She wasn't even part of the Yelpers (just a restaurant patron) and was telling me that she is a hairdresser herself and she can spot a great highlight job when she sees it (that sounded redundant). I was so flattered! Rosemarie is usually booked up so I know I have to call in advanced to get an appointment. She is worth the wait, though! When I was out of the country, I had to go to another hairstylist because I couldn't hold out any longer (I waited 4 months!!) and it was a mess. I went back to her as soon as I got back to have the disaster fixed. Her prices are amazing!! AMAZING! Men's haircut is $20, Woman's haircut is around $40 and color varies depending on the hair length. For the haircut, she shampoos, cuts, blow dries, and then texturizes. She's an expert colorist and I've seen some of her clients that came from other salons to have their color fixed because it was a mess. This place rules…read more First, a confession: I've been dying my own hair for years. The last time I went somewhere to get my hair done I left in tears - the chick totally ruined my hair. Fast forward years later, my hair is in need of a cut and color and I just didn't feel up to it. A friend of mine told me about Lola ( specifically Meghan), and I was feeling saucy and had a babysitter, so I called and booked an appointment. I ended up getting there too early, so I got some work done while I waited. It has a nice cool vibe there, and they feature jewelry to buy from local artists - how cool is that? Meghan is an adorable tall irish chick. She may or may not be an elf from Lord of the Rings. I'm not sure, because her skin is flawless and i'm pretty sure she doesn't age. She's a lot friendlier and happier than the elves from LotR though, so who knows. I told her of my past experience, and she made me feel comfortable right away. As I sat in the side room, tin foil in hair, hair cooking, thinking of the movie Signs, I got to sip a glass of red wine. I didn't even have to smuggle it in, they have wine for their customers. After your hair is rinsed out and shampooed they put conditioner in and then cover your head with a hot towel to help the conditioner soak in. While the hot towel is on you get a hand massage. The hand oil they have is awesome, it soaks in right away and made my hands feel super soft. As someone who constantly applies hand lotion, I was super impressed. After my hair was rinsed out I got to see it - and I loved it! It was exactly what I wanted. I felt SO relieved and happy that I went to Lola. As Meghan finished up by cutting my hair I watched the digital frame on her desk. The slideshow included Christine Hendricks and Karen Gillan, so Lola immediately gets 100 points for including Joan AND Amy Pond. I love how my hair turned out, and it's all thanks to Meghan. The most recent visit was not meeting her idea of her style. It was cut too short - matronly that she does not need. I recommended that she complain. This led to a discussion about getting compensation for over cutting her hair. She is very pretty and looks fine in the current condition but I couldn't help but to notice that it's a cut she has never had before. It's not what she wanted. Shoulder length is her style and appropriately so. She doesn't want me to complain but I'm complaining. Make it right!
