Stopped in here and saw the woman at the front desk was not wearing a mask. WHAT?! um it's a pandemic and you're a medical urgent care with many people coming in contact with you. 1. Office is dated and drab. When you walk in, it does not have a welcoming feeling. Nothing is attractive or comfortable about the waiting room. 2. The front desk staff are flat. No showing of empathy or caring or interest except to fill out the form and take your credit card. 3. The exam rooms are also drab and have nothing to make you feel that they have your comfort in mind. 4. The Nurse Practitioners are great and Tim is a gem. However on my first visit one of the NP was not honest and did not tell me of some particular issues that had shown up on testing, even though I asked. 5. They are incredibly unorganized. When I did not see that my surgeon had the test results, I called the Urgent Care and was told by the rude front desk staff that my surgery was cancelled. When I debated with her, she said someone would call me back. She did not know anything and certainly should not have been giving me such information whether she was right or wrong, and she was wrong. 6. When someone called me back, which turned out to be the Operations Director who I think is the owner but not sure, he told me my surgery was cancelled even after I told him that the NP had told me I was clear, and he went on and told me how dangerous it would be for me to have surgery. 7. Same Director called me back five minutes later and told me, oh oh mistake, and my surgery was not cancelled. When I asked him why he just told me I would be high risk in surgery, he said there was a difference of opinion between providers but never could respond appropriately. He also is not a nurse or doctor and his LINKED IN says he has been a Medical Assistant but his education is not as any type of medical provider. 8. The next day when I did not receive my email that I had asked for, the Office Manager argued with me and would not re-email me the reports I wanted, and told me to come in and get what I wanted. She refused to help me by sending me the email again and while I can barely walk, she told me to come in and get it. I expect a higher level of care and compassion, and of course professionalism and competency. I would never return to Lake Regional Care in Mount Dora and am considering other steps to ensure others do not get the same poor level of communication and response and emotional torture. They have always been super friendly, and caring. Dr. Spencer knows his stuff. He doesn't care to talk to you and help you understand his treatment process. I highly recommend this urgent care. They even have a banner that shows what the cash price is for a tremendous amount of services. When was the last time a doctor office would show you their prices upfront if you don't have insurance? I'm sorry to have to join the one star reviews. What a change of experience since my first visit here. Took my husband here when he was experiencing horrible stomach pains and vomiting. We did not get to see a Dr, just a nurse. They ran a few tests and said it was the stomach flu, but his bilirubin level was "a little concerning". They sent him home. Two weeks later, my husband was in the ER with end-stage liver failure! It's nothing short of a miracle he's still alive one year later. read more

Suite 114, the Villages, FL 32162, where I was attended by nurse practitioner, Susan Neal. Part way through the exam, I asked why she wasn't wearing a mask. "We don't believe in them. It's all hype." She even suggested that I should take my mask off. I told her I was terribly uncomfortable with that and said I'd wait for my prescriptions in the waiting room. She told me she would not bring the perceptions out to me that I'd have to stay right there to get them. So, stayed despite feeling violated by a health care professional who refused to do the simple act of putting on a mask. I now question the diagnosis and suggested pharmacology. Her behavior is unconscionable. Immediate punitive action needs to be taken against this nurse practitioner, Susan Neal. She is risking everyone's health she comes in contact with! read more

As a temporary winter Florida resident for the past 11 years, I have had the need to use the services of the LRUC in Mount Dora on several occasions and have always been as a client with respect. I have been treated with kindness and respect by the highly competent medical staff. I have never felt rushed out the door. During my most recent visit, yesterday, head nurse & x-ray technician, Virginia and APRN Susan Neal were professional, Knowledgeable, and caring. After following their recommendation for treatment and taking prescribed prescriptions, within 30 minutes I was no longer in excruciating pain from my shoulder injury. Thankfully I did not incur any broken bones. I will definitely return if I have another medical emergency. Thank you Susan and Virginia. read more

I won't be back here. Their front desk staff do not wear masks - something unimaginable for "medical professionals" during a pandemic, but apparently I'm using that term "professionals" lightly. Additionally, I called minutes after my visit to ensure that my son's urine was sent out for lab analysis, as I wanted to confirm the results of their in-house urinalysis. I left this message with their staff, and was told that I would be called back. I never got the call back. I called them back several days later after not hearing anything, only to be told that they did not send anything out, or bother to reach back out to me, and was told that I could provide them with another sample for them to send out (or more likely, lose). Even if I didn't live 3 hours away, I wouldn't give these guys another dime unless I had no other option. I'm so glad this isn't my only healthcare option and that this isn't my local dr office. The office space is nice, as are the real professionals past the reception desk. Also, patients that come in without face coverings should be given facemasks or turned away. This is a public safety issue, not a political one. read more

This facility is so-so. Long wait (over an hour) before being seen. First visit, the lady who ushered me around from station to station needs sensitivity training. She was efficient, knew what she was doing, but was impatient with me and not very kind. (She wasn't there the second time I went.) Everyone else was very nice, Also, facility is not wheelchair friendly. Ramp from parking to building has dirt at the bottom with weeds growing in it. Poor first impression. But, at least it filled in the little gully! Secondly, the toilets are too low for a handicapped person to easily lower themselves down upon. And getting up is literally impossible. I had to shout for my husband to come help me. Such a necessity definitely does not follow the guidelines for Americans with disabilities! Came here for a COVID test and staff was not wearing masks, after I used their pen I asked where to place the pen I touched to be sanitized and they said that there's no proof you can get COVID from a pen, that should have been my first clue to leave. Then when patients came in without masks they didn't ask them to wear a mask as they should and that was the last straw...this place does not follow proper protocols and I DID NOT feel safe here. Went in expecting a wait since so many are sick this time of year. Didn't mind the 15 minute wait before I got called back or the 10 minutes waiting for the doctor in the back. The nurse who did triage wasn't friendly and neither was the doctor. I would go as far as to say the doctor was borderline rude. In and out in under 5 minutes. Didn't really listen to my concerns or try to come up with alternative care plan for me. Rolled his eyes at me and made me feel insignificant. I live down south and use MD Now and have never had a bad experience. I thought this doctor was just having a bad day, but my Aunt saw the same one and said she thought he was awful as well. I am absolutely disgusted with the way my child was treated here, and also with the way the doctor reacted when I told him what happened. I brought my 2 year old in to be tested for the flu or strep. I've never been tested before and wasn't sure what to expect, a mouth swab or a nose swab. While a nurse is asking me questions, another nurse, Ashley, told me to hold my son's hands down. It happened so quick. I assumed she would explain or tell me what was going on when I grabbed his hands - nope, not at all. She just shoved the giant cotton swab up his nose. I've never been to the doctor and had them do something without first telling me what they were going to do. I couldn't believe it. How unprofessional - it would have taken two seconds to say, "hey mom we're going to do a flu swab, which means sticking this up his nose and it may be uncomfortable." I have never in my life felt so disrespected at the doctor. I tell my son everything that is going to happen to his body before hand, and I don't want to sound dramatic but he is slightly traumatized by what happened. He has spoken multiple times a day about this event and how scary it was for him, reenacting it on me and his stuffed animals. I told the doctor, and he asked me if I asked for a flu swab, insinuating in a rude tone that I should have expected what was about to happen. I kindly told him how much it upset me and how I felt disrespected and violated... but instead of apologizing or even just empathizing I was met with what seemed to be annoyance. It may not be a big deal to Ashley to shove something up someone's nose without telling them but it was and still is a really big deal for us. The doctor should have been more compassionate to my concerns instead of brushing me off like I was wrong for mentioning it. Absolutely disgusting and unprofessional, like I said. read more

Their ARNP, Tim Arnold, is the most unprofessional health care worker I've ever met. I was signed in at 6:30. I didn't see him until 7 which is their closing time. I understand that is frustrating but again, they were not closed when I signed in. He walked in and told the two women in the room to "type and talk, it's quitting time" before he ever said a word to me. From there, his questions, tone, and udder disrespect towards me and his two coworkers in the room were unforgivable. His bed side manner is completely absent. I wouldn't let him examine my dog. If you have to go here, ask for one of the two female NP's avoid this guy at all costs, unless you like being talked to like an idiot. Then by all means, catch Mr. Arnold at closing time. read more

I came to urgent care to have a cyst looked at that was on my back. They lanced it for $195 then charged $30 to send it to the lab. The doctor said come back in one week. They would give me the results of the lab and look at the healing process. He said there would be no charge for the follow-up. So in one week I showed up for my follow-up and was told it was going to cost me $50. I explained that the doctor said the follow-up was free of charge but the girl behind the counter couldn't find the doctor to get approval. By the way, she did not try very hard either. So I left without my follow-up and I left without my lab results so that was $30 down drain. I would never go to this place again and I would recommend nobody go to this place again! read more

Hubby went here for with bad cold symptoms, sinus pressure, coughing, wheezing and just feeling terrible. The nurse took his blood pressure, but never took his temperature. The MD he saw didn't listen to his chest, look in his ears or nose. Nothing. What kind of a place is this? I would not recommend this place to anyone. This is my second experience with this facility but regarding the same issue. My first visit was about two weeks ago. I have been dealing with a cough for two months but I feel otherwise okay. The first visit I was seen by a nurse practitioner who listened to my concerns and symptoms, listened to my lungs, and checked my ears. She was very friendly and sent me on my way with a course of antibiotics, nasal spray, and a sinusitis diagnosis. After finishing my medications nearly a week ago, I haven't seen improvement in my symptoms and went back to the office today. I waited an hour to be seen at all, understandable at a walk-in facility, but when I was finally seen by the physician, he listened to my lungs and told me that "coughs linger, sometimes for months". I have a one year old and told the physician that my bigger concern was not clearing my own health concerns and then passing something to my child. He resonded "I guess I can't convince you" and wrote a prescription for the same antibiotic. I will not be filling the prescription, nor will I be going back. It's like a game of physician roulette - don't know if the person treating you is willing to listen to your concerns or if they are borderline rude and dismissive. I left feeling like some sort of drug seeker when really all I want is an end to the cough I've had for two months. read more
