporate not only did I not get a 50 gallon I got a 40 gallon at a higher price and this was a manager I was talking to I said why is it lower one higher. He said supply and demand. Anyway got it installed it did not work the plumbing company did they use in contract out is very rude and don't seem to know what they're doing. They put another one in and said there's nothing to it it should work it Hass to be your wire even though I was getting 240 V out of it. So I hired an electrician. He put it in a new wire And said he was getting 240 out of it and there's no reason the hot water heater should not work so I called Lowes back and they just wanted to confirm that it was broke and I said yes and told him what happened 20 minutes later the plumbing company called me and said they would be there the next day between three and five I had to rearrange my route to be home. Plumbing company called me at noon and said he was running behind that he can't show up today and I said I have a lot to do to move people around to make this happen he asked if they can come tomorrow to put a new one in between three and five. I said I don't have a choice I need hot water he said he would make it happen if he had to put it in his self. So the plumber show up at 2:30 luckily I was home he came in I said where is the hot water heater he says I'm not supposed to put one in I'm just supposed to check it. He checked the top heating element that was it! He turned around and started to leave I said where are you going it's still not working he said that's all I can do. 15 minutes later corporate Lowes called me they said there's nothing they can do call another plumber they told me I said they already told me to call an electrician that I paid for now I have to call a plumber? The plumber you contract with just left I would've gladly paid extra. I could go on but that's enough you probably already know how bad Lowe's is from going in the store which I will never do again read more

Had a terrible experience at customer service. Blond girl with glasses told me i couldnt order brick pavers at the service counter, She said you have to go to the department which sells brick pavers. I asked what that dept would be, garden or lumber and masonary area, she didn't know. She walks away asks sombody else and then walks away and doesn't come back. After standing there 10 minutes the manager tells me they called garden and someones coming. After waiting another 15 minutes they call the garden department again, they didn't show because they thought I was coming there. Two ladies show up from garden but cn't place the order, they're not sure why but tell me to go down to the lumber area desk and ask them. At this point I think I'm on Candid Camera, this can't be happening. The guys at the lumber area put in the productnumbers I gave them and it was done. I buy allot of stuff from Lowes and I can't believe that management at Lowes would let these people work with customers. It scares me they drive cars. read more

Buyer beware! In September of 2017 I contracted with the Monkey Junction Lowe's store to have a whole kitchen replacement. The Project Specialist prepared the contract with a projected timeline for completion of five weeks from date of cabinet delivery. After paying the $25,000-plus bill, the cabinets were delivered to my house on November 9th, 2017. But here it is January 11th, 2018, the middle of week eight, and the kitchen is only half completed. There is no countertop, no backsplash, no installed appliances, no plumbing hook-up, no cabinet pulls, no cabinet baseboards. The kitchen is a fairly small kitchen and the same footprint of the old kitchen is being used. It is outrageous that this kitchen remodel should take this long, especially after paying Lowe's 25K for the job. I was given the name and phone number of a Lowe's representative, a "point of contact," should any questions arise. But the times I phoned him, he was "out of the office." I feel that I am the one who has to coordinate the project because I am getting no help from Lowe's, even after paying them 25K. I have not been given any date as to when I will once again have a functioning kitchen. My advice: Sop around! A frustrated and disgruntled customer. read more

i have always.enjoyed shopping at different Lowes in the US, with no negative experiences until yesterday at the South College Rd location. I a have shopped at various Lowes throughout the US due to frequent moves as a Servicemember answer am extremely disappointed in an experience at Lowes home improvement on 17 Sept 2016. I purchased a Troybilt TRIMMER for 199.00 which included a free attached per the instructions store promotion posted in the garden equipment section. During the process of paying for my items I asked the cashier three separate times along with his colleague who was assisting him if the 67.00 for the free attachment was deducted from the final price, the associate showed me on the computer screen that the charge for the item ALONG with a 10% military discount was deducted. When I used my credit card to complete the transaction I was not convinced the final bill reflected the correct price so I ASKED the associate to explain each charge and sure enough the trimmer attachment was never deducted. Naturally this bothered me because I have an advanced degree in Finance and tried to ensure throughout the process that Lowe's honored their advertisement and yet did not. I spent an extra 20 minutes getting a refund on an item I should have never been charged for in the first PLACE. I REQUESTED to speak with a Manager who told me the associate fixed the error so what else did I want him to DO. I asked him how many other Consumers who are not as judicial as some didn't catch the overcharge and why after I objected to the final receipt three times the price was not adjusted until after I paid with my credit card and had the associate explain line by line each charged to show him the 67.00 was deducted. One of the moments that disturbed me was the assistant manager's response that Lowe's makes hundreds of Illinois of dollars and would not try to rip someone off of 67.00. REALLY, ... please train some of your managers better....will never return to this location AGAIN, on the positive side I had an absolutely amazing experience at a SC Lowe's store purchasing May tag Washer and DRYER .
