FRAUD ALERT - DO NOT HIRE ALVAREZ HANDYMAN…read more I hired Charlie Alvarez (Alvarez Handyman) for roof repair, quoted at $750 to replace flashing, tar paper, shingles, and fascia. -- He claimed the job was complete and sent an invoice describing "fascia replacement, roofing paper, Henry's seal, shingles, trim, and paint." -- He sent angled photos to make it look like repairs were done. -- In reality: **no new shingles, no tar paper, no Henry's seal, and the fascia was left worse than before** -- with gaps and improper angles. When I confronted him: -- He blamed "his guys" and promised to fix it himself. -- Days later, he showed up late and performed a **sloppy, unsafe patch job** -- dozens of nail holes in flashing, a poorly cut eave, and brad nails holding it together. -- I demanded a refund, but he stalled, claiming he needed money back from his subcontractor. To make matters worse, his invoice lists a **fake contractor license number** ("VAT Reg No: Lic#lc20190386"). No valid license exists. This is **fraudulent misrepresentation**.
