You will spend hours trying to get help or items resolved, they MAY MAY MAY get resolved temporarily but next time you try to use their alleged resources it fails. Move west of Frankfort and south of 114th, your electric will come from SPEC and wont have to deal with LP&apoLogize. This is the worst company in LUBBOCK TEXAS. You call to request the disconnect date to cancel and move back home since your done with college. You think you paid your last bill. Oh no!!! 4 years later a bill shows up on your credit for $600 light bill. You call to to figure out what's going on. "Well sir we never got a phone call or paid so after a few months we disconnected the electric".... WTF?!? Why not disconnect after the first month? Or second month?! God knows when I lived there for college and was one day late they blew my phone up but when you move out and you disconnect they "never knew" so they didn't call. There are 3 letters that keep me from moving to Lubbock. LP&L. I'm not even a customer, and I don't like this company. It's not hard to find out why everyone in the city hates them. I tried to help a friend with a bill, and it literally took me an hour to make a payment over the phone. Automated systems are annoying as it is, but they have managed to make it worse. I tried talking to a person, and was promptly transferred back to the automated system! Terrible customer service. Terrible automated system. Terrible rates. Terrible company. If I ever had to live in Lubbock, and this was my only choice for power, I think I'd just join the Amish community. read more

This is the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with. They charged me almost $2,000 for my utilities in a course of 6 months when the bill was only supposed to be around $361. They emailed me after six months of trying to figure out why I had atrociously high water hills & eventually refunded me. It was a nightmare. This has got to be one of the worst electricity providers in America. I've lived in a few other cities and have never had a huge issue with my electric company, until now. Horrible rates and awful customer service. I've only lived here for 2 months and I'm already sick of them. Any customer interaction, to them, is another chance to squeeze as many pennies out of the customer as possible. Any time I bring a legitimate question to their attention, I'm treated like a criminal for simply asking. It's so unprofessional. I abhor dealing with them over the phone because I know I'm going to get the run around. It's a shame that they've monopolized Lubbock, or I'd change service in a heart beat. My service was disconnected because I did not pay the balance in full. The fact is that I did make a payment the day before although it was not the full amount. For example, the bill was like $338 and I paid $150. I understood that the past due amount was only $149. After speaking with them they say the past due was ~$189.00. I told them that I would have appreciated a call or text as a reminder and they said they had sent an email and a letter. Yes, they did but both were before I made the payment. If I had known that my service was pending disconnect within 24 hours or so after the payment it would have been avoided. Just a minor customer service gesture would have been great. The other concern is that I wanted to pay half of the $189 to get my service back on and they refused. The fact is I've never had a problem with service or failing to abide by an agreement. They had a chance to provide excellent customer service and they failed. In an era of competition this would not have happen. I wish they were more "customer sensitive". I made a recommendation for them to implement a text message system and or a automated call. Remains to be seen it anything happens. read more
