Okay. A little late to the party but we did it! We tried Lozano's tonight. Omg. The best margaritas. We tried the top shelf and the house. We both actually preferred the house margarita. And took a gallon to go! Jose Lozano is an impeccable host. We took our food to go. That ceviche is EVERYTHING! And yummy salsa too. Hubby had enchiladas and said they were great. And the best refined beans he's ever had. And he hates beans. We are so proud of Jose for opening. We knew him from Alicias. And Lozano food and service tops every other Mexican place we've been to. Give them a try! You won't be disappointed. read more

Food was alright but the service was trash. Waiter ruined the whole experience for us. First, she seemed to be in a rush to get our order. Very disappointed with the food. We expected something better as we saw good reviews. We ordered 3 dishes. Overall food was just ok but the three of them were very small portions. The sides in each dish was laughably small!! The pico de gallo eas like 1 tsp portion, the guacamole in another dish was same thing, like 1 tsp. I should have taken a picture. my family has been coming to Jose and his family for years for fantastic food. my fave are the tacos al carbon...good god those tortillas. i no longer live in Katy so it's an essential stop every visit. the margaritas are especially delish too and will def on the stronger side. in the best way. cheers! read more

I knew the Owner, Leo when he managed another restaurant so we gave it a try today. Right off the bat the salsa was beyond fresh, the chips were thin and crisp. The queso was full of flavor. We both ordered the Tex-Mex tacos, another hit the beef was full of flavor and very tender. The refried beans were top notch and were made from imported beans and had a deep rich brown color. But the killer was the top shelf margarita! Beyond smooth, it had zero bite and was made fresh from scratch, no premixed stuff here. I've been in commercial construction for over 30 yrs and I have a keen eye on how things are built. Leo did a tremendous job picking finishes that will stand the test of time. The walls behind the bar were covered with a interesting and stylish FRP material (something that can always be cleaned and look new), the half walls separating the rows of booths were covered in a stylish wood grain porcelain tile that matched the seats, again a very durable finish and the rest of the wall surfaces were were stacked stone, again will NEVER look old and dingy. I agree with the one star rating. If I could give less I would. Not sure why some are giving high ratings. I had the queso for appetizer. It was very plain with no taste. I ordered the shrimp fajitas. It was truly the worst I have ever had. The shrimp was not fried. It looked like it was boiled. It was very rubbery. Salsa was clearly fresh made and quite good. However chips though not greasy tasted as if turning stale. Lozanos is hands down my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Katy/Houston area. The food tastes freshly made and we always order the spiciest salsa they have, which makes the experience even better. I have not had fresh and amazing tasting salsa like Lozanos anywhere else! The service is always on point along with the food. Stopped by for lunch today and it was a treat! Chips and salsa were fresh and the salsa was original and very flavorful. Not too hot either! Owner was on premise and waiting on customers as well as checking on quality. The cheese enchiladas with chili gravy were spot on for this San Antonio girl! I'm so glad someone told me about this place. Decorated in a clean inviting style. The staff were wearing masks, which I appreciated and the tables were clean. Diners were spaced out throughout the restaurant to assure social distancing. The margaritas were excellent! And I am particular about margaritas! The fajitas were some of the best I have ever had. The chicken and shrimp with red poblano cream sauce was cooked to perfection. Moist, juicy breast, not dry or bland. And the tortillas! Definitely homemade, dinner plate sized with great flavor and wafer thin. I could eat the tortillas by themselves they were that good. But with the fajitas and extras...it was the perfect bite! Portions were good sized, great value for the money. The queso was good, could have used a little more spice but we were able to remedy that by adding some of their made in house salsa. Everything was made fresh and with love. The Owner went out of his way to make sure every guest was satisfied with their meal. Will definitely be going back! read more

FANTASTIC!!! This was our second visit only because the first left such a great impression and cravings for more The place is spotless and the staff are so polite and attentive. We are impressed by the freshness of food and I must add the taste is sooo authentic and absolutely mouth watering. Our 2 picky kids cant get enough of the chips and the fresh salsa. I'm impressed by the gentleman, who I believe to be the owner, remembered my request for a hotter salsa from our previous visit and prepared me a salsa of the perfect heat level The kids had the chicken quesadilla, in-laws shared a huge portion of perfectly flavored chicken fajitas with mouth melting tortillas, husband tried the crunchy beef tacos which he claims were well seasoned and I thoroughly enjoyed my chicken enchiladas with tomatillo sauce... The chicken I must add is clean white meat which is very important for me. Im glad we now have a definite go to place which is great tasting and very reasonably priced. It was a great touch that they offered the kids icecream at the end. Thank you for making these quarantine times a little more enjoyable!!! After all of the amazing reviews we saw on Katy/Ft Bend Foodies Facebook page, my boyfriend and I decided to give this place a chance, even though we have a "regular Mexican spot" that we frequent. Let's just say we were thoroughly impressed!! The waitstaff was friendly and stayed on top of refills. The owner was out and about the entire time checking on everyone in the restaurant and he even brought us a sample of the beef fajita meat out of the blue. It was SO FULL of flavor and tender that it caused us to completely change our order!! The margaritas were delicious! The only thing that could use improvement is the queso; however, we read another review that suggested dumping the salsa in it and that totally did the trick! I had the worse customer service ever here. It was my first time and was just me dining alone. I saw pictures posted online and it seemed like a good local place to try. I arrived at 7:30pm. Not smack in the middle of dinner time. Restaurant had diners but was not packed. There were plenty of tables but they were all stacked with dirty dishes. I waited about 5 minutes before anyone noticed to even greet me. Then waited another 5 minutes for them to clear a table. Waited 10 minutes before someone approached to ask if I wanted anything to drink. By then I knew my order so placed it. 25 minutes went by. My server was Vanessa and she didn't check on me once. I had to catch her attention after 25 min to ask how long it takes. Her attitude and reply was indifferent saying "The kitchen is backed up and I don't know how long it takes and there's nothing I can do." Seriously?? How about you apologize it's taking so long and tell me you're young to go check? 5 minutes later she brings me my meal. I immediately ask for the check because I didn't want to have to wait later for it. Somehow she had no problem bringing that immediately. I put my credit card with the bill in the edge of the table while I ate. I was done in 15 minutes. The meal was subpar and by then I didn't even enjoy it to finish it. Had to grab Vanessa again as she walked by because she had no intention of checking on me or processing my bill. It was a disgusting experience and I'm going to use every opportunity to tell me Katy friends and neighbors what a terrible place this is. read more
