    Grilled Romaine & Tenderloin Salad

I've been to the one in Monona which I've been happy with and appreciate that there's one closer to me. Lots of parking. Very busy but it is also graduation weekend/Mother's Day. Given this, service was a bit slower but at least we got seated right away without reservations at 8pm. Cool outdoor patio. I thoroughly enjoyed everything I got. Spicy ahi tuna bites - crispy and flavorful. SPICY! Those Serrano peppers are packing heat! Also sweet. Clam chowder - not over salted, maybe could've used a little less potatoes. The cup size was plenty to share for an app between two. Tenderloin/romaine - I love bleu cheese so this was perfect. Three pieces of tenderloin, could have been salted a little bit more if standalone but honestly with the accompaniment of blue cheese dressing, it's better that they didn't. The polenta was I don't know, that might've been my favorite part. I left so stuffed.

We visited for my birthday dinner and the staff were so nice! I adore the decor and they have a gorgeous tree in the middle of the restaurant. They do a great job and keep their food and service consistent everytime I visit. They even gave us a bday dessert which was precious. ordered: Huckleberry Martini Stuffed Chicken Breast

Best ramen I have ever had. Crisp kale, seared pork, egg and noodles. Everyone loved their lunch and the decor. We stopped to celebrate a birthday, good atmosphere and spot for family dining.

Came here for lunch after looking at some reviews. There is plenty of parking and the staff were very nice. We were seated outside rather quickly. To start we were asked to wait so they could prepare a table which was fine. After about 5 minutes we were seated. Problem was table was dirty with food. Kind of odd since they stated they needed us to wait so they could clean the table. The waitress came for drink order and saw the dirty table and immediately got stuff to clean it. It was a Friday so they had their fish fry special. The wife went with that. I went with the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and fries. My meatloaf was decent. A little dry but flavor ok. The garlic mashed were also ok. A little lumpy and dry as well as in not creamy at all. The fries were different. Like a smashed steak fry. Those I liked pretty good. The wife stated her fried fish was ok. Given it's their special for Friday she thought would be better. The potato casserole that it came with was pretty good though. She said would not get the fish again. I'd go back if I was with someone who wanted to go here but wouldn't go on my own accord. I don't think it lived up to the reviews.

We stopped here just for drinks outside since it was a lovely day in May! They put a super cute design in the chocolate martini and the service was solid. The restaurant is very nice and I loved sitting outside. The outdoor dining is right next to a farm field which I like as a small town girl Would like to come back to try the food sometime!

I stopped in on a beautiful Saturday afternoon for a quick bite to eat and had an amazing server! Raquel was awesome! They were attentive and welcoming! The chicken wings were delicious. I love a great blue cheese and it was bomb! And since I'm still on the dry path the zero proof maple mule was a great alternative! Again, thank you Raquel for such great service!

It's located a few minutes away from downtown Waunakee. A newer building, easy to park, and a big space. The restaurant is modern with lots of seating options (bar, tables, booths). We were greeted by friendly hosts and seated right away. They have a bigger menu with a variety of options. We started with lemon drop martinis which were good and Thai lettuce wraps as an app. I thought they were pretty good. It was more than enough for just the two of us to split. I think one person could get it as an entree. For our main meal we both order pizza. I had green pepper and mushrooms. It was just ok. I did like the thin crust. All of our food came out quickly and our waiter was very attentive. I'm not in a big rush to come back.

A modern restaurant with a rustic chic feel. Friendly staff, tentative server, and delicious food options. Girlfriends and I visited for a birthday celebration right around St Patrick's Day. We weren't the easiest bunch and stayed until close but they were wonderful sports. The Flowers Sprouts appetizer was so delicious we ordered a second after finishing the first while waiting for our food. This created the dilemma of being full once the food arrived. I ordered the Lemon Garlic Seafood pasta. It was delicious. The Thai Chicken wrap was delicious. And the Irish Jig was delicious I've been to this location a few times each time the food has been tasty & the service has been great. Thank you!

Not great. Disorganized service, okay food, and the strange experience that comes from a shrunken-head Brett Favre staring over it all. (I'm not joking on Brett. There's a 20-foot portrait of his historical doppelgänger, Patrick Tierney, looming over the booths.) The food ranged from decent to meh. The best thing was the caprese salad, held together with crisp greens and a tasty pesto vinaigrette dressing. Everything else... not great. The pan-fried walleye was kind of fish-stick in quality, the fish tacos were absolutely drowned in sauce, and the wagyu burger was a bland, sloppy mess that tried to be a fancy mushroom and Swiss burger and missed. The fries were kind of stale. I guess you really need a dipping sauce to enjoy them. The service was friendly but disorganized. One of our entrees was accidentally directed to a different table, meaning three of us got our food 5-7 minutes before the fourth person in the party. We'd heard good things about Buck & Honey's, but in hindsight that was the Monona location. We may try that one in the future.

I left hubby with no option other than stopping for lunch or at least ordering some food to go. I lived in Kansas as a teenager and fondly remember discovering bierocks and later making them for my own family. I wish we were locals because not only are the bierocks good, but this place has a fun vibe that would definitely bring us back. It was a game day when we stopped, and there was a fair crowd cheering on their favorite Wisconsin team. We ordered a Classic with Bavarian seasoning and a Rosemary Lamb Bierock to go along with some jalapeño poppers. I really enjoyed the Classic with the additional seasoning. It gave it an added boost of flavor. My husband was pleased with the Rosemary Lamb. Each came with chips and a pickle. Next time, I hope we can stop in and stay for a cocktail or craft beer as well.

Place was not busy and our order was messed up -- ingredients and sides weren't correct or were missing -- which is the reason for 3 stars. We did get comped one meal due to the fact that an entire meal for our son wasn't made and we had to wait another 15 minutes for it to be cooked. Overall, I'd like to try this place again to see if it can regain some stars and my confidence in the service.

El Alegre is located in a small modern strip of shops, with a party center they run next door. The restaurant is medium sized with a nice bar in the corner by the kitchen. The room is sleek and modern with black walls and tables, wood chairs and floors, and a colorful neon strip around the ceiling. Service was attentive without being intrusive. The menu is two sided and manages to have a nice variety without being overstuffed. I ended up ordering the Camarones a la Diabla, as someone who loves spicy shrimp it sounded great. A bit of a wait for the food, but the place was busy with the dining room almost full including a couple of larger tables. The chips and salsa was ok, but nothing special but provided a nice prelude while I waited for the meal. The meal came out nicely presented on a square white plate, which set off the colorful meal. The shrimp were nice sized, plump and well cooked; the sauce was excellent, not overly spicey, but instead complex and delicious with an interesting mix of flavors, it seemed to be similar to a mole instead of just a hot sauce. The refried beans and spanish rice were both good and the guacamole, sour cream and small salad was a nice compliment to the meal. The flour tortillas were very good, freshly griddled and fresh. I was very impressed with El Alegre, the decor is a nice change from most Mexican restaurants. I was very impressed with their version of Camarones a la Diabla, usually it is served with a fairly simple hot sauce, here they created a wonderful and complex sauce that perfectly complimented the shrimp and provided a true treat. If you are in the area and looking for some great Mexican food El Alegre is well worth a visit. If the rest of the menu is anything like my meal it is a great flavorful interpretation of Mexican food.

Of course there was a Taco Bell close to the exit from I-90, but that wasn't going to cut it. So, we found El Alegre about two miles into town. The place was packed Well, we had a very good meal with happy service. A big sign on the wall in the kitchen said "work hard and be nice to people ". Gotta love that. So we were coming South on I-90 and remembered El Alegre. Being vegetarian, I usually find plenty of options in a Mexican restaurant (and also Chinese and Italian). This menu had a vegetarian section with about six or seven choices, but I looked over the rest of the very large menu and found several versions of Chile Relleño. I've never seen anything but the one stuffed with cheese anywhere else. Well, they had a version stuffed with vegetables! I had to try it. I am so glad I did. It was delicious and a very generous portion served with rice and beans that rose above the standard usually experienced. My wife had a shrimp dish that I sampled and loved. She said the margaritas were also excellent. So, if you find yourself on I-90, you won't regret driving a couple miles off the highway to find El Alegre!
