This is the place to dine in Weatherford, no question. I had three dinners here during my stay, and all were good. Bbq pork ribs were tender with a good amount of sauce already on it. Chicken fried steak was canonical. Pork chop small and thick, more tender than you'd expect. Vegetables good too. We took youngest granddaughter to WaterZoo last Thursday without calling or checking the website, and yes it was closed. Fortunately, we had spotted several things we'd like to see "one day". The first thing was to head back east to this place because hubby's mother was named Lucille. I was a little disappointed to see a less than 5 star rating but we went in anyway. What a delightful place! We were seated and then waited on immediately by a very friendly young lady. She helped me find the jalapeño burger then when I was having trouble selecting a side she mentioned that they had recently gotten sweet potato fries which I immediately ordered Our food came quickly and was both attractive and DELICIOUS! Much to my surprise the jalapeños weren't out of a jar! That they were battered strips. I think it was the best jalapeño hamburger I've ever had. My husband and granddaughter both enjoyed their dishes as well. Then we drove on down the road and stopped at the original gas station and got some pictures. We came late about 20 min before closing but really wanted a steak. The server was great and did not rush us to finish. The food was good, I had the bacon wrapped fillet with steamed veggies and hubby had the Ribeye. Both steak were cooked perfectly. I loved the Mac n Cheese! While we waited for the food I was able to look at souvenirs and the staff was friendly also. The historic signs were fun to look at. Disappointing. Just keep driving. After going to the air plane museum we were starving. We stopped by Lucille's for a "quick lunch" before continuing our journey. After being waited on by an "I don't want to be here" attitude waitress, I ordered the party melt and fries. My BF ordered the fried jalapeño burger. We waited close to a half hour to get the food. E also had to ask for our food. Neither of the burgers were seasoned and were Sahara Desert dry from being extremely overcooked. Mine was so bad I didn't even finish the first half and the fries weren't much better. Luckily I had an apple in my car. My boyfriend said his would have been the same had it not been loaded with other stuff. That was the only way it saved his. The pickles were gross too. How could they improve ! I've stopped here a few times, since they have a supercharger out back and they're right off the interstate. But I haven't reviewed them, because I don't want to be mean. They obviously try hard, and I really want to love the old fashioned diner style. But the service is slow, painfully at times. Don't know how this place only has an overall rating of 3.5 on Yelp. On our RV trip, we stopped for a couple of days in Weatherford and the first night in Weatherford, had dinner at Lucille's. They have the steakhouse side and the diner side (they both have same menu, but just different vibe from steakhouse side and diner side, they also have a banquet room). The service was excellent as was the food. Portions a pretty large, the steak I had steak, mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. Everything was excellent. Don't know what they season the carrots with in the mixed veggies, BUT DAMN IT WAS SO GOOD. All the food was excellent. Wife had the baked potato with pulled pork, that was very good too! Service was excellent, our food came out quickly. They have a large menu with so many choices. If we were staying in Weatherford longer, we would go back numerous times!! read more

Lucille's is now on our gotta-stop here list for our frequent I-40 travels. Previously we had never arrived to supercharge when Lucille's was open. Yes, the Tesla supercharger only has 6 V2 150 kW (slow) chargers, but it is conveniently located just behind the restaurant. This makes grabbing a sit-down meal easy to fit into a charging session. No need to worry about a long walk to unplug after your food arrives! The soft drinks and water are served in plastic tumblers that become go-cups... what a convenience! The food was excellent, the service was first-rate and the ambience was relaxed. The other customers were well mannered and spoke quietly. No restaurant can control this, so we might have just lucked out since we arrived at a less busy time (2:30 PM). The kitchen made my sandwich to my weird customized order, grilling the sourdough bread perfectly. The addition of (Canadian bacon? Salami?) was inspired. I didn't think to request it, but it raised the flavor level to maximum deliciousness. That chef really knows how to cook!My husband's salmon salad was as tasty as it was healthy to eat. He was pleased to discover that he could get a smaller portion size. We have discovered that smaller meals make traveling easier. Road trips usually make good nutrition difficult to find, but there were many fine choices on the menu. I was able to get green beans as my side item... a surprising and healthy option. Our server (Hannah) was professional, friendly and welcoming. She was particularly patient as I explained the ingredients in the sandwich I wanted. Whoever chose the restaurant's music did a great job. Easy listening pop music at a perfect volume. Finally, hygiene... excellent! The restrooms were clean, fresh, well-lit, roomy and well-stocked. Anyone in a wheelchair would be comfortable. I have to believe the kitchen and prep areas are kept to the same standards. So I could say Lucille's is possibly an ideal restaurant, if today wasn't my first visit. Today I ordered unsweet iced tea, so I can say it was perfect with a slice of lemon but I can't report on coffee quality. Next time! read more

We called in for two Lucille's Roadhouse salads. One with grilled chicken and one with fried chicken. We were told 10-15 minutes. My husband went to pick it up and it was almost 45 minutes from the time we called. I had six pieces of chicken on my large chicken salad. If I had gotten the small salad, would I have received 3 pieces on my salad? This is the reason we don't frequent Lucille's much anymore. it's hit or miss on whether the meal will be good! read more

It's usually very busy when we go in they only have the one side open in the evenings and that is the steakhouse outside. Would prefer to be in the diner sometimes in the evenings instead of the steakhouse. The waitresses are kind, but you can tell who wants to work and who doesn't. My favorite is the steak salad. My children absolutely love the chicken teriyaki so much that they get the adult size. I feel like the steakhouse side is just too dark in my opinion. read more

We like to stop at local places whenever possible and skip the chain restaurants so this fit the bill. Menu had a wide variety of tastes to please anyone. We didn't have a lot of time since we were here for a tournament and only had an hour or so between games. Service was fine. A little on the slow side so like I said, we had to rush it along a bit. We ordered the strawberry and the taco salads, quesadillas that they happily adjusted to make vegetarian for us, and 2 chicken dishes. Generous portions. Some were leftover but that's fine. No one left hungry. The decor was cute, and even had some history of the restaurant and the namesake on the wall. It wasn't noisy or crowded during our visit. Couple flies were buzzing around which was icky but that happens in the warm weather sometimes. Overall not spectacular but for a diner in the middle of nowhere, you could do a lot worse. read more

He and his staff care for every order with attention to detail and thoughtful presentation. This is a nice, large, clean diner in Weatherford. We'd been on the road all day, and wanted comfort food. Service was friendly. I had the meatloaf special with mashed potatoes, she had a chicken fried steak with tots, and we shared some fried okra. I was completely blown away (so was my wife) at her command and management of such a large party. Very friendly and approachable w/ multiple requests for addtl napkins, vinegar, etc. She was constantly refilling water orders, didn't break a sweat. Just smooooth service all the way around. Didn't bother her there were separate checks. Totally professional while being personable. I expect that she would be training new hires. Terrible service, warm beer, where do I start? Waited 15 minutes for a beer, and when it came there was a hair inside the beer and on the lime and outside of cup, and it was not cold at all. Let me just start by saying that if nothing else this place is a cool place to stop and see! BUT, not only is it a cool pit stop but it's a great place to eat! First off, you have two restaurant choices the steakhouse/roadhouse side and the classic diner side. On our motorcycle stop we opted for the casual diner side and boy we were not disappointed! It's a spacious fun environment with a giant map on the wall showing Route 66 spanning the US highlighting prominent landmarks (including lucille's) I had the patty melt with hush puppies and to my surprise the hush puppies were more of hush fries but were just as good in that form as there typical make. The most impressive moment was definitely the fact our waitress could keep up with me and my dad chugging our drinks as we always do (see the pictures). This is a classic feel that takes you back to the pre interstate days where families followed the winding way of Route 66 as it crosses the country. I really don't understand the negative reviews! We knew on Friday that we would be driving the 68 miles to Weatherford on Saturday to meet up with the seller of our new "used" truck, so we looked around online for a restaurant that Friday night and saw this place and decided after we were done buying the truck, that's where we wanted to eat lunch. The place looked Awesome! Memorabilia all over the walls, the table areas and the food, it was so good we wanted more, but we're all too full! We walked in and there were about a dozen people seated already. We were seated fast at the booth we chose. We ordered our drinks, then our food and then soon after that the place was packed! It took a little bit to get our food, but that was understandable, they got slammed just a few minutes after we had ordered. Oh yum! Lucilles was mentioned in Jerry McClanahan's book as a historic stop for decades on Route 66, so we wanted to give it a try. Oh yeah! I ordered the Ultimate BLT on sourdough with an egg, tater tots as a side. Not holding back and this is worth all these calories! RRR had the Ultimate Cheeseburger with steamed broccoli on the side and said it was wonderful. He likes fresh lemon to squeeze on his broccoli. We got to the restaurant around 830am and it was the place with a group of older men sit eating and talking so we knew the food had to be good. The waitress was not overly friendly but attentive. There were no social distancing measures in place. No masks or gloves were worn by anyone but it was a "seat yourself" so we picked a place away from the other tables. We're in the area and found this place on Yelp, the reviews were good so we stopped in. I'm glad we did. When you walk in there's two different places to sit. One to your right is a '50's diner and to your left is more of a modern restaurant. We chose the more modern side, the booths were very roomy and the place is clean. The staff is very polite and cheery, good sign. We ordered the fried corn as an appetizer, it's a sweet corn that's been battered fried. I got the chicken fried chicken, 7 oz serving- more than enough to fill you up! I chose mashed potatoes and steamed veggies, delicious! My husband got the chicken bites, buffalo style, with okra, mashed potatoes and gravy. We left full and happy! There's a gift shop in the front, this if a Route 66 attraction. I would definitely recommend this place. I've got a sensitive stomach so I've got to be extra careful on road trips, no problems at all!! Arrived and seated at 7:30pm. The table behind us was getting their ticket adjusted due to never getting part of their order (should have left then). My husband ordered the pork chops and we were informed it would be 25 minutes to cook them we were ok with that because they are thick cut.
