We were in town for my best friends birthday and traveled from Florida so I started searching places in Park City to order a special birthday cake for her without the Park City price-tag that some places have quoted me until I reached out to LuAnn's and I was blown away by the excellent service I received. It was easier for me to communicate via email and the responses back were so quick and effective understanding my request fully and being very, very reasonable with the price. I placed my order, shockingly without a credit card hold or deposit, and confirmed a few days before that it still would be ready by 9am the day of pick up. As promised, the cake was ready on time and it was absolutely gorgeous, delicious, and yummy at the same time. I was surprised the first time I stopped by LuAnn's cupcake shop. It's literally next to a car service shop near a gas station in the middle of nowhere. I heard that the service shop is her husband's and she took a piece of his real estate to do this. Anyway, we ordered a batch of 12 and presentation was great. They came in a box with 4 different flavors (carrot, red velvet, vanilla and choco) and were delicious. Our friends had them before and really liked her cupcakes. My first time visiting today and I got a half dozen, 3 carrot and 3 red velvet cupcakes. The owner is very kind and laid back. The red velvet was absolutely amazing! This is insane. I don't throw around phrases like "best cupcakes ever" lightly. But after my wife and kids sampled four different cupcake flavors, three of the four of us said these are the best cupcakes we ever had, the fourth one (I wont say who) loved them but wouldn't give them best ever status, teenagers can be difficult. Let's keep this simple, the cupcakes need to be ordered a day in advance, the flavors and variety are incredible. She uses real fruit in many of the cupcakes. Of course chocolate and vanilla and coconut are good but what about lemon? Yum!! We also had bananas foster, yikes, I almost passed out!! The absolute best are the signature strawberry shortcake, I will warn you, don't eat these while driving or standing. You will have a heart attack from pleasure. This is by far the best small business customer service I have received since moving to Utah. She is a great baker! We've tried five flavors by now and raspberry filled coconut is our favorite. The red velvet and vanilla are also very tasty. LuAnn went above & beyond to make up for a salty batch of cupcakes I received last week. After letting her know the dozen I had picked up came out too salty, she apologized and offered to give me credit. As someone who considers herself a cupcake connoisseur, I've had a lot of cupcakes in my life. I've tried all of those places in the valley that broadcast how they've won Cupcake Wars. None of them have compared to Sprinkles Cupcakes or Magnolia Bakery, my personal favorite places for cupcakes. I've even resorted to begging friends to stop by Sprinkles locations when they travel out of state to feed my cupcake cravings. However, I made it to Luann's today and was floored by the great cupcakes! She customized my half dozen mini cupcakes for me (all chocolate, half with salted caramel frosting and half with chocolate frosting and toffee bits) for no extra change. The cupcakes were the perfect density and the frosting (both flavors) was flavorful and not too heavy. The fact that they are mini cupcakes is even better, because you can try even more combinations with less guilt! Service was outstanding - I was greeted with a smile and had a great conversation as she prepared my cupcakes. I can't wait to visit again and try more flavors! Only downside - it's only open until 2 p.m. and only on weekdays :( read more

I have to say that LuAnn made, with not much notice, a beautiful cake for our Uncles 90th birthday party. It wasn't only beautiful, but so delicious! We had chocolate cake with raspberry filling and cream cheese frosting. There was not a single bit left! We don't live in Park City, but we're staying for the weekend and did not want to bring a cake, two days early, up the canyon from Salt Lake.
