Amazing building. Food was flavorful and well presented. Cheese curds, cheese pizza, tacos and empanada. The food servers were great. Nice eye contact, kind verbal interaction. Thank you! Host station was leaving a rough, snarky feel in my soul. The constant side eye from one was troubling to say the least. Server situation, drinks were a struggle. Shirley temples were a bottle of grenadine with a splash of Sierra Mist. Amaretto was clearly to complicated to retrieve. We ordered and basically never seen B until the check needed to be dropped. Delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere. We shared the Sausage and Arab pizza and the Pulled Pork Tacos with chips and salsa. The pizza was crisp with excellent flavor and a tasty crust (very good dipped in the salsa!). The tacos were also delicious, though a bit salty for my taste. I also enjoyed the salsa, which was a combination of salsa verde and pico de gallo. We sat upstairs in the window for an excellent view of the capitol building on a clear night. A large group of us went here for dinner Saturday night. I really appreciate that you can reserve a table online in advance. The atmosphere and building are really cool, and the service was great! It wasn't super quick but we were okay with it because we got to catch up. I got the Moscow mule which was yummy and I ordered the Umami pizza. SO good. We started off with drinks in the basement, a bar and lounge is very convenient while waiting for your table. This location was formerly a bank, and turned into a restaurant after the recession. My only critique for the lounge would be improved lighting ambience, it was very dim, and the bar is not fully loaded. The pizza was incredible! Wow on a trip for work my colleague and I enjoyed a dinner at Lucille. The decor of this restaurant is very industrial. We loved all of the old touches of exposed Brick, old flooring, and vintage lighting fixtures. I will get her was very nice but at times it was hard to track him down when we were in need of refills and the food took a little bit of time to come out. We ordered Cheese curds an appetizer served with 2 dipping sauces, both were delicious. Unfortunately the pizza we wanted was pictured on the website and we tried to get the same one by showing him a photo. The pizza was nowhere close to being anything like the photo and it took quite a while for it to come out. Overall I would give this place 3.5 stars. I do appreciate the free drink up on yelp check in, thank you for that. The restaurant did not live up to the hype. We coordinated this event a couple of weeks beforehand by getting in contact with Maddy, the Director of Hospitality and Events. Communication was easy and frequent. When we decided on the menu, Maddy was careful to take note of several food allergies and restrictions within the group. We've visited Lucille several times before the pandemic and enjoy the space. It's a large space with a decent sized bar. They have a nice variety of cocktails and beer. Their empanadas with the aji sauce are amazing. The chicken tinga and sweet potato ones are my favorite. My husband loves their pizza, the deep dish style. Their tacos look really good and I really wanna try those next. Recently, we were able to get an outdoor table they have on the street now. A great hot-spot in Madison! Super cool vibes and a vault bar downstairs which is reallllyyyyyyy cool. Always super packed which is a downside but for good reason! The food and drinks are delicious! We had shared the Mediterranean with chicken added. The crust was cooked to perfection and the pizza had a bite to it. However, it was a bit overloaded on the artichoke. We got a 14" and it was the perfect size for both of us. We paired it with a solid bottle of champagne but, I've been here a few times and have had other cocktails, all equally as good. The service was quick and friendly! Loved the bartenders and the hosts. Although, I wish they took reservations for parties less than 4. We waited an hour for a table for two so in the meantime we just ended up ordering at the bar.. By the time we ate and finished our drinks I got a text from the Hostess that our table was ready. With the caveat that I have only been here once and I've only eaten the steel pan (Detroit style) pizza, I enjoyed it enough that I just can't hold it in. The crust was thick, but not heavy or dense or greasy and the edges were caramelized and shockingly delicious. I haven't had Detroit style before, so I don't know how it compares to its cousins. I haven't tried their wood fired pizzas and I don't know how I ever will at this rate. Also had a plantain desert with caramel and coconut ice cream that was also surprisingly good and much lighter than I expected. Lucille was my first destination during a recent visit to Madison and really set the bar for my dining and drinking experiences! Our waiter, Dan, was super patient, helpful, and attentive. He was able to help us with our drink selections, which we very much enjoyed. The cheese curds were amazing! Finally had an opportunity to come here last night. It has been on my list of restaurants to try for so long. I was a part of a large group and we were promptly greeted and seated (had reservations). I really love the layout and ambiance of the place. Relaxing and casual but also classy (if that makes sense). The drink list was full of creative cocktails, the wine list wasn't big but had the necessities. We ordered guacamole with chips and cheese curds for the table. The guac was delicious and the cheese curds jumped to the top of my 'favorite cheese curds in town' list (right under Craftsman). We ordered 4 pizzas for the table. 2 of the steel pan (deep dish) and 2 wood fired (thin crust). One of the thin crusts we ordered was the Sonoma, and wow it was delicious! The prosciutto, goat cheese, and arugula tasted amazing together. As for the steel pan, I had a slice of the 6 mile classic. It was good, but I thought it was a little too bready for the amount of toppings. I know this is Detroit style (which I've never had,) so maybe it's supposed to be like that, but I'm just personally not a huge fan of it. Doesn't mean it was bad, just not my favorite, but I did finish the slice! The service was fantastic. Everything came out quickly and accurately. We basically just had the server split the check 9 ways, and she came out with a portable card machine. How convenient! She ran each of our individual cards right at the table, and I love that. Lemme tell you: * Negroni to drink. Well-made cocktail. * I had a subtle / understated Caesar salad (with bomb croutons) that had super crispy fresh romaine. * A wood-fired pie with pepperoni, bell pepper and jalapeno (my go-to-combo). The bell peppers are red instead of the standard green which I imagine for most folks is a bonus (since they are so mild and sweet) but I miss my vegetal green. So I sat and waited and watched the bartender hand a menu to other customers (there were only about 7 of us at the bar), get himself a drink of water, and loop the bar area several times. My mom and I went here for dinner on a Saturday night, and were so pleased with Lucille! We showed up around 6pm (I think), and we were pretty lucky (and surprised!) that they had a table for two open as the place was packed! The atmosphere inside of Lucille is so neat -- it's such a cute/trendy space with lots of history behind the building itself as well. We sat upstairs, in the long row of two/four person tables where one side is a cushioned bench along the wall and the other side is chairs. I felt a bit close to the other pairs of people dining next to us, but it wasn't the worst -- maybe a little more space between tables would be nice. We each got our free moscow mule kegged cocktail with our Yelp check-in, which was a nice perk! All of the menu items sounded so intriguing and delicious, but we settled on splitting a medium salad along with the smaller size of their wood-fired crust pizza. We chose the Italian Pantry Salad (field greens, carrots, baby mozzarella, piquillo pepper, artichoke hearts, Castlevetrano olives, fresh basil, white wine-basil dressing) and WOW this salad was AMAZING! I loved it. Like really, really, loved it. So stinkin' good!!!! And guess what... it got even better when our pizza arrived! We went for the Umami Pie and it was out of this world. YUM. I've never had such a sophisticated pizza before (black garlic creme fraiche, manchego, grilled chicken, roasted mushrooms, spinach, caramelized onion, fresh rosemary, scallion) and I absolutely loved it. The flavors worked so well together, and I loved the crust thickness -- not super duper thin but not that doughy and thick either, it was just right. We had a few pieces of pizza to take home for leftovers. I reheated them in my oven the next day and they tasted just as great as the night before. All in all, I would love to eat this dinner over and over again because it was SO great. I'm going to have a hard time not ordering the same thing next time I visit Lucille! Amazing ambience of the place. The lower level is nice and open. The upper one is pretty good too. The restaurant was crazy busy even on a weekday. Our server was really busy too. We tried the steel nachos and they were ok. They dont come with beans and were kinda soggy and not as appealing as some of the pics suggest. Our pizza was good and hot but took a long time coming. I did not put up any Christmas decorations this year at my house, but you know who did, my gal Lucille. Boy did she go all out. Every inch of the place is covered in pine fronds, lights, Santa hats, or some other ridiculous holiday decor. The festiveness alone is worth the trip. My group ordered a few pizzas and drinks and enjoyed a lazy afternoon of gluttony. What I tried: Sausage and Raab- Nice flavor pairing. Familiar, but with a unique twist. Umami Pie- Why do I always forget that I hate kale? This pie is great, just remember to remove the worst leafy green of all time- kale. Better yet... World, come to your senses! New favorite bar in Madison by far! Used to be the Isthmus and minus the office walls, the layout is the same. Only much more stripped down and with a bar on the main floor. Though, I'm not entirely convinced that the Isthmus didn't have a secret bar somewhere... We started from the bottom and worked out way up, there's just something about drinking beers in a refurbished bank vault that excites! It's an upscale place too, everyone was dressed up and not many guys wearing hats. A very nice change of pace from what you'd find on State Street! Main level was of course the most packed, the balcony area I think is the unsung hero of this new location. They stripped back the walls to the original structure and on one portion the original painted on sign for "The Capital City" was present. Music was also great, not too loud, still could hear your friends across the table from you. Can't wait to come back, this is definitely a new favorite! read more

Delicious pizzas located in the heart of Madison right by the state capitol. It also has the BEST nachos I've ever had. The chips we're crisp and loaded with salsa, guac, sour cream, pickled onions and jalapenos. The pickled onions were a really good touch. I love that they offer two types of pizzas: thin crust wood fired pizza and deep dish pizza. I couldn't choose between the two as they were both fantastic.
