Everything was discussed verbally over the phone and when they did not perform to agreement, they claimed the "notes" doesn't reflect it and refused to go back to fix issues. OMG! Stay away from this company for snow removal!!! I called this past Tuesday and ordered my back driveway to be plowed ($100. no confirmed time, but SOMETIME today). I asked about shoveling walkway to patio, as well. The girl taking the call totally rushed me ("look- I have about 10 other calls to take") and said that it would be $50. more for that. I gave credit card for $150. and she quickly hung up. That's it. My friends came very late night (Tues approx 10pm) and on Weds at 6pm said the plowing/shoveling was never done.... I called Mile High Equipment at around 6:30pm on Weds eve and spoke to a nice man (I think it was the owner). He looked up the service call, said that they tried to PLOW my front drive but there were cars parked (a) I live on the main drag- Summit Blvd and don't even have a front driveway to plow.... it's public parking (b) I ordered and paid for SHOVELING a sidewalk. The gentleman also said that someone was parked in my back driveway when the plow got there. I said that I was not there, I didn't know an anonymous car was on my driveway and no one called me to report that. He said, OK, no problem.... call tomorrow and they will refund your $150. Nice conversation. Nice person. The next day I called and that horribly RUDE woman answered again and told me that they don't DO shoveling so I never ordered that. I begged to differ with her.... and explained that she charged me $50 extra to shovel and why the heck would I order show plowing in the front I don't have a front driveway and only Summit Blvd public parking is in front of my property (SHE is the one who booked it... and obviously never listened to what I had requested in the first place....). She told me NO REFUND... and got extremely belligerent with me. I told her that the man the night before said I get a refund and she screamed back at me. NO REFUND. I asked to talk to the manager and she hung up on me. I called back and when she answered, she said that she should have known better than to answer the phone. I once again asked for the owner or manager and she said "I'll give you $25. refund". I said "NO". and asked to speak to the owner again. She hung up on me again. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE person. I called tonight, hoping she had gone home and alas.... no answer... operator recording. I think she blocked my number!!! Mind you, I will cancel the charge through my credit card company but MAN OH MAN.... they need to FIRE this ROTTEN APPLE. She is nasty and was nasty right from the original booking. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR. read more

I was pleased with my visit to Mile High Equipment. Their prices are way better then renting at the mountain. $25 dollars for medium gear. $20 for basic starter and $30 for top gear. They also have a really nice retail shop inside. Basically everything you'll need for a day on the slopes. Fair priced gear. Girlfriend bought gloves for $40. Nice gloves and good quality. Their service was quick even though they were busy. They got my boots and board and got me out the door quick. The staff was all nice. The one thing they could improve is having signs were to start when renting. Their was 4 steps to get your gear. But no signs where to start and people were getting agitated and thought we were cutting when we were ahead of them in the process. My suggestion. Hang signs from the ceiling marking where to start, then the next step. So on and so fourth. Might make rushes in patrons to your business have a smoother flow. Thanks to all the staff!! read more

Terrible customer service. Spent thousands of dollars on a portable water tank. I had a issue with the engine and called to ask only a warranty question. The lady who answered the phone said that she would pass the information onto the person that was responsible of handling warranty calls. I called back several times during the week with only a response of the PERSON in charge has not called or checked in...Really for a week...And all I wanted is to see if it was under warranty... We were stuck in a cabin in big bear that we rented for three days.. Beginning of January.. It snowed while we were there A LOT... We are No strangers to snow.. We have lived in and visited in Lake Tahoe for years. But were stranded this time with no out. We were prepared on our ends as far as equipment and chains etc. But the company that the owner's of the cabin contracts with and pays $1000's/year to plow their properties (mile high) was big time cashing in on the storm and all the stranded people and the quick cash they could make by taking on call customers on the spot and not taking care of their contracted customers.. We fully understand someone has to be first and someone has to be last, but they were openly talking cash customers on the spot instead of their contracted customers. They repeatedly promised to but never showed up, left us there for days. We eventually flagged someone down off the mountain and payed them hundreds of dollars out of our pockets to plow us out. They were rude and just had very poor customer service all together. read more

We came across this company a couple weeks ago, we were staying at an Airbnb for the week next to Bear Mountain. There was a huge amount of snow, that buried our cars in the Steep driveway of the residence where we were staying. The shoveling was brutal for this flatlander. The bulldozer that was plowing Dogwood Drive stopped and talked to me. The driver's name was Mark, and he was super nice and offered their services when I asked if there was anyone who could help dig us out. He recommended I called the office, which I did, and he was back within two hours and had us dug out in about a half an hour. He was a super nice guy, and it was a pleasure to do business with him and his company. I see some negative reviews, but that was not our experience at all. Mark and mile-high were Lifesavers, and I will not hesitate to call them again should we ever get a butt ton of snow the next time we're in Big Bear. read more

My experience with Mile High has been less than optimal and a lot to be desired. I own a house in moonridge that I rent out and their service has been very inconsistent, communication has been lacking and sometimes downright rude and the actual plowing itself is very hurried and not considerate. I had a different service before this year who were fantastic but they no longer service the area. I have a camera on the property so I can monitor when services are done (or if they are done) and have caught them many times saying they did something and haven't or extremely long lead times to get my contracted service done when it dumps. The whole point of being under contract is not to maybe at some point be gotten to but to have a premier service that makes you feel you don't have to worry about your home or your guests getting in or out of the house. Mile High has failed miserably at this. I will not be using them again after this year and would suggest you look elsewhere. read more

I had a commercial agreement with them, called and scheduled service and they didn't show up. This wouldn't be too bad had they explained or called back. instead, after several calls and jokingly bad responses with premises of call backs, weeks later I am still waiting for that call. After telling me they didn't have any availability, I told her I would call back to see if they can go the next day. She told me that I was lucky that she even answered the phone. This shop is awesome! The best in Big Bear that I have been to by far. Snowboards are new, and they dont charge extra like the other shops to rent a rocker board. The rental boots are all Boa boots and they are the best. The have girl specific rentals at no extra charge. My daughter loves the girly boards. Customer service is great too, every one was english speaking and didnt hear one person speaking spanish. Every time I have rented they have given me a 50% off coupon for my next rental, talk about a huge money saver, big + in my book. I have found my ski and board shop.
