I purchased a sleeper style sectional last year from the Brick on Regent and purchased the…read moreprotection plan they offer with it. I made a warrant claim, as the couch was defective and falling apart. Despite them advertising that they would cover 100% of the cost when purchased, they only provided me with 70% of cost. I wasn't thrilled but it wasn't the end of the world. I then decided to purchase a love-seat recliner from a salesperson named Chris. Everything seemed pretty straightforward with the purchase at the time. I got a call a couple of weeks after purchase confirming that delivery would be on a specific date. Due to my work schedule, I had to book off the entire day in order to be home. I get a call after the purchase asking if I'd like to buy warranty on the couch, and I agree. I go back in to the store and meet with Chris, who helps me with the purchase of the warranty. Right as I purchase the warranty, he says he might have made a mistake on the delivery. I clarify what that means, and he says to not worry about it as he will fix it, and it's just a technical problem. I confirm with him that I should still expect delivery on the agreed upon date and he says yes. Fast forward to the day before the expected delivery, I receive a call from the Brick, asking what day I'd like to have delivery on. I told them that it was already confirmed for tomorrow, but they tell me that Chris cancelled the delivery date when I came in to purchase the warranty. I asked to speak with Chris who just continued to dodge my questions and told me I have to book a new date. I asked to speak with the manager, Steve, who was also unprofessional and just kept telling me that Chris told me previously that he changed the delivery date (which was incorrect). When I told him how frustrating it was that I took a day off work for nothing, he told me that I got the couch on sale so I should just be happy with what I'm getting. Not only was it beyond frustrating to have my delivery date moved for no reason, and not being told about it until the day before, I was also extremely disappointed with how Chris and Steve dealt with it. I've shopped at the Brick on Kenaston and bought about four different types of furniture from them. Every purchase from the Brick on Kenaston was seamless, and the staff were super easy to deal with, however this is my first interaction with the Brick on Regent, and I am beyond frustrated. I will never come back here again, and will continue to never recommend anyone to shop here.

WARNING: AVOID AT ALL COSTS - DISHONEST & UNETHICAL…read more Rating: 0/5 Stars Express Appliance Repair is engaging in what I consider to be predatory and deceptive business practices. Do not trust them with your money or your appliances. The Experience: My Whirlpool washer had a clear suspension issue (OFB error) which caused the machine to shake so violently it broke the lid. Their technician charged me nearly $800--the price of a brand-new machine--claiming a lid replacement would fix the problem. It didn't. The machine continued to shake because the root cause (the suspension) was never addressed. The "Warranty" Scam: When I reported the ongoing issue WITHIN the warranty period, they sent the same technician who admitted the suspension was faulty and demanded another $400. When I questioned why this wasn't diagnosed initially (since the broken lid was a direct symptom of the suspension failure), they became hostile. Management Malpractice: The Manager is incredibly rude and lacks basic professional ethics. She flatly refused to acknowledge that the lid broke because of the suspension, treating them as unrelated issues to justify double-charging for labor and parts. Despite their own technician admitting the actual problem was never fixed, they are now trying to recharge me for labor again. The Bottom Line: They will misdiagnose your machine, take your money for "repairs" that don't work, and then hide behind technicalities to extort more cash once they've already dismantled your appliance. They have no integrity, their "warranty" is worthless, and their management is a nightmare to deal with. SAVE YOUR MONEY. BUY A NEW MACHINE INSTEAD OF DEALING WITH THESE CHEATS. I may complain to BBB about them.

Wrong Diagnosis, Extra Charges, and No Installation. Express Appliance Repair Winnipeg…read more I contacted Express Appliance Repair to repair my microwave. During the first visit, the technician said the problem was with the internal electrical panel of the microwave and not the wall outlet. He said replacing the panel would be very expensive and that, due to the age of the appliance, it made more sense to buy a new microwave. I paid for this diagnostic visit. Based on this diagnosis, I purchased a new microwave and scheduled a second visit for installation. I was quoted $250 and told the cost was high because the work involved electrical work that needed to be up to code. When the technician arrived, he said it would cost more to remove the old microwave from the wall. This extra charge was not discussed in advance. No electrical work was done. The microwave was never installed or put on the wall. No repair or installation was completed, and my kitchen was left in a mess. I was charged $200 in service fees. After they left, I discovered the real issue was the power outlet, not the microwave. My old microwave still works. I paid $200 for a misdiagnosis, wasted time, and spent about $400 on a new microwave I did not need. I would not recommend this company.
