Owner is just rude and unhelpful. I had to speak first, the customer service was absolutely awful. I go into the store and ask about their free inspection, and he just completely blows me off. Tells me that he'll have to see if he can fit me in the next day for an inspection, even though there was no one at the shop when I went. So he intentionally just did not want to help me. If I could rate this place a negative 10 I would. Run. Smooth talking con. Broke down while travelling..paid for crap that appears didnt even need to be fixed..they installed a shifter near steering wheel because overdrive button didnt work..guess what?? It still doesnt work. Spent 4 days at a hotel. They rebuilt transmission (or said they did). Pickup truck on empty (it was full prior) Truck still doesnt work after transmission rebuild. Broke down 2 hrs after leaving the shop with same problem as before...they had truck towed back to shop n claimed it was something else..then tried to charge me for towing. Said I would need to stay at hotel another day while they diagnose n fix "new problem". At this point I cant stay any longer as there was a death in the family..left the truck with them for over a week. They have diagnosed the truck and fixed yet who knows what and truck supposed to be ready to go yesterday. I arrive from Kentucky to pick up and they havent even started!!!!! AND brand new tire is flat to the ground AND gas tank on empty AGAIN. After calling police to file a report on this scammer...he hurried to "fix" this new do called problem with the catalytic converters. Well...Guess where I am today?? BROKE DOWN LAST NIGHT AGAIN..STAYED IN A HOTEL..AND HAVING TO CALL SOMEONE TO TOW IT BACK TO KENTUCKY. Oh! Now break lights..turn signals..ect also dont work AND engine light is on on TOP of all the same symptoms I originally brought the truck in for!!!! To you sir if you read this..this is a horrible horrible way to treat people. I am a pretty passive person..often end up letting people walk all over me..the fact that your deceit was so obvious to me and cruel that I was able to stand up for myself says a lot! You were paid to diagnose n fix my truck so I could get home. I will be voicing my review and opinion on every site I can find until you do the right thing and refund me or until the shop I have it at now finishes their findings n I present them to an attorney. Heed this warning everyone...take your car elsewhere. I wouldnt go back to that shop to put air in a bike tire!!! read more

He made my wife pay cash for transmission repair (4000) and the car had a big dent on the side. He said the damage was not his responsibility even though it was on his lot for a month. He was super arrogant about the whole situation. I will take him to court. Do not use this business!!! read more

When your car breaks down on the interstate in the rain, one never knows where to turn. This shop was super accommodating, they towed my car from another shop who didn't do this type of work. Mike and his staff diagnosed the problem and got the part ordered. He tried finding one locally, to no avail. It arrived early the next morning. When a woman goes to a garage, it can go south in a hurry. I had no such experience here. He even had an employee pick me up and deliver me to retrieve my car. I am happily back on the road. After the disappointing experience I had with another local transmission company, I brought my (still) ruined car to these jokers. Worst mistake of my life. For what they charged me, I could have bought another car. Instead, I had a car that ran just long enough to get outside their short warranty period before having the same exact problem. I take it to yet another transmission repair shop where I'm told that the NEW transmission they charged me for was NOT new and needed to either be replaced or rebuilt. Now, all of this did happen a number of years ago, but from everything I've heard and seen since, these con artists haven't changed one lick. I'm not even going to get into the way they treated me on a more personal level (Like being a woman made me a moron. They were right, though. I was stupid enough to trust them. I just got very 'lucky' I broke down on I-75 and ended up at Lowndes County Tranny despite some reviews that must have been posted by friends of the competition! I just had an experience working with Mike and his shop Lowndes County Transmission I'd like everyone to know about. I had let Mike and his shop rebuild my 4wd transfer case that quit working for me. The rebuilt box started making noise within a couple months after I got it back, but I ignored it because I never use 4wd. A couple months before today, I needed 4wd, and it didn't work for me. I finally took it apart and found out Mike's shop didn't rebuild my transfer case right. They left off the seal for the oil pump and the clip that holds a chain sprocket in place. That means the oil pump didn't work right and the gear could move around and grind into the side of the case, which was the noise I was hearing. I called Mike and he seemed interested in it. The next day we setup an appointment for him to look it over. I brought the box to him at the time we agreed on but to quote Mike "I can't shut down my whole shop just to work on your stuff." We went back and forth on this a while before I realized he had no intention of looking over his work at all. He wanted me to leave it there so he could rack up a bill and hold it hostage. Being out of my warranty period, I was not looking for a new box; was not looking for free work. But I had expected him to take a look and determine for himself whether those missing parts lead to the damaged box or if it was just normal wear and tear. He let me down and sent me away. You might think I wasted a day on that 6 hour drive, but there is no such thing as wasted time. There is something to be learned from every experience in your life. Look at this as a test of integrity. His technicians clearly do not know how to rebuild something as simple as a transfer case. Sending me on that 6hr trip to scam me into another rebuild shows Mike doesn't have a shread of moral fiber. He didn't even bat an eye when I brought up the possibility of a complaint to small claims. I have no doubt hes been down that path before. I'm seeing a pattern between him "forgetting" he agreed to look over his work today and his shop "forgetting" to install all the parts when they rebuilt my transfer case the first time. As the saying goes- A man is only as good as his word. Mike, I wish you luck in all your future endeavors, but for the sake of your current or prospective customers, I hope that doesn't involve anything in the automotive industry. read more

I do not recommend anyone to go here. The owner is so disrespectful and very dishonest to people about what kind of work needs to be done. Then they change what they said the work they was going to do to something else after the fact. They then try to charge you for it after you told them no to do the work on your vehicle. Please stay away from them. I recommend you go to Valdosta Transmission a very good honest shop. Also check google reviews and you will see more horrible reviews. read more
