Panicking, and knowing that finding someone locally to work on a Sprinter (especially on short notice) was going to be nearly impossible, I started to scour the Central Coast. Luckily, one of the SLO German Automotive's staff recommended this shop and boy was I glad they did! SLAR&S not only diagnosed the burnt emissions sensor, they were able to get and replace the part, recharge my AC, and even pulled off my bumper (at my request!) so I could get the new tow package on. All of this done next-day!!!! I couldn't believe how clutch these guys were and the price was very reasonable. From now on, my Sprinter only goes to SLAR&S!!

I needed a Smog certificate, so I started looking for a garage in town…read more I checked Yelp and sure enough I found a couple of places...Now like most of my reviews I was aware of this garage and I'd been by it a hundred times, they were always busy. Certainly the sign of a good place whether it's a restaurant, car repair or a bar. I linked onto the site and followed along until I found the spot to make a reservation. Now the question was asked "leave car" or I'll wait". I chose leave the car and no reservations were available for a few days so...I backed up and chose I'll wait an available times popped up for tomorrow... Okay tomorrow 9:45 that would work. I arrived for my appointment a bit early, Jaedon was in the office and he logged the car in and said he'd call when it was ready, cool. So I left to do my work out and walk and a couple hours later I saw the missed call and a text to pick up my car, wow. Now he had told me the service fee and I thought that was a bit high and yes that price included the smog certificate. Once I was back in the office, (they have a great little waiting room just behind the shop) Jaedon reviewed the inspection they had done on the car and the washed my car too. A good shop will wash your car, that was cool. Everything was in good order, the car passed the smog test. I ordered the filters and wiper blades that needed replacement from the big A and saved a couple bucks. WOW!! My car has…read morehad trouble starting for the past several months intermittently; we replaced the alternator, battery, terminal... caps? whatever holds it in place. And never a solution that lasted very long. We kept wondering if it was the starter, and our suspicions were confirmed after my car had issues starting again this morning. We were turned away from a different shop, but a quick call confirmed that Wimmer's could help us out. We arrived around 12:45 and ended up picking our car up at about 5pm - they were able to switch out the starter and complete an oil change, they even gave me a complimentary exterior wash! Altogether it ended up around $900 including the diagnostic and the VERY thorough multipoint inspection. I'm so appreciative of the whole team, they really hustled to make sure that we could have our car back before they closed and it truly means so much.

Being far away, I immediately began an exhaustive online search for automotive centers in the area, carefully reading through numerous reviews to find a place I could trust to take care of him properly. Morin Brothers consistently came up in my search, so I gave them a call, and I'm very glad I did. From the very first interaction, Elena was outstanding. She was responsive, professional, patient, and incredibly easy to communicate with. Even after reading a mix of reviews that made me slightly hesitant, her level of care and clarity gave me the confidence to move forward. We discussed the needed services, oil change, front and rear brakes, and a tire rotation. While the cost was not cheap, it was fair and comparable to other estimates I had received. When Elena later called to review additional diagnostics, I admit I was cautious, but trusting her judgment, I authorized the work so my son's vehicle could be properly and safely evaluated. A few hours later, she followed great news: the additional diagnostics revealed no issues, and there would be no charge for that extra time. She also mentioned that a previous oil change may have resulted in some excess oil being spilled, which likely contributed to the concern. I believe I paid for a service that was either not performed properly or not performed at all…read more When I bought my car, another shop noted that the brake fluid was brown and needed replacement. I put it off for over a year before finally bringing it to this shop earlier this year specifically for a brake bleed. I even supplied my own premium DOT 4 brake fluid. I understood there would be no warranty because I provided the fluid. A few months later, in May, I returned for a full safety inspection. Their own inspection showed that the brake fluid was green/brown and in poor condition--the exact same problem I had paid them to address. At that point, I called and left a voicemail explaining that from my perspective it looked like the reservoir may have simply been topped off while I was charged for a full brake service. I told them I would gladly listen if there was a legitimate explanation. The explanation I received was that a brake bleed "doesn't change the fluid, it just removes air." That statement raised even more questions. Brake fluid exits the system during a bleed. New fluid is added during the process. Yet somehow, after paying for the service, the fluid condition was still reported as poor. The proposed solution was even worse. Rather than standing behind the work or explaining why the fluid was still contaminated, I was offered another brake fluid exchange for over $200. In other words, after already paying once to address the issue, I was being asked to pay again. I'm a college student. I don't have money to throw away on services that fail to solve the problem they were supposed to solve. What bothered me most was not even the money--it was the complete lack of accountability. If your brake fluid is discolored and you are paying this shop to address it, keep your receipts and verify the results afterward. I did, and the paper trail speaks for itself. Based on my experience, I have serious doubts about the value and quality of the brake service performed here, and I will not be returning.

Also called Bay Auto & Tire on L.O.V.R. in Osos. I had a new…read morefront end wobble @ 40mph and somewhat less noticeable at 75. Once upon a.... The car was defiantly pulling hard to the left once I let go of the steering wheel. That's what lead to the " I need an alignment" I made the call to Bear/Bay. Kevin greeted me and told me what they would do for basically $90. Ok that's about what I expected, he said the car should be ready in an hour. No sooner had I got in the door from the walk home the phone rang. Kevin says "it's worse you need a tire" He said the tread was separating from the core. Wow I drove nearly 900 miles on that tire. Kevin quoted me on some brand name tires but was more than I wanted for the "fix". So back to the shop, Kevin said after he had discovered the issue with the left tire tread separation he switched the left and right tires and the bad left tire now on the right side of the car made the car pull right. In a sense proving it was not an alignment issue but a tire issue, definitively. He could of course chosen another solution but he was truthful and that scores big with this Elite Yelper. Last week he brought in our family van for some "new" tires and paid $600. Found out the manufactured date is October 2021. That same day we noticed the steering wheel would shake vigorously past 60mph. Took it back and was told it needed new front bearings for $900!!! Didn't seem right so we brought it to another shop and come to find out, it wasn't the bearings at all! These guys put a bunch of extra weights on our brand new tires which caused it to shake!! Got the tires balanced from a legit shop and now it runs smooth as it should! Come to think of it, we have 1 vehicle that no longer runs and two others with issues that these guys probably messed up! Thankfully nothing traumatic happened while driving our van with our children in it! Do not trust this business Los Osos!
