My first experience with Loxx began nearly a year ago. I moved here from Sourh Florida. I came to see Tracy Cunningham based on a recommendation from a dear friend of mine. I was scared to death to see a new colorist because I had my former hair dresser for well over 10 years and coming to a small country town versus south Florida made me have reservations about the ability of hairdressers here to begin with. Well, from the moment I walked in to Loxx Salon I felt at home. Tracy has the most remarkable ability to make a stranger feel completely at ease and comfortable. Everyone here was kind, friendly, helpful, and just all around awesome. My hair color was amazing. She did a better job than that of my stylist from home. I was so impressed I couldn't wait to come back. Tracy not only does my roots but she highlights and sometimes low lights my hair as well. I had so many compliments on the color of my hair after Tracy did it, I was elated. Needless to say I started using Tracy on a routine basis. I have never been disappointed once. I also use Loxx salon for facials from Brandon and Joanie as well as waxing. I use Beth for eyelashes and manicures and pedicures. They all rock! I love the way Tracy doesn't just hire a new stylist and then "cut them loose" so to speak. When she hires a new stylist she makes them shadow her or act as an apprenticeship of sorts. I LOVE THAT SHE DOES THAT. She makes sure the stylist has the knowledge and expedite needed before they become independent in Loxx Salon. I have seen how thorough Tracy is when she is working with a new stylist and I would be completely comfortable if one of the new stylists had to color my hair if Tracy weren't available simply because I know the training Tracy provides them with is awesome. They also offer beverages complimentary. The beverage choices range from coffee to wine. I would without any reservation recommend Loxx Salon to everyone. I frequent Loxx Salon on a biweekly basis simply because of all the services I elect for the to provide me with. I love this place and each and every person that works here. I love coming here and really appreciate how sweet and kind everyone is. I also love how safe everyone is with the pandemic. Nancy (or Fancy Nancy as we often call her because she makes us feel fancy) is wonderful and always makes me smile. I've been going to her for 8 years now and love her and followed her to Loxx when she started. As she has worked longer and gotten more training and certifications, her prices have gone up. However, I budget that in and find it well worth it, so I don't have to wonder, "Is this the month I'm getting a good or bad cut?" I have only ever seen Nancy and only gotten my hair done there, so I can't comment on the other services. She always listens, looks at pictures I bring in and then tells me if I pick a picture that my hair won't do because of texture or fullness. I have referred multiple people to her, and they have a discount system for referrals which is fun! However, I'd refer people anyway because she does such a good job listening to what the client wants. As for the salon: nice bathrooms right near the front, good job with text and email reminders, and they occasionally give away chocolate as part of a drawing for discounts and other fun stuff. The only negative I would say is that their current location is wide open in the 'hair area,' which is probably ideal for them. Still, it makes acoustics and hearing difficult when multiple hairdryers are running, and it's busy with lots of people talking. read more

I really enjoyed my first experience at the salon! I'm one of those people who like to form a relationship and do business with the same person every time when it comes to my hair, doctors, or just about any business. Loxx has become my new forever home for my hair business. I've only had 5 people my hair before, but Shannon Gambrell did a fantastic job. I have been trying to grow my hair out, but she recommended a style that would perfectly match my features as well as my professional look for my business. I am beyond satisfied with my new style! Shannon took the time to show me a picture of the style and made sure that my comfort through the process was at the top of her list. The atmosphere of the salon is fun and exciting as well as equally professional! All the employees were friendly and made me truly feel like family! I had my first appt. at Loxx, yesterday. I was given a tour of the building and told of all the different services they provide. The complimentary head and neck massage before heading to the shampoo bowl was unexpected and so relaxing. I saw Tracey and wanted her advice on coloring. I am trying to grow my grey out and was wondering about grey coloring to take away the dye line and dark hair. Tracey could have did what I was asking about and made a good amount of money, and I think a lot of hair dressers would have. But Tracey gave me the honest truth about the idea causing more issues and the advice to continue to just let it grow naturally. She gave me a great trim bringing my hair back to good health. Five stars for Loxx. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. I look forward to going back. read more

Nancy Engeloff has been my hair cuts, color, Brazilian blow outs at Loxx's for years. She is the BEST!! Never offers a product or service that I don't need even if it is scheduled. My last appointment had to be cancelled at the last minute due to a family emergency. Nancy and Molly went above and beyond to reschedule me the next day. I also go to Loxx any time I need a manicure, pedicure, facial or eye brow waxing. All services have been TOP NOTCH! Everyone is so friendly, they remember my name, always offer me a glass of wine or soda or water to drink. Even going across the street to the vending machine to get me a Coke when they were out. The Aveda products are awesome. My hair color lasts so much longer and doesn't fade in the summer sun. I highly recommend Loxx to anyone. read more

Yesterday was my wedding day and I couldn't have been more appreciative for the experience I received at Loxx! I spent 5 hours there and they were amazing! Alex did my pedi, mani gel with ombré nails ( I think is what it's called) and makeup. Nancy did my hair and I was so worried the curls wouldn't hold up. Happy to report its morning and those beautiful curls are still holding strong! I'm the type that always changes things when I leave the salon but this time not a curl was touched or additional makeup reapplied ( minus the extra lip coverage Alex provided). I've been going to Loxx Salon for two years, and Shannon has been cutting my hair during that time. She always did a great job. My hair is very thick and hard to manage, but she gave me really good advice on how it should be styled. I was very pleased with her work, especially since I've been to dozens of stylists in other places and she was one of the only ones who knew how to take care of it. Shannon and everyone at the salon were very nice and friendly. I'm moving out of Cookeville and unfortunately she won't be able to cut my hair anymore, but if and when I come back here, I'll definitely make an appointment with Shannon. I strongly recommend her and Loxx Salon as a whole to everyone. read more

Loxx goes all out to protect clients and staff, including temp checks, requiring facial protection, and frequent cleaning, but I'm a pandemic weenie and still uncomfortable being less than 6 feet apart indoors, with others, for more than 10 minutes. So what did they do to accommodate me? Gave me a trim outdoors under a covered roof, complete with masks. Thank you, Molly, for considering the request; thank you, Nancy, for a great trim in the open-air track-side; and thank you, Laura, for going back and forth to take care of payment and tip so I didn't need to go indoors. This was my first time visiting and I was absolutely thrilled with my experience! The massage before the wash and the wash itself was so nice and relaxing. The stylist, Morgan, met with me and discussed my challenges and wishes for my cut. It was fantastic. She knew just what I needed and took her time with my cut and style. Her conversation was awesome and I felt comfortable and relaxed the whole time. I will definitely be back again. Already scheduled my next cut and planning on taking my daughter in next week! Price point is definitely that of a high class salon but I'm more than willing to pay for wonderful service like this! read more

Absolutely LOVE this salon! As soon as I walk in I feel very welcomed and appreciated. Molly is always asking me if I would like a snack or a water, one time she even offered to go to Subway for me because I was so hungry. I have never experienced that type of service before anywhere else. Shannon is amazing! When I go in to get my hair done I never really know what I want lol so I show her pictures off of Pinterest and she nails it every time. I'm also trying to grow my hair longer and keep it healthy and Shannon is always giving me tips and tricks to achieve my goal. Will never go to another salon! Loxx has me forever! read more

Absolutely love Loxx! I've been going to Loxx for years, and can't imagine going anywhere else. When I first went to Loxx, my hair was a hot mess. I had, had a mishap with another salon butchering my color and needed help. Nancy corrected my color skillfully and responsibly, keeping the integrity of hair health in mind. When you work with professionals, it shows. I love that Loxx is an Aveda salon working with more natural ingredients, practicing cruelty-free beauty, and using more environmentally-conscious practices. Excellent salon offering many hair, face and nail services. I have visited Loxx for more than 3 years and love the service I receive from the reception to my stylist Nancy! Nancy is always happy to give me advice on products and styling. She was able to help me learn how to style my own hair for my out of country wedding! Nancy has been doing my hair for about a year and a half and is absolutely amazing. She is very professional and puts you at ease. You can tell that she loves what she does and makes sure that you are 100% satisfied before you leave. I would highly recommend her, but from what I have seen I think you'd be in good hands with any of their stylists. The salon's atmosphere is great and everyone is so friendly. Nancy does my hair and she is incredible. She starts with a back/neck/shoulder massage then shampoos your hair, adding a scalp massage. It's a little bit more than what I've paid to get my hair done in the past, but I think it's definitely worth it. Treat yo self, ya know? I'm also shy and I don't feel awkward at all with Nancy.
