At Wrona's you can get an oil change for $100-$110, but here it is $130. Ive been coming to Lube and go for my oil changes for a couple years now and they've always been great. My car started making weird noises and I took it to Rizzolis auto and they quoted me $1,600 for new brake pads and rotors for the front and back as well as new brake fluid. I called Lube and go and explained the situation. Omar got me in the next day and charged me less than half of what the other mechanic quoted me for the same work. So so thankful that I called Lube and go. I appreciate Omar and his honesty and will definitely continue to come back because I know ill be charged fair prices. read more

Do not take your vehicle here. They are dishonest and inept. I went to have a smog check and figured why not change the oil. I tend to stay away from these types of places for any real maintenance and repair. An oil change though? Why not? Well let me tell you.... That was a mistake. Don't let these people touch your car. I was told they would be checking all fluids and even airing up the tires. How considerate. Got the car home and it immediately started showing signs of an oil leak. Opened the hood and there was oil all over the bottom of the engine compartment and skid plate. Checked the coolant level. Bone dry. Checked the tire pressure. 40 psi is called for this vehicle. All tires 22-28 psi. Luckily I had a tune up scheduled for the next day. My mechanic verified that they hadn't put anything up to catch the oil when removing the filter (why it was sprayed all over) BUT FAR FAR WORSE- they didn't tighten the plug in the oil pan. Straight oil leak. Now I don't put too much faith in these jiffy speedy lube type places but come on. Not only did they do a menial automotive task poorly and incorrectly, but they also completely lied about doing all of the system checks they said. They even wrote them down and checked on the receipt. To their one slight credit- wiper fluid was filled. But that's the only fluid someone who isn't familiar with cars can easily check- so whatever. The thing that makes me more angry than wasting my money there is the willingness this business has to feed its customers total bs with a smile. I was making the rounds getting this vehicle safe for a family member. Luckily I have enough basic experience to be able to check the work they "performed". STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS. read more

I've literally been coming to Lube N Go For about 17 years. The staff sometimes fluctuates. But I always get great service. They're efficient fast workers. Prices are fair. If I show up at 9 AM for an oil change I am in and out of there in 30 minutes or less. The waiting area is clean and comfortable. They even have a TV installed so you can watch whatever you want on TV while you wait to get your car serviced. Helpful tip: If you go to get anything done on your car mid afternoon this place is swamped busy. So I suggest going in right when they open. Locally owned, decent service but staff can be a little salty on occasion in a less than professional way, but work always seem to be done well. Waits typically are too long and they do Smog testing too. I have been taking multiple vehicles here for oil change service for years, and will continue to do so. I would not take a older Pre 2000's vehicle there for smog, in fact a older vehicle for smog I highly recommend going to a well rated mechanic shop that does smog as you really need a mechanic more familiar with those older vehicles. read more

Not only did they leave a rag in the engine area, but they didn't screw the cover back on under my car. Thank God it fell off at home and not while I was driving. I asked them to please check the transmission fluid, but they didn't. They told me I had an engine and transmission leak. There have been no signs of leaks. All I need is an oil change. I can do it myself but I don't have the space where I live right now. So this is merely a matter of convenience. I usually go to the Jiffy Lube a few blocks down, but recalled that this was owned by a local guy and thought I'd try and support a local. I drove in and asked for a regular oil change. I walked inside and sat down to wait. A few minutes later I was called out to 'have some things shown to me', you know the drill. I could have saved us both some time by telling them I can change my own air filter, I already replaced the spark plugs, I don't care about a little corrosion on the battery terminal (you can get it off by pouring a bit of water on them...don't waste your money on their 'cleaning service'), etc. But I indulged, said no thanks to each offer, went back in sat down, and ten minutes later my car was ready. I paid a bit more than I think I do at Jiffy Lube, maybe $45 total? I think an oil change in a small 1.8L 4-cyl car should run you about $30, which is around what I pay at Jiffy Lube. No one was overly nice, the place itself was fine, but I didn't feel any sort of care taken by anyone to get my business again. They knew it was my first time in, as I had two different folks ask if I was already in the system. So you'd think maybe you want to make a good impression to ensure I return. Well, no one tried to compel me to return, so I won't. I like to support local, but I won't spend my money at a place that feels so old and uncaring for my business. Love to Lube N Go. It's fast, cheap and reliable. If they do point out other issues with my car, I always check them first. The norm here is just good quick service. They do have a waiting room, but it is very small and the extra parking is almost non-existent, but the guys are friendly and straight-up. Also did I mention that they are fast? If you call ahead, they will tell you when they are busiest or slowest, so you can choose how much time it will take. It is a bit tricky to get to, and you have to finesse your way around lower Higuera street so you aren't stuck at the five-way light at High St. read more

I have been taking my fleet of vehicles to this shop for repairs and oil changes. I recently had one of my guys take his truck to a different shop and the front right brake was seized to the rotor. Which means they werent checking the brakes and caused me to have a big repair that could have bee prevented. Secondly, I have only taken the trucks to this location and they stripped my drain plug on one of the trucks and proceeded to lather silicone all around the plug to prevent it from leaking. Hi, this message is to find others who have gone through what my husband and I are going through. Or even any situations that have happen and caused a loss. We are hiring a lawyer to proceed with charges and getting our money back. But we also want to make sure they don't get away with doing this to people and people who they have taken advantage of. My husband went to Lube-n-Go in San Luis on January 23rd 2019. After this simple oil change on our 2010 beautiful Toyota Tundra, the engine blew. We took it to a trusted family mechanic who thoroughly looked it over, took photos and is writing up the proper documentation to take the owner of this facility to court. The owner was very rude, very inconsiderate as to what had happened and tried to jerk us around. The person who changed the oil at Lube n go took out a very crucial part of the oil filter and forgot to put it back in when he replaced the filter. It caused the metal of the filter to suck back into the engine and blew the engine. We truly not only want justice for what they did to us but also know they have probably done this to others and even if it's a less loss it's still a loss and they should be held accountable. I am a 19 year old girl who knows little about cars and the mechanics decided to take advantage of this situation. They started by taking me under my car where they pointed to things I didn't know about and eventually went on to tell me that my car was completely broken and that I needed a new engine right away. I think this place is hired full of scam artists. When I went in for an oil change, the guy showed me this little dip sample of the color of my Transmission fluid, which looked like gritty tar. This crap that he showed me looked like they collected it from the Labrea Tar Pits. They wanted to charge me 65.00 to change my transmission fluid. I bring my car here every time it needs servicing. On Monday I was able to get in for a smog check, break check and oil change. The customer service I received on the phone was great...I always have questions, probably too many, but they never make me feel stupid. I was given an estimate of the charges for the day upon arrival. I sat in the lobby watching Chopped on Netflix when a young man on his way to SF came in needing an oil change. He was sent to Lube n Go from Jiffy Lube since for whatever reason Jiffy Lube couldn't change the oil in his Mercedes. It was nice to see they were helping all of their customers with the same respect and quality. It wasn't too long after my car was brought back that I was asked to come and take a look at something...I was so nervous. I thought the technician was going to tell me my breaks were in horrible condition and that I need new ones ASAP. On the contrary! I was informed my breaks are basically still in great condition; they're just dirty hence the squeaking noise I hear on occasion. The technician said he'd clean them to try and decrease the squeakiness. I checked the bill at time of paying and to see if I was up charged for any 'break cleaning' service and I wasn't. I took my 1982 Toyota Sunrader (a mini motorhome) there to be smogged (which is getting harder to do in California with older vehicles) and their technician, Alejandro, could not have been better to work with. It had an issue with a leaking exhaust which he let me run down to Autozone to repair while leaving the job open so I could return and complete the test. It passed after the repairs. First time I've had that kind of service at a smog station. Thank you Alejandro. The rest of the staff is very friendly and efficient. I've been going there for years and will continue. If you have an older vehicle I would recommend Lube N Go on Higuera Street for smog testing. Their prices are competitive but the service is outstanding. read more
