I met a friend here for drinks & when we got here around 5pm on a Friday l, it was pretty quiet & we got seated right away. By the time we left closet to 8, there was a wait outside & the entire place was buzzing! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Mostly families with just a few couples at the bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was nice, I felt very safe & loved the music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was good, I ordered the Fajita quesadillas & I enjoyed them. My friend got the shrimp & bacon & she also liked them. Service was fast until it got crowded. The drinks were just okay. I was hoping for more fancy margaritas. Staff were all very friendly & helpful.

First and foremost I want to give a huge shout out to Leon. He has to be the greatest waiter that I have had. Anyone who has a party of 15 plus you are going to want him as your waiter. The food was great and the staff was exceptional. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I am so glad that I had the chance to celebrate my parents' birthday here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Even with all separate checks, we had a smooth and carefree time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great mexican ambience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommended for some awesome mexican food with awesome service to follow.

We love El Tiempo when we come to Houston! Their waitstaff is friendly and attentive, they have locations in several parts of town, and their queso is YUMMY!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's got a good Mexican restaurant atmosphere whether you are inside or, in our case, on the heated/cooled patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We really like the warm red salsa and the refreshing verde salsa, in addition to being a sucker for their queso. Their portions are very generous, so don't TOTALLY fill up on chips! And if you do, just remember that to-go box!

We went back the next weekend we liked it so much! The chicken a la rana!!! I always have enough for lunch the next day, and its so tender, tons of serrano peppers! Its so good. So they have 2 types of rice: green and yellow as the kids call it. Both were great. The refried black beans hit the spot! Salsas are fresh and addicting. Margaritas need some work. The regular one just taste like margarita mix. But I did try some new specialty one, that i dont remember the name of, it had amaretto and a cinnamon sugar rim and was a great dessert cocktail. One of the best cheese enchiladas I have had in a while. They all start to taste the same after a while so it was nice to have a more meaty chili gravy. My husbands beef fajita meat was very tender, and they have good fresh tortillas. Def recommend! We will return for sure!

Okay so I went here on a Sunday trying to spend some alone time with myself. And I ordered a piña colada and beef fajita enchiladas. I underestimated them with the enchiladas. I ordered too when I should've just ordered one. It took me lunch and dinner to eat the last enchilada. They are so big !!! no wonder two was $32. Now with the piña colada, it was good but whatever liquor I used in that it gave me the worst headache made me very sleepy. I don't know. It just made me feel weird. The refried beans was good. It looked very seasoned and the yellow Mexican rice is good as well. The bartender was nice and sweet.

    Brisket nachos. Oh yahhhhhh

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is Tex Mex at its best. and it hits the 3 G mark. Great food, Great service and Great atmosphere[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. As the son of legendary Ninfa , you have high expectations of their food. And they deliver. Huge menu. Creative and tastey! Enchiladas are spectacular. Try the brisket enchiladas. Guac is very good. -- foodie tip Sprinkle their special salsa on top. Delish!!! Their flameado dip is just fun!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is colorfully decorated with great Mexican music playing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Really just a home rrun!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The first time we ate there, the service was fantastic. We requested that same server the next two times and the hostess both times told us he was busy, or already had too many tables. Not good customer service. So we sat at the bar where we were completely ignored. I grabbed someone's attention finally and asked to order and pay at the same time so we could just leave. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was early and the bar wasn't full at all so not sure what happened there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The other time, they were crazy busy, so everything was slow and I don't even know who our server was. But the first time, we had Leo, and he was fantastic! He was attentive, made excellent recommendations, the food was delicious! The salsa and drinks kept coming. Was a great date night.

This place is huge and can hold a lot of people, but I appreciate that they're not trying to cram as much people in as possible. There is ample spacing between tables and walk ways. Although it was busy, we did not wait long at all. Even the food that we ordered came out pretty quickly! We ordered the chicken fajitas for two and regular size queso. The chicken fajitas for two was enough to feed my husband, me, and our two little boys. The tortillas were sooo good! The queso was decent. It's pretty expensive for the portion that you get. I thought the fajitas were alright as well. It was good, but I still wanted to dip it into something. I believe that a good fajita doesn't require any extra sauce. haha We also got the sopapillas for dessert and it was alright as well. Overall, I would rate the food as a 3.5 or 4 out of 5. However, the main reason why I gave a 5 star is because we had an AMAZING waitress. Her name is Sarah and LET - ME - TELL - YOU -ABOUT - HER. Sarah was literally smiling and cheery the ENTIRE time. She was not only like that when she was serving us, but she was even walking around like that. She was polite, friendly, patient, respectful, and just a delight to interact with. She was on top of things, too! We never had to ask her to refill anything because she automatically did it. I also love how she placed our dishes on the table. It was symmetrical and esthetic. The restaurant was also super loud but once when she was walking away and I called out her name, SHE HEARD ME. She was very attentive. Seriously, she was awesome. Come to Gringo's, not for the food, but for Sarah! lol

His service was timely, and his friendliness was wonderful. We have the fajitas which were not only an apple serving, but the beef chicken and shrimp were all very flavorful. The beef fajitas were flavorful just as I'd hoped but the chicken was a bit dry. With the order we each get our own plate of rice and beans and choice of tortillas. The flour tortillas were delicious, almost like home made, so much so that I took the leftovers tortillas home to enjoy with butter. The highlight for me was the Skinny Margarita with my customization of adding a shot of Amaretto. I've been disappointed at other places because they never taste fresh, or have an extremely tart flavor, but the bartender had it down to a science because when I tell you from my first sip it was like heaven! In addition to the above facts, my toddler ate a bit off my plate Saturday/Sunday and exhibited symptoms similar to mine. On Monday, June 30th at 9:04am, I called to share my experience with the staff. To be clear, my intention in calling was not to leave a negative review, but simply to bring the matter to the restaurant's attention - privately. Unfortunately, the owner, Albert, was defensive throughout the call. He said things like, "I don't doubt that happened, but we've never had a complaint," and dismissed my experience rather than showing concern. I explained I wasn't calling to leave a bad review but to make them aware. But alas, here we are.
