Their prices were the best we found, but it was their professional and detailed explanation and answers to our questions that convinced us to go with Dr. Koen. Before coming to Dr. Koen, we shopped around. We initially went with an Orthodontist that was recommended by a friend. The treatment for my oldest kid did not go anything like that Orthodontist described so we searched for help and after interviewing several Orthodontist, we found Dr. Koen. He provided a treatment plan to help my oldest child recover for the unnecessary surgery that was recommended by our first Orthodontist. A surgery that did not even closely produce the desired outcome. So, if any Orthodontist (and I mean any) recommend surgery, come talk to Dr. Koen first. Get a second or third opinion! Surgery should almost never be the first option (my personal opinion). However, surgery can not always be avoided, but you will get a detailed description of what you can expect with Dr. Koen. With Dr. Koen's advice and guidance, we avoided several unnecessary oral surgery procedures that were recommended for my younger 3 kids by other Orthodontist. The treatments for my kids went exactly as Dr. Koen described. We elected for porcelain braces for all four kids due to their theatrical performances. The up charge for porcelain was about 50% of what our first Orthodontis and others quoted us. They are very punctual and have the scheduling down to a science. As you can tell by my review, we are extremely happy with Dr. Koen and I know you will be also!

We asked the pediatrician what they thought and they sent us to sumner pediatric dentistry for a proper opinion from someone who has seen it before. I was warned several times that a lot of times facilities can over diagnose to get money out of parents by just doing the procedure. To say I was nervous is an understatement because I'm a new mom with my first... I felt at ease the second I got into this office. The staff was so caring and sweet and took a genuine interest in my little one. The dentist looked at my son's mouth and gave me so much honest advice coming from a father himself- and not just a professional. He was honest, genuine, and insisted on only doing the procedure if he thought my son needed it. He said he thought he was thriving as is. I couldn't thank him enough for looking out for my son's best interest and mine as his mother. My child was so anxious that he wouldn't lay down and started crying. The staff was very kind and explained everything to him. We did move to a private room (which made me a little less embarrassed). We were referred to this amazing Dental team, by the business that we were temporarily renting a home from. My first visit, i was in need of having a crown glued back on. It had popped off, thankfully I didn't damage it...but Dr. Liu put it back in place quickly. This was my first time meeting this wonderful team at HCFD. I've also had two dental cleanings in our first year and they also spotted two very small cavities that I wasn't aware of, as I typically get 3 cleanings a year and take very good care of my teeth. Both cleanings were done by Susan...who is very pleasant, gentle and sweet. :) The fillings were just done today, and they were quick, easy and painless (so small, they didn't require any numbing YAY! Hence taking proactive care before they got worse, it was a simple procedure). I was in and out in 25 minutes!!! Dr. Liu was extremely gently and explained the process as he completed the task. Every staff member was genuine, kind and professional. I am very impressed by the professionalism of this staff. They all go above and beyond to ensure that you are comfortable and don't experience any pain. (No one truly likes dental work, but this team is wonderful!). I can't say enough about this practice and I appreciate each and every one of them! The office is gorgeous! It is beautifully and professionally decorated...a very relaxing atmosphere.
