I was visiting Weatherford so I can't say for certain but with the time of day we ran to Jerry's for brunch, it might be easy to assume the place is always hopping- which is a great sign!! Nothing looked at all old or crusty the way you have to expect some diners to be. There was good music on, and just loud enough to hear and not overpower a conversation. We were seated quickly, they wiped the table down for us- we were greeted and served promptly and nobody left us hanging very long. If our waitress was busy, someone else would come by and check on us. Everyone's food looked great and the orders came out correctly aside from asking for CRISPY hash browns. I had the eggs Benedict. A little overly preached on the eggs and the hollandaise sauce had a pretty sharp tang (people either use lemon or vinegar for that so it's obviously going to be PRESENT sometimes) but I've never met an egg or a potato I didn't like and I've had hollandaise a thousand times, no two are the same, so this not a complaint just info for the customers. Driving through OK, I was looking for a great Americana diner with favorites from the 60s. Jerry's Diner and the team delivered a fantastic and friendly experience. The team was polite and attentive, scanning with their eyes to make sure we were having a great time - all of them. What a sense of Pride they all take in their work. The club sandwich had fresh, ripe veggies and I ordered it on toasted sourdough. My friend had a three egg breakfast scramble and devoured it. Jerry's was a pleasant surprise the first time I visited. Having recently moved to Oklahoma I am always stoked about new restaurants to try and obviously breakfast is always a necessity. This restaurant serves breakfast and lunch with a variety of menu items from savory to sweet. If you prefer a non pork breakfast meat however they do not offer anything outside of sausage and bacon. They had a cool option of chili and a cornbread waffle! Mostly freshly cooked and as long as they're not super busy the service is great! read more

Let me start by saying the servers are always amazing and they deserve better from the owner. I've heard from more than one previous employee that they had to leave due to low hours and low pay. The food has gone downhill and sadly the owner is clearly nickel-and-diming wherever he can to the point it's just too overpriced for what you get. And if you order to go, get ready for an up charge as they charge you for the cheap plasticware whether you ask for it or not. Your order can easily be double the price it lists with how much they overcharge for things they don't tell you about. Our latest experience: A to-go order of eggs benedict. $10.99. We got a little extra tomatoes and extra hollandaise (I say little because we got very little). The to-go order ended up being $22 BEFORE tip which included a $2 "to-go fee" which was explained to me as "because of the plasticware." Which I should add is too cheap to even use because they're so flimsy. This is why great local places go under eventually. Greed. The massive house the owner has doesn't pay for itself. We had breakfast party of 4. This morning the service has good the food was very good I would recommend the hungry traveler it is a a lot of food and delicious. If your not so hungry the Aussie breakfast with the sausage gravy and biscuits is really delicious. We fed our party for 52 dollars and some change. Jerry's was built in 1966, when drivers were "getting their kicks" on Route 66. Author John Steinbeck called US Route 66 "The Mother Road". Another moniker was "America's Main Street" as it passed through many downtown areas. Then, Interstate 40 was built for the trucking industry, bypassing much of the path of Route 66. Places became Ghost Towns as business dried up. That Jerry's is still going strong is testament to quality of food, and level of hospitality. Simple American menu, with a variety of dishes. Open 24 hours for breakfast, lunch, and dinner... or ice cream shakes, or pie & coffee. At Jerry's I have feasted upon Ham, Cheddar & Mushroom 3-egg omelet, with perfect hash browns, followed by apple pie. Next visit was Pot Roast, with brown gravy, and steamed greenpeas & carrots. It came with garden salad. Good price too! The restaurant is clean, and orderly. Staff is pleasant and helpful. This is not Denny's where people seem to regret working, and diners regret going...again... If you happen to cross America on the Fabulous 40, starve yourself until Weatherford, OK. Jerry's is Exit #82, Main Street ( old US Route 66 ). Turn north 1/2 mile. Wendy's & Carl's Jr stand across from Jerry's who stands unfazed by the tag-team with drive thru lanes. On a recent trip across the United States we made an overnight stop in Weatherford. The hotel we stayed at was alright, and the evening meal we had was good as well, but in the morning it was time for a decent little meal, and the hotel just didn't cut it (they didn't have anything). However, we had seen Jerry's on the way through town, and had even considered it for the night before, but in the end figured it would be better in the morning. Jerry's is a pretty typical diner, from the front bar with stools and formica topping to the booths lining the walls and local people sitting in their favorite spots. You can't really get much closer to your quintessential diner as you get with Jerry's. We are not really booth sitters... the table height and distancing is never quite right. There were a couple of tables with regular chairs as well, but we opted for the front bar. It was a bar that was constructed in a different day and age... I didn't quite fit, but I made do. We ordered up a couple of standard items, in my case a couple of eggs over-easy with hash browns, toast, and my most favorite of breakfast items, corned-beef hash. Everything was cooked properly, and the corned-beef hash hit the spot for me. This is definitely more of a morning place for food. You can get items at lunch and dinner, and they are probably very good, but the diner experience is what you are going to get all day long, and eating in a place like this after a long day on the road was not our idea of a good way to end the day, but it was a great way to begin it! read more

Have been to Jerry's many times and always happy with the food. Service is generally hit and miss. Today, everything was amiss. Took awhile to get menus. Ordered and food was served in literally 3 minutes with no silverware and had to ask for my salad. My baked potato was cold and not fully cooked. Peas were burnt ( really, how ? ) . My friend asked for over medium eggs . They were over easy . He got 1 refill on his coffee. Our server was obviously in a very bad mood and the manager was very condescending. I understand this restaurant has been here for a very long time. I get the fact that it is practically a landmark. However, that doesn't warrant the horrible experience we had. We arrived around 9pm during the week. My nephew had just finished a baseball game, and we were starving. We wanted breakfast. We looked over the menu, and I asked the waitress if there was gravy with no sausage. She was a bit embarrassed to say that all of the gravy has sausage. I asked, "even chicken fried steak white gravy?" She informed us that yes, even that gravy. My sister and nephew ended up ordering the chicken fried steak: neither could eat it, even without the gravy. I myself ordered a scrambled egg and a biscuit: the eggs had shells in it and the biscuit was cold and hard. Horrible. I took one bite of each and was ready to go. The waitress even saw this, on all accounts. When we got up to pay, even with all of the problems the staff knew about, the tab was still $40. No apologies, no comp, nothing. For that much money, you would think something would be edible. It's sad. read more

Tried this place while in town for a week for work. Had my Sunday sit down breakfast here & was VERY happy with the awesome service & good food. The server was obviously old school & knew how to waitress, I was acknowledged very quickly upon sitting at counter, she told me she would be with me in just a minute, & then had coffee in front of me in no time (fresh coffee bean grinder on their service counter next to their coffee maker). Had the waffle combo with eggs & bacon, waffle was hot, fresh, slightly crisp & good tasting, eggs were fairly light, however the bacon was under cooked as in not crispy at all would be my only complaint. I wish they offered a 'pecan waffle' because the waffle is really good but ground up pecans in it would put it over the top as a few cafes I've found offer & they are so good!
