We finally decided to travel to Clinton to eat at White Dog. We knew we needed to go before daylight saving fall back. They are only open for dinner so winter means traveling home in dark. Easy to find but with a woodsey feel. Love the chairs sitting out for sunset viewing. The whole place is very unique. We went on Halloween so hardly anyone there. Would love to go back when a more lively crowd. When your retired, you like to people watch and visit. Ordered the special Meatloaf with mashed sweet potatoes and zucchini. Husband had porkchop. All very good but would of loved bread. They do offer appetizers of cheese board with a little bread roll. I'm not a fan of chunks of cheese so didn't order. Menu has steaks and hamburgers. Watch specials on Facebook! Summer would be best to be prettiest and warmer. Definitely worth the 1 1/2 hr drive. Very friendly service. Total casual atmosphere. It's even close to a Cherokee Trading center for alittle shopping.

Great service!! We had the Oklahoma wines with a small charcuterie which was a great pairing. We also enjoyed the special which was a pecan crusted salmon, maple Cinammon carrots and balsamic Parmesan asparagus. This is such a fun special occasion place. Love the atmosphere. One of our very favorites!

Had a lovely dinner with friends at White Dog Hill (WDH). Left OKC at 4:30 and picked up our friends in Yukon at 5:00. Arrived WDH at 6 for our reservations. WDH is a unique venue and an excellent restaurant located east of Clinton, OK sitting on a plateau that provides a beautiful view and stunning sunsets. The restaurant is rustic, charming, and exudes warmth. There are two dining levels, and the lower level is my favorite because of the sandstone rock walls. The building was originally constructed as the Clinton Country Club in 1925. There is an interesting story titled, the Legend of the White Dog that can be found at: https://www.routemagazine.us/stories/the-legend-of-the-white-dog For dinner, everyone but me ordered filets. I ordered a ribeye. The steaks were excellent, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to order. We passed on desert in favor of an after dinner cocktail at the Beany bar, a separate building, a short walk from the main restaurant. The Beany bar is lovely inside and out. It was an excellent after dinner experience.

Amazing view and amazing food. The steaks were done to perfection. Staff was attentive , but not over bearing. My wife had a mixed drink and loved it. Worth the trip

Great food and an amazing venue. The staff was also very welcoming and professional. I would highly recommend the White Dog.

Another amazing recommendation from the locals in Clinton, OK. This place was beautiful on the inside and had a great view of the surrounding area below. I went for the Ribeye with a side of fried green tomatoes and it was amazing! Perfectly cooked, well seasoned and great herb butter and dipping sauce for the tomatoes. I would go back in a heartbeat. The service is a little slow and they don't really check back often, but it seems like they're stretched a little thin there. It's absolutely worth the visit!

We sat downstairs. It was much brighter than I expected. Very pleasant! The walls of this place built in 1925 are so interesting!

It feels a little upscale but not in a way that makes you feel underdressed if you show up in jeans. The staff was super sweet, and our server made great recommendations. I ordered the chicken fried steak, and it was SO good. The portion was huge, and the gravy was chef's kiss. Also, can we talk about the bread for a second? Because I would genuinely go back just for that. I kept telling myself "one more piece" and then suddenly half the basket was gone. The only reason it's getting 4 stars instead of 5 is because the wait for our food felt a little longer than expected. Nothing crazy, but by the time it arrived, we were definitely checking the kitchen door every few minutes lol. Other than that, everything was great. The food was comforting, the atmosphere was nice, and it felt like one of those places that's perfect for catching up with friends or taking your parents when they're in town. Definitely adding this to my list of favorite OKC spots. Next mission: trying the brunch because everyone keeps talking about it.

Great food, great service, and absolutely worth the stop. A special shoutout to our server, Luz S., who was delightful and made the experience even better. Kelly and I split the chicken fried steak, and that herb bread was to die for. We'll definitely be back.

Happened to have a to-go steak salad on a Saturday and the steak was absolute bomb. Less so when on the flat-top on a weekday, but was appreciative of the effort and kind service. It's in the golf course, and I guess the restaurant is in the club house. When you walk in, there is a pool table room. It's a pretty spacious room for a pool table, not cramped at all like so many other bars. The next room is the bar and restaurant seating. I like the booths along the wall; it adds privacy as you eat. Stormy was our server, and she was absolutely excellent. She was super attentive and eager to answer any questions we had about the menu. We ordered fried pickles as an appetizer, and Stormy brought them to us quickly with homemade ranch dressing. They were nice and hot with just a bit of spice. The pickles were very good and as I'm writing this I'm craving more. For dinner, I ordered cheese fries and a side salad. The salad was good, typical iceberg lettuce, and great croutons. My cheese fries were just OK; I would've liked them more crispy, but the fries themselves looked hand cut with just a bit of skin on them. This restaurant doesn't have much for vegetarians, but Stormy was happy to help with the menu. I think next time I will try some other things on the menu; most of the sides are vegetarian. The bar looks like a full bar. They do offer bottled beverages too. I had a margarita-style bottled drink, and it was pretty good. My friend had a mixed drink, but I'm not sure what it was. I was happy to try this place. It serves very typical dive bar food, but there are also a few things on the menu that isn't typical. I can say the prices are rather high for the area. I'll probably be back sooner rather than later for more fried pickles!
