Meghan is, hands down, the best esthetician you'll find anywhere. I started seeing her years ago…read morewhen she was working out of Optima Day Spa. Now in her own space at Alainn, she's created such a lovely, warm and welcoming place to come and be pampered. I always get there early and relax for a few minutes in the waiting area with a cup tea. Her services are reasonably priced and she always goes above and beyond to make it well worth the cost. She's thorough and informative and clearly has a vested interest in her clients' overall well-being beyond just the work that she does. She has helped me learn how to better care for my own skin and is always willing to give tips and tricks so even if you can't go regularly you can take away the tools to pamper your skin at home! I live in LA and wait for months to have the chance to come home, visit my family, and go see Meghan! And it's always well worth the wait!!

But my moustache was beginning to look like Fu Man Chu, so I realized that I really needed to get it waxed. She did my brows and got rid of a couple of growths that just spontaneously like to sprout on my face (I could never be a man). I've only gotten my moustache waxed about 4 times in my lifetime and can't say it's fun, but I will credit Meghan with doing everything possible to stem the pain. Meghan is cordial, efficient, has a sense of humor, and she is a perfectionist. My lip broke out afterwards, but, apparently, this is common. The bumps did go away within a week or so. I do feel cleaner, and it actually enhanced my features, giving me a smooth look. I rarely wear makeup but my lipstick did look better. I'll be going back routinely.

Once I found Bethany at Onari it was like the heavens opened and the angels sang.... My brows have never looked better! She is the eyebrow goddess! All hail the Queen but in all seriousness she's very good at what she does and I feel like when I go for an appointment I'm hanging out and catching up with a girlfriend in a serene calm clean beauty space. She's very good at what she does and I can't recommend her place enough! I drive 20-30 min (depending on traffic) to get to her and do this drive because she is 1000% worth it! When I leave her studio, I feel absolutely amazing. For probably 2 weeks after a facial, I don't even need to wear makeup! She does a great job on extractions and really exfoliates and rehydrates the skin. On top of the excellent work that Bethany does, the products she uses and sells are absolutely top-notch. I have two of the toners, the eye cream and the hydrating serum. I get SO many compliments on my skin! Bethany is a warm, wonderful, knowledgeable person who really, truly cares that she gives you the best possible experience she can. Her presence during treatments is very calm and you can barely hear her moving around. She has everything prepped ahead of time, so there's no fussing with product or messing around with extraneous things. Every single contact that she makes with you has a purpose and a reason. From brushing your hair out of the way to start a facial, to doing a hand massage while a masque sets - nothing is rushed. Skin Esteem has such a great, calming vibe to it, that you can't help but be relaxed when you walk in the door. The colors and tones that Bethany has chosen are beautiful. The waiting area is bright, airy, and welcoming, while her treatment room has an earthy, warm, calm, luxe feel to it. I've been to spas in really expensive hotels (Ex: The Mandara Spa @ Atlantis in the Bahamas) and the service I get from Bethany blows them out of the water. It's not even a comparison. Stop by, get a service, and visiting this studio will become your new "treat yo' self" habit.

I learned about this salon from a client at my own job - she is an employee there. I decided to go in and check out their menu of services on my lunch break. Prices seemed reasonable, so I called and booked my appointment. I had checked out all of the stylists online and had hoped to be booked with Kristen M. as luck would have it, that's exactly who I got! She was very friendly and welcoming. She took the time to listen to what I wanted and actually said she was reluctant to do a service until my color grew out, stating it would make my hair unhealthy and she didn't want to be responsible. I appreciated her honesty and concern. I got the best cut and color from her and was thrilled with the price. My color has held up well and looks natural - just the way I like it. Kristen took the time to ensure I walked away loving my look! In observing other stylists while waiting under the dryers, they seem talented, too. It's not a salon with a lot of frills, though it's very clean and inviting. They have a separate nail area. I loved that I could tip on my credit card. So many places require cash tips now. This makes it easy and allows me to tip a bit more generously, as I rarely have cash. They offer coffee, tea, etc. I recently had my second cut with Kristen and was equally pleased with the results! It was also like sitting and chatting with an old friend. She gives pretty awesome scalp massages during the wash, too! They don't hard sell products like many salons I have been to. Brought our teenaged daughter here for a cut and she loved her hairstyle as well! So happy to have found a consistent, friendly, reasonable and exceptional salon!!

TL;DR: Stay away from this place. Here's the full story:…read more I'm a physician. I have a teenage child who has a mild case of facial acne that has been successfully treated by a dermatologist who prescribed a regimen of topical prescription medications and short-term use of an oral antibiotic. After we relocated to NH, my child's acne flared up. Having run out of anti-acne medication and with an upcoming event requiring my child's skin be clear for photos, I needed to find a new, local dermatologist who could prescribe medications and who also had an on-site aesthetician. This dual service--prescription ability with an aesthetician--was a key consideration, as my child has a very full calendar requiring us to schedule both visits at a single time and place. I called around to a few dermatologists and found many that had available time slots but none that offered both dermatology and aesthetician services--until I called Confident Med Spa. I spoke with a woman who claimed to be one of its two owners. She assured me very specifically that they had on-site both a nurse practitioner who was licensed specifically to prescribe FDA-approved anti-acne medications explicitly dispensed by pharmacies, and also an aesthetician, both of whom would be available to see my child in back-to-back sessions. So I set up the appointments to occur back-to-back in a single visit. When we arrived, we met first with Deanna Nickerson, a woman perhaps in her forties. She took photos of my child's face and gave us her recommendation: buy a few of the Obagi products available on-site at Confident Med Sap. Aware of Obagi's business model--to sell ineffective, non-FDA approved products in expensive packages at exorbitantly high markups--I was very dubious. I told her that we'd be happy to purchase the Obagi line, as money was not a limiting factor for us, but I also wanted prescription medications for my child given that my child had responded well to them in the past and we had an imminent event. Deanna resisted this suggestion, invoking my child's young age and vulnerability to side effects, despite my child's successful history with prescription medications. Deanna kept insisting that Obagi products were "medical grade," a fabricated marketing term that she used at least ten times in an attempt to mislead us about the fact that Obagi products are *not* FDA approved. After I further pressed Deanna Nickerson, she smugly looked me in the eye and explained that "as a trained professional licensed to prescribe medications"--those are her words--she was going to use her professional judgment to do what she thought best for my child. She agreed that if we were to buy the Obagi products, she would call us in two weeks, and if the skin still had not cleared up despite my child's adherence to the daily regimen, then Deanna would contact the Shaw's pharmacy, via what she claimed was electronic linkage to Shaw's, and provide us with a prescription for FDA-approved, medications for my child. Two weeks later, Deanna Nickerson called me. I told her my child's skin had not cleared up. She asked me to email photos proving this claim, and I did so. I then reminded her about our agreement, and asked her to provide the prescription she promised. She resisted, saying that I should bring my child in for another visit and that my child should try some other Obagi products--"medical grade," again in her words. I reminded her again of our explicit agreement, of her repeated, specific claim that she had prescribing authority and could order that medications be dispensed from Shaw's, and of her claim that she would use that authority for my child's benefit if the acne had not cleared up. She finally admitted that she was not licensed to prescribe prescription medications. I immediately called Confident Med Spa and left an irate message demanding to speak to an owner. A few minutes later, Skye Morabito, who described herself as the manager, called me. After I explained the situation, she apologized and refunded me the full amount that I had paid Confident Med Spa. Skye seemed professional and polite, but I suspect she was motivated solely to mitigate reputational damage to Confident Med Spa--not to remedy the root cause by firing Deanna Nickerson and overhauling Confident Med Spa's approach to business. Stay away from Confident Med Spa, and stay away from Deanna Nickerson. She is a dishonest and deceptive person who can look a client in the eye and make false statements as easily as she breathes.
